Springboard's Software Engineering Career Track armed me with the skills I needed to confidently seek out jobs for my programming career.  The workload was more dense than I had expected, being a 700+ hour course, but I had kept at it.  There were others to assist me, such as my mentor and coaches, who helped me get through a good chunk of my roadblocks.  The workload can get rough, but it's great for those looking to change their career. The mixture of assignments, including hands-on exercises and projects, made the learning experience enjoyable. It served as an excellent introduction to design sprints and the design thinking process. Through this bootcamp, I gained valuable insights into my design preferences and long-term aspirations. The support I received from my experienced mentor was invaluable. Despite being a beginner, his patience and encouragement helped me tremendously. I went into the course without any prior programming experience, and without a degree. Thanks to the help of my mentor and the encouragement of other students, I learned a lot and managed to land an internship while only half-way through the course! I enrolled in Springboard's UI/UX Design Career Track after spending a year debating which Bootcamp to attend and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I ultimately decided to attend Springboard because of their mentorship program, which pairs students with a one on one mentor who has worked in-field for at least three years. The combination of mentor support and the asynchronous curriculum worked really well for me. It allowed me to complete the curriculum on my own schedule while still having the structure and support of a professional, and having the personal mentor relationship helped so much when it came to insight into MY personal learning process. 
I was really impressed by the career curriculum. I had been a little weary about the career focused aspect of a bootcamp, but the material and career coaching was very in-depth and genuinely reflected the tech industry. I highly recommend Springboard both for absolute beginners and folks who have a little bit more experience coming in.    Read less

I just completed my UI/UX Design Career Track cert. Set to complete in 9 months but I finished in 11 months. Taking on this course is a lot of work but it is worth it if you are seriously looking to make a meaningful career change. The curriculum is in-depth and aligns with what most designers talk about online. I can confidently say I understand the process of designing a solution and the research that goes into it. The mentorship is what really stands out about this boot camp as opposed to others. I also have a job guarantee that I hope will help put me in a wonderful role.  Read less

Overall, I had a good experience at Springboard. The curriculum is very straightforward in the way programming concepts are explained. This combined with Colt Steel's personality, charm, and sense of humor also make the videos worth watching (even the long ones). However, there are some areas in which they can improve. 

First of all, the videos are understandable, but not very beginner-friendly. I didn't have a hard time understanding them because I came into the course with programming experience already, but the videos are confusing if you don't already know what you're doing. As well, the videos do not adequately prepare you for the projects and tests. Sure, they help a lot, but it's frankly inadequate in terms of actual preparation as the projects/tests often prompt the students to create something almost totally unrelated to their supposedly corresponding units. 

Furthermore, students are supposedly allowed to seek help with problems related to the coursework through the help of Teachers Assistants (TAs). While many of them are very helpful and friendly, a lot of them are too vague and do not answer the question in the first place (especially when seeking help via email). 

Lastly, if you have a mental health condition such as depression or similar, this program is not for you. In my opinion/experience, Springboard does not offer adequate support, understanding, or accommodation for people who sometimes need to take a pause from the course due to a legitimate health issue. Their response is to seemingly try to rush students through the course instead of showing more of an empathetic approach to people who may need more time due to a medically valid reason. 

Overall, it's a good program for those who want to "Springboard" (see what I did there?) your way into a computer science career in an oversaturated as well as a ridiculously competitive industry despite its flaws.  Read less

Overall, the course was great and left me feeling prepared for a career in UX/UI design. What I really liked about the course was the mentorship, the student support, the internship project (IDP) and the career services. The course was expensive but the job guarantee has made me confident that it was well worth the price.  Read less

Springboard was an enjoyable experience for me. It had good/fun assignments. The curriculum needs to undergo some updating, but the mentors are great and keep you in the know. The career services is pretty nice too. Only negative for me really is that they need to do more in depth background checks on the companies they partner with for the Industry Design Project.  Read less

Overall, it was a good experience, especially, while having a full-time job.  The best resource Springboard provided was my mentor.  Mentors can explain concepts and processes more in-depth.  However, learning UI and Figma is almost nonexistent.  You will have to rely on Youtube for that and commit to doing your own research outside of the curriculum.   Read less

