I recently had the privilege of participating in an AI program offered by MIT, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. The program was an enlightening journey into the depths of artificial intelligence, guided by some of the brightest minds in the field.



From the moment I enrolled, I was impressed by the level of organization and professionalism exhibited by the MIT team. The curriculum was meticulously crafted to cover a wide range of AI topics, from machine learning algorithms to natural language processing techniques.



What truly set this program apart was the hands-on approach to learning. Through practical exercises, real-world case studies, and collaborative projects, I not only gained a deep understanding of AI concepts but also developed the skills needed to apply them in practical scenarios.



Moreover, the instructors were outstanding in their knowledge and ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner. Their passion for AI was infectious, and it fueled my own enthusiasm to delve deeper into this fascinating field.

Very interesting topic. Great concept taught by MIT professors in a clear way for such a complex topic. The quizzes, projects and mentor sessions helped to reinforce the learning as well as to understand how to use it in business applications. In addition, the hands-on sessions helped to understand how to use the Rapidminer / Dataiku tools. Last but not least, I am also so grateful that there is flexibility to accommodate my situation when I was going through Covid for quite a while and being in different time zone.  Read less

The course is not for everyone, though you do learn a lot and esp. Python (which was the main reason I wanted to learn), this course is great for people who have experience with coding.  I have a graduate degree in Health focused Informatics/Information Management.  This was a challenging course.  You do learn a lot, it takes up lots of your time and it will take 3 months (or a little more) to finish the program and except to do 18-20+ hours/week for a person who has no programing experience.  Is it worth it and will it help? The answer: it depends.  If you are not in healthcare and you want to learn about AI and coding and what it can do and how to use Python then Absolutely take this course! For myself, I took this course to have better understanding on how to use Python (though in the medical world SQL is what they use).  I wanted to have a better grasp on coding and this course delivered.    Read less

I recently completed the Applied Data Science program with MIT through the Great Learning platform, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The platform's user-friendly interface, knowledgeable mentors, and well-organized lectures made the learning process seamless. This course showed me that in 5-10 years, people aren’t going to be able to survive without ai tools. I’m not going to be a software engineer, but this course really helped me understand how ai tools work and their capabilities. If you want to be a software engineer this course is phenomenal, it just wasn’t my personal goal. I had an amazing experience with the Data Science program. How the information was structured and the quality of the mentoring sessions was helpful in the learning process. Even though some of the courses didn't include as much coding as I would have liked, the information given in the pre-reads was detailed in such a way that it made the understanding of the basics of the processes that we had to run in the projects easier providing a strong foundation for our work. Before this course, I developed few ML and DL models for our business needs. However not having a full understanding of what are the different models' capabilities, how to measure the performance, how to finetune, and when to trust the model. Ask me one of the best decisions I made in 2023, I would say it was enrolling in this course. I had almost moved on to other things but changed my mind at the last minute to apply for it and I do not regret coming on board. Yes, I almost quit mid way as certain things weren't clear (Pandas almost messed with my head) but the program Manager came through on how to navigate and learn better. A great Guy. As a data enthusiast, I just realised what I had been missing. This course has spurred my interest in taking on more courses in Data Science & Machine Learning which I definitely will. I took the 3 month long No Code AI course and found it to be challenging but also well set up for a complete beginner like myself to learn and excel. It was demanding at times to adhere to the schedule with two little kids at home and a full time job, but overall I was able to keep up with the pace of the class and assessments and learn along the way. The program offers great support as well, and the live mentored learning sessions and program manager were great. Having a structured environment to learn a complex new skillset was really helpful and I’m excited to keep learning on my own moving forward. Read less

The Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning conducted by Great Learning in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business more than exceeded my expectations.  It was comprehensive, engaging, rigorous, and at times extremely challenging.  It begins with a 4-week Python programming boot camp for those with little to no programming experience and from there goes into the fundamentals of AI/ML.  The Olympus Learning Management System (LMS), where you will spend most of your learning journey outside of working on specific projects, I found it to be easily navigable and accommodating.  

