Coding Temple

Wow, to say that this program is amazing is an understatement! I came into this course with a lack of confidence in my technical abilities, and now I am so proud to say that I've graduated from this program. The instructors are so incredibly helpful and completely dedicated to walking their students understand the content at hand. When I decided to enroll in Coding Temple, I had been job searching for almost seven months with little to no prospects. I began searching for bootcamps and I stumbled upon Coding Temple, and I sure am happy that I did. I had little coding experience heading in, but now I am a full-fledge software developer. The teachers, the other students, the resources, I really couldn't ask for anything better. If you know this is what you want to do, you will find no better place than Coding Temple.

I took the full-time course and I was working part-time through it. It was difficult, I won't lie to you and say it was easy. If you can, try to not have to work and solely focus on the bootcamp. But I promise you, if you work hard and really give it your all, in 10 weeks, you will have the skills to start a whole new career making a whole lot more money (or potential to make a whole lot more money) than whatever you were doing before. I started coding temple late march this year, I went into it not knowing a thing about coding. I really surprised myself with how fast, and how much I was able to learn thanks to my amazing instructors Terrell and Ryan. They made the class very fun and inviting but also very educational. Coding Temple was a great school! I learned a lot in my 10-week program.  It was very challenging. You will put in a lot of hours outside of class, but it is really worth it. They teach you the most up-to-date technology and practices. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, and the support staff are great! You will be expected to put in the work and effort, but they provide a lot of support and help for you when you need it. Everyone is easily accessible, and they actually respond to you when you reach out to them. They provide a ton of job support after you graduate. You have interview support, job search support, resume writing support, weekly coding post-grad class, and continued coding challenges to help you stay up to date on your coding skills.  Read less

I had a great time during my experience at Coding Temple, if you get Brian as your teacher consider yourself lucky. He's a great teacher, very patient and can teach difficult concepts to a brick wall. It is a lot of work, so make sure you have the time. You'll have homework (nearly) every night on top of a full day of class, and your weekend will be filled with a project covering all the topics of that week. I had a little programming experience going in, self taught mostly but nothing too special so the first few weeks went pretty well, but it quickly jumped in complexity and I found myself studying and programming late into the night. 

Overall, I learned more in these 10 weeks than I ever could have on my own and I'm glad I was lucky enough to be in a position to take this course. Read less

If you're looking for a bootcamp that not only provides you with the resources to be successful but also gives you a sense of belonging, look no further! My instructors Ryan and Terrell were the absolute best. They were very patient with everyone in our cohort and extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention there was never a dull moment with them two. 

After graduation, you are also provided with the resources that teach you how to successfully look for a job in the tech world. Marlene, the alumni director, is a rock star! She will provide you with valuable feedback and will tell you things the way they are, no sugar coating.

Coding Temple was a great way for me to finish off my self teaching in computer programming.  Even though I have very good discipline, this really forced me to put in the work and to really learn in a fast world environment. You will learn a lot in a little time but you will learn how to problem solve and figure things out regardless of the language(JavaScript, Python, SQL...etc).  I was able to land a job months after graduating thanks to their outstanding after grad program, this for me was a great help.  I learned to write and create resumes, cover letters, talk with recruiters and possible employers about my abilities and myself.  Then I continued my learning with more classes about algorithms and interview challenges that the school offers all while bouncing ideas off of other cohorts.        Read less

I didn't want a program that was set up as a bunch of videos to watch with no real support. I could get that from YouTube. So when I was researching the different bootcamp options out there, I liked that Coding Temple offered an instructor. Most did for full-time/in-person courses but CT also offers instructor support in their Self-Paced program. The instructor was extremely helpful when I ran into issues or needed a bit more explanation on various things we were learning. The assignments were engaging, dare I say FUN and challenged you to truly apply what you were learning in the course. Once you finish the bootcamp, you then have a whole new support system in their Alumni team who help with resume building, application processes, and interview support - both technical and in general. I had learned some coding and SQL basics before I started the bootcamp experience. This full stack course took it to a whole another level. I was challenged and push which is what I like in order to learn and retain information. Not only were we held accountable, and it forced me to think outside that box which is rare for me as I find challenges fairly easy. I liked the course challenged me every day and I was able to solve and learn things I didn't think about. Other than the teaching aspect, I loved sources were provided. The program is rigorous and challenging, I came in with an experience prior and still found it to be overwhelming at times. But challenges are what we must endure to both values something and get us where we want to be. I recommend the program. Success depends on how hard you work. They lead you to move in the right direction, and you push yourself to learn.

