Overall I'm happy with Data quest. The lessons are thorough and understandable. Sometimes they refer to outside links for the theoretical stuff, which I'm ok with, and they give a good concise explanation of what you'll need. 

The projects are a mixed bag. Some are just a rehash of the material, so there's value added in that you take what you've learned and apply it. But frequently I need to look at the "solution" notebook for a few cells that were totally not in the material. I know real world is like that, but I am sometimes left wondering "how was I supposed to know that?"

My journey with Dataquest began with an online Microsoft program offering scholarships for students to learn Azure. As I started using the platform, I discovered an amazing community that encouraged engagement through sharing and collaboration. I stumbled upon the machine learning material and eagerly began learning. While I had prior project experience, Dataquest inspired me to share my learnings on social media, taking on the role of a teacher to break down concepts for others.
After consistently sharing for about 4 months, I received an invitation to interview for a machine learning engineer position at Meta. They were impressed with my profile and passion for learning. During the initial screening, I realized the need to brush up on data structures and algorithms, and once again, I turned to Dataquest for guidance. As a senior medical student, I'm not seeking full-time roles, but the interview experience—simply from posting about my learning journey—has been incredibly rewarding and proves that anyone willing to go the extra mile can do it.
I love how Dataquest encourages learning in public and emphasizes the value of peer support. Their incremental learning approach helps learners grasp concepts deeply, which, from my experience, is exactly what top companies seek: individuals who understand the fundamentals and can explain them clearly to anyone.

I've used dataquest for about 3~4 months in my university (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN) as a complementar material for the subject Algorithms and Data Structure II. In this subject, we study algotithm complexity, graphs and much more, so the dataquest courses helped me so much to understand these topics. So far I'm mostly happy with the quality of the courses but will not be renewing my subscription due to a disappointing customer service experience. Don't expect ANY flexibility on the company's behalf once they have your money. Once you create a free account, you are served incessant ads, banners and emails to purchase the premium service. Eventually I did, but immediately thereafter, difficult personal circumstances arose that forced me to delay my start by about one month. I wrote, not to request a refund, but simply a one month extension. I had not logged in or completed any courses in this time. I was hopeful my request would be honored, as a new customer with plans to renew my subscription. But at the very least, a thoughtful response would have sufficed. Instead I received a one-line email response declining my request.. My subsequent emails asking to turn-off auto-renew were ignored for days. I finally heard back from someone who lectured me that subscription courses are about "access" and not "usage." While this may be true, they've lost out on at least a couple hundred dollars of revenue from me (and I suspect others) due to their inflexibility. So long story short, don't expect any kind of human element here. Dreadful customer service. I look forward to taking my business elsewhere.  Read less

I've been using Dataquest for about 2 months and it's been a great experience thus far. My experience with the support team, to the various resources available on Dataquest, the "learn by doing" teaching, and the ability to learn at your own pace. Additionally, seems quite in dept compared to the boot camp I'm currently enrolled in. One knock on Dataquest compared to bootcamps the lack of career support if you are happening to be switching careers. They have supplementary sources on their blog on how to best position yourself for a career in data analytics though.

If you are a beginner in data science, this is the best place to start your journey towards a wonderful career. Data is the new oil. And by learning Data Science from Dataquest will make sure that you will have a thorough foundation to pursue this career. Now let me get this straight, There is no course on the internet that is going to teach you everything about data science. And that is because data science is a really vast field. It would take years to become expert in it.

What Dataquest does best is that it makes sure that their students have a thorough foundation in data science. That is, if you learn from Dataquest, you will be ready to take on the toughest data science course on the internet. And why is that? It is because unlike other websites, Dataquest never goes easy on their students to make sure that their students develop problem-solving skills which are very crucial in data science.

The best part is the Dataquest community. A very active helping community. No matter what problem you are facing in data science, most of the time you will get a thorough solution from the community. I can assure you that after going through their course you will be completely satisfied with the knowledge you have attained.

I had an easy semester so started wading into DS in my free time. I had no idea which direction to begin working towards though, so I took a chance on Dataquest. UI is smooth and simple, curriculum is pretty great at setting the ground work for several essential skills. I went in knowing no Python or SQL and not even a year later I'm writing scripts and doing basic database management at work. It's put me near the top of my Deep Learning class as well.