Unlike other online courses, this program stands out with its commitment to translating theoretical knowledge into practical skills essential for excelling in the AI/ML industry. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering cutting-edge technologies like Deep Learning, Computer Vision, NLP, TensorFlow, Generative AI, and more. What sets this program apart is its learn-by-doing approach, allowing students to apply their skills in real-time through interactive mentor-led sessions and hands-on projects. The structured learning journey, combined with mentor support and their rich professional experience, ensures students achieve their learning milestones while building a robust portfolio. Right from the orientation session, the objectives and expectations were clearly set. Our batch had students from diverse backgrounds ranging from IT to Real Estate. A lot of us did not have any knowledge or experience in coding or software development.  The program managers Pragya and Anwesha ensured that we were not lost during the course and provided all the necessary support to complete the program.
The professors and mentors were top notch. Concepts in the videos are explained thoroughly and clearly, right from basics. For someone not so well versed in Mathematics, I would recommend brushing up a bit on high school math. That is all you need to succeed in this course. Inspite of the math involved , the professors explained it in simple language and built upon examples and real life scenarios. Our mentors Shaheen, Mahesh Tripathi and Shubham Sharma were also excellent in clearing our doubts, no matter how basic or silly they were.  It helped in building a lot of confidence. Overall, the Great Learning team does a fantastic job of guiding students into embracing an entirely new skill set, irrespective of their background. Help from existing and previous students is immense on the Community portal. 
I will recommend this course to anyone wanting to dip their toes in AI without getting overwhelmed. 

Cons: I have not felt many cons except that the course is quite fast paced for someone already busy with professional and personal obligations. However, the program managers are always there to support and they make it easier to complete the course.  Read less

The course provided an excellent introduction to AIML and covered essential core concepts. I found the pre-work very helpful / useful in introducing me to the course and its concepts. Overall, the course was well designed with recorded lectures, followed by mentor learning sessions to better understand concepts from lectures supported by Q&A. The projects helped with practical application of concepts learned. A variety of course materials including case studies are provided, which are very helpful. Coverage around use of available no-code tools to implement such concepts were excellent and augmented the learning experience.

Points to consider: At time of registration, the impression was that the course is 10-12 hrs. / week. I believe this is closer to 20 hrs. / week if one wants to learn and apply the concepts well especially for project work. Also, most registrants had the impression that the MIT lectures would be live. During orientation, this was clarified. At least some of us were surprised that that would not be the case. I can understand why. Will be good to clarify this at time of registration. While the industry mentor sessions are helpful, not all mentors are at par. The mentor assigned to us, while was good in his concepts and application of those concepts, appeared to have little coaching experience. Will be good to consider those with good / excellent coaching experience. Also, would be beneficial to allow students to download video sessions for future reference. While a lot of the video material is covered in downloadable PDFs, Excels, CSVs and textual content, explanations of some of the concepts cannot be captured in documents. Again, I understand IP restrictions, but will be good to have access to such sessions beyond the 6-month limit. Read less

I recently completed Great Learning’s ‘Data Science and Machine learning’ Online Program that left me thoroughly impressed. The program offered a dynamic exploration of artificial intelligence, combining robust theoretical foundations with practical applications.
A standout feature was the incorporation of insightful case studies, offering real-world perspectives on AI applications across diverse industries. Most of the difficult topics were covered multiple times by different Mentor’s to make
sure subject is understood thoroughly.
The lecturers were exceptional, possessing deep expertise and effective communication skills. Their ability to convey complex concepts in a clear manner, coupled with an interactive teaching style, fostered a collaborative learning environment.
The administrative staff and my program manager (Vanshika) encouraged and proactively provided needed support in a timely manner to keep me on track to complete the course successfully. This support is highly appreciated.
With its well-crafted content, up-to-date material, insightful case studies, coverage of latest trends, exceptional lecturers, and dedicated administrative team, it stands as a must for anyone aspiring to thrive in the dynamic field of AI and machine learning.