As someone going through a career transition, I was very satisfied with my experience in this program because of its well-designed curriculum and weekly mentor meetings. What distinguished this program from other bootcamps I researched was the month-long internship at the end of the course, where you complete a project for a client in a real-world setting. On top of the one-on-one mentorship for completing assignments and projects, you are also given a ton of support from career coaches that help you practice everything from resume writing to job interviews. The career coaching even remains available to you for six months after you complete the course! I decided to join Springboard in order to facilitate my career transition into cyber security. I came in without much technical knowledge and left with the foundational knowledge, skills and confidence needed to grow and thrive in the field of cyber security. Springboard strategically put together a diverse curriculum that exposes students to the many different facets of cyber security. 

The curriculum contains videos, labs and projects and students are paired with a mentor which they meet with once per week. The mentors, career coaches , administrative and support staff are all amazing and pleasant to deal with. Students meet with career coaches periodically throughout the program and also have access to them for 6 months after graduation. All the career coaches I have met with were amazing. 

The job guarantee support is good from what I hear, however I did not sign up for the guarantee option so I can only speak so much on it. I will say, that as a non job guarantee student , the job support and career resources have been fantastic. Keep in mind that the employment prospects will vary for students depending on many factors such as previous experience, state of the job market and background, so every students experience will be different here. I just recently graduated and am currently looking for work. This program is entirely online, offering students flexibility if they have other obligations in their personal and professional lives. If you are looking for an in person experience, you may have to consider something else. 

What you get out of this program is what you put in so try to get the most out of all the resources and the community Springboard makes available to its students. Some things that helped me were taking good notes and asking the mentors and career coaches lots of questions. Springboard also hosts weekly office hours giving you another opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Before you sign up for a bootcamp, I always recommend doing thorough research into the field you are interested in. Bootcamps can be challenging , so if you aren't sure about the field , you may find it hard to keep your motivation up. I literally got a Data Analytics job halfway through the course because of the fantastic career coaching. The course material can be challenging but you have a ton of resources to succeed (you get your own personal mentor, career coach, Slack channel with teachers/students/etc.). The material touches almost everything you would need to start your career as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Operations Analyst, Operations Analyst, etc. Overall I had an amazing experience! Read less

All in all, I feel like I gained a good foundation in Data Analytics by the end of the program. It was very nice to have a professional mentor to meet with every week. It was good accountability to stay on track, and it also helped me to comprehend how the material I'm learning is applicable in the workforce. I wish I would have acquired a stronger foundation in the technical skills, namely SQL and Python, however, those skills are not focal points in this program. You get out what you put in, so my advice would be to come up with questions and content to discuss during the mentor calls so that time is not wasted.  Read less

Great experience! Got to get exposure to information that is new. Obtain information and apply the skills to design projects. There are 3 major projects within the UX Career Track. Well organized. Overall experience was okay, but I would recommend paying monthly and then finishing up early to save costs. Curriculum was mostly videos and articles (like on medium) that you could have self-studied. However, I did appreciate the three projects and the Industry Design Project. If I had one gripe is that because the market is so oversaturated almost every other portfolio has a "Citypups" design sprint. I would have rather done another capstone that would then be unique to me. Mentorship is great if you have a good mentor! I did, but if you join the program and you get a mentor that is just like "Mmmhmm yep looks good" then you aren't getting the best experience and you should try and change that. Overall, while I didn't have a job by the end of the program I don't regret doing it.  Read less

I had compared a lot of boot camps before choosing Springboard to get a deeper understanding of how to program. I landed on Springboard due to their transparency of the program and graduate results. I also was really attracted to the program because it assigned you a mentor you had a one-on-one meeting per week to help you understand hard concepts. It also allowed an experienced person to help you through roadblocks as you progressed in the course, and assess your code as you did the school projects. I also liked that the program had a lot more projects to do in the course than other boot camps helping to build muscle memory to solidify the concepts we learn. It was also nice that our two capstone projects were completely what we wanted to build on our own, giving us all a unique profile for employers and the ability to build something we were passionate about.
