Prior to coding temple I had no experience.
 However the structors(Kevin, Alex, Devon) were able to give me the tools to get me where I am today. There's was some points where I felt lost but meeting with them helped me and got me through. From the initial phone call, every single person that I've encountered at Coding Temple has been extremely helpful. The prework definitely helped me prepare for the bootcamp. When I started, I was completely new to coding/programming. I had Terrell and Ryan as instructors, and they did an amazing job breaking down and explaining every single language/concept in the program. The 10 weeks go by very quickly but there are a couple that feel to drag because of the information overload. Figuring out the best way that I learned and retained information really helped me get the most out of the program. You really do get out what you put in. Remaining curious and asking lots of questions makes a huge difference!

I would definitely recommend this program to anyone that is ready to fully immerse themselves. No matter your level of experience, Coding Temple will help you learn what you need to learn to confidently start your new career. They have so many resources and are continuously adding more to the career services program after the bootcamp. Read less

I took Coding Temple's course full-time from August to October and couldn't be happier. Terrell and Ryan were awesome instructors and human-beings. Nicole was great and keeping all of us happy and on-track. Marlene was an indispensable resource in the job hunt; thanks to her guidance I was lined up with an accepted offer and a start date within a month of finishing the program.

I waited to do the review until I had some time in at my new position to be able to speak on how the program prepared me for my role. I can happily say that I was given the knowledge and resources to either out-right know what I was doing or know where to look if I needed guidance or documentation. I graduated from the program in January 2022, and I got to say this was one of the best decisions I made.  The program is very fast-paced and you learn a lot in these 10 weeks. The instructors and support staff were always available whenever I needed help. Be ready to spend 70-80 hours a week if you want to get the most out of this Bootcamp. You'll get what you put into it. I highly recommend this to anyone trying to get into the Software Engineer or Data Analytics industry.  Read less

I went into the program knowing that I wanted to perform data analysis, with some experience performing statistical analysis in an academic setting, but completely uninitiated in computer programming. I appreciated the introduction to a broad catalogue of technologies. If you're familiar with programming languages you might want more depth, but for a newbie it was a perfect introduction and I'm now confident in my ability to go deeper on my own time. 

Pros: I was introduced to a broad swath of technologies. This not only helped me narrow down my interests (data engineering), but it also made me feel more comfortable talking about programming in social and professional settings. I also appreciate the broad introduction because I developed skills I would have otherwise overlooked.
Instructors were knowledgeable and approachable.
I made great connections with my peers/classmates.

Cons: Hard to call it a con, but if you are unprepared for the pace it can be detrimental: the program moves very quickly, it's very easy to fall behind and feel overwhelmed if you don't check in with yourself and others OFTEN. Read less

I wish I had made the leap sooner. Going from a small business owner, to a student preparing for nursing school, to pivoting again in light of the pandemic, I made up my mind that software development was a path with limitless opportunities if only I could get through the door. I started researching, reading reviews, and calling different companies, and everyone I spoke to sounded the same, "Our program is the best! We have over a 95% employment rate..., etc.", but most of my questions weren't answered directly and I was tired of the canned responses. I was starting to wonder if all bootcamps were like this. Then I got a call back from Coding Temple. 

Ripal was sincere, had direct insight into the program, and was willing to have an honest conversation about the commitment it would take and how long it would be before I found a job (average is 3 months). His candor was what ultimately sold me on Coding Temple. He wasn't trying to sugarcoat anything, and I could tell he believed in the program. Turns out he was one of the cofounders! That conversation, along with the financing that allowed me to complete the program and likely find a job before paying anything back, gave me the confidence to step into a new career I knew nothing about, but I came away equipped with the experience to have professional conversations during my interviews and a portfolio that impressed recruiters. Marlene knew how to prepare me for the job search and put my best foot forward with my applications, and thanks to her guidance I had 2 different offers within 6 weeks and was able to start at an amazing company within 2 months of graduating. I couldn't have imagined making such a big decision and it turning out so well, and I owe it all to Coding Temple. Read less

If you are looking for 10 weeks of rigorous training in a specific tech discipline, this is not the place for you.

If you are looking to transition from another field, and have no idea where to start, but lots (and I mean LOTS) of motivation, this is the perfect starting place. Full-Stack means this place teaches front-end technologies and gets you making websites, but they also show you how to make databases and programs in the back-end, and hook those together with the web interfaces. TLDR: You can get a bunch of different jobs that will use skills you learn here. 

Now to the important stuff: Culture at Coding Temple is fantastic! They provide intense levels of support in the form of patient instructors, night-time AIs, career support that extends months beyond the end of the boot camp, interview training, algorithm practice, and I guess I'll end here: advice from a career advisor who is an experienced expert in her career. 

I am writing this after receiving an offer for a tech job in a tech firm rated in the best places to work in Chicago, so this is not me being optimistic; Coding Temple works if you do your part. Read less

I chose to make a career change much later in life.  Much later than most of my classmates.  There are sooooo many different options for bootcamps out there, which made this decision even tougher.  I researched and researched and decided Coding Temple had it all and in only 10 weeks.  I knew it would be tough, and it sure was!  Thankfully, I was dedicated and determined and that is key here.  You must be ready to put your social life aside and really put in your time. 

