Springboard
Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.
To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.
Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard's programs are backed with a job guarantee.
Springboard’s support does not end when students graduate. All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Since Springboard was founded in 2013, 94% of eligible graduates secured a job within one year, earning an average salary increase of $26,000.

The course is well curated and you have access to DataCamp as well. A real mentor helps keep things on track. There are a lot of resources to help with the course, many I did not use as much (Office hours, advisor help). There is a lot of study material, but you can skip over some parts. Overall, a very helpful course.

Mentorship + Projects

Intermediate Data Science with Python
Overall the course was an awesome experience. The course contains interactive coding courses through Datacamp.com. You are given a free memebership to DataCamp while you are enrolled in the course. There are also actual Harvard Comupter Science lectures provided for some of the machine learning topics. Something I didn't know going in, but was a nice suprise. Then, there are mini projects and your major capstone project. The projects can be challenging at times, but that is what it takes t...

Weekly calls with an expert to keep you focused and provide assistance on projects or any other advice. The community is not as strong as they advertise, but I think this is expected as most people are very busy and aren't looking to go out of their way to help other students. If you are coming from minimal coding experience in python, it will take a lot longer than average to complete this course.

Great class for beginners
Overall, I had a great experience with the class. The curriculum was nicely organized, and the reading materials were all up to date. I am very happy the fact that I can access to these materials even after finishing the course. I especially thought that weekly mentor meetings were very helpful.

Great Experience!
The curated curriculum was an excellent way to learn and the mentor-led format (Renata was awesome!), as well as the projects, made the learning experience very effective and enjoyable. As a current instructional designer (now Learning Experience Designer), I can attest to the quality of the coursework and highly recommend this course to anyone remotely interested in gaining a deep understanding of the principles of User Experience Design.

If you're someone like me who needs a structure to their learning then this is a great course for the price. The Mentor meetings are really great, my mentor Andre provided great insight whilst taking an in-depth interest in my project, which made me feel like I was getting my money's worth.

Something I really wanted to know was how long it would take:
- If you're working part-time, you can complete it in 2-3 months.
- If you're working full-time, you are looking at 3-4 months.
I was working full-time during the completion of this course and it took me 4 months. However, the insight I've gained is massive and I feel like I've learnt a lot about UX.

I would definitely recommend taking the Springboard UX Design course because it connects you with so many valuable resources and material. The best part was having a mentor who has a lot of experience in the field. You get to talk with him or her once a week and talk about the course material, your project, or any questions you might have. The hardest part for me personally was sticking to the schedule. I learned a lot from Springboard's UX Bootcamp. I thought the curriculum was well-organzied, and there is a ton of information that's accessible forever, which is also another huge plus.
