Coding Temple

When I started my journey at coding temple I was unsure how it was going to go. I’d always wanted to learn but wasn’t sure if I was good enough. But the course work and information provided by coding temple really helped me and I was able to learn something I’ve always wanted. With the help of people like Dylan Katina my backend specialization teacher I was able to learn a language (Python) that I struggle a lot with grasping. Thank you for your time and effort!!! This Software Engineering Course tested me and challenged me, but I think it was for the better! I am proud of the knowledge that I gained. I believe the course does have room for potential improvement in the way of teaching up-to-date software and principles. But the instructors!! The instructors were A+ from beginning to end! Overall, I had a great experience with this program and would recommend it to anyone who is motivated and wants a faced paced software engineering program. I would recommend going into this with either a small amount of knowledge in coding and the ability to stay motivated and proactive in your learning. The instructors and staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and wanted us to succeed. I mainly went through this course to learn backend, and the instructor Dylan, was extremely helpful and willing to help whenever I got stuck or needed clarification. I was a bit apprehensive going into a bootcamp as I've heard many mixed views on them ranging from, they suck - go get a degree, to they're awesome - changed my life. I can say, I am in the latter mindset, I'm excited to see where this achievement takes me and now have the tools to face any road blocks that come my way. Read less

Coming into this course with only a foundational background in software engineering and computer science from a game development perspective, I was initially unsure whether I would be able to grasp the new concepts and complete the wide range of projects within a clear timeframe. However, I quickly discovered that those doubts were unfounded. The course provided a clear, structured entry point into broader areas of software engineering, supported by an abundance of high-quality content and accessible help sessions.A major highlight for me was the backend software engineering module led by Dylan Katina. His guidance and the depth of the material—especially in areas like SQL and API development—were instrumental in my learning journey. I walked away with skills and completed projects I never imagined I’d be capable of, and I now feel confident in taking the next steps toward networking and working with the career services team to launch my career. This bootcamp was extremely rewarding and definitely worth the stress it brought on. The staff as a whole was extremely responsive and helpful. I would like to give a big shout out to Allan Ahmed, Dylan Katina, and Yessica Sosa for maintaining a calm and helpful attitude during the stress induced constant questionnaires. For anyone leading an already busy life, this will be a challenge but the end is worth it. For anyone attempting it, I would allocate more time than is recommended depending on your current lifestyle and focus abilities. Read less

The instructors and support staff truly made this experience exceptional. Dylan and Yessica, in particular, went above and beyond to make sure that even with my hectic and unpredictable schedule, I stayed on track, met my deadlines, and completed the coursework to the best of my ability.

When I began, I had zero background in coding languages or application structures. I simply knew I had a passion for technology and believed in the long-term growth of this industry. Thanks to the structure of the program and the incredible support I received, I was able to build a strong foundation with just about an hour a day dedicated to lessons, projects, and troubleshooting.

I'm excited to continue building my skills and to start my career in tech.

I came into this boot camp already having a degree in Computer Science but having several years since having used my degree. This boot camp was perfect in helping basically build back the basics of my knowledge and expanding on what I already knew. My instructor, for the Back-End Specialization, Dylan was very helpful and kept in consistent communication with any issues that came up. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking at getting into software development as they have a team that wants to see you succeed and will help however they can to see you success. Read less

I joined Coding Temple in November 2024 for the Software Engineering track. I can say without a doubt it was worth every cent. From flexible payment options, to the instructors and constant events. I felt like there was always something going on that I could join and hop into to get involved. Yes the course work is a bit difficult at first but there is more than enough support to reach out for help and guidance and additional teaching and coaching. My only regret is not taking advantage of the resources more due to my busy schedule with a full time job. If I could I would do it all over again and dedicate more time to the taking part in events and trainings.

I had an incredible experience with Coding Temple’s Software Engineering program! As someone new to tech, I learned so much in a short time, building a personal portfolio and a Match Card Game that boosted my front-end skills with JavaScript and CSS. The support staff—especially the instructors and 1-on-1 tutors—were amazing, always going above and beyond with guidance and encouragement, even outside class hours. I completed the self paced course in late 2023 and I enjoyed my time learning new skills and working with great instructors and tutors. I felt supported and encouraged during the course and there were tutors readily available to help. Once I completed the course this completely changed. I had to reach out multiple times to get transitioned into the alumni slack and once I was in there it took weeks and multiple forms before I could meet with someone to look over my resume and my LinkedIn. Once I got a meeting schedule the person I worked with was a tremendous help but he told me he was leaving CT at the end of the month and I would not have to fill out another form again and someone on the alumni side would reach out. Weeks went by and nothing happened, again multiple forms and sitting around waiting to hear back. The next person to reach out to me then proceeded to tell me I had to change everything I just spent the last month working on with the previous career employee. I became extremely frustrated and felt abandoned during my post graduate experience and job search and decided to abandon a career in software development because of this. The career side seems understaffed and I couldn’t get consistent help over the span of 6 months, while there were some resources available I felt they were not worth the money I paid and it didn’t match the personalized help I was promised I would receive when we went through orientation. If you’re looking for a bootcamp I recommend to find one that doesn’t collect any payment until a job is secured or else you may find yourself in my situation with empty promises. Read less

