I started at Coder Foundry in June or July of 2022. I was certainly not the best developer in my cohort by anyone's measure, but everyone there helped me catch up on any concepts that I was having trouble with, combined with me studying in my free time if I wasn't too tired (the course is fairly rigorous, especially in the second half). After I graduated, Kelly helped me find a job by giving my resume and my portfolio page to recruiters all the time, and it led to me finding my first job in software development only a little while after I graduated in September or October. I was recently laid off from that job, and even then, the team at Coder Foundry put me right back into their rotation of resumes that they send to recruiters, and I was able to find a job within two weeks of being laid off. I have nothing but great things to say about the process, and especially the after-graduation support that they give you.

I had virtually no coding experience before this boot camp and I've just landed my first job as a Full Stack .NET Developer today, about one month after graduating! The instructors here are awesome and very patient. If you put in the work you will get the results you are after and having someone with tons of experience there to answer any question you have is beyond helpful. Our instructor, Antonio, did an amazing job explaining concepts to us and preparing us for interviews. After graduating, I received outstanding assistance from Kelly in securing a job. I cannot express how thankful I am to have found this bootcamp.

Went into the course knowing nothing about coding, accepted my first job offer as a .NET developer just a few months later. The instructors there are there the whole way, making sure to help you individually until you understand whatever you're struggling with. They stick with you after the bootcamp to continue giving guidance. The job assistance is just as great, they help you market yourself and give you many networking opportunities. Overall the course has the potential to make you a developer so long as you put in the work.

I honestly can't say enough good things about Coder Foundry. I'm sure we all have experiences in courses or in classes where it feels like they are just pushing you toward passing a test and padding their success rate. This isn't that, at all. From the recruiter, to the instructors, and even to the founder of the program, you immediately feel a sense of welcoming, and a want to help you succeed. The instructors worked with my cohort to make sure we not only finished the projects we were given, but that we truly understood our code and knew what we were doing, line by line, so that we could thrive in the industry post-class. This wasn't a pass-or-fail, "here's the info, do this, make sure you graduate" setting. Everyone involved from the Coder Foundry team truly wants to make sure you succeed and land the career you want and watch you do great things with the knowledge they're passing on to you. I will be forever grateful for everything I've learned over this short amount of time. Shout out to Antonio and Jacob.

I built grown up apps with coder foundry. I appreciate them for the same. Compared to other bootcamps, these apps really look and feel professional. Students do great as long as they can put in the work, stay on course and ask good questions. I was comfortable with most of the content but the first c# app we built, felt overwhelming. It was a sign of growth if anything. I stayed on course, looked at problems with a small scope by breaking them down and after the second app I built,  I felt really better about the understanding. Enough that I was able to build extra functionalities with ease.

I first found Coder Foundry 2 years before I was able to apply, I had to wait for the right time and moment to become an applicant.  I had joined another online boot camp that has gained a lot of traction since Covid first started back in 2018, and my experience was just okay to say the least.  In my heart I knew Coder Foundry was the right place to be.  I became hooked through a different lens.  You have an owner of a company putting his face on the internet, not pushing an agenda, giving an honest opinion whether you go to his school or not.  Some may say this could be a car salesman tactic, I've been bamboozled by car dealers my entire life and Bobby is not one of them.  He is genuine, he cares about everyone's success.  Once I was able to be enrolled in the 2023 cohort, it was go time!  All of the Instructors are rooting for your success, they are available, immersive and accessible pretty much at all times for 3 months during the cohort and the extended time looking for work.  There are not enough words to express my gratitude for the knowledge I have been given.  My biggest wish for Coder Foundry is for large corporations to take in the students once graduated as their employees on a contract-to-hire basis.  Coder Foundry sets the bar extremely high for junior level developers coming in.  More companies need to take a look at this and recognize that we are set apart from your "normal" junior developer looking for work.  I would highly recommend Coder Foundry to anyone stepping into the tech footprint.

I went to another bootcamp before this one and realized too late it wasn't what I was looking for even though I asked questions beforehand. They reassured me everything was going to be ok, but it wasn't. When I stumbled upon Coder Foundry on YouTube, everything they were saying resonated so greatly with what I was searching for and Coder Foundry tells you everything up front. It's going to be work and you're going to need to dedicate your time for the full 12 weeks but definitely worth it in the end!

