Nucamp

I chose NuCamp because of the flexibility of the schedule. The ability to be a hybrid greatly helps. The additional/further resources combined with the online open resources makes this course very feasible for someone coming in with no prior coding experience.

I chose Nucamp for 3 reasons:

1) Price

2) Works around student's schedule

3) Collaboration with Instructors and Peers 

There is no other Bootcamp that I have seen that matches what Nucamp offers in terms of price and flexibility. For the students that are brand new to programming and contemplating on potentially changing careers, this is a great course to take to help you make that decision. For anyone who is just curious about programming in general, this course will help give you the fundamentals needed to understand key concepts and take your knowledge to another level. Ultimately, if you have the time needed to learn these concepts and a willingness to ask questions, you will take away from this course a greater appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes as you look at a website.

Nucamp worked great for someone with a busy schedule. This does not mean there was little work or learning to be had! The structure allows you to have a family & full time job while still learning and getting an in person environment to compliment the online learning. You will get out of it what you put in. In order to maximize your learning and fully comprehend the assignments you will need to research on your own outside of the lessons. 

I chose NuCamp Beginning Web Dev Fundamentals because I intend to move on to a full stack bootcamp and I needed a review of HTML and CSS. I was also very new to JavaScript and needed more knowledge to be able to complete coding challenges. The course also gave me a better idea of what I would be getting into with a larger bootcamp.

Cost was also a factor in choosing this course. I wanted to try this thing risk free, and the low cost made me feel safe with my choice. I also enjoyed the fact that I did not have to quit my job to take this step. NuCamp has many course scheduling options. I joined the Newark Cohort because it was offered online. I didn't have to make the hour long trip into Philly or Newark personally which meant more study time and no tolls!

The coursework was great! We learned how to use the Command Line, and how to easily manipulate our code editors. I was worried about being too slow during the JavaScript section, but our instructor took the time to teach to all levels. 

In the end, I feel like this was well worth my time, and I would totally recommend taking this course through NuCamp!

I specifically selected Nucamp for cost reasons, time flexibility (I can work evenings and weekends) and the content (I was excited there is an online program that teaches specifically Bootstrap and React). 

Naasir is a fantastic teacher. I had a few developer teachers in the past and I honestly can say he is one of the best ones I ever had. For somebody who is a junior level sure knows a lot of web development and most importantly he can teach the coding subjects. I had teachers who been developing over ten years but cannot teach to save their lives. Naasir not only can teach the courses in a methodical and transparent way (a way that I can actually understand coding) but he is caring and wants us to succeed. I can see he has a lot of passion and that makes me to have more passion for coding as well. 

Some of the drawbacks are the pacing of the online videos. The instructor does a decent job explaining the theory of Bootstrap coding but she goes a little too fast when it comes to actual coding. I don't know if that was her choice or whoever was in charge of making the Bootstrap program online videos, but the pacing needs to slow down. That is one issue for me. Another issue was some technical issues on a quiz and instructions.  Incorrect Information was presented in the instructions. When taking the quiz where I selected an answer, which was indicated wrong on the Nucamp site but was actually right (The instructor pointed out there was a bug in the Nucamp site), one would figure this would be worked out before launching this program live to customers.

Not a fan having the workshops and classes occur during Thanksgiving and Christmas time because that is when I am slammed at work (year end closing) and holiday travels. Gives me less time to do the online tutorials. 

NuCamp offered a great way for me to be introduced to basic coding languages without having to take off from work or put responsibilities aside. Where I am, at least, this isn't typically offered anywhere else, as the other coding bootcamps in my area all require your daily attention from 9-5, which is typically your average work schedule. I love the flexibility and the price just can't be beat. 

I was a completely new to coding.  I have a much better understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript after this 4 week camp.  This camp was not easy for me but now I can conceptualize how to code and understand the basics.  The projects are fun but require time and study, but that is normal and expected.  Be prepared to commit your time if you are a true beginner.

This is the first boot camp I have ever attended.  As for Nucamp, I have nothing but  good recommendations to offer.  The instructors were great and if I was unable to attend my online sessions, Nucamp made arrangements for me to attend another cohort online.  My instructors made time for me when I needed help.  Thank you again!

A flexible schedule and affordable for somebody that can't attend school either because of work or can't afford to pay for school, both applicable to me. Really enjoy and liked the schedule the Nucamp offers, during the week we get to study and do assignments then on Saturday we get to the workshop to review the exercises of that week.

I chose to take this course because, although I loved HTML when I studied it many years ago,  I wasn't sure if coding would be right for me now or if I would be able to handle it. Spending exorbitant amounts for other courses wasn't an option, especially because I was unsure. After completing the beginners' course, I am SO happy I chose to do this through Nucamp because it cleared all my doubts and I am sure I want to go through the advanced levels with Nucamp. The instructors and community are so welcoming and helpful and the course provides an excellent structure for learning. The in-person workshops are also a great support that help clear all your doubts from the week of learning. Would definitely recommend the beginners' course for anyone with doubts! 

This  HTML-CSS-JavaScript bootcamp was a great way to get started adding skills for web development.  At first it seemed overwhelming, but gradually it got easier as I learned more.  The last workshop was especially fun to work on.  I am going to continue with the next Nucamp classes.

For the price of what you receive, you receive a lot of information. Having an actual designated instructor you can get fast and direct answers to is well worth the money. I do not recommend this course if you have no knowledge of web development (like I did). They made it work but I felt confused a lot. I think if you can do a free introductory course through an App or  an online program that is free that would help you start and this course would REALLY fine tune your skills while giving you great feedback on the concepts you are learning.
