Melsoft Academy

I came to Melsoft without any experience in coding , the course really helped me grow from being nothing to making me feel like I have a sense of purpose. Our mentors Larreth and Laurice has been hands on , they are with you throughout , every meeting they are present , they are running the academy yet they make time to answer any questions you may have . The teacher assistants are friendly and open to offering feedback/advice regardless of time. I appreciate the fact that they give you time to sink in all the theory and then gives you time to prove yourself in a practical project after every level, but the cherry on the cake is them offering job or part time opportunities where you can gain real experiences while learning. After your course you get a internship and interview tips on how to land a job in tech.  Read less

You will not regret joining this bootcamp. The course is extremely well put together and the mentors are ALWAYS there to help. Not once will you be alone during this course. You learn so much in such a little time and the practical assignments leaves you with a better understanding and not just theoretical knowledge. However, the bootcamp's pace was intense, and at times, it felt overwhelming. While the supportive environment and peer collaboration helped, I believe that extending some modules or offering additional resources for self-paced learning could have made the experience smoother.

The curriculum is very relevant to the tech industry market. The projects taught me core skills that are in need for full stack developers. The videos in the course are however poorly explained. Specifically Level 5: Frontend with React & Redux, the instructor did not explain the content adequately and so working on the project was a bit challenging. The LinkedIn webinars that were held on Wednesdays were really helpful as they pushed me to optimise my LinkedIn and that's how I got hired as a developer. The bootcamp is worth the price. Read less

Melsoft is an institution with endless opportunities. I find the boot camp phenomenal with a very intensive curriculum while still being comprehensive. The staff are also very helpful and accommodating has led to a very good experience for me. Before I joined Melsoft academy, I had little knowledge in web development and software programming/coding. 've had the incredible opportunity to study at Melsoft Academy for the past 4 months as a software engineering student, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for me. The mentors at Melsoft are truly exceptional - always available, patient, and determined to ensure that every student fully comprehends the coursework. As someone who had no prior coding experience, their supportive approach made me feel right at home in the world of programming.
Minor drawbacks, ccasionally, the schedule can feel a bit intense, but the mentors are flexible and accommodating when you need extra time. Despite this, the overall experience and knowledge gained far outweigh these slight shortcomings. CONS:⏹️If you're anywhere other than Johannesburg, you miss out on the onsite weekly gatherings on Wednesdays⏹️Although the course is suitable for everyone; even those with no coding experience, due to the intense nature of the bootcamp, to maximise on the experience and minimise feeling overwhelmed and out of place, I would suggest some self-study before commencing this bootcamp
Overall this bootcamp is an excellent way to prepare you for real-world virtual work environments. 
If you need someone to hold your hand or simply grasp things better from physical or mostly real time instruction then it might not be most suitable for you but definitely still worth considering.
I attended another bootcamp in 2020 and made more progress in 3 months than I did in 3 years. 
This bootcamp has definately been the best decision I made for my career in 2023 and therefore I highly recommend. 👍🏻👌🏻🙌🏻
