Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, healthcare, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.

To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.

Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard's programs are backed with a Money-Back Guarantee.

Springboard’s support does not end when students graduate. All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Since Springboard was founded in 2013, 94% of eligible graduates secured a job within one year, earning an average salary increase of $26,000.

    Scam, beware, ridiculous

Ok guys, beware of Springboard. I don’t want anyone to make the same mistake that I did. I am about to graduate their UI UX course and let me tell you, it has been an absolute disaster. I really expected great things from them. In the beginning, I would literally even reply to “advisor” “how are you” email blasts. But, boy was I in for a ride. Most of their content and curriculum is YouTube videos, medium articles, and articles that come up on Google. By the way, yes, the articles WILL have grammar mistakes, misspelled content, and you will see content from 2003 that’s not relevant today. If you can force yourself to self-learn, please literally just pay for Udemy videos or watch YouTube videos, study other people’s case studies, and you will learn the process. Trust me.

I am sure that not all of them are, but I am pretty sure some of the mentors are literally found through Craigslist or under a rock. I was literally shocked when I looked up my first mentor’s portfolio—it was something I could put together in five minutes without any ui ux skills. That’s not an exaggeration. I guess we cannot expect that much from them since they are literally getting paid pennies, and, guess what, the good designers are out there creating products, not mentoring others.

The worst of it is that they literally charged my card when I already finished the course. Their employee told me my last payment date—it was paid. Yet, I wake up to another payment on the next month. Guess what? It takes them three weeks to process a refund.

    Springboard UX Career Course Review

    Pros:
    - Structured course, lays out curriculum in a progress based manner
    - Mentors available for calls and advice
    - Self paced

    Cons:
    - Some mentors have poor audio/video equipment
    - Hit or miss when it comes to quality of mentors
    - IDP project (pairing student up with company) is hit or miss, some companies may be uncommunicative or difficult to work with

Springboard bootcamp - pivot your career

Springboard Data Analytics boot camp successfully helped me to pivot my career when my previous experience seemed to come to the dead end. The practical curriculum and career coach really work hand to hand to prepare me to land my next job. The weekly one on one mentor time, student discussion forum and the portal to share the frustration and post question really help me to overcome lots of hurdles along the way. I'm thankful to know the Springboard.

    Decent Program

Overall it's a good program for changing career or starting on a new field. Personalized mentorship, hands-on projects, and career coaching was helpful for transition into data analytics roles. Those projects helped to get technical understanding and also prepared me to enhance my story telling and presentation skills. I also really liked the last part of the program that helped me to build a strong resume , and provided me an opportunity to practice interview questions. That really helped during the interview process.

    Data Engineer Springboard Certification

The Data Engineer Certification program from Springboard was great. The highlight for me was working with my mentor every week. Springboard did a good job matching me with a good mentor as well as plotting out a good course to understand data engineering. The capstone project was a great resource while applying for jobs.

    Waste of money

Horrible experience. So a better research and go somewhere else. You'd only waste your money here. The curriculum is out of Linkedin learning. The lab classes are outdated. The mentors are not helpful at all. Lastly, the career service has no clue what they are doing.

    Feb 10, 2023

    Hello,

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your experience in our Cyber Security program was not what you expected.

Our curriculum is designed by experts in the field of cyber security, together with our team of instructional designers to provide students with the best resources available. Throughout their course, students are mentored by professionals in the field to support their technical learning. All of our course mentors go through a rigorous vetting process and hold senior positions in cyber security, such as Jay James (Cyber Security Operations Lead at Auburn University), Alissa Torres (Senior Threat Hunter at Palo Alto Networks), and Mark Adams (Senior Manager, IT Security & Compliance at Superior Energy).

In addition to mentorship, students are also supported by career coaches who help them to prepare a tailored job search strategy, and a number of other subject matter experts who support, such as TA's and mentor-hosted Office Hours sessions. We hold all of these individuals to a very high standard of service in support of students. If that standard was not met for you, we sincerely apologize and value your feedback.

If you felt that there was anything we could have done better to support you towards a successful experience in the course, we value that feedback and would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact advising@springboard.com and schedule a call with us.

Thank you once again for your review and we look forward to hearing from you.

    mentor-assisted, helpful, guidance needed

My mentor was the key to my success at Springboard - we would have weekly meetings where we would go over my work and design and since he was from the same field, he would provide his critique, feedback and any other helpful resources he could in order for me to achieve better work.

    Great bootcamp

Springboard had all the important topics that many jobs are looking for. The lecture videos showed a lot of details and step by step instructions on how to go about it. The only cons were that some lectures were outdated and needed to be updated with current standards.

    UX UI Design Career Track

I completed the UX UI Career Track program and I loved it! The curriculum was very engaging and allowed me to learn at my own pace, which I loved. You also receive a mentor to work with you through the course and this was incredibly beneficial! I also really loved the IDP program, you get to work with a real company and other designers, it is an awesome real world experience!  I am just entering the job search so will update my thoughts throughout that as well!

    Do not recommend

I am reviewing the Software Engineering Career Track. The only thing I would recommend about this program is the job guarantee. Curriculum teaches Python, which is a great language for devOps and data science, but this is a limiting option for software engineers. There are many more jobs for those who know C# and Java. In addition, the experience with my mentor was disappointing and there wasn't enough of a social aspect to the bootcamp. After awhile, I also found myself fatigued by the sheer number of videos I had to watch. They should break it up with some text here and there, but they don't really consider this from a user experience standpoint.

    Great overall

    Pros:
Mentor support, career services, job guarantee, curriculum content, flexibility.

    Cons:
    Curriculum delivery

This was my second bootcamp experience, after having a misunderstanding about the job guarantee with the first one. Once I vetted Springboard's job guarantee, it was a no-brainer to sign up. At the time of this writing (March 2022) I had an option to pay only after I received a qualifying position, or else I wouldn't have to pay at all.

The curriculum is outstanding for the small timeframe that it's delivered in. My only wish is that it was delivered in a different format so that I could have used my phone to work on it instead of having to be at my computer for it.

The mentor experience and career services are absolutely top notch for Springboard.

My wife had a baby in the middle of my cohort, and Springboard allowed my to pause for a very generous amount of time with 0 repercussions to the job guarantee or completion. I cannot put into words that amount of relief that washed over me once they gave me that option.

Great overall experience, with small matters for improvement, but nothing that really detracts from the course. I definitely recommend Springboard to anyone looking to change careers.

    An overpriced waist of time

This program is a total waist of money. You can easily learn everything they teach you here and pay 1/6th of the price tag. ALL of the coding lessons come from data camp, so right there you can easily just pay for the data camp data science career track and you just saved yourself a pretty penny. Then they just copy and paste some web articles into the curriculum. Its absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay thousands more for data camp with a bunch of hype. I still haven't found a job and its been over 6 months because people don't take the career track as experience. My 'Mentors' didn't really teach me anything to be honest they just tell me to look stuff up online. Again this program is a joke and you are the punchline, don't be dumb enough to give scam artists your money. This program is exactly what it smells like a diploma mill churning out class after class of dumb sheep who are too embarrassed to admit they bought in to the lie. A total waist of time and money DO NOT BUY THIS COURSE !!
