I was really impressed with the amount of knowledge they crammed into every single week. The instructors I had were all accessible. Even the admin are on the Slack channel and help out students. Even if you feel like you can't possibly get a good background in web development with just one day a week in class, give the Fundamentals class a try. You might be surprised at how much you can manage to learn the other 6 days if you are determined and self-reliant. It's definitely a "you get out what you put in" situation. And it's definitely an accelerated learning experience. You have to keep up or else. Thankfully, repeating or rescheduling a class is a nominal fee under $100. I chose Nucamp due to the relatively inexpensive tuition and flexibility because I am taking the course while working full time. I have no regrets about my decision and I will be starting the full-stack course in 2 weeks. Nucamp delivers on what they sell, I gained a fundamental knowledge of html, css, and javascript that has help prepared me for the full-stack course.
My instructor Olaf far exceeded my expectations, which was awesome. If the content seems overwhelming at first, don't panic. It's a lot of information to take in when you're learning something new. You're going to learn by repetition and doing it on your own. They warn you to be prepared to put in extra time for the javascript section (weeks 3 and 4), and I say please heed this advice, as this is when the course got a bit trickier for me. Google is your friend. It's always helpful to read an explanation about a concept from a different perspective. Don't be afraid to reach out for help! Everyone is here to learn, and asking questions helps facilitate that.
Be mindful that this is a part-time bootcamp. It's going to take you going above and beyond the bootcamps requirements to be competent enough to eventually gain that first programming gig.

I'm in the full-stack development program and I just finished the first module (bootstrap). I chose nucamp because it's part-time, online, extremely affordable, and has policies in place that seem much more forgiving and student-friendly than a lot of...I'm in the full-stack development program and I just finished the first module (bootstrap). I chose nucamp because it's part-time, online, extremely affordable, and has policies in place that seem much more forgiving and student-friendly than a lot of other bootcamps I've looked into. Because life gets in the way sometimes, no matter how well we've planned things out.
The instruction has been pretty good, though expect to do a lot of self-paced learning, reading documentation, etc. Personally, this isn't a problem, since this is good prep for problem-solving as a developer. The help and support is definitely there if you need it, though. And the workshops are great - right now they're taking place via Zoom (but then, isn't everything?). Essentially, you work in teams with 2-3 other students to work through a coding challenge, with the instructor periodically rotating between the teams to check progress and offer assistance. I think this probably does give us a decent sense of what it'll be like in a development team.
In terms of the workload, don't be mistaken: it IS challenging. You will be required to put in a lot of time on your own to get through the material. For me, that's shaking down to 1-2 hours a day, plus the workshop. I'm expecting the time commitment to increase dramatically for the harder javascript-based modules. However, it's totally manageable with a full-time job - it just means budgeting time effectively.
