Nucamp

To summarize my experience with Nucamp into a few words I would say it was exciting, fun, and engaging. The content is very clearly presented. The course's design allowed for me to establish a foundation on day one and then simply build from there. My instructor was excellent. He was a large part of why my understanding of the content was successful! If you take this course I highly recommend going to the office hours - even if you don't have specific questions. Just being there and processing your new knowledge is such a big part of learning and I appreciate that Nucamp offers it! If you are on the fence about whether you should take this course or if you are "ready" to start - just go for it! You won't find a more supportive team or a better financial deal anywhere! This course is perfect for those who are new to web development or people who does not have time for self learning and need guidance.
Our instructor was very knowledgeable and provided answers to every question.
For bootstrap, I think the course lenght was ok.  It provided the needed tools to start up building websites under this platform.
I consider myself a kind of dinosaur of web development XD. I got used to develop my own code according to my needs, and I was always reluctant to adopt other libraries to simplify my work. now that I´m here at nucamp and I am getting the content and results I expected, I think that finally I will be able to transition to an updated and better way of  web development. I loved how affordable this was! They give you real assignments to apply the coding so you have a jumping off point for a portfolio in the future. This was a beginning course to see if this is something you want or can do which is so much better than making kids sign predatory income share agreement contracts! I chanced upon Nucamp by accident. I was viewing a job site and saw a job ad for an instructor for Nucamp. That is when I first learned about this coding boot camp. I viewed their website, the courses they offered, FAQs, social mission. It truly is affordable and the schedule fits even for a full time worker. What I liked most about NuCamp is it's flexibility. Some weeks I had more time outside of the course to do coursework, and others were time restricted. With my changing schedule, the flexibility of working through the week, with class on Saturday, really helped me. I chose Nucamp in order to get more affiliated with the coding world of computer technology. I like how engageful the community and the instructors are and I like how the tuition is affordable compared to most coding bootcamps. I have been very satisfied with the layout of the course material, the way the material has been presented especially during these times of a pandemic, and how knowledgeable and patient my instructor, Mike Bybee, was when answering our questions, guiding us to resources during our assignments, explaining real world problems one may encounter, and explaining common errors. What I loved most about Nucamp first and foremost was the price. You cannot find any other bootcamp that is as reasonably priced as this one is. It is also setup to be flexible, at least during the week. You have the entire week to get through the content for that week before the mandatory Saturday workshop. I was a complete beginner and knew nothing before signing up for this program, and I thought the Fundamentals program did a great job of teaching the basics. That's not to say that just because you're learning the basics that it won't be challenging. If you  already have experience with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript then maybe this will come easy to you, but I was challenged every week, especially during the workshop assignments. There is a lot of course content that is discussed, plus there are additional resources for you to work through on your own time outside of the cirriculum. Essentially, you get out of this program what you put in. You need to do some work every day or almost every day if you want to be ready for the weekly workshops, as well as just retaining knowledge in general. And use the resources available to you! You have a live workshop every week so you can ask the instructor and your peers questions. I found the breakout rooms to be helpful because they consisted of 2-3 other students and it was easier to ask a question if you get stuck on something. And the instructor is always available for questions, too. Besides the workshop there are also several forum pages (through nucamp, Slack, etc) where you can reach out to people or even just see what others struggle with that may end up helping you. I am signed up for the Full Stack program and I feel a lot more prepared for that now thanks to this Fundamentals course.   Read less

I am in week 5 of Bootstrap in the 22-week Full-Stack course, and I am enjoying Nucamp so far. I chose this coding bootcamp over the others because it is very affordable. The instructor is very knowledgeable and helpful. He makes sure we understand the material. We meet up online as a class every Saturday for assignment workshop and sometimes extra sessions throughout the week to make sure we are understanding the material and getting the help we need. You must make time for studying every day and have passion for what you do in order to succeed. I am so glad I chose this course and would recommend to anyone interested in learning full-stack web development. Do not be scared at the low price. It is a great community here to help you. Nucamp gave me the insight into the world of Coding. I am a Graphic Design by profession and wanted to add websbite design to my arsenal. Nucamp is a great, affordable way to learn coding. I decided to go with Nucamp because of their affordable pricing, the flexibility of the courses, and that they offered a course that was clearly intended for absolute beginners, which is the Web Development Fundamentals course. I enrolled in the fundamentals course myself, and it was a healthy dose of raw coding. The material was presented in a way that was easy to digest, but still engaging. The typical week structure is a self-study model throughout the entire week, and ending with a 4 hour live workshop on Saturdays, where you review the material and work on a challenge with your instructor and fellow classmates. This model makes the course very accessible to a lot of people, which is awesome, but I recognize that it may not be the most effective strategy for everyone. You have to be able to stay interested, and absorb the knowledge on your own without someone instructing you day to day. For me personally, that was totally doable to learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and JS- but I can imagine that learning more advanced languages and such could be significantly more challenging. Luckily, everyone has access to the Nucamp Slack channels, where you can reach out for help from your instructor, or even other instructors and students. So you're never really alone, and don't always have to be literally learning on your own. All things considered, Nucamp has so far proven to be a solid option as a coding bootcamp, and I'd definitely recommend it to people who are looking to at least dip their toes in the field and see how they fare.  Read less

Finally found the Nucamp bootcamp that offers flexability for students that work or have kids. You can do the lessons at your own pace, but you do have to be dedicated and make sure the lessons are completed by the end of each week. The instructors have been great and very helpful. They are very easy to get along with and will answer any questions you may have. If for some reason that cant get a hold of them feel free to ask your questions in the slack channel for other instructors or students to help you on your way.  The lessons are broken down into different catagories and have easy to follow instructions. By the end of the week you have a group workshop where you get to work with a few students in sub groups to try and complete the project by the end of class on Saturdays which I found really fun, but can also be very frustrating at times as the lessons can go by very fast leaving you confused sometimes as to what happened in the previous lessons. Luckily you get access to the lessons you paid for so you can always refer back to them if needed for any reference. Nucamp is so far the most affordable bootcamp I have found and would encourage anyone that is on a budget to check them out. Read less

I needed something that would allow me to go back to work full time while gaining an extensive knowledge of what goes into becoming a full stack developer. Nucamp has made that possible. I'm very pleased with the instruction I have received so far and the format in which it is delivered.
