Hofstra University offers 16 to 28-week, online bootcamps in Cybersecurity, Web Development, Data Science, Data Analytics, and Cloud Computing. All bootcamp courses are online and self-paced. Students work on real-world, practical projects. Anyone is welcome to apply to the bootcamps, but basic IT skills are advised. Graduates of all bootcamps receive a Certificate of Completion from Hofstra University.

Students of the 28-week Cybersecurity bootcamp learn Python, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, and Security. Cybersecurity students are prepared for the Ethical Hacking Certification. Students will learn Cloud Security Tools, OS Vulnerabilities Exploitation, Multi-Level Pivoting, XSFR, and IoT Hacking. At the end of the course, students can choose one of two electives that will either prepare them for the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) certificate or the CompTIA PenTest+ certificate. Students complete a capstone project based on the elective they chose. Students spend the final weeks in interactive project labs.

In the 28-week full stack Web Development bootcamp, students learn front end and back end programming languages, such as JavaScript, HTML5, React, and MySQL. Web Development students also learn Node.js, Express.js, React.js, Bootstrap, and Wordpress. Students will first learn to build static web pages using HTML and CSS. Then, students build interactive web pages using JavaScript and jQuery. Students learn Responsive Web Design and how to use open source design frameworks. Students learn how to code inside Git and will learn to manage code over time. Throughout the bootcamp, students will complete mini-projects that are reviewed by instructors. Students receive at least 4 hours of live coaching every week.

The 26-week Data Science bootcamp teaches students how to analyze and visualize data with Excel and Power BI. Students learn Azure HDInsight to manage Cloud resources, Spark to process and analyze large batches of data, machine learning, R programming, Python, predictive analysis, and Transact-SQL to manipulate large data sets and relational data sets. Data Science students also learn analytics storytelling for impact, ethics and law in Data Analysis, and essential math for machine learning. Students choose their own “bonus courses” for the final two weeks of the bootcamp, and options include Introduction to R for Data Science or Essential Math for Machine Learning: R Edition.

In the 28-week Data Analytics bootcamp, students learn Python, Data Visualization techniques, concepts of machine learning, predictive analytics, Power BI, Excel, and Transact-SQL. Students learn Data Analysis math using Excel, as well as report design, pivot tables, and building dashboards in Excel. Students learn how to present organizational data in engaging ways. Data Analytics students will also learn how malicious hackers attack systems and learn the tactics needed to thwart online attacks. Student learn advanced manipulation of data using hands-on coding with Microsoft Power BI and developer APIs. In the final two weeks, students create a capstone project applicable for real-world organizations and industries.

The 16-week Cloud Computing bootcamp prepares students to take the Comp TIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTia Cloud+, Azure Fundamentals, GNU/Linux, and AWS certification tests. Cloud Computing students learn the fundamentals of Azure and Linux for beginners, including Apache, MySQL, and PHP on Ubuntu. Students learn TCP/IP, remote networking, cloud and visualization techniques, and network infrastructure.  Students learn the fundamentals of AWS, including storage services, network services, security and identity, and monitoring & management.

Career guidance is included in all Hofstra University bootcamps. Students also have access to talk to an IT mentor twice per week. After graduation, career counselors will continue mentoring students until they secure full-time employment. If a bootcamp graduate has not been hired within twelve months, Hofstra University offers a full tuition refund.

Bootcamp students who pay the full cost of tuition upfront receive a discount. Alternatively, students may choose to pay tuition in interest-free installments each month either during the bootcamp duration or after completing the bootcamp (an enrollment fee is required). Scholarships are also offered for qualifying bootcamp applicants.

Hofstra University bootcamps are powered by Quickstart.

I have received my official certificate today. There is no doubt that I have learned the best course in this Bootcamp. I'm planning my postgraduate studies through their postgraduate support platform. The tutor's support system gave me the chance to ask anything I found difficult while working in the hands-on lab. I have learned MySQL, Coding Concepts, HTML & CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJs, and I perfected them by working on many industry-relevant projects. This is not a theoretical course but the connection to an ideal world. I'm expecting a call from a tech industry I applied through the tutor's interview guide.

I learnt a lot from this Bootcamp despite not being a native speaker. I’ve always tried to learn python from YouTube for years, but never really got a hand of it. This course introduced me to much more concepts than I ever imagined. Completing the lectures and working on the virtual lab helped me quickly catch unto python. I can now use both Python and R programming, which was like a dream years ago.

Partaking in this course has been one of the most amazing 6 months of learning and career development. I was able to connect with professionals who gave me valuable tips on the life mentoring section.

    Thanks!