I joined Coder Foundry for their March 2023 cohort as I was specifically looking for a course that would help me build a portfolio of work using Microsoft's .NET framework that would leave a great impression with potential employers, and one that had a dedicated job assistance program that would guide you through to breaking into the industry with your new found experience. Through my research, I found that Coder Foundry was the best choice for me, as they were one of the best reviewed bootcamps teaching the tech stack I wanted to learn the most. I chose to take part in the 3 month Intensive Virtual Full Stack Development course because I knew I would get the most out of having a structured learning schedule, along with the direct guidance and help from the course's amazing instructors, Jacob and Antonio.

Through the 12 week course, I was able to create a portfolio site along with 6 frontend web applications and 3 full stack web applications that would become the basis of my body of work. The guidance and experience of the instructors were second to none, and with their help I was able to learn concepts much quicker and with a much deeper understanding than I would have on my own. This is not to say that everything was a cake walk. The hours and dedication necessary to achieve in this course goes beyond what is spent during class time, and it will take considerable work to be successful, even with the help of the instructors. But for those that are willing to put in that work, the outcome is well worth it. The skills you will learn here are not just applicable to the tech stack that is taught at Coder Foundry, as you will gain the confidence and tools necessary to learn, and gain more skills beyond what you learnt during the course.

After completing the course I worked with Kelly, who spearheads the job assistance program. She is wonderful to work with and will never let you believe that you cannot be successful in this industry. With her help I was able to improve my online profile considerably and advertise to potential employers that I am a legitimate software developers with the knowledge and skills to show for it. You will be so thankful to have her on your side as she instills great confidence in you with her attitude and dedication to helping Coder Foundry alumni. I was able to apply to a vastly greater number of jobs due to the sheer quantity of opportunities she was sharing with me daily, as well as the considerable amount of outreach to recruiters she did on my behalf.

I can easily say that without the help and guidance of everyone at Coder Foundry, I would not be where am I today.

After a lot of research, I decided to apply for Coder Foundry and fortunately was accepted into the live instructor-led class. I definitely do not regret this decision. Jacob and Antonio were some of the best instructors I have had to date even after completion of my bachelor's degree. I can confidently say that Coder Foundry was THE reason I was offered a job. As Antonio said, the hardest part is the job application process. It took 5 months until I landed a role and during that time, I would be lying if I didn’t feel discouraged at times with countless rejection emails or no response at all. Don’t let that stop you from applying. It only takes one yes! I also would like to thank Kelly Davis for her help in remaining dedicated to forwarding all available opportunities that were to my preferences.

I would recommend this program to anyone who is ready to put in the work and can remain dedicated to the process, both during class and afterward during the job hunt.

I have first-hand seen Coder Foundry transform people's careers! I have met a handful of Coder Foundry graduates in-person who now work as junior and mid-level developers.  I therefore became convinced that I could pursue software engineering as well, and gain strong training through CF to help me in my first developer role. I was blown away by the quality of this program and the down-to-earth attitudes of the team. I now have a modern, online portfolio, multiple sessions of interview prep with a revised resume and Linkedin portfolio, and even a recruiter to advocate for me and aid me in my career placement journey. I recommend this bootcamp to anyone who is willing and excited to dive into working with professionals, as almost an apprentice, asking questions at all times, as the teachers Jacob and Antonio are readily available. This bootcamp starts from the very basics, the foundation of great, manageable code. So do not shy away from it if you feel like you lack knowledge. The team will set you up with what you need to know to be a great, and most importantly, hirable, Junior Developer.

I conducted extensive research across various platforms, including Course Report, to find the perfect course for my needs. After careful consideration, I chose Coder Foundry for several compelling reasons. Since I couldn't attend an in-person program, I sought a course that offered a favorable teacher-to-student ratio, a well-structured plan and curriculum to enhance skills and build a portfolio that effectively showcased my abilities. Additionally, it was important to me that the instructors remained consistent throughout the entire cohort, rather than changing with each new section. Essentially, I desired a personalized experience that could closely replicate in-person learning.

