I'm trying to change careers and tried to learn programming by myself but began to wonder what I knew verses what I didn't know. That's when I found Practicum. It's curriculum is great and seems to always be improving! I'm able to get help from the tutors, go to office hours if I'm struggling and the projects focus on real-world projects. The career team is also helping me advance my future career by giving me tips on my resume, portfolio and cover letters! Without Practicum, I would still be stuck trying to figure out what I needed to learn to break into the workforce of programming.Overall5.0Curriculum4.0Job support5.0Instructors4.0 -

I tried many programs (from youtube videos to other freely available bootcamps) to get minimum knowledge in web development. In all these programs, I felt that a methodical approach is missing. I know that I can easily create a website following some youtube tutorials. But such websites are not professionally implemented, and are very difficult to maintain. For instance while styling websites, we should follow a methodology like BEM to create well maintainable websites. Practicum has the state of the art methodologies to implement real websites for businesses. I tried Practicum's free code camp (the first module), and was impressed that they have an excellent program that could help me to create professional websites. After my free trial, I immediately switched to the paid program, and I am quite satisfied with my decision. If you are serious about developing professional websites, please do not waste your time in following youtube tutorials or some freely available bootcamps. Unless you do hands-on work and get the feedback on your work, you are not on the right path to success. Practicum's curriculum has the right balance of theory and practice. In each sprint you will be given some study material with exercises, and you will also work on a project, which will be professionally evaluated. The project work in each sprint will reinforce your learnings. Consider Practicum if you have these goals and traits: 1. You want to develop professional websites 2. The program does not have video lessons (or have very limited videos). You should be comfortable in studying the text material rendered via practicum website. 3. You are not discouraged by the feedback you get highlighting the mistakes in your logic/code in each sprint. 4. You seriously looking to start a career as a Software Engineer 5. You are ready to spend at least 10 hours a week on the programOverall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

The reason I decided to become a programmer started a few years ago, thing that became a little bit difficult since I had to move from my home country. I used to study using Udemy platform, and I can already tell the difference between the two courses, in practicum you have assistance 24/7 from tutors located all over the world and the country. The course has a wide curriculum for you to have in your personal portfolio but also varies the projects every certain amount of time. The career acceleration program seems something super useful, in which you have somebody help you land your first job in this awesome career.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

It exceeded all my expectations, although I am still studying and I still have 4 months of study. I had study experience: I graduated from college with a degree in programming (but this was not enough for the modern market, plus the college program was very weak), then I took 3-4 courses at udemy (it was a good experience, quite interesting pet projects, but still not enough to start working). My last step was to go to the practicum. I thought I already knew a lot, after all, college courses .... I knew no more than 40% of what they gave me on the course. This is an amazing course, constant technical support, support from mentors, sooooo much practice. Interesting projects that you are not ashamed to show to the employer later. I have never regretted taking this course.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support4.0Instructors5.0 -

Practicum Bootcamp was exactly that - you complete the lessons on your own time, but they have built-in live support and deadlines to keep you on track. The lessons included tasks where you practice and learn to apply the code to business scenarios, and you have to complete them correctly to proceed. If you get stuck, there is a Slack channel where you can ask for help from tutors and fellow students. The tutors were always responsive, and they also held regular office hours to provide real-time support. I thought the best part was that each sprint ended with a project where you get to practice applying the skills in real world scenarios. These projects are reviewed by coders, so you get individualized feedback and pass the project back and forth until it is approved. Each sprint built on the one before, so you continue to practice basic coding skills (ex. data preprocessing and exploratory data analysis), as they add on more advanced topics. Finally, the tutors hold regular live workshops to review the topics in the lessons. These are optional but they are a chance to get some extra support on projects and learn some additional resources around the topics covered in the lessons. The program is definitely a time commitment, and something you have to stay on top of in order to complete (you have to meet a number of hard deadlines to stay in the program), but I would recommend it, especially for professionals looking to add on coding skills while working.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job supportN/AInstructors5.0 -

I recently completed my master's degree at the Faculty of Economics. In the process of studying various subjects related to statistics, I had to deal with data analysis. Many of my classmates were already familiar with data analysis and had experience from undergraduate studies. I had to learn everything from scratch. This is how my interest in the Date of Analysis was born.
Why exactly Practicum Bootcamp?
One of my friends, having learned about my interests, advised me to the Practicum Bootcamp school, since he himself had recently completed his courses and was very satisfied with the training he had completed.
Practicum Bootcamp has a very convenient interactive interface, friendly and always ready to help tutors, interesting projects, and training can be done at any convenient time. I especially want to note the responsible tutors who are interested in success in passing a certain stage of the Bootcamp.
It is also important to note the Slack community here, where you can get assistance or also help other students when they are stuck and get advice from the tutors or managers of the program.
As you know, the IT sector is one of the fastest growing sectors of the global economy. And one cannot do without knowledge of data analysis in modern business. I have not yet completed the course, as I combine work with study, but I have already noticed progress in the date of analysis. Therefore, I advise Practicum Bootcamp to anyone who wants to improve their career advancement or upgrade their knowledge.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