Coding Temple was a wonderful experience for me.  Nicole was very fun and pleasant to work w/ for onboarding and mid-course reviews.  My instructor (Derek) and TA (Lucas) are incredible at their jobs.  They were very thorough and always available to help, if we got lost or it didn't click right away.   I aim to be at their level someday..  Marlene (Alumni Director/ Career Coach) knows everything there is to know about resume-building and interviewing.  She's an amazing support/resource to have in this process of job hunting.

I would highly recommend Coding Temple if you're looking to make the jump into a tech role.  They have everything you need and the support to get you through the process.  Two thumbs up from me! Read less

I'm a recent graduate of the full time full-stack + data science program at Coding Temple (remote). Why Coding Temple over the others? The staff! The staff was helpful before, during, and still after the program is complete. They really want you to succeed but you get what you put into it like most things so be prepared.  The curriculum was intense but doable if you commit yourself. Full time means full-time so all of my free time was spent doing homework and projects.  What I didn't expect was developing the bonds with the other students that were and still is a great support system til this day. Send Coding Temple an email or give them a call, what do you got to lose?  Read less

I took Coding Temple's 10 week full-stack developer course and it was amazing.  I went into the program with no coding experience whatsoever, and Coding Temple got me from there to job ready in less than 3 months.  Since there was so much information, sometimes I needed extra help, and there was always assistance available (even on weekends!!).  My instructor Terrell was very knowledgeable and the assistant instructor Ryan was awesome.  Between the 2 of them every question anyone asked in class was answered thoroughly and usually they gave us a link to some additional info for us to look at if we wanted to as well.  Even though it was a lot of work, Terrell and Ryan taught the class in a way that made it fun to learn.  After graduation Coding Temple provides a career services program that is amazing.  Marlene is an incredibly valuable resource, giving so much insight to resumes, the ins and outs of interviewing, and how to prepare yourself and your work that I really felt confident about the whole process.  Nicole was so great too.  She organized activities and game nights and things that really focused on team building, which is a really important aspect of this whole thing, because these relationships turn into networks, and that leads to good things.  Overall, I only have positive things to say about Coding Temple.  I cannot believe how much I learned in such a short period of time, and how cool and fun the things I learned are.  This was totally worth the investment, and I cannot recommend Coding Temple highly enough. If you're looking for speed, this is the way to go. Take the time to set the rest of your life aside for ten weeks and dive in - this program will absolutely teach you what you need for entering the industry. Not only will you learn the technical skills, but you'll get the advice you need to navigate the industry, pass interviews, and more. The course is not just oriented around getting you a job, but truly giving you, the student, the requisite resources to continue growing after graduation and deeply understanding the code you'll write and work with. 

A word of advice to students who enroll.. Spend the time with the pre-work basics. I highly recommend at least googling some of the topics that are listed on the course offering ahead of time - Coding Temple staff are able to both teach people who have never written a line of code before, and they are also able to help people who have prior experience to "polish" their code, and in all things seek elegance. The staff at CT are the true gems of the program that set the institution apart from the rest - whether that's extra student activities and the community built, or the career guidance by people who could be elsewhere but have chosen to look after the students instead, or the knowledgeable TAs and instructors who are ready to help. I highly recommend Coding Temple to anyone who wants to take coding seriously, and fall in love with an incredible field of study.

And to those who are concerned (naturally) with getting a job as soon as possible after graduation... I had interviews scheduled before I'd finished graduating, and had classmates walk out from graduation into jobs the following Monday. It works. Read less

Coding Temple was an experience I wish I could have had right out of high school. Even with previous college experience, I became much more confident in my programming abilities. Even if you don't know a language, searching for what you need becomes insanely easier. It's easy to get into your head about not knowing what to do, and the work at Coding Temple made me much more confident. Read less