Coder Foundry met all of these criteria. The class size averaged around 15 students, allowing for plenty of interaction with the two full-time instructors. They continually updated the curriculum based on valuable feedback from recruiters and hiring managers, ensuring its relevance and alignment with industry needs. The course progression commenced with building a portfolio as the foundation for establishing an online presence, followed by tackling various Javascript challenges commonly encountered during interviews to enhance programming language proficiency. Finally, the course delved into constructing at least three Full-stack .NET applications. Throughout the journey, the unwavering guidance and support from Antonio, Jacob, and Bobby proved invaluable in honing my skills within a mere 12-week timeframe.

Thanks to the exceptional staff at Coder Foundry and the rambunctious group that was the Astra Cohort, I had a remarkable experience that truly simulated an in-person learning environment to the greatest extent possible. As a result, I wholeheartedly recommend this program.

This bootcamp was everything I'd hoped it would be and more. I’ve learned more about coding in the past three months than I’ve learned on my own in a decade. I can't overstate how helpful it is to have instructors with actual experience explain in detail how to write code for practical, useful projects. Being able to ask questions whenever you're struggling with a concept and getting feedback on your code are the crucial pieces that are missing from youtube tutorials and self-paced courses. Antonio, Jacob, and Bobby are incredible at what they do and they can explain complex concepts in a way that's very easy to understand. If you've ever tried to learn to code on your own but felt like you just weren't getting it, or you just want to learn from actual professionals, you should definitely take this course.

I am someone with a computer science degree and I am also that someone that has taken a bunch of Udemy course. So, I have had experience with lots of instructors and how they teach development. That being said, nothing comes close to what coder foundry has given to me. The instructors are really patient with you, it doesn't matter how many times you ask a question, they always have a smile on their face and they make sure that NO ONE is left behind. I had always struggled with building full stack applications because there's a lot that goes into it. Coder Foundry covers every tiny aspect about it, you will learn about front-end, back-end, database, and even deploying your applications. In all, it's a very very positive learning environment. There's only one regret that I have and that's not enrolling with them sooner, I could have developed my skills so much if I started early. I can't recommend them enough, their course and guidance is worth every penny. (Way better than my 6 years of time and money spent in school).

Additionally, they stay connected with you even after you graduate. They are constantly putting job applications, checking on with everyone to see if they are doing okay. I have experienced 10/10 support from them even after graduation from their bootcamp. Super genuine staff who genuinely wants to see their students succeed.

My experience at Coder Foundry was excellent. For some context, I'm a person that learned PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, Node, and MySQL on my own but was never confident that I was doing things properly let alone good enough to get a job. I went down a rabbit hole of calling and gathering information about every BootCamp I could and CF ultimately took the crown. The transparency of Bobby and Kevin on YouTube was a major part of my decision and the commitment Kelly had to follow up with me sealed the deal. They were the only BootCamp that would provide a strict syllabus that defined the exact technologies being taught. The price for CF is steep but extremely fair when you look at the pricing of other boot camps, boot camps that won't even tell you the exact technologies you'll be learning. Since I had a passion for the craft I thought it was a good investment, I paid upfront. In the first couple of weeks, we went over HTML, CSS, JS, Git, and Bootstrap and it was painful, for ME. It was painful because there were students that didn't do a lick of programming in their life and really had to be taught the basics of basic. It blew my mind that someone was willing to shell out that amount of money into the program when they didn't even know if they enjoyed programming. That aside, Bobby, the owner, did an excellent job teaching them and I did learn some things or two.

After the basics, we moved on to C#, again some struggles with students without any prior knowledge but Antonio is a beast and did an excellent job breaking everything down. Every project is independent (as it should be) and if you have any issues you can ask other students or Antonio.

We completed 3 enterprise-level C# ASP.NET MVC apps, all with authentication, authorization, database, CRUD, email, and file service.
The first application is a lot of hand-holding, and the 2 others are more on your own until you have issues and you can ask away.

I finished the BootCamp on the 23rd of September and signed my offer letter with a local company as a Software Developer the following Tuesday. I still use code that I wrote in class in the applications I build today.

This was a very thorough course that stays up-to-date with the newest technologies and continuously incorporates feedback from hiring companies. I left this course feeling very prepared for the job market and was being presented to companies as a candidate even prior to formal graduation! If you work hard, communicate well, and trust in the process, these amazing instructors will make sure you have everything you need to succeed. Cons: Course can be expensive and/or time-consuming as it's an immersive course, but it is well worth the cost and effort & is truly the best way to learn a language. P.S. The bug tracker capstone project is insanely powerful and VERY cool to show off!

This bootcamp has taught me so much it is hard to put into words. In the past 3 months I've went from not being able to make my web page say "Hello World" to being able to build complex MVC projects. When I first did my interview with Bobby about the class, I knew it was the right place for me. He is so kind and truly makes you feel like you have known him for years. The instructors are great. Antonio and Jacob are like a walking book of knowledge, and they were there to help me whenever I needed. Kelly is absolutely amazing also! Every time I needed something about my job search or questions about the class, she was just an email way and responded very quickly.   I'm actually telling my friends to change their career and join this class so If you're reading this, I would highly suggest you doing so! Who is this program for? Someone who can dedicate 50-60 hours/wk for 12 weeks of immersive, intensive full stack training AND is serious about getting a job in web/software development.  Tell your family/friends that this program is your number 1 priority for the duration. It is 8 hours/day of live interactive learning. I went into the program unsure if a virtual program would be as useful as an in-person experience, but CF did not disappoint. The instructors not only teach but are active developers which means they are current on industry trends and issues. I asked as many questions as I needed within the lectures and received help whenever I needed it. Bobby teaches the first 3 weeks of the class, covering frontend HTML, CSS JavaScript and Bootstrap5. There is a heavy emphasis on Bootstrap(which I think is practical) and responsive design. We spent only a week or so on JS before heading off into C# and other backend technologies. Before starting this program, I would recommend you use free online resources to familiarize yourself with JS. I wish I had a little more background in JS--it would have made that week easier. Backend (ASP.NET, C#, Sql, API etc) is taught by Antonio and Jason.  You do not code your own projects, but work as a group coding pre-determined full stack projects(for us, the Address book, Blog and Bug Tracker) that encompass all the primary skills needed to demonstrate to potential employers. While I understand this approach, I wish we had the opportunity during the cohort to code one or more of our own features. After graduation, the job placement services were fantastic. Kelly presents both curated postings from various job sites and opportunities coming directly from employers recruiting CF grads. She posts to the alumni channel as well as messaging grads directly if she  feels an opportunity would be of particular interest. She was instrumental in my job search with advice and leads. She directed me to my current position.  CF is well worth the investment--both in time and money. My career has a solid foundation now.

Really great instructors and staff.  One of the most valuable resources I think they offer is job assistance.  Preparing for a developer interview can feel daunting but Coder Foundry walks with you and teaches you how to prepare and more importantly how to win!  There was a time during my job search I felt discouraged about an interview I had coming up.  I reached out to the instructors and was given a mock interview to help me prepare as well as a much-needed pep talk to boost my confidence. I would recommend it.  Just remember you get what you put in, you won't be successful anywhere if you don't give it your best foot.

Attending Coder Foundry was the best choice I made in 2021. The teaching faculty is second to none, and on more than one occassion, I received help outside of class hours to help me understand a concept that I struggled with. They're absolutely committed to student success in the classroom, and through their partnership with TEKsystems, I've been supported through the job search as well. Coder Foundry's self-paced course, which is available to students in the immersive course, also functions as a great tool for review, which gives Coder Foundry a leg up on other bootcamps.

So to be transparent I had 9 months of C# experience before Coder Foundry bootcamp when I was learning Game development with C# and Unity game engine and dabbled in WinForms and WPF a little bit as well. So Coder Foundry is a C# and .Net focused bootcamp that focuses on Web Development. Web Dev is alot different than Game Dev or Desktop applications, so if you even if you have alot of C# experience but never tocuhed web you will learn alot. Even with previous knowledge I still learned so much and it was a blessing because I was able to pick up on everything alot quicker and remember it easier as well. I did have to humble myself when part of me wanted to the Instructor's job of teaching or when I wanted to teach my classmates advanced topics that weren't really relevant at the time.

Coder Foundry is a bootcamp so everything is fast paced since there is only 3 months of teaching. The instructors are patient with us as the students and are ok with repeating concepts until we all get it and if one person still struggles they will help that person in a separate room(we used Zoom so breakout room). The way they do things is teach a little and then have you do lab sessions to immediately put to use what you just learned. It may feel like they are wasting all those dollars your paying just to have you figure a bunch of stuff out on your own but honestly it helps cement the information and they are there to help you if you need it, just ask. They teach encourage you to figure stuff out on your own because that's what you'll have to do one day anyways but they guide and point you in the right direction. They are teaching you to be developers instead of teaching you and having you fill a multiple choice test or instead learning a bunch of data structures and algorithms like someone with 4years of college will learn.

Because the teachers are patient with people who are struggling we didn't complete everything in the syllabus, which sucked but was still worth the 15,000 - 18,000 I will be paying one day. They do have a Self-paced course you can purchase access to for a monthly fee if your skeptical. I will say some of the biggest things that helped me in the bootcamp where learning how to debug each others problems. Seeing all the ways I could mess up in the future, the networking with classmates and teachers, being able to ask questions for more understanding instead of just watching a youtube video and trying to figure out the stuff they forgot to mention. And after being mostly isolated for 9 months because Coronavirus and not being in school for many years it got me used to talking to people again and asking questions even if I felt dumb and it got me more comfortable with Zoom which is must have skill after this pandemic we went thru alot of jobs will probably interview with Zoom so it's good to get comfortable with it.

Also ask questions, your paying a lot of money so ask away so you can get understanding. I'm mainly an introvert but I tried to ask questions alot. It also helps people that more introverted than you or scared to ask questions, you will help out the whole class. There were sometimes when the instructors took longer breaks for lunch and that bothered some days because I felt jipped on my education and other days it was great cuz I needed a break. Also as far as job search I feel like they could of done better but they were in a transition period when I joined because there job recruiter just left the company and they now have a new partnership so future classes will benefit(I also benefit from their new partnership it just happened after the bootcamp). Also with job prep I feel like they were lacking. We were supposed to do mandatory mock interviews but we never did them(some classmates did have an opportunity but it a just a few) and I'm the kind of person that needs to be forced to do something like that, if given a choice I will say no. Besides not completing all of the projects they said we would do(just 1 we only half completed) and the lack of job prep Coder Foundry is still a great bootcamp and I would highly recommend it.

If your on the fence take the software developer quiz on their website, that literally made the difference from me being a hobby game dev guy for the rest of my life to becoming a full stack web developer who can make a career change from working in restaurants/bars/factories /warehouses to someone who can code for a living.

This is a great boot camp. I had previous development experience. In 12 weeks I've grown immensely as a developer. From the onset, the instructors are very all senior-level developers with years of experience. I loved building the real-life projects that we build in the boot camp. The instructors teach you to leverage your projects in interviews. If you want to become a .net full stack developer. This is the boot camp that you need. I got a job under a week after completing the boot camp.

I was a complete coding newbie and the immersive learning style really helped me learn.  The 12 weeks were very difficult, but very worth it.  The variety they taught felt overwhelming at the time, but looking at the job descriptions, I see they provided us with the well-rounded skills hiring people are looking for. And due to the reputation Coder Foundry has, I feel more hiring managers are contacting me on LinkedIn which is increasing my job opportunities.

Great bootcamp. The projects were incredibly valuable and the way they teach you to leverage them in interviews made a huge difference in my interview process. The staff are all senior-level developers with years of experience, no TAs or recent grads teaching courses. C# and .NET are awesome tools but very complex and I appreciated having skilled developers teaching us how to use them correctly. I HIGHLY recommend coming into this bootcamp with a good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as these are really easy to teach yourself and will allow you to focus more on learning the ins and outs of C#/.NET rather than struggling with the basics. I had self-studied HTML/CSS/JS for about 6 months using some Udemy courses prior to starting and it definitely made my life easier when I got to the bootcamp because having a foundation in JavaScript made it easier to transition to C# and let me focus more on learning how .NET worked. Overall I'd say this is the best bootcamp out there!

    The good and the bad

Read more Read less of Josh Casteel's review
I held off from writing this review until I got my first job. I attended the April-June 2020 cohort. They don't give public rankings but I was told at one point that I was one of the top 2 students of my cohort. The benefits of that were getting to do interview practice with Bobby, the founder. That only happened twice, and instead of doing interview practice every week we skipped it for the last 4-5 weeks.

The good: Jason and Drew were the instructors for the course. They're both very approachable and knowledgable. I learned a lot from them. The portfolio you build is pretty good, if you put in the work. If you fall behind or write crap code that works but is obviously the wrong way of doing it, you won't have time to fix it and the instructors won't have time to hold your hand through the entire process. Which is a good thing in some ways. You won't have someone holding your hand once you get a job, you need to be able to do your own research and meet deadlines. That being said. You need to a moderate amount of knowledge and a lot of extra time to meet the deadlines for coursework. So in the positive, you get a pretty stellar portfolio and learn a lot of relevant information in 12 weeks.

The bad: The biggest problem I had during the course was they let anyone attend. The tests they have you do before accepting you are a complete joke. We had people in the cohort who didn't know what HTML and Javascript were. A decent amount dropped from the course in the first couple weeks but not before severely slowing the class down. By the 4th week we were a full week behind. This continued to be a problem as the coursework gets harder by the day and people who were behind face an increasingly difficult battle of catching up. To put that into context, we started with 25 students and only 12 were at our graduation.

The bad after graduation: Natosha and Mary-Hannah are the recruiters for getting into the bootcamp and they're also the job placement advisors. So basically, they're stretched way too thin to be effective. I'm sure having to choose between recruiting new students which earns revenue and helping alumni find jobs is a pretty easy choice. I had a couple messages never get responded to only to hear back a week later about a job they were presenting me to. After a couple months I knew I was really on my own and put all my efforts into job hunting on my own. Due to Covid-19 it took me 7 months to find a job after graduating. Out of being told I was an amazing candidate and I was being presented to an employer that had hired CF grads in the past a couple dozen times, I heard back from only 1 employer. They ended up hiring one of the weaker candidates in our class, who knew nothing coming in and barely graduated. Their tech stack was about 15 years old so it's probably a blessing I didn't land that position. However, I probably had to apply to about 300 jobs before I found employment. Getting a job as a junior dev is probably the hardest thing I've ever done. Getting flooded with rejection emails takes a toll on your sanity after a while.

Looking back: Coder Foundry definitely helped me but I would not do it again. For the amount of money you pay, you should be getting support from more people. if you decide to attend, I highly recommend knowing moderate levels of logic in at least javascript and being extremely comfortable working in html and css. Also know that regardless of what they tell you, getting a job after graduating is going to be very difficult and they probably won't have time to help you.

Well written curriculum + skilled, invested instructors = a great experience. Make no mistake, this is a tough 12 weeks. And the last few are the hardest, when mental & physical fatigue has set in and you can see the finish line just out of reach. I came into the course with passing knowledge of front end web development, but it was nothing near the level of what is taught in the course. This is a boot camp not a laid back college style class. You will be pushed, you will wonder if you're going to make it, and in week 12 I looked back at my week 1 code and wonder how I ever wrote code that rough.

Jason / Antonio (main instructors) and Greg (TA) are both knowledgeable and, more importantly, approachable. In addition to teaching the requirements they also make themselves available to help with any tangents a student might go on.

While there are no group projects or group work collaboration between students is encouraged. Students who are further along are encouraged to assist other students, this both saves instruction time and reinforces the knowledge of the student doing the teaching.

I can't express how amazing this bootcamp is. After having a terrible experience with another program, I felt that I would never be able to successfully pursue this type of career, but Coder Foundry changed that for me. The staff here is so friendly and inviting, and they truly care about your success. Their support goes far beyond just teaching the cirriculum here, as they spend so much time focusing on developing your career and finding placement for you. I wasn't even able to complete the course because they found a position for me! They really went above and beyond to ensure that I got hired. They believe in what they are doing and will push just as hard as you do for your success. I won't lie, it is not an easy feat, and it certainly isn't for everyone, but if you put in the effort and truly dedicate yourself, wonderful things will happen. Xamarin One Week Review

Read more Read less of Jim Black's review

Antonio was a great instructor for this one-week boot camp on Xamarin Mobile Development.

