I choose the Great Learning Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to deepen my technical expertise. I think I was a bit skeptical like most people joining an online program for the first time. You don't know what to expect in terms of quality. The staff. The students. Everything has met my expectations, and even surpassed them in some cases. The great learning platform also has a dedicated space for career orientation and prep. Which I thought was pretty cool. This program was excellent for me as a beginner in Data Science. In few months we overview the foundations and went to complex concepts in AI. The faculty and coaches were very patient and facilitate the information with real case scenarios. The activities and learning material are very useful. Coding with Phyton is not difficult and I couldn’t get the basic level for starting my journey as data scientist. The data science course was incredibly insightful and well-structured, providing a comprehensive understanding of complex topics. The instructors were knowledgeable, engaging, and always willing to help, making the learning experience highly effective and enjoyable. The hands-on projects were especially valuable, as they allowed us to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world data.

However, the time between the final report submission and the presentation felt a bit too short. A slightly longer gap would give students more time to refine their presentations based on feedback and ensure they deliver their best work. I have just finished the Data Science Program and I would like to share my opinion. First of all, I would like to mention that I had no preparation in Python programming or statistics. Great Learning took care of the training before the start of the program, which allowed me to prepare very well for lectures, mentoring sessions and projects. The materials are very good and the content is delivered in a very professional way. By participating in this program, you gain knowledge about data analysis and visualization, unsupervised training, Deep Learning, Recommendation System. 12 very intensive weeks of classes - but also time to gain fantastic knowledge. The folks at Great Learning have really done a great job of partnering with the professors of MIT in the IDSS program to truly democratize education. I've been on the MOOC train since Coursera came on the scene around 2010-2011. This is definitely the future, as they can breakdown concepts that are foreign to most of us without a tech or math background, making it digestible and makes sense in our business lives. The support given is top notch and they truly care about your experience and actually help you in any way they can, they are flexible and quite giving of their time considering the time zone difference in India as they teach learners from all over the world. This was my time to attend online courses, and I chose Great Learning because it provided MIT certificate of Data Science. It really sounds attractive.  

I was an expert of digital marketing especially Facebook and Google paid ads. Since I learned Econometrics when I was a graduate student and Econometrics also included linear regression and binary regression, part of Data Science was not totally new for me. 

However, Data Science provided by Great Learning explored more advanced topics than I thought. I provided amazing online courses that the main lectures were taught by MIT professors who went through many important concepts, and during the courses, professors were always willing to answer students' questions.

During the weekend, Great Learning arranged mentor sessions around 10-12 students and students can clarify any problems that was learned from this week. The mentor went through how to use these methods in Python. I really loved the mentor session since I didn’t have any Python background. 

To be honest, I was not a Python expert after this lecture, but I learned many Python logics and I could keep learning Python on my own since I know many basic concepts of Python from this lecture. Moreover, I also learned more skills to read the data and analyze the data, and then interpreting the results. The assignments and the capstone report are very practical that we could really use it in the real world to solve for the problems! This is the best part!!

Originally, I was not very confident that I could get the certificate. I spent 1-2 hours per day learning Data Science as I was working. I couldn’t believe that I overcame it, but yes, I did it. Thank you, all mentors, managers and professor of courses.  

If you don’t have time to attend all courses, Great Learning also kept all records that allows students to do review. They also provided various channels to answer any problems regarding the courses. 

Now I’m going to update my CV to pursue a better job and better future for myself. 😊

The AI and Machine Learning Course was an amazing experience! The course was well-structured, starting with the basics and gradually introducing more advanced concepts, making it easy to follow along even for those without prior experience. The MIT professors were fantastic, with deep knowledge and a knack for making complex ideas accessible. What I loved most was the hands-on approach, working on real-world data projects that gave me practical skills to apply immediately in my work. The collaborative atmosphere with fellow students made it even more enriching. Overall, it was a highly valuable learning journey, and I feel confident tackling AI challenges in the future!  Read less