In this course I have learned HTML and CSS, JavaScript, and I am currently learning React. The course also includes Backend programming, which I will get to soon.
I am extremely pleased to have chosen Practicum to learn web development. From day 1 the Practicum team has been very supportive, and their learning environment is excellent. The course is web based, and Practicum has a very well designed and implemented environment. After completing theory sessions in each section or sprint, you will use the Practicum IDE to complete exercises that are included with most theory lessons. After completing the section you will complete a project designed to put your new skills to use. It is extremely satisfying to see the web pages come to life!
One other exciting skill I have picked up is using GitHub. All of the Practicum projects are done using GitHub, and this is a very valuable skill for web developers/software engineers to learn.
The lessons and projects are extremely well done, and the people are even better. Practicum has global students, and they have a global team of community managers, code reviewers and tutors. The Practicum team really is top notch and they do show a lot of care about my progress, and there is always someone to help me when I need help.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

I tried using online sources but was quickly overwhelmed by the bulk of material and things I needed to know. More than anything, I was looking for a structured program. A kind of road map to becoming a data scientist. I decided to start the course on Practicum and I am glad I did.
The program is very structured and there is a definite road map that you can see. The lessons are quite understandable too.
Even with no prior experience in coding, I was able to understand different coding concepts and practice them on the website. And even times when I felt lost, all I had to do was ask questions and the tutors would give solutions to whatever problems I was facing. The support is really great.
Also, with this program, you don't have to go through long installations of different software just to get you up and running. All tasks can be coded and solved on the platform and so no need to worry about getting a new PC due to heavy software requirements.
I'm currently training and using machine learning models and algorithms on different real life projects. That's a huge step up from not knowing how to code when I first started.
In all, it's a great course, real value for your money.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

Here are some of my thoughts about the P-Y Software Engineering Bootcamp. I’ve been involved for about five months since the beginning of 2022. That’s almost half-way through the nine-month, part-time program. I find this bootcamp to be a very powerful learning platform. The course is a combination of online course material, interaction with an experienced tutor, online coding videos, projects with rigorous reviews and interaction with other students. All of this provides an opportunity to learn and prepare to enter the job market. The program is comprised of sprints with two- to three-week duration, with enough flexibility to allow self-pacing. Twenty hours per week is the minimum effort; more if you want to dive deeper.
Since my goal is to work remotely, the day-to-day experience of this bootcamp has been a good model for what lies ahead. Often, it’s too easy to keep my head down working. I’ve learned how important it is to recharge by stepping away. It’s true that short breaks bring solutions by letting your brain work in the background. Longer breaks help with maintaining balance. When entering a bootcamp, it’s important to keep this in mind!
Another aspect is the enormous body of knowledge. My guess is that I’ll have acquired ten-percent of the available knowledge when I’m done with the bootcamp. Together with an attitude of continuous learning, I believe that ten-percent will be the right amount to get started. With so much information, so many different programming languages, and so many different specialties, I think it’s important to think of the bootcamp as a launching pad.
You must be willing to search out information on your own. The course will take you only so far and then it’s expected that you will be creative and inquisitive to find answers on your own. Use internet search to find not only solutions for the project in front of you, but also to learn how to promote yourself in the job market, and to learn what your future path might be.
Finally, a hats-off to both our Community Manager who helps to keep everything afloat from making sure we know deadlines, online workshop schedules and upcoming seminars about networking and finding jobs, and our Tutor who goes out of his way to explain how your code may be great but what you did in twenty lines of code could be done in two.

I choose to attend a DS Bootcamp because I want to prepare myself well for a career in DS. The cohort and community manager, Ana, is always very responsive and supportive of any questions during the learning process. The instructors and tutors are very knowledgeable, and they actively answer any questions that I have within 24 hours and usually within only a few hours. The interaction on the Slack channels is very smooth, responsive, and engaging. If some tough questions are hard to explain by typing in Slack, tutors will happily hold 1-1 Zoom sessions with any questions. I found the personalized support very motivating and beneficial.
The DS Bootcamp has 17 modules/sprints on essential data science topics: basic python, data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis (EDA), statistical data analysis, integrated project 1, data collection and storage (SQL), introduction to machine learning, supervised learning, machine learning in business, integrated project 2, linear algebra, numerical methods, time series, machine learning for texts, computer vision, unsupervised learning, and the final project. Each module/sprint has chapters to study and interactive exercises and lessons. At the end of each module/sprint, an assigned sprint project requires applying the knowledge and skills in that module and some previous modules to solve problems. It is a cumulative learning process. Modules and projects in later modules require the skillful application of skills learned from previous modules. That also means that as one progresses, the project feels harder. So if you start off feeling, "Wow, these are too easy for me!" Then wait for a while, you will realize, "Wow, these are not that easy for me!" I like to be challenged and grow, so the progression of the complexity of the modules/sprints feels excellent!
It is a flexible learning process. There are deadlines for each module and project. A certain level or amount of extension is possible if one falls behind. If you want to finish faster, that is possible too. As long as you can complete the modules' lessons and projects and pass the project code reviews, you can continue and move forward. Speaking of project reviews, the reviewers are sharp at picking out mistakes. The perk is that they also offer more efficient code or approach to solve problems if my code is too bulky or output looks too "ugly." The community manager will coordinate the process and facilitate your needs, whether you are going fast or slow.
Now, 16 weeks into the program, I am at module 11. I spend a few hours learning and flexing my DS muscles each day. I am feeling stronger. This journey with many like-minded friends, peers, and data scientists is super enjoyable. I like the journey more and more. My heartfelt appreciation goes to everyone I come across on this journey. Thank you.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -
