University of South Florida (USF) offers a 36-week, online UI/UX Design bootcamp and a 24-week, online Cybersecurity bootcamp. USF bootcamp students are free to work at their own pace and may complete the bootcamps sooner by putting in additional weekly hours.
The UI/UX Design bootcamp curriculum covers design tools, such as Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD as well as sketching, wireframing, guerilla usability testing, responsive design, prototyping, and evaluative user research methods. Bootcamp students will have the option to complete four portfolio projects, including a design sprint. Bootcamp students may be matched with a real company to complete a 40-hour industry design project that includes identifying a customer problem to solve, competitive research, prototype design, usability testing, and improvement identification.
The Cybersecurity bootcamp curriculum covers threat actor types and attributes, malware, three-legged stool (CIA), authentication models, access control modes, risk assessments, control audits, and vulnerability assessments & remediation. Bootcamp students will complete a guided capstone project during which they will be required to work on a hypothetical pen test and develop a corrective action plan. Bootcamp students will be prepared for the CompTIA Security+ exam and will receive a free exam voucher.
Applicants from diverse backgrounds are welcome to apply for USF Bootcamps. UI/UX Design bootcamp students must demonstrate strong visual skills, creativity, and clear communication. Cybersecurity bootcamp applicants are required to demonstrate strong analytical skills and determination and must pass an evaluation of baseline soft skills centered around communication, motivation, professionalism, a commitment to learning, and an analytical mindset.
Bootcamp students will receive support from their student advisor, personal expert mentor (weekly 1:1 video calls), and career coach, who assist bootcamp students with personalizing their pitch and job search strategy and crafting a resume. Bootcamp students will receive access to an online community where they can network with mentors and other USF bootcamp students and unlimited 1:1 calls with other community mentors.
USF bootcamp students will receive a certificate of completion from USF CTP as well as a digital badge that can be used for LinkedIn or other online profiles.
USF bootcamps are powered by Springboard.