This was my first experience with CoderFoundry and first Mobile Development training and I was quite impressed.  The instructor is well educated and/or experienced in Xamarin Mobile Development and the surrounding technologies including MVC and WebApi.  The class was all hands on, no lectures and taking notes.  Detail reference material was handed out and was very helpful.  All development projects were real-world sample projects that we worked with and added features to it, expanded it's abilities or tweaked the UI.

As with any leading-edge technology training, we had our fair share of issues that slowed or delayed training, but nothing too serious.  Most of these issues were caused by NuGet package updates that were unplanned since the previous month when this course was taught.  Well, these issues are occurrences in .Net developer’s everyday life and you need to know how to understand or debug the problem, research and update the correct NuGet packages.

Being a seasoned Microsoft .Net developer, I had hoped for more in-depth coverage of Xamarin Forms and all its controls, but to attract a broader range of students with different experience levels, the class also included training/review in WebAPI and SQL to access the data for the mobile app.  Other classes within an hour and a half drive offer the same similar curriculum.  Overall the class covered a good basis to begin Xamarin Mobile development to grow from.

My employer had an existing Xamarin iOS application that I need to take over maintenance and development, Antonio also helped me learn how to configure my Mac and Visual Studio on my laptop to work together.  THIS was a great help.

I would recommend this class to any Mid-Level or Sr. Level developer that is needing to or wanting to expand their development onto mobile devices.

    College Degree or Code Bootcamp?

    To the reader,

Please note that your opinion may very well differ from my own (the writer) and this is only to help give insight as to if Coder Foundry is the right place for you.

I stumbled upon Coder Foundry while I was looking for a career path that was right for me. While I was initially nervous about taking the course, I decided that I should go ahead and try it out as I had two weeks to get my money back. Now that I have finished the Couse, I somewhat wish I had gotten my money back. Of the many things that were stated throughout the course; the two things that stood out to me the most were, "We will help you find a job." and "No, you don't need a degree to get a job." Well, I sit here now writing this review to say that over the past several months, I have adamantly applied and followed up with over 40 companies in the North Carolina area as well as spoken with around 15+ recruiters who have all given me a similar answer as to why I was NOT being looked at or chosen for the position. That answer was, almost always one of two; "You don't have a degree and we can't hire anyone without a degree." (and yes, HR reps said that even though they are to treat everyone as equal on their desk.) and "You don't have enough experience, have you considered getting a degree?" Most of the positions I applied to were entry level requiring anywhere from 1-5 years of experience, with or without a degree (meaning a degree was not required). I have now decided to further my education in computer science by getting a degree and taking part in WBL (work-based learning).

As far as Coder Foundry is concerned, they helped me get three interviews while I was an attending student, and zero interviews after I graduated. I managed to get around five over the phone interviews of which only one seemed promising. There liaison has not contacted me to help me with finding a job nor with any information about companies that may be hiring.

The instructors are knowledgeable but not overly helpful, as the most of my questions were meet with “Have you googled it?” or “Keep looking.” and only where finally answered (after multiple times asking the same question in different ways) in what seemed to be you should know that already manner.

The curriculum overall was laid out in a nice fashion but was not executed in a timely manner due to the main instructor not being in class on a few occasions, granted things do come up in life that we need to take care of. And after having five different people teach the class, there is no consistency in the teaching style nor information being taught. Keeping in mind that it only covers .NET and Microsoft’s codebase, they did manage to cover all the basics, but there was a lack of fundamentals. I recommend prior knowledge of any languages such as Microsoft VB, java, or even python.

I should also mention that it is labeled as a 12-week course. With that in mind, I was told that I would not be receiving my certificate of completion because the instructor had to approve of and sign off on our work. That took three more weeks of extra time and money to appease the instructor. This made me very upset as every time I fixed something and said this is done now, the instructor would say hey you need to make this a different color and change this icon because it will look better. All of that for a single piece of paper saying that I have completed a 672 hour course (even though I had accumulated more that 672 hours of work because of the ‘three week extension’ for not having it done the way the instructor wanted it to be; this is also why I list my graduation to be in May as opposed to April when the class actually graduated).

All in all, if you have made it this far, I feel I can not recommend this course to others because of the cost and the way I was treated as well as the so called ‘services’ that I never received. I gained more life experience than I did knowledge of programming.

To prospective students, I wish you much luck and hope that this opinion has helped you to make your decision.
