They were both easy to talk to, approachable and always made the class engaging. The class content was what I expected before coming in, I wish there was more time to touch on the topics more in depth. I attended BrainStation Data Science Bootcamp from July to September 2022, and for me personally it was grueling 12 weeks filled with tired eyes and sleepless nights, yet at the end of it all, I was satisfied & proud that I had learned new skills which would be help me transition my career into data science.

I personally tried learning these skills on my own however I can say with certainty I would not have covered so much in so little time. It’s the routine of those 12 weeks which help in learning. Though, many times I would feel that its too much and I’m not capable of doing it but strived through and completed it. The team at BrainStation is knowledge and they help you along each step. 

They also have a strong career support team which help you throughout the bootcamp and prepare you well to face the world post bootcamp.

If anyone is thinking about joining a bootcamp, they should definitely look into BrainStation.

BrainStation’s teaching staff was well rounded and knowledgeable about the academic and real-world applications of data science. 

The career support during the program was aimed at preparing folks that have little to no “on-the-job”. 

I was happy with the breadth of material we covered— I am also happy with the depth we had in python. As someone with very little experience coding before the program I can comfortably code in python and I feel familiar enough with SQL and R to get more practice on my own.  Read less

I am a graduate of the UX Design bootcamp at BrainStation. I chose BrainStation to help me in my career change because of its comprehensive curriculum. Throughout the program the educators and TAs made themselves available outside of lecture times to provide guidance on how to implement all the new skills being learnt into our projects. I finished the bootcamp with a live portfolio that will allow me to jump in to the job search process and, in the meantime, I feel equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to continue working on developing my portfolio in order to be a competitive candidate in the job search process.  Read less

I am at the 5th-week mark of the 12-week UX Design bootcamp and wow. I have learned so much already ( I don't have any background experience in UX. Coming from a psychology background). Now don't get me wrong, it is a bootcamp, and it's a lot of after-hours working on projects and research, but if you're looking to learn and be prepared for the real world in just under three months, then this bootcamp will do just that. The educators are amazing ( if you happen to be in Joel MacLeod's class, you just won the lottery). The educators teaching my cohort and TA are all very knowledgable and shine a lot of insight into what goes on in the world of UX. If you're considering this bootcamp, I highly recommend getting familiar with the softwares you'll be using (Figma unless it's something new by the time you read this) to give yourself a head start. The Digital Marketing boot camp was exactly that- a boot camp! You learn a lot of information in a short amount of time, which can feel overwhelming but is an excellent way to learn more skills than just marketing skills- time management, prioritizing, organizing, etc. My course got moved online shortly before it was supposed to begin in-person, and at first I thought I would hate it, but it was actually totally fine and they have the online teaching down to a science. I would totally recommend it if you're looking to get into digital marketing, many of my classmates got jobs quickly even without previous marketing experience! Everything you learn is actual skills you will use on the job, and they really help you create an awesome portfolio and help you find a job. I recommend!  Read less

Overall experience was amazing; curriculum, instructors, the whole team. I really appreciate instructors support and motivation through the bootcamp as I could feel challenging at times. It is incredible how much one can learn given a right curriculum and methodology. I truly appreciate how BrainStation worked on schedule, sequence of the topics, practice theory balance. Everything is highly professional. This experience helped take first steps towards data science field and land my first job shortly after the bootcamp.

Great bootcamp. So glad I joined and went with BrainStation. Curriculum was relevant, in my first role after graduating I’m basically using the same stack that we learned in the bootcamp. The main instructors were great and is what got me through although there were a number of new instructors that would teach on occasion and those were hit and miss. But that wasn’t too often. Had a wonderful experience participating in the online class for Digital Marketing with both my instructors as well as my classmates. The instructors all came from a professional background and are extremely knowledgeable and passionate in their fields. They are able to bring the best learning experience and ensure that students leave feeling confident and supported in the area. The class materials are well-thought out and the instructors were able to explain the concepts well. I'm glad I took this class with BrainStation. Brainstation's Data Analytics Course was excellent. I learned a ton. When I started, I was at a crossroads of determining if I wanted to continue with sales operations or switch to a career in data. This was a great opportunity to get a feel for the school and learn SQL, Tableau, and improve my excel skills. I ended up deciding to continue on to the Data Science Bootcamp. Read less

I've now done 2 courses via BrainStation. The Python course was good but I think you can learn the same material cheaper elsewhere. However, the Data Science course was definitely worth the money but you need the Python knowledge to complete it.

Both courses were taught by Luis Andrade (based in London) who has a lot of experience in the field as well as teaching the material. Luis was very friendly and I did not hesitate to ask questions when needed. The fact the course was instructor led meant that you could ask questions as you went along and had help finding solutions to difficult problems (compared to some other courses where you watch a video and learn at your own pace). I really enjoyed working on my final project which provided me the opportunity to put my newly gained skills to a real life problem. I would highly recommend this course. It is a tough course, so be prepared to put in the time especially to wrap your head around all the statistics theory. In terms of constructive feedback, I would say if there are any questions regardless of where they appear in the workbook, solutions should be provided to aid the students learning experience. I loved learning about Digital Marketing from BrainStation! I learned so much from this coursel This course is a 10 week course. Even though it was a rigorous 10 weeks I came out with a greater knowledge of the digital marketing realm. Learning about SEO's and KPI's words and terms you have never heard of until you take a simple course on Marketing. I knew almost nothing about data science prior to starting the bootcamp, and felt considerable anxiety about switching my career from business to data. However, Daniel and Zain, our amazing educators, did everything to make this intimidating experience an enjoyable one! It also helped that I took the bootcamp in person and was very fortunate to have some of the most friendly and talented classmates who I am in regular contact with after graduation. I was very lucky to have found my first data science job through BrainStation's Demo Day so the investment was well worth it for me. I'd recommend the data science bootcamp to anyone who has solid knowledge of math and stats, interest in solving business problems and is ready for a challenging but exciting 3 months. Read less

It's a 12 week course for web development. I had a past degree in comp sci from 8 years ago and did not put it to long term use, so I was very rusty. This course was extremely useful. It teaches HTML, CSS & SASS, Javascript with React, backend with NodeJS, learning about HTTPS and api calls, database management with mySQL, and numerous other things too. Be warned, it moves at a very fast pace! It's not a big deal for HTML and CSS, but it will be very very challenging once you get into Javascript and onwards for people with no programming experience. I encourage anyone with no experience to take some free online courses in programming before beginning. You can check out freecodecamp.org for that.

I had two main teachers and one teacher's assistant. The teachers were very knowledgeable and nice. I feel like they did their best considering how fast the pace is. Even teaching 9-5, it can be tough to cram all the necessary stuff in for learning. This bootcamp also has a really nice career assistance program that helps you out throughout 12 weeks to prepare your resume, linkedin profile, and even sets up some events for you to meet with industry people in the area.

My class only had 9 people starting, but I think there's typically more. Overall it is an extremely useful course for rapidly gaining skill and getting prepared for the job market. You work on individual projects for most of it, but then some group projects at the end. They also teach you about using git and Github for version control, and the group projects are great for getting the most experience with that. Again, I recommend that anyone with no programming experience should first do some online courses to learn some programming and get a bit of a foundation. Otherwise, this program was great. At the time of writing, I am in my last three weeks. But the career center is there to help you out long after the course finishes. Read less