Going into this program I had 0 experience with coding! none whatsoever!!! Brandon made learning all the information a lot of fun and understandable, and at the end I had learned things that I never in a million years thought I'd understand.  One critique I'd have with the self paced program is giving students the ability to get the pre-work done before the actual start of the course.  Outside of that... It was an absolutely amazing experience and I can't wait to see where my career goes from here! Read less

The program was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Coming from someone who already had some experience with programming, the amount of knowledge I gained from this experience is unmatched. I learned every skill I needed to take with me into the job search and landed a terrific role within 5 months of graduation. 

The instructors were extremely helpful anytime I did not understand something or needed more information. The tools that were given to me were everything I needed to succeed. Marlene does an amazing job providing assistance in the job search post graduation.

I had a great experience at Coding Temple!  My instructor was Nate Welter and he did an amazing job at adjusting the pace of the course so that everybody had a working understanding of the material.  There really was no question he couldn't answer on the spot, and if by chance something did come up, he was very resourceful and had an answer nearly immediately (which is probably the greatest asset there is for a programmer).  
Our TA was also very helpful and would stay late after class on an individual basis if anyone felt they were falling behind (spoiler- they wouldn't be falling behind for long).  
I can't personally attest to the abilities of the other instructors, but I know they're a tight knit group, and I've heard nothing but good things from students of their classes. Algo Night is offered every week to brush up on skills, and the support system for post-graduates is relentless, you will never feel left behind.
If you're looking for a bootcamp to get yourself a full-time engineering job or just want a better understanding of computer systems for your current placement, look no further. Read less

Most challenging and rewarding learning experience I have had post-college.  I am a month post graduation, and after doing the 10-week Full Stack program, I feel really prepared to enter the workforce in my new field.  Coding Temple overall has a tremendous support outside of the actual classes, but the poeple working for Coding Temple, have been genuine, warm, and very intelligent.  Derek, my instructor is one of the most brilliant people I have been around, he has extensive knowledge about all subjects covered, but he is able to show complex operations with the languages/frameworks and still explain it in a clear and concise fashion.  Lucas, my teacher's assistant had a infectious enthusiasm for coding that really impressed me, and his knowledge of coding and how to communicate it was also wonderful. I had an amazing experience with this bootcamp!! The staff is very interactive and always available when you need them. My instructor was wonderful, he was super knowledgeable and did a great job preparing me for a career in tech. I would recommend this bootcamp a thousand times over to anyone looking for a bootcamp. All reservations I had for participating in one disappeared within a week of starting my cohort. As a part time student with full time work responsibilities I was nervous about the work load and how much it would dominate life. It did not dominate whatsoever and the school is very willing to work with you and your schedule.  It is not just the instructors, the staff in general is amazing, from student relations, to career counseling, to the post-grad job-search assistance, I really cant recommend this school and its staff enough!!  Read less

Coding Temple is a GREAT bootcamp! They not only see you as a student but a person as well. They will work with you into to the hours of the night to help you learn new skills and processes, they make sure that you as an individual are picking up on the skills being layered in front of you, they will force you to think and problem solve, letting you make mistakes and learning from them, and most of all they care about you and your future endeavors.

My experience with coding temple.
I signed up through Career Karma, did the pre-work, and started class pretty soon after that. The classes where all online and in a class room with a Instructor teaching the days material (usually doing a code-along) then they would give us our home work, some of the work was pretty straight forward but some needed further explaining usually from a instructor or the instructor would guide you to more information via Google, W3 schools, StackOverflow, or GeeksForGeeks. They really lay down the frame work for you learn how to learn and teach your self about what you are learning.

Curriculum.
My only critique is the Curriculum. I wish the Part-time course was 14 or even 16 weeks long I fill the class could have used more time in a few of the subjects but other then that I think the Curriculum was very straight forward and was taught with precision  and accuracy. My instructor Kevin Beier was qualified and over all a great guy to work with the way he tackles the Curriculum is very thorough and was a ton of help.
