 I recently completed the Big Blue Academy Data Science Bootcamp, and it has profoundly changed the trajectory of my career. As a former physical therapist, my exposure to data science was limited to my understanding of statistical concepts and a few months of self-learning with Python. Having little to no experience working with code, I entered the bootcamp with a mixture of curiosity, excitement, and apprehension. I am thrilled to report that the bootcamp not only dispelled my initial doubts but also exceeded my expectations!

Despite my background being so distant from the field, I never once felt left behind. Throughout the bootcamp, the instructors always encouraged us to ask as many questions as possible and seek out their help at any time. They provided real-world application examples for most of the concepts we encountered, helping us conceptualize the practical application of the subject matter. Additionally, a collaborative spirit was always encouraged through team projects and exercises, inspiring us to contribute to each other's learning process with our own unique perspectives and maximize the advantages of the diversity within our team. This way, every participant played a supportive role in cultivating our data science skills and understanding.

Hands-on Experience
One of the most rewarding elements of the bootcamp was its emphasis on practical and hands-on application of every subject. The curriculum was structured in a way that allowed us to apply what we learned immediately. From day one, we were introduced to the basics of Python and provided with the environments in which we could experiment and practice what we learned. Each lesson allocated at least 50% of its duration to practical exercises, allowing us to engage with the problems, identify the challenges, and figure out how to solve them. Throughout this time, the instructors offered their guidance. Very soon, we were tackling real-world data science problems, working on projects, and effectively collaborating with our teammates. This approach not only accelerated my learning but also made the transition from theory to practice seamless. 

The Data Science Journey
What astounded me most about this bootcamp was how it enabled me to progress from a complete novice to a proficient data scientist in just six months. At the final step of my journey, my teammate and I took on a project that utilized a state-of-the-art machine learning neural network algorithm to forecast real-time energy generation and power load in Greece for the next 24 hours with competitive results. I was astonished by the fact that after only a few months, I was confident and skilled enough to undertake such a project, collaborate with an excellent teammate, and successfully complete it. It truly is a testament to the effectiveness of the bootcamp's teaching methodology and the dedication of its instructors.

Conclusion
 As I look back on this amazing journey, I can see the progress that I have made. Despite the difficulties and the highly advanced concepts in a field so foreign to mine, I was able to push through with the amazing support of my teammates and instructors. I highly recommend this bootcamp for everyone who, like me, comes from a different background but is fascinated with the prospects and applications of statistical thinking and data-informed decisions. If you're contemplating a career change into data science, rest assured that this bootcamp can help you achieve your goals, no matter where you're starting from.

Excellent course with great instructors having robust industry experience & knowledge. From day one, they pass on all the essential data science skills focusing on practical and hands-on training. In addition, the curriculum incorporates a career development course that prepares you for real-world challenges and life after Bootcamp. At the end of the course, we have the opportunity to collaborate on a final project with a company, use real-world datasets and understand the whole roadmap of how data science works in an industrial environment. 
Dimitris Mousadakos is very helpful, providing support 24/7(!!) to any kind of questions so you can get the best out of this experience.

As someone with no prior experience in data engineering, I found the course structure to be highly effective in building a solid foundation. The instructors were knowledgeable and supportive throughout the program, making complex topics more accessible.

Attending this comprehensive data analytics bootcamp is an invaluable opportunity for anyone aspiring to immerse themselves in the field of data analysis. This intensive program covers all the essential concepts, tools, and techniques necessary to excel in the ever-evolving world of data analytics.
One of the most significant advantage is its focus on practical, hands-on experience. We were working on real-world datasets and industry case studies and gain a deep understanding of how to collect, organize, clean, analyze, and interpret data effectively.

Coming from a financial backround and having no prior knowledge in coding and data science, I had the opportunity to learn and understand within 3 month the fundamentals of coding and data analytics. The overall program is well equipped with all the appropriate tools and bibliography so that you can use onwards on your own in order to do your own analysis, create your code and start experiment in the depth of data science. Personally I chose the specific programm to bridge finance with BI and I can say that I more than happy because now I have the appropriate data set of skills so I can transform financial data into meaningfull dashboards and visualizations for the C-level management and other key stakeholders in my organization. I highly recommend the program for beginners as well as for intermediate learners.

I'll write this under the lens of someone that had some basic programming experience and did a solid review of math (algebra, calculus etc) for 2 months before initiating the Data Science bootcamp.

For an optimum experience and to get the most out of it since it is fast paced, my advise is to 1) have dipped your foot in most of the concepts beforehand and 2) spend personal time reviewing the exercises and theory behind each lesson. 

I liked the cohesion of the lessons; theory was presented by the instructors along with code along and then relevant exercises students had to do to practice. Instructors and teaching assistants were available throughout the exercise time. Instructors were experienced individuals currently working as data scientists/engineers, which gave further weight to advise and guidance on best practices.

Following the advise above, you'll end the bootcamp with a solid foundational understanding and practical application of data science concepts and algorithms, programming languages such as python and SQL, and valuable experience from a hands on portfolio project with a company.

For someone that may have seen various tutorials online, and wants to take a step in the field and does not know how to do it, doing the bootcamp is a solid choice.