My experience with Coding Temple and their Software Engineering course was wonderful. I was new to coding prior to taking this course and I was able to easily understand and implement all the concepts covered. After finishing the back end specialization, I feel confident I have the skills required to find a job using everything I learned at Coding Temple. Coding Temple was an incredible experience that gave me a solid foundation in both front-end and back-end development. Learning Flask and backend concepts was eye-opening, and the hands-on projects made everything click. The front-end curriculum was just as strong, covering modern frameworks and best practices. Donovan was absolutely amazing—his patience, clarity, and willingness to help made a huge difference in my learning. Coding Temple has been a life-changing experience. The program is challenging, but the support system is incredible. With Slack, email, Zoom, and Discord, there was always a way to get help. Screen sharing made it easy to solve complex problems in real-time.The instructors’ availability was truly unmatched. Mr. Peck's patience while teaching backend core concepts made an enormous difference in my learning. Similarly, Ms. Mehner’s dedication to staying after class to dive deeper into frontend concepts ensured I fully understood every detail.My main focus was backend development, and Mr. Katina was instrumental in that journey. His calm demeanor and encouragement replaced my initial anxiety with confidence. He consistently reminded me that I was progressing further than I realized—and he was absolutely right! I decided to change careers at the ripe age of 47. Attending Coding Temple was by far the best experience I’ve ever had compared to the other professional career schools I’ve attended. I didn't feel that this was a typical, cookie-cutter program. 

I made a ton of friends that I still talk to and collaborate with. The program was flexible with my schedule and I never had to figure things out alone. We all worked as a team, building really cool projects and by the time I graduated, I had a portfolio of cybersecurity projects to show to potential employers. 

At graduation, I felt job ready. I also earned my CompTIA Security+ Certification. I think this 'cert' made me stand out, along with the 9 other certificates I received because as soon as I posted it on my LinkedIn profile and started applying for jobs, I started getting interviews... which brings me to the next point and maybe the most important point. 

I graduated in one of the worst 'tech job applicant markets the world had ever seen' lol ... However, CT had reverse recruiters helping me with everything job related. As everyone else on LinkedIn was complaining that they were not getting noticed by employers, I was. I didn't say too much in public because I knew that a lot of folks were really struggling out there in the job market and tooting my own horn would have caused negative emotions. 

Then it came down to 3 employers that offered me a job. One of them was toxic. One paid $$$ but would have required much more time than I wanted to give... but the one I really wanted checked off 3 of the 4 boxes on my vision board and that's the one I chose. So not only did I get hired but I got to choose the company I wanted to work for and here's the kicker!... They initially reached out to me first! I shit you not!

The total time from day 1 of the starting the program and not even knowing what an IP address was until I was hired was exactly 7 months. I didn't start paying for the program until I was hired. 

Long story short, this was a wonderful and fun experience, and I recommend that anyone who wants to change their life, go for it! I don't want to leave a review without also leaving the full story. They were expensive and I didn't have the money at the time. I looked at all of the other programs and saw that a few of them were cheaper. Then I started digging  and found out why. My dad gave me a lot of advice in life and one of them is, "In life, you get what you pay for."  Read less

When I first began researching coding bootcamps, I was a little unsure about which one to choose as there are so many of them out there. I ultimately chose Coding Temple because of positive student reviews, career services, and the tech residency program. It was a rigorous, but incredibly rewarding course that has brought me so far ahead from when I first started learning about coding. The classes are well taught, and the instructors truly go out of their way to help the students both by meeting 1 on 1 as well as hosting workshops to teach interview practice tips. Many of the instructors have made a positive impact on me including, but not limited to, Travis, Sarah, Grayson, Daniel, and Yessica. The tech residency program, while intense, it was an incredible experience that taught me about how to build an app with a team and meet deadlines. What I learned during the tech residency could not have been learned without participating in the program. Enrolling in the software engineering bootcamp at Coding Temple was one of the best decisions I ever made! I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to enroll in a coding bootcamp. The first time I called them I thought they were a scam LOL but then they started to explain what they were all about and everything began to sink in. I hope everyone who reads this that are thinking about going this career route has an opportunity to talk to them and check out what an amazing school they are. They will help you throughout the whole program, is not a moment that are going to feel alone. This is a life-changing decision and they would make it fun and dynamic to learn it and be part of the experience. I just graduated from a part-time software engineering class, Thieves 139, and it was one of the most enriching educational experiences I’ve had. The class, led by Dylan and Christian, was outstanding. Their teaching style was exceptional—clear, engaging, and particularly effective in making complex topics easily understandable. Dylan and Christian's approach was not only interactive but also incredibly supportive, encouraging continuous learning and fostering cohort unity. The class was both informative and fun, making it a standout experience. I will wholeheartedly recommend this bootcamp to anyone reading this review. I had a hobbyist background in coding knowledge, and the amount I learned in 12 weeks was quite frankly astounding. My instructors Christian and Dylan were an integral part in making my experience so exceptional. They were both incredibly knowledgeable, excellent at communicating concepts and laying out the logic behind what we were doing, and didn't hesitate if you needed additional help grasping a concept or were stuck on a tricky issue. They're also just both friendly and personable people who made class enjoyable.

A word of advice if you do take this class. Take the amount of time you think you'll need to invest and double it. You get as much out of this program as you put into it, and the time investment required to do well in the class is substantial. The curriculum is fairly fast-paced, and if you don't fully grasp a concept you may find it difficult to understand future concepts. Thankfully, like I mentioned Christian and Dylan did a wonderful job of both explaining initially, and assisting if you don't understand something.

If you're like me and you've tried to do self-paced classes a few times and burned out, then this is the course for you. They will push you to further your knowledge, and I am very grateful I decided to take the plunge and take this bootcamp. Read less