It's definitely not the only resource I use, but it's usually my first step when something new springs up at work or school. In less than a few days you can walk through pretty great intro/moderate/advanced notes and exercises that set you up for figuring things out on your own.

I'll probs renew at least one more year.

A lot of people will say you shouldn't pay for info that's free online, but DataQuest puts lessons and projects in one convenient location. It's worth paying for if you're a busy student or have even a part time job. Even at cost, it's way more affordable than almost all bootcamps.

I am finishing the Data Analyst course, and I think it is the best course of data science field I have done. I have experience with others Coursera and Udemy courses, but this one has the best approach. The classes are well explaned and there is a lot of pratice. I definilly will start the Data Scientist Path in the next months.

I'm being thought everything I need to know from the ground up so non-computer science background persons can learn data science. The program is well structured so I don't have to worry about what I need to learn next. The cost for the course is much cheaper than the quality of the course

Dataquest Data Scientist path is a great way to learn Data Science for me. I find the interactive form really attractive and convenient. Course is divided into modules small enough that you don't have to spend lots of time on learning continuosly. I tried other approaches to DS before - video courses took too much time on theory, other interactive courses curriculum were less complex than Dataquest. I really recomend this course.

My experience with Dataquest is phenomenal to say the least.  I enrolled at their Premium plan and I'm currently taking their Data Science Path.

I'm just two months into the program and I must say that I'm learning a lot.  Trust me when I say this because I have no technical background whatsoever (my training is in the social sciences).  I'm not going to convince you that their course offerings are beds of roses.  Quite the contrary, the lessons are tough as nails and you need to put in the hours and burn the midnight oil.

I have a confession to make. It takes me hours (sometimes days) to figure out a mission (they call exercises missions).  Like I said, I have no technical background that's why it's taking me a long time to figure things out.  After a month, I was kind of frustrated and was thinking of giving up.

Then I reached out to Dataquest support to tell them my concern.  24 hours later I got a heartfelt response that encourages me to stay the path and just continue with the course.

Dataquest has a solid team of experts who can help you out plus a Slack community that is more than willing to answer your every question.  So, I soldiered on (and still is soldiering on).

Unlike other online courses (yes, I tried other online courses, too!) in which majority of the tutorials are in video format (and that takes more time to do), I happen to like Dataquest's no BS, straight up teaching methodology.  They give you contents to read, explain exhaustively the learning material, and give you exercises to solve.  What else can you ask for?  They teach you, then they let you solve problems!

I got interested in Data Science many years ago even before it was called data science.  The challenge I had years ago was that there's no platform like Dataquest that will let me learn techniques according to my pace and available time.  I'm at my 40s and working for a digital marketing agency and I couldn't wait to apply what I'm learning to my company.

The course has been really helpful on dataquest. I am a premium subscriber of the service and I have been very satisfied with the course content. I am currently enrolled in Business Analyst with Power BI course and it has been exceptional. However, I'd still like to outline some feedback of the course: 
• All the excel courses are really amazing, just hoping if there were more tests, practice exercises and assessments on top of what's already there so that the repetition etches the concepts in the brain. 
• The SQL course has been very easy to follow and understand. Just the right amount of text, not wordy, and also has short video clips to teach the concepts and lessons. There are more practice exercises for SQL, however, you have to navigate to a different page. 
• The Power BI course can become a little overwhelming with the information and all the text; I also think it can be simplified to a greater extent to not make it wordy. For example, a lot of text can be broken into smaller paragraphs, can include short video clips, and pictures to make the course easy-to-follow.

It was an easy and great experience where you can practice directly and you dont have to set up an environment, where you can start right away and practice. I like how the guided projects are easily guided and helps you to create your own projects. It is very work oriented and I love every minute practicing on it! Read less

I love Dataquest, it´s easy to use &  follow and it gives me full concepts & exercises along theory. The content is clear & elaborate. It is tailored to learn at your own pace, the only downsize I see, there´s no teamates or teachers, but it´s different learning style. Read less
