I started my UX Design course in September and it lasted for 10 weeks. I went in with no relative experience in user experience design so was eager to learn the fundamentals and get a thorough introduction into UX. The course was brilliant, the instructor, Carlos is a knowledgeable, approachable and enthusiastic instructor who really delivered a great course, ensuring everyone got the best help and learning experience they needed, regardless of their skill-level.

I think it had well condensed notes and excellent teachers who went beyond to create worksheets and exercises. The hands on is the best portion. However I do wish the class content which we pay for it accessible or at the very least downloadable (the Google slides).  Read less

The data analytics course provided me with a starting point to understand how I can research quantitatively any topic of interest without hesitation. 

The final project helped me understand what I can do better in the future to achieve the best techniques to tell a story regardless of my background. Read less

Wonderful staff and teachers, great offices, very clear and helpful courses and curriculum.The instructor was amazing - he was clearly experienced in both the subject matter and how to teach, and made every topic feel approachable. He intuitively seemed to understand what concepts the class needed more time on, and was able to be flexible, sometimes introducing concepts typically outside the scope of the course when we seemed ready to try a more advanced topic. Having support not just during class but also available online in between classes made it feel like we had way more class time than we actually did. Read less

The UX Design program covers a lot of material in just 3 months so it is very intense, but it will certainly prepare you for a successful career switch, transforming you from knowing nothing about UX/UI to feeling confident and ready to land a role in the industry after graduation. The educators were very knowledgeable and great at providing the necessary support and guidance. They were always available when needed and did a fantastic job at explaining the content, it was a pleasure to learn from them. 

The overall environment on campus was one of support and enthusiasm, everyone seemed agreeable and eager to help which made the learning experience all the better.
There were plenty of opportunities for collaboration with peers as well as across disciplines, so not only do we get to learn from the educators, but from each other as well. I also found the career workshops helpful, and I did learn a lot about what to expect when trying to find a job post bootcamp. I have just graduated so I have no insight to share regarding landing a role yet, but hopefully it won't be long before I find something.

Overall: Be prepared to put in the work if you want to make the most of this experience. It is not easy, but it will be worth it.

The course is intense and fast paced, with no days off for 3 months straight.
It's an incredible learning experience that can add to your skillset. Getting through it was the most rewarding feeling and it's a good place to practice time management and resilience.

I would have wished to see more inclusivity and support for neurodiversity. 
There is no time to catch up if you're struggling to keep up.
One thing I found totally heartbreaking was when they told me that "maybe this course isn't for you", instead of helping me, when I struggled to keep up due to my ADHD. 
It made me feel really bad about myself and like I didn't belong or deserve to be there for the remainder of the course because of something I was born with. It really sucked not even being given the chance to give it my all, especially when I know I have so much more to give. 
Although, I don't think that they meant for it to have such a negative effect on my whole experience, I really hope they find a way to make it more inclusive in the future so everyone feel welcome to study and develop new skills.

But otherwise it's a perfect course for the healthy, neurotypical person looking to change their career. 
Luckily my tutors were awesome and offered great advice, although sometimes pretty contradicting advice so the communication could probably be improved to reduce confusion.

One great thing is that I have access to the course material and will be able to improve my skills and the projects I've worked on in my own time.

Great Bootcamp / crash course into product management fundamentals. 
Very interesting course, and great to hear about experiences from a professional product manager.

2 of my favorite things about the course were hearing Jeremy's interesting opinions on different aspects of product management and the group work projects were very, very fun!!

Overall this bootcamp was a very good experience. I gained a lot of knowlegde that is useful for my future careers. Though the whole course was very rushed and the hours were long, the content was very valuable and it gave an opportunity for people who have full time jobs. More time to ask questions may be good. Cameras should not be mandatory as some people do not have access to cameras or they are not in the environment to have their camera on. Read less

I was searching for a Bootcamp and I did research on many of them out there which were online or in-person I was specifically looking for a curriculum that is updated and modern according to what the industry needs. When I went through the curriculum provided by Brainstation and I instantly knew this is the one that I want to join. Read less

I absolutely found this course amazing! I am a student that has no previous experience in tech, yet the course is super beginner friendly. I love how my instructors are all in top tech industries teaching us strategies they use in their day-to-day work. I was able to learn SQL and grasp Tableau in such a short period and I couldn't do it without the help of my instructors, Nathan and Wesley!!!    Read less

The course is well structured and taught by people working in the industry. Teachers have a teacher assistant who helps with the flow of the course. The class deals with both the theoretical and skills elements of UX and UI. I would highly recommend it for the price. Read less

I thought that the tutors were really supportive and proactive in helping us all learn with lectures, projects, design sprints all geared towards ensuring we have all the necessary tools for industry. It is a very fast paced course, but I would say it was great that this could all be condensed into 3 months. BrainStation is a great place for networking and building new relationships in tech. Just completed the 3-month full time UX Design Bootcamp at BrainStation and it was the best decision I could've made for my career and myself. 

Some positives: 
Content-wise, the course covered everything you'd need to know to become a UX/ UI Designer -- from UX fundamentals, to motion design to responsive design. I particularly liked that the course had a big focus on both UX and UI (I'm conscious that some other bootcamps do not offer as much focus on the UI side, which is so important especially if you do not have a background in design). 

In terms of teaching, Antonello and Taylor are both awesome and each bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and perspective. Our Teaching Assistant was also very helpful and was there for us to answer any 'silly' questions. 

One of the core highlights of this bootcamp was the ability to interact and work with students from the Web Development & Data Science courses. We did a 24-hour hackathon together and it was a great opportunity to learn about what they do and how to work together (e.g. how to approach design hand-offs to developers). This experience is definitely something that differentiates this bootcamp from others on the market. 

Some areas BrainStation can improve on: 
In the beginning, I found the teaching pace a bit fast and would've appreciated a bit more help from the educators and Teaching Assistant. (We were without a Teaching Assistant for the first month of the program which definitely impacted our experience as it was harder to seek help). 

Overall: 
The takeaway message is that this is definitely an intense bootcamp, and will require dedication and commitment to juggle multiple deadlines at once. That being said, it is extremely rewarding. You'll leave the bootcamp with a newfound appreciation of great design, close friendships and 3-4 projects to showcase on your portfolio :)

Amazing bootcamp that teaches a wide range of data science concepts while going into a good amount of depth. The teachers are enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable, and very supportive. I feel confident in the topics I have been taught and feel confident applying for a position in data science. Read less
