Springboard
Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. UX Design Course
Springboard provided 1-on-1 mentorship and a great curriculum to follow. One of the nicest perks of an online course is that you can pace yourself and don't feel the need to follow the set schedule. They do tell you the average time is about 3 months to get thorugh the entire course, but you can spend as long as you need.

Great Community, Mentorship, and Curated Coursework

Most of what I have learned about Data Science, I have learned online through free MOOC's. After about a month of working through Springboard's Data Science Intensive course, I really like their unique learning environment. The coursework is curated from a pretty large variatey of websites across the internet, and I would have never found all of this material on my own. I feel much more comfortable discussing complex data science topics and using analytics tools after only of month of coursework. Unlike the other reviewer, I have not spent any additional money on the curated coursework. The mentorship program is a key component to my success thus far in the course, and he has really helped me through my capstone project. Finally, Springboard nurtures a pretty vibrant community of students and mentors that communicate through a private forum.Â
Overall, I am feel like the course was money well-spent, and I am excited to get a lot more practice with my newly acquired skills.

Great Mentorship, Decent Curriculum

The projects all build a good porfolio to break into the field of UX including the classic Timebank exercise. I did this course to get a better background in UX as a developer and it did help me get a lot better ideas for planning, layout, and repsonsiveness. I cannot speak for Job Assistance as I am not looking to break into the field but there are a number of people taking the course looking to do so. (You would probably get the most assistance from your mentor). The course does have GREAT office hours ranging in topics from breaking into UX to specific concepts that relate to your projects.Â
The best part is your mentor. Springboard seems to do a good job with matching you with a mentor that matches what you really want to get out of the course. My mentor has been nothing short of amazing. That is what you really pay for with this course, not the materials, but the mentorship. You get a weekly phone call with your mentor and mine would answer emails with feedback in betweek sessions.Â
Overall the course is inexpensive if you're looking to get a solid background and understanding of UX. I am more of a back-end developer so this actually helped me understand a lot of things about the Front-End side of development. I am not trying to break into the field of UX, BUT the mentorship is awesome and I'm sure you and your mentor would develop a plan to break into the field if you are looking to.Â

Negative Experience
My first mentor joined the calls late every single time, missed calls without any notification, rude and usually takes a week + to respond to emails. I seriously question how someone like him can even be considered a "mentor." Springboards mentor system is a gamble, either you get someone supportive or someone who just doesn't care.Â

Not Worth It, Job Guarantee Conditions Impossible to Meet
Overall a bad experience. I learned a lot, but all from videos that they just link to from youtube. Instructor is literally youtube videos. No support from staff (only help I got was from other students). Mentors checked out. Over promised and under delivered. Hello, If I could go back and spend my money elsewhere I would. I wish I would have gone in person as this course is non-conducive learning. The lack of help when you have a question is frustrating If you are working full time.. as it will take a day or so to get that answer. They only allow 1 call per week with a actual person to provide clarity so good luck getting a detailed explanation more the that. I've also noticed one "mentor" I had never checked my work and just kept saying "everything looks good" until I hired my own tutor and found my code riddled with errors and went over them. Sometimes the projects also ask you to perform things you haven't even learned yet in the videos. My critique to this school would be to film detailed instructions from a human with instructions as well as the written instruction, also should be able to speak to someone more the 1x a week. I cant personally recommend this school in good conscious to anyone. It's a scam.
I've applied for the software engineering bootcamp recently and I was contacted by an advisor. I told my advisor that i can't start immediately. I asked if they have classes that will start after two months (in feb 25). He told me there will be new classes every month, but in order to secure a spot in the future, I have to pay a $1000 immediately. So I paid. But before I decided to start I had many questions, therefore I called him and email him many times and each time I made sure that...I've applied for the software engineering bootcamp recently and I was contacted by an advisor. Now they are accumulating a late fee. Trust me! I contacted my advisor, the school finance office and the admission office. None of them seem to care. That' when  knew I got a scammed in to paying. I'll try to get a refund and revoke my application. Think about it, if they didn't care now, they will absolutely not going to care after I paid all the money. Good for beginners/refining skills
I think that springboard helped me refine my design skills, given there were multiple projects and exercises to do. I learned a lot through application! Practice leads to improvement. One thing tho, I’d like to note that I think this bootcamp is good for 1) beginners (absolutely no experience in design) and 2) moderate/amateur (some design experience) as I think that the material and grading isn’t of the HIGHEST quality, I think it can be better. Be aware of the job guarantee
I am extremely disappointed with the Springboard cybersecurity program. Despite their bold promise of a job guarantee, my experience has been far from reassuring. Just two weeks after my first meeting with my career mentor, it became clear that landing a cybersecurity job was unlikely, and instead, I was being steered towards tech support roles.
To make matters worse, I checked Slack messages and found many participants with extensive tech support experience who are still struggli...I am extremely disappointed with the Springboard cybersecurity program. Despite their bold promise of a job guarantee, my experience has been far from reassuring. Just two weeks after my first meeting with my career mentor, it became clear that landing a cybersecurity job was unlikely, and instead, I was being steered towards tech support roles.
To make matters worse, I checked Slack messages and found many participants with extensive tech support experience who are still struggling to break into cybersecurity. If Springboard is not confident in their ability to train students for the jobs they promise, they should not accept students or make such guarantees in the first place.
This feels like a scam. Promising job guarantees without delivering is misleading and unfair. Prospective students deserve transparency about the real outcomes they can expect. I would not recommend this program to anyone expecting to transition into a cybersecurity career as promised.
