The Tech Academy is a trade school headquartered in Portland, Oregon that offers full-time and part-time bootcamps online and in-person at their Portland campus.The Tech Academy offers bootcamps in computer programming, website development, cybersecurity, game development, mobile development, data science, and front-end development. The immersive experience aims to create well-rounded technology professionals, and also gives students the option to take the course at their own pace. There are also no set starts dates or rigid scheduling. Students can enroll at any time, study from home, and choose whatever study schedule they would like.
The Tech Academy’s bootcamps cover topics including computer science fundamentals, programming basics, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, C#, Python, Bootstrap, jQuery, React.js, project management, Agile, Scrum, MVC, version control, Java, and more. Each bootcamp also includes a Live Project, where students gain real-life experience to add to their resume as well as job placement assistance.
None of The Tech Academy's bootcamps require any tech background or experience. To apply, applicants need to take an IQ test with logic-based questions (to ensure applicants can read, write and perform basic math), followed by an admissions interview.
The final part of every The Tech Academy bootcamp is the Job Placement Course which covers interviewing skills, resume writing, where to find tech jobs, and gives students access to job placement staff who assist students in landing technical positions.

My wife and I both enjoyed this boot camp. The instructors were quick to respond. The course is self-paced and assumes you don't know anything about technology so you can take time where you need it. They are also very understanding of the fact that you have a life. During the pandemic, my schedule was crazy they helped make a stressful situation way more manageable. Their number one goal is to make you into a full-stack junior software developer and get you into your first tech job.My wife and I both enjoyed this boot camp. The instructors were quick to respond. Python Developer Bootcamp
I am a recent grad of the Python Developer Bootcamp. I have to stay wow. I was brand to world of coding and did not have the slightest bit of knowledge about coding. So obviously it was a little nerve wrecking. The Tech Academy does a absolutely wonderful job of guiding you from basic computer fundamentals through several in demand languages. My particular python developer boot camp included HTML/CSS, SQL, Javascript, and Python. It sound like a lot but I promise it is worth the jump. Believe me I struggled but one thing that stood out to me through the entire boot camp is the willingness and patience instructors have. At time where I felt lost all it took was a email, text, or phone and every instructor I spoke with took as much time as I needed to grasp material. I had an instructor named Levi who literally had to deal with me most of the boot camp and no matter how much I asked he was patience and explained material in numerous ways until I could grasp it. So do not stress they want you to be successful. They are also very quick at responding regardless how you choose to communicate with them. Another thing I have to mention is through the boot camp I need have numerous hiccups in life that slowed my progress down. If you are nervous about life getting in the way and believe you can not learn they are also very understanding. Life happens, things happen and I was almost incredibly shocked how they worked with me to see me be successful and graduate. On top of these points once you finish the boot camp material they have a job placement course where they teach you how to create a resume, a cover letter, how to interview and more. By the time you finish the boot camp you will feel so much more confident. Great Experience

Fun way to advance your career
I loved my time at the Tech Academy. After leaving my previous job at the beginning of COVID I was searching for a way to advance my technical skills with a remote learning option. Tech Academy was doing remote learning long before the pandemic, while other boot camps were just starting to adjust. The curriculum included many of the top programming languages and I liked the self-pacing.
I had previously been a computer programmer for about 6 years, but it had been abo...I loved my time at the Tech Academy. After leaving my previous job at the beginning of COVID I was searching for a way to advance my technical skills with a remote learning option. Tech Academy was doing remote learning long before the pandemic, while other boot camps were just starting to adjust. The curriculum included many of the top programming languages and I liked the self-pacing.
I had previously been a computer programmer for about 6 years, but it had been about 10 years since I had written any code and I wanted to refresh my skills to improve my job prospects. The Tech Academy did exactly that with the Full Stack Software Developer program. Throughout the course I remembered why I loved computer programming and looked forward to each day of course material. When I encountered challenging sections of the course I always felt supported by the instructors. I especially enjoyed the final two-week team projects and felt sad that it had to end; kind of like going home after summer camp.
I will be honest and say that the course is inadequate on React, and the Django section proved somewhat frustrating, but overall a really good experience. Be prepared to put in at least 40 hours per week at the computer or you will fall behind, as I did, and need to pay more money to finish the course.
The job placement course and alumni support are outstanding. It can be tough to get a job out there right now, but the guidance they give, and the weekly meetings really help to prepare you and keep you motivated. The placement team called me more than once per week to provide feedback and encouragement.
Four months after finishing the Bootcamp I landed a job at Amazon as a Senior Technical Product Manager. Although I had previous coding experience on my resume, the course did refresh my skills to help me get a coveted position at an A tier company. The Tech Academy course material is relevant for the current job market and I would say the background education they give at the start of the course was helpful, especially during the system design and technical interview questions.

This boot camp was great. Their website details what each boot camp entails, I personally graduate from the C# .Net framework courses, but they don't really explain the nuance of their services. You get more than just an understanding of code, you use applications that you wouldn't use on your own and are ubiquitous in the industry. Github is one of them. Their job placement course and staff that help you with the job search are worth the cost on their own. People charge a lot of money f...This boot camp was great. You get more than just an understanding of code, you use applications that you wouldn't use on your own and are ubiquitous in the industry. Github is one of them. The staff and instructors are absolutely wonderful; reach out frequently as they really are there to help you find success. Ultimately, you will only get out what you put in during this Bootcamp. You have to take the initiative and be willing to go above and beyond what is required to understand the concepts given. This boot camp is a great tool, and I can't recommend it enough. C# & .NET Framework Boot Camp
Six months ago I started out not knowing anything about code. Now I'm looking for a Software Development job fully confident in my skills and knowledge. Data Science Boot Camp
I am so happy with my decision to do my boot camp with the tech academy! I was drawn to the program because it was self-paced, middle of the range in terms of cost and time, and because they built their curriculum for people who have never coded before.
I knew hardly anything about coding to begin with and they really drill the fundamentals before ramping up to more challenging content. I gained a broad base of fundamental skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript before moving onto the...I am so happy with my decision to do my boot camp with the tech academy! I was drawn to the program because it was self-paced, middle of the range in terms of cost and time, and because they built their curriculum for people who have never coded before.
I knew hardly anything about coding to begin with and they really drill the fundamentals before ramping up to more challenging content. I gained a broad base of fundamental skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript before moving onto the more specific data science which focus more on statistics, machine learning, Python and R. I can now confidently wrangle, visualize and model data using both Python, R and PowerBI. At the end I did a two week live project that really brought all of those skills together in real-world agile/scrum team environment. I do want to note that Data Science is a big, new, someone ill-defined field and I believe there is no way someone could learn every aspect of it in four months. This bootcamp gave me super solid fundamentals in the areas of statistics, data wrangling/cleaning, data visualization, and machine learning models using both Python and R. I now have the confidence to self educate in these and other areas of interest, as well as the skills to land a junior analyst position.
The course was challenging without being overwhelming and the staff and instructors are available, competent, and they clearly want you to succeed. My job placement coordinator was AMAZING (shout out to Samantha!) She's the closest thing I've ever had to a personal assistant. Whether you need someone to look over a resume or cover letter or to give you a pep talk, they are there for it, present, and keep you on track without being overbearing. They are also very receptive to feedback about the program or your experience both during and after.
