Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, healthcare, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.

To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.

Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard's programs are backed with a Money-Back Guarantee.

Springboard’s support does not end when students graduate. All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Since Springboard was founded in 2013, 94% of eligible graduates secured a job within one year, earning an average salary increase of $26,000.

From Fashion to UI/UX: My Springboard Journey

Coming from a background in fashion design, I’ve always had an eye for aesthetics and detail—but I wanted to shift into a field where creativity meets problem-solving and user impact. That’s when I found Springboard’s UI/UX Design Career Track. The course offered a clear, structured path that helped me build a strong foundation in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing. What made the experience truly transformative was the mentorship. My mentor provided not only design feedback, but also career guidance and industry insights that helped me grow more confident in my transition. One of the things I appreciated most was the hands-on approach. Through real-world projects, I was able to apply what I learned and begin crafting a portfolio that reflects both my new UI/UX skills and my creative background.Springboard gave me the tools, support, and structure I needed to successfully pivot into the world of UI/UX design. If you’re looking to make a career change and want a program that’s flexible, mentor-led, and focused on real results—Springboard is a great place.

    Structured curriculum, personalized guidance

    Pros:
    - Organized, easy-to-follow curriculum with project feedback: Coming from an iOS background, I knew little about web development and only had a vague understanding of databases, servers, and APIs. The curriculum covered a lot of this in depth and the mini graded projects gave me the opportunity to put into practice what I learned. The projects were also graded with feedback so I knew that they were reviewed by more experienced software engineers.
    - Guidance from mentor: My mentor was there with me for the entire journey through the bootcamp. He helped me relate concepts to real-world situations so that I could better grasp how they worked, and he was there to clear up any confusion I had.
    - Personalized feedback from career coaches: Having so many professional career coaches review my resume, LinkedIn, and networking strategies gave me confidence that I have all the necessary job search materials to succeed.

    Cons
    - A little on the expensive side, they do offer flexible payment plans.
    - Took 9 months and 800+ intense hours, so it is a commitment. Looking big picture, this is a really short time to learn web development and full stack technologies in depth.

    Supportive and engaging

SpringBoard had a lot to offer on paper, and receives favorable reviews when compared to other online-education options.  I had the opportunity, so I took a chance on it.

    And then my father died.

I suddenly found my entire world turned upside down with less time and more responsibilities shortly after starting the SpringBoard boot camp.  I just couldn't do it all.  I was feeling overwhelmed, crushed, and despairing.

I reached out to their support team to complain about something I just couldn't get to work and received a phone call soon after (it was within 24 hours, if not the same day).  The representative could not have been more supportive.  They granted me an extra month of time, found me a mentor that would better suit my needs and schedule, and were overall very considerate and positive despite what I had been through.

The pressure was off and I could breathe again.

I had to work hard in order to get through everything on time, but I did it.

The two best things that will always stand out to me are the practical work with a professional mentor and their extraordinary support team.  I could probably have gone online elsewhere and found what I needed for a lot less, but the practical experience and having someone to talk to (my mentor, not just the support team) made all the difference in the world!

No, the whole program was not perfect; there were dead reference links, and it was hard to find how to get help sometimes, but it was definitely a great experience over all.

    Data Science Career Track

The DS Career track had a great curriculum- sequential learning that actually made sense. My mentor was phenomenal and encouraging. The program support, student services people were amazing in email communication. TBD on Job assistance since things have not yet made progress (new grad), but promising so far. Career coaches were sweet but I did not learn anything significantly new. Some of the tech coaches were really amazing, others led me on a goose chase to contact them. Overall, I think great program and no regrets. I have done another bootcamp for software engineering years ago and that program was super extra. Springboard did not ask you about your trauma and then expect you to go learn Pandas. This program is pretty much a : you get what you put into it type of vibe.

    Fantastic curriculum and mentorship

I started off without any knowledge in Data Analytics and extremely basic coding experience. I basically knew to output 'Hello World' and make basic arithmetic calculations. I have evolved a lot and Springboard made it possible. The flow was adaptable, the mentorship program was great and one of the best selling points for Springboard. Highly recommend it to anyone starting out afresh.

Springboard Bootcamp is a flexible, mentor-led learning experience

Pros: Springboard offers flexible, self-paced learning with one-on-one mentorship from industry professionals. The curriculum is project-based and career-focused, and many programs include a job guarantee. Career support services like resume help and mock interviews are also provided.

Cons: The self-paced format requires strong self-motivation and time management. It’s entirely online, which may not suit everyone, and networking opportunities can be limited. The cost might be high for some, even though it’s more affordable than traditional degrees.

    A transformative and career-changing experience.

Springboard provided me with an incredibly well-structured and supportive UX Design learning journey. The curriculum was comprehensive, combining theory with real-world projects that built my portfolio and confidence. My mentor was experienced and offered invaluable insights, helping me grow both technically and professionally. One of the biggest advantages was the career support — from resume workshops to mock interviews, they truly invested in my job readiness. While the program is intensive and requires self-discipline, it’s absolutely worth it for those serious about transitioning into tech. I landed a UX Designer role shortly after completing the course, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Business practices are shady, Course was decent

I completed the Springboard UX/UI Career Track program April of 2024. I recently completed the job guarantee period without landing a job and applied for the refund. Springboard approved my request but said they are paying it back over 12 months rather than refunding the entire amount. They did not specify that I would not be receiving a full refund anywhere in the agreement. This is really not cool, probably not legal, and definitely not ethical. Shame on you, Springboard.

    Works if you are committed

I took the UX/UI Design course with Springboard and overall had a positive experience. One of the biggest highlights for me was having a dedicated mentor who was always available and incredibly helpful throughout the program. The course material itself was pretty straightforward and easy to follow, which made navigating the different phases of the curriculum manageable. As someone who was new to design tools like Figma, I definitely found the learning curve a bit steep at the beginning. Thankfully, external resources like YouTube tutorials really helped me bridge the gap and build my confidence. If I could change one thing, I’d love to see more detailed and consistent feedback on projects. While the mentor feedback was valuable, I think more thorough critiques from other reviewers would have helped me grow even faster. All in all, I’d recommend Springboard to anyone looking to break into UX/UI design - especially if you value having mentor support and a flexible, self-paced learning structure.

    Hands-on, flexible, real-world projects

After years of working in a different field, I chose to transition into data analytics and enrolled in Springboard’s Data Analyst Career Track to gain industry-relevant skills and project experience. The program offered a structured learning path in Python, SQL, statistics, and data visualization with Tableau, while also focusing on real-world capstone projects that helped me apply what I learned.Pros:
    • Mentorship: Weekly 1:1 calls with an experienced industry mentor kept me on track and helped me apply concepts to real-life use cases.
    • Project-Based Learning: Hands-on capstone and mini-projects gave me the confidence to showcase my skills and build a portfolio.
    • Career Support: Resume reviews, mock interviews, and job search guidance were valuable as I prepared to transition into a new career.
    • Flexibility: Self-paced learning allowed me to study while managing other responsibilities.
    Cons:
    • Self-Discipline Required: You need strong time management skills to stay on schedule without daily deadlines.
    • Limited Peer Interaction: Unlike a classroom setting, there's less opportunity to engage in live collaboration with peers.
    • Job Guarantee Conditions: The job guarantee has strict eligibility requirements and doesn’t apply to every situation.
Overall, Springboard gave me a solid foundation in data analytics and helped me build both technical skills and confidence. While the path hasn’t been easy, I now feel prepared to pursue opportunities and grow in the field.

    Springboard Software Engineering Track

I learned a lot from this program about full stack development. There are even technical interviews that you get to experience at the end to see how well you would do in a live interview. I feel that the course has prepared me to get an entry level job in the software engineering field. I think the mentorship program could be done a little better, because sometimes the mentor will not always know how to answer your questions. You can change mentors if you need to though. Overall, the curriculum was thorough and easy to understand as well as enjoyable to work through.

Fine bootcamp, didn't get a job, bad refund

TL;DR: Curriculum is basic YouTube videos, I’m a college graduate who didn’t get a job after a year, they will try everything they can to prevent you from getting the refund, the refund occurs in 12 monthly installments over a year period.

I enrolled in Springboard's software engineering bootcamp in 2023 and completed in 2024. They sell you on a "job guarantee" in which you will get your money back if you don't find a job in 6 months. The curriculum itself consists of basic and often outdated YouTube videos.

Their “mentorship” was definitely lackluster. It’s what you make of it, but your mentor is not going to get you a job at their company and is probably just trying to make some cash on the side and would probably rather be somewhere else.

To be eligible for their job guarantee (and the refund if you don't find a job), I had to apply to a certain number of jobs per week and make a certain number of connections. Per the contract, they extended the 6 month job search period to one year, which I was fine with.

After one year of applying, I did not get any jobs and had less than a handful of interviews. Springboard slow-walked approving my refund for several weeks, encouraging me several times to extend the job search period (why would I do that?), and then the kicker: approved the refund but said it would be paid out in 12 monthly installments over the next year. Yup—after applying to jobs for a year, they told me I’d have to wait another one before I could receive the refund. Some job guarantee! After complaining, they offered me to fill out a financial hardship form that they review “once a month” and can’t promise I’ll receive anything faster.

Overall: there’s much better bang for your buck out there. I don’t know a single person from Springboard who has gotten a job. Try some other bootcamp… or go to nursing school.
