The Applied AI & Data Science course offered by MIT in collaboration with Great Learning has been an excellent learning experience. The program provides a strong combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, making complex concepts in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science much easier to understand and apply in real-world scenarios.

What I particularly appreciate about the program is the well-structured curriculum, practical approach, and exposure to relevant tools and techniques. The course has helped me strengthen my understanding of AI and Data Science while also developing a more practical, problem-solving mindset.

A special mention goes to Rashi, the Program Manager, who has been extremely supportive, approachable, and helpful throughout the program. Rashu is always responsive to questions and concerns and makes sure that participants have the guidance and support they need. The proactive communication and willingness to help have made the overall learning experience much smoother and more enjoyable.

Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to build or strengthen their skills in Applied AI and Data Science. The combination of MIT’s academic expertise, Great Learning’s program delivery, practical learning, and excellent learner support makes this a valuable and worthwhile experience.

The MIT Applied AI and Data Science Program was an intensive, challenging, and highly rewarding learning experience. The program strengthened my knowledge of Python, data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, Generative AI, and the practical application of data science techniques to real-world business problems.One of the program’s greatest strengths was the combination of MIT faculty lectures, hands-on assignments, mentored learning sessions, and practical projects. This structure helped me move beyond theoretical concepts and develop a clearer understanding of how to build, evaluate, interpret, and communicate AI and data science solutions.The Capstone Project was especially valuable because it required me to apply the knowledge acquired throughout the program to solve a business problem from end to end. From data preparation and model development to performance evaluation and the final presentation, the project significantly increased my confidence in applying data science in professional environments.Completing the program while maintaining a full-time career in consulting required considerable dedication. I gave up many weekends with my family and invested several additional hours after work, often studying from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Although demanding, the experience was worth the effort.I am completing the program with stronger technical skills, a better understanding of responsible and interpretable AI, and a greater ability to connect technology, data, and business strategy. I would recommend this program to professionals who are prepared to commit the necessary time and want to develop practical, industry-relevant skills in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. My experience in the MIT Professional Education Applied AI & Data Science Program, delivered with Great Learning, was extremely valuable and practical. As an executive, one of my main objectives was not only to learn the technical concepts, but to become better equipped to engage with data, analytics, and technology teams in more meaningful conversations. The program helped me build a stronger understanding of data science, machine learning, and Generative AI from both a business and technical perspective, allowing me to better connect strategic objectives with analytical methods, model outputs, and implementation considerations.One of the most valuable parts of the program was the project-based structure. For the capstone, having the option to choose from multiple business and technical project areas helped me better understand the expected outcomes and select a project that aligned with my own business interests. The project then walked me through the technical concepts in a practical way, while the guided questions pushed me to think analytically about the problem, the data, the methodology, the results, and the business recommendations.The program was challenging, but the support made a meaningful difference. The program manager and support staff were responsive, approachable, and quick to help with questions, technical issues, or submission concerns. The teaching staff and professors were also very knowledgeable, open to Q&A, and generous with their time, including sharing additional ways to connect and ask follow-up questions outside of class. That level of academic and program support helped make the learning experience much more manageable and engaging.Overall, the program strengthened how I think about AI, data-driven decision-making, and business problem solving. I feel more confident discussing AI and analytics in a professional setting, and I would recommend the program to learners who want a rigorous but practical introduction to applied AI and data science. Credibility or certification on knowledge that I already knew - was the idea. But this course surprised me by strengthening and expanding my knowledge base. The it has also provided a springboard for advancement in my professional career. After being laid off, I decided to do something different and this course was part of that plan. I am grateful for choosing this as part of my path. I now have a job where I am helping with Ai Innovation in managing compliance risk. I do not take this lightly when I say this was a doozy and a commitment but teh end result has been rewarding. You want to get your Ai journey right, then I would recommend this course. The Applied AI and Data Science Program was exactly what I had hoped it would be. I was specifically looking for something that went in depth on Data Science and not just go straight into AI so that I’d have a deeper foundation. The program is more comprehensive than many of the other certifications that I looked into. Since it covers so much information, the time you invest into it will determine how much you will get out of it.  The professors did a good job introducing you to the mathematics if you wanted to go deeper into it but also made sure to get the concepts across for those of use who don’t have a math degree. It’s still useful even though I didn’t have a math degree because python handles the underlying calculations as long as I understood what it does, why it works that way, when to use it and how to interpret the results. Every module had a coding component to make application concrete. The lectures with MIT professors were more conceptual and the weekend sessions with the mentors focused on the code application. I appreciated that recordings of the weekday sessions could be watched at a later time for the purposes of attendance credit since most of us in the cohort had day jobs. The recordings of the lectures and mentor sessions are available for a year post the program and I expect I’ll revisit the recordings as I apply the techniques over the coming months. There are also 2 tracks: code from scratch or low code that focuses more on the interpretation and conceptual application of the techniques. This is useful because it tailors the program to people with different roles at work, and makes the content accessible for those who don’t have a programming background. The low code version still exposes you to code so you still get concrete experience. Each cohort is assigned a program manager who is there to support you every step of the way. My program manager, Urvashi, was amazingly supportive. She proactively reach out throughout the program to help you stay on track to complete it. It was also helpful to have one person to go to with all of my questions (logistics, content etc.) and if its a topic she didn’t cover she would route us to the appropriate person. The program includes a job assistance module that I did not use so I didn’t rate it. Read less

I am so glad I chose Great Learnings as the platform to learn artificial intelligence and machine learning. Their pairing with John’s Hopkins University was unique and made available PH.D level instructors and their perspectives on the current and future states of AI integration.  The course work was appropriately challenging whether you were a novice like me or experienced like others.  The weekly live sessions were taught by people well experience in their fields. They were able to answer all questions or point you to the proper resource if they didn’t know the answer. Lastly, our Program Manager Miriam, was very supportive. I had a great experience with the Applied Data Science Program by MIT Professional Education. The website is very intuitive and easy to use, and the lessons are clearly explained.What I appreciated most is that the program does not only provide theory. There are many examples, code exercises, complementary learning materials, and guided projects. In the guided projects, you code together with the instructor, which makes it much easier to understand the logic step by step instead of just reading already finished code.Overall, it was a very valuable learning experience. The structure, explanations, practical examples, and additional resources make the program highly effective for anyone who wants to build a solid foundation in applied data science.

I recently completed the Applied Generative AI Certificate Program by Johns Hopkins University, delivered through Great Learning, and it has been an exceptional learning experience. The program is thoughtfully structured and strikes the right balance between strong theoretical foundations and practical implementation. Every module builds progressively, making it easy to understand both the fundamentals and advanced concepts of Generative AI. The assignments, quizzes, and capstone projects challenged me to apply what I learned and significantly strengthened my understanding.

What I appreciated most was the program's focus on real-world applications rather than just teaching concepts. It encouraged me to think about how technologies such as NLP, Large Language Models, Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, Guardrails, and Fine-tuning can be used to solve business problems.
