Sales Engineering Training is a rip off

I enrolled in the Sales Engineering Program for $3,250 in January 2023. The positives- the teachers are seasoned Sales Engineers and the other students are very nice. The cons- you will not have enough technical skills to get hired as an SE after completing their program. Please don't let social media stars tell you you will be able to; they were hired during the pandemic. The market is full of new SE's trying to find jobs. Back to Careerist-  It is more like an intro SE course, but they don't tell you that. Careerist acts like you will be able to get an SE job right away when you have your first appointment/phone call to pay for the course. The course slides are not anything you can't Google or find on YouTube. There is no homework. Everyone passes the end of class mock interview and 5-10 minute student demo presentation. They pretend like you won't pass but you will. The non-tech "mentors" do not provide any tech insight and give wrong advice by asking you to lie on your resume saying you have skills that you do not. My Careerist group had 70+ people and not one of us have gotten an SE job in 4 months. I reached out to previous  groups from the November and December cohorts and they haven't found SE jobs either. A handful of them have gotten jobs in Tech sales not SE. The price for the class is not worth it. They sell you a dream but you will NOT be able to get an SE job simply by taking the Careerist bootcamp even if you have a college degree. The contract they ask you to sign prevents you from suing them or filing a class action law-suit against them. Trust me we want to sue! They also use current Careerist students during the "internship" to sign up new students every cohort. They coach you on how to convince new students to sign up to pay. The internship did not teach us anything new that the classes did not. Dont go into debt to take this program. There are cheaper programs you can find and free resources on LinkedIn. Currently, Sales Engineers need hands-on experience of 3-5 years to get hired. This bootcamp will not be enough. I 100% wish I could get my money back.

    great courses

I recently completed the "Python QA Automation Engineer" course on Careerist, and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the course material and the instruction. The course is designed for anyone with a basic knowledge of Python who wants to learn how to apply it to QA automation. The course is also very hands-on, which I found to be very helpful. Throughout the course, there are numerous exercises and assignments that help you apply what you've learned. Additionally, the instructors are available to provide support and answer any questions you may have. One of the things I appreciated most about this course was the focus on industry-relevant tools and technologies. For example, the course covers the use of Selenium WebDriver, all of which are commonly used in QA automation.Overall, I highly recommend the "Python QA Automation Engineer" course on Careerist. It's a comprehensive and practical resource for anyone looking to build their QA automation skills using Python. The instructors are knowledgeable and engaging, and the course is well worth the investment.

    Pretty Good

I'll review this course in two parts:

    Part 1 - The Instructors/Mentors
The instructors are the best part of this course. Their backgrounds are different, and their ages vary, but the care they show is fantastic. They often stayed hours after the official class ended to answer questions; this is where most of the learning starts. Then there were the mentors, each of whom was fantastic. They helped with the tedious nature of building a resume & gave great feedback on how to improve. However, there is one caveat, be sure to ask what their ratio of students to instructors/mentors is. While the people are great, they can only do so much & if they have a 50:1 balance when you sign up, you won't get the care/time/attention you deserve.

    Part 2 - The Curriculum
The material could be more groundbreaking. However, there are few assignments & the workload is more than manageable if you have a full-time job or kids. That said, the information is a little more profound than a Google Search but is still helpful/necessary to speak the language of a Sales Engineer.

    Interesting, but can be better.

I felt like the lessons could have taught more. There was a solid amount of information, but manual QA has so many avenues that their current curriculum isn't enough. The instructors did a good job with their lesson plan. I feel like the mentors do the most. They're very helpful with the entire process.

    informative, relaxed, easy, fast

I'm very very happy with Careerist Bootcamp! My three friends who graduated from Careerist, all found jobs after they completed the program! As everyone recommended this bootcamp, I decided to give it a try even though I was not really interested in IT. In Careerist, everything is structured, comfortable, and easy to understand! In my case, I was studying while I was working, so combining a bootcamp with my job was extremely easy. The staff are friendly and provide excellent knowledge along with support, and after you finish the internship, you'll have your own mentor who will guide you throughout the whole process until you find a job. Whether you have any doubts or questions, Careerist's staff will handle everything in a professional manner. Lastly and most importantly: I got hired!

    Great experience

I started Careerist to have a refresher in Software Manual Testing, but my main goal was Automation testing.
So far, my experience has been good. The instructors are knowledgeable and they make incredible efforts of answering all students questions and some even code on the fly, while still covering the material.
I've already complete  a internship with them (on the Manual part of the course), and now I'm starting another one, on the automated side.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, as this one will be challenging!

    Nice and Flexible

I have been to other boot camps and they were either too fast pace or too slow. I appreciate the flexibility that was given to us as I didn't have to drop everything to attend the classes and I could go at my own pace.

The instructors are very nice and will answer your questions and they genuinely feel like they want to help you learn.

Awesome experience with Careerist. Before I found careerist it was difficult for me to juggle family life and a career in the healthcare field. Careerist was God sent. Thank you to the team, the program was detailed and will equip you with all the necessary skills to land your first tech job. But you need to be ready to be coachable and willing to dedicate some time to learn and put in the work for the skills you are equipped with on the Bootcamp.

    Very informative bootcamp!

I'm so happy to share that my experience with the Careerist Bootcamp was absolutely wonderful! Throughout the program, I gained an immense amount of valuable knowledge and skills that have undoubtedly helped me in my professional development. Excellent!!!

It Is because manual QA course was so exceptional that I decided to also sign up for automation QA course. Making a career switch can be so difficult but careerist is created in a way to benefit you as the job seeker in the best way possible and to make that switch possible and successful. The course is created to assist with all the most important information that can be used from day one on the job. There are endless sources of education and resources to assist anyone willing to learn. Instructors are extremely patient and helpful, always there to answer any questions that may come about. In addition to educational wealth of information, there is also assistance with navigating the job market with preparation for the interview, assistance with the resume to name a few. I highly recommend this course if you are absolutely serious about making a career change and would like the process to be efficient and successful. Thank you careerist so very much for everything!!

    Not what I expected.

If you are like me you saw a video from Cyrus Harbin that sparked your interest in Tech Sales. Day one the classes are open to the public we had around 300 people attend during my cohort. The instructor Nigel gave us all a pep talk about how this was going to change our lives etc. Nigel just recently moved on to start his own boot camp. Every class we watch a 1 hour PowerPoint where the instructor talks vaguely about the topic and then opens the door for questions. We only got HW 1 time. There is a final interview and Demo that you CAN NOT FAIL, no matter how terrible you do. You will be offered software that fills in applications for you but you still have to sit there and click the boxes so it's not very helpful. I would NOT recommend this program. Cyrus himself has been laid off from his job and has moved on to marketing. You will have around 70-100 people in your class. The chat is filled with jokes and newbies giving everyone a pep talk about how we are all going to be blessed and rich soon. I think a lot of the forex crowd has jumped into this career path. They are now giving people 60% off, even with that its not worth the money. This is a 100 udemy course AT BEST. oh yea and every Thursday your class is just a group meeting where you can ask questions.