Amazing teachers and staff. Everyone was very supportive, which made the experience all the better. The course is fast paced, and you need to work a lot of hours to keep up, but that is why it is called a bootcamp! I had taken a couple of coding courses online before but attending this bootcamp helped me stay on track with my work and gave me a strong basis in full-stack development. The people working here is among one of the most supporting and caring people I've ever met. I started out struggling a lot because I have no prior experience with coding. With the support of the instructors, TAs, and my classmates, I ended up graduating and grasping the fundamentals of programming. I would vouch for the people here as they have been a part of my growth every step of the way. Despite that, understand that this is still a bootcamp so you will still be expected to put your own hours in to study and understand the material taught. Attending Coding Temple's online web development and data science bootcamp has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made. The program, while challenging, not only taught me the in-demand technologies and coding skills required to work in the tech industry, but it also gave me experience creating and developing real world projects that I was able to leverage in my search for full-time employment as a software engineer. The faculty and TA's are not only knowledgable and experienced but they make sure to serve as a guide in the professional development of each and every one of the students. If that's not enough, the student relations and career services provide extensive 1-on-1 support to make sure each student is progressing, not only in the program, but also in their professional development. The program does require students be dedicated to showing up and doing the work daily for 10-weeks, but students who do the work and stick with the program are sure to gain the tools and resources they need to work and succeed in the tech industry. I recently was offered and accepted a position as a software engineer that I couldn't have dreamed possible without the support and guidance from all of the faculty and staff at Coding Temple. Where to start, I'm not sure. Writing a review for Coding Temple and my experience is some what of a emotional situation for me in a good way. Some words about the employees first....Caring/Honest/Family/Supportive/Involved/Passionate/Open Minded/Creative are all words that come to mind when I think about the employees ranging from top to bottom. Some words for the program.........Tough/Achieving/Testing/Frustrating/Happy/Tiring/Lost/REWARDING! Coding Temple is possibly the hardest course I have ever taken in my life and I am someone that went to college for Computer Science and got Math burn out literally after 2 years non stop of it. Along my path at Coding Temple I met some awesome people and had the experience of my life. I truly felt like my success mattered to each and every person that worked there and my class mates as well. It is a tremendous amount of support at every turn you take......failure is not a option and I assure you there will be times when failure seems like a very real option as I hit that point more than once and was picked right up by the best group of people ever. Hell I still wonder how they all managed to be employed at the same place, it just isn't common anymore in my experience to be met by literally an entire workforce that falls in the category of my words about the employees. This program I would say is geared to someone ready to make a leap and achieve something that will create a career for themselves and test a person beyond words. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a Full-Stack bootcamp.

I just wrapped up my journey through Coding Temple's Part Time Python Bootcamp and I cannot express the level of gratitude I have for the people at CT! Between the beginning of April this year and now, I not only was going through their bootcamp, but also moved from CA to CO, planned a wedding and got married! Through it all, the staff at Coding Temple demonstrated just how committed they are to supporting me as one of their students! They provided extensions and the flexibility I needed to finish the program well! In all my research leading up to committing to Coding Temple, what made them stand out from the crowd was their emphasis on individualised attention! They live up to what they say on their website - as long as you are willing to do the work of messaging them and asking for help as you need it - they want you to understand the curriculum and find a balance between taking the time to do the work and keeping up with the day-to-day. 

The program's main priority as far as curriculum is exposure. They know that 12 weeks is not enough time to cover everything about everything, but they do a solid job of giving you the essentials about HTML, CSS, Python, Flask, SQL, JavaScript, React with as much of Pandas and NumPy added onto the end before starting the final capstone project.

Most important are the instructors and staff, just like any other class or course, a teacher can make or break a class and I truly could not have made it through this bootcamp without Nate, Marcus and Nicole pushing me in the right direction each week!

TLDR: My experience at Coding Temple was very positive - I thought they had a well-rounded approach to teaching me and my cohort the technical and non-technical sides of learning how to code and transitioning into a career. I highly recommend it for those interested in software engineering, especially if you don’t have any coding experience. They have amazing staff - job support (Marlene) is there for you and wants you to succeed. However, their curriculum was not as in-depth as I wanted it to be for data-analytics part of the course.----There’s a lot of resources out there that can teach you how to code. For me, learning on my own from scratch felt slow and I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with it. With Coding Temple, I got to ask all the questions I couldn’t ask to an 8 hour-long YouTube tutorial and that helped me process and apply what I learned better. The curriculum covered a good variety (Advanced Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Flask, React & Data Analytics) of topics so I feel like I got just enough exposure to understand the basics and dive deep into a project at the end of each week. At the same time, I think the curriculum could be more in-depth with data analytics. During the data analytics part of the course, there were a couple days when class ended early and we mainly covered how to code for data analytics (Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib). It would've been nice to cover different algorithms/machine learning concepts. Regardless, I’ve come to realize learning doesn’t end with the bootcamp, and I feel like I got a good understanding of programming and basic concepts from the classes to give me the push I needed to learn on my own and create personal projects afterwards.My instructor Joel and TA Terrell were very patient and committed to helping me & my cohort understand the content. As long as you are also patient and committed to the process (whether that’s trying to debug your code, figuring out a solution for your problem, understanding a confusing concept), they are there to do it with you. The small class sizes (mine was ~10) were definitely helpful, I felt like there was a comfortable environment for us to ask questions and collaborate together. This might be a different experience for everyone, but my tip is to keep an open mind and put in as much as you want out of it.

As for the non-technical sides of coding, Coding Temple has amazing staff and resources to support you through the bootcamp and the career search. The culture of the bootcamp is what really stands out for me, and I’m grateful I got to be a part of it. Nicole (student relations manager) and Marlene (career coach) emphasized that they are there to help you succeed and I felt that through & through. Nicole has a great network of guest speakers, and I love that she brought in speakers who addressed imposter syndrome and the mental health aspects of job searching. Marlene was incredibly helpful in navigating the job search and networking. I was able to find a job during the bootcamp, and even though it wasn’t related to SWE or data analytics, Marlene helped me through the hiring process, negotiating and networking! The conversations I had with Nicole, Marlene and the guest speakers were very empowering and continue to stick with me after the bootcamp.  Read less
