ENTITY Academy

This has been an amazing experience so far! I love the fact that I have access to my mentor weekly and there are posted office hours for coursework help. The Fireside chats have been invaluable, so far. I have gained so much insight into what potential employers are looking for and understanding what is important when applying for different roles. I am also excited that I will finish the program with at least two projects in my portfolio. I just can't say enough about this program. I had a wonderful experience with my Data Science Certification program that I completed in 2021. I signed up on a whim and started class the same day. I fell in love with the content and also became so comfortable with the mentorship and support. I was very limited with my tech capabilities because I was set in my old ways, and hadn't had experience even using Slack. Entity mentors put me at ease and held my hand figuratively through many times. I am currently interviewing for jobs, and I am getting responses and interviews. I can't apply to jobs fast enough because there are so many to choose from. I am a single mom of three in my mid 40s and I still finished it with great grades! I had such a great experience that I convinced my 20 yr old daughter to try it out, and she loved it too. It's been a great bonding experience, and she will be graduating next week! Read less

This is the only Bootcamp that I found that help with finding their students jobs after completing the program as well as making it affordable for those like myself that wouldn't have been able to afford any upfront $1000 or more deposit like that of other Data Science/Data Analyst bootcamps that I've encountered. Also, the program is just as challenging as any other bootcamp. Only issue I've encountered is getting help sometimes for assignments that are due the day of or after a certain time of the day; in addition, some of the textbook/lecture reading sometimes don't explain certain topics thoroughly and that's when the mentors come in handy when available. Overall, it's been a great program and I'm sure other bootcamp programs have their shortcomings as well but as least this one is affordable especially during a time where employment is hard to obtain. I’ve been in my program about four months now and I really it enjoy it more than I expected. I like problem solving and my mentor is always available to help when I am confused or feel like giving up. The mentors really make the program without them I would’ve been so lost. I hope to be a mentor one when obtain all the knowledge needed. I would highly recommend this program. Read less

It's been an adventure! I took a chance on myself to ignore the "I'm too old to learn something new" and enrolled into the data science course as to reinvent myself. The mentors are wonderful and are always there to help you out. The hands on assignments are real world situations and that is beneficial for creating a portfolio when you're done with the course.  Read less

I started the program a couple weeks ago, but have felt part of the community for weeks now. There has been so much support and encouragement from the start of my journey with Entity and I have appreciated how it's encouraged me and made me believe this is something I can accomplish. 

The opportunities for meeting people in the field through Fireside chats is priceless and so helpful to receive insider information from someone actually doing it in real time.

I came across the Entity Academy's Data Science Virtual Academy through an advertisement. As a data analyst, I signed up almost immediately because I thought this would be a great opportunity to enhance my current knowledge and upskill in the process. 

While attending the academy, I had two amazing mentors that helped me the most. Whenever I was really stuck or had an issue with any assignment, they were extremely helpful and guided me through the process. During my final project, the instructor and one of the mentors offered a lot of support, guidance, and encouragement for me and my project partner to build confidence in our work. 

After the final project and post-graduation, I had tremendous help from Mark Gasche to hone and polish both my soft skills and resume. With his help and expertise, I applied for a Senior Analyst position and landed the job!!! Although I have a background in data analysis, computer science, and SQL, my newly acquired knowledge of Python, R, Tableau, and predictive modeling/machine learning helped push me over the edge! I loved my courses!! I’ve always had an analytical mind and this came easy. The help from the mentors and support that was given helped to keep me motivated. Some of the course work needs to be updated but being able to ask a mentor if there was a problem was invaluable!! I would definitely recommend if you are looking to upgrade your resume and work. The curriculum covers a wide range of materials in compressed modules. It does a good job explaining the technical parts as well as the concepts behind each one. I'm currently not working and only has my Data Science school work that I found to be a bit more time-consuming than I expected so be prepared to put in as much effort as you can learning the material. The mentors are very helpful and responsive and it's been very easy to get assistance when needed. Read less

I love the fact that I get a lot of support systems through my learning. Knowing the fact that I am deaf, I was never treated any different. I was supported every steps of the way when I needed help to understand what I am doing. Captions were provided and I am satisfied with every efforts they have put in. Highly respectful! Read less

Entity Academy is partnered with WOZ In offering the Data Science program. I was skeptical but I really liked the coaching portion that Entity had to offer. There are coaches that really care about your well being and mental health. They taught us duty skills, management, and with stress. Or you can have a one-on-one with the amazing Ayana. There is live zoom meetings with various professionals in the data science or tech field. 

Woz U is behind the data science portion and offers lessons, modules to pass. The exercises and graded projects I feel really helped me understand the materials. But having said that I think you should still look at outside resources or ask your mentors for help. You are assigned and mentor and meet with them weekly so that you’re accountable and also can ask for help. So far the mentors I encountered are really cool and helpful. The supplant course outline and videos are soooo helpful. When I was stuck I would look at them. I have taken Database course at my college and I felt I learned more from the database course here at Entity. I loving my experience so far and looking to graduate.  Read less

I never thought I would be good at coding and learning programming languages until I started the data science program with ENTITY Academy. The materials provided broke down technical concepts in a very easy-to-understand way, and help was always readily available when I needed it. You have to put in the time, energy and effort to find success but ENTITY does a great job of supporting students through one-on-one mentorship for hard skills and group coaching for soft skills. They also gave me financial assistance where I could complete the program without having to worry about payment until after I’ve secured a job (which ENTITY’s career services will help me with). The organization as a whole is clearly dedicated to empowering women to excel in the tech industry. Before I came to ENTITY I was struggling to find the right school for me. A lot of other colleges offering data science programs were either too lengthy, didn’t promise a career in the future, or were just way too expensive. I’m honestly very lucky to have come upon this school. The mentorship and lesson communication is phenomenal. We have reviews that test our knowledge and really help us to retain the information that we will need in our future careers! Entity offers job placement, life coaching, and so many other rewarding programs that serve as motivational affirmations. They push us forward! As women! And as students. When I was looking to start a bootcamp I didn’t know where to start. I’ve come across entity and sent an email. I was followed up with a call and from there I knew this is the bootcamp I want to attend. I’ve started in January all my courses are pretty straight forward whenever I have questions my mentor or any mentor is available to jump on a zoom to walk me through.
