Springboard

I was switching from Graphic Design and Teaching to UX/UI and while I didn’t need another degree, I did need to learn UX/UI from industry professionals and get some portfolio work. I chose Springboard because it had a thorough curriculum, opportunities for networking and real-world projects. They also partner you with a mentor (which you can change if there’s not good chemistry there) you meet weekly during the course. There’s also chances to do ‘on-demand’ calls with career coaches and other mentors. Their curriculum had a lot of good material overall to help you prepare without the fluff you might find in a traditional degree. If you have a design background, it helps a lot. If you don’t, really make sure you have the time in the beginning to learn. They do provide small exercises with most units to help you apply what you learn, but finding opportunities outside of it to practice will help too. Be on top of your own learning—you’ll see why in the cons list:

Some PROS:

some CONS: 
- Backend issues with their site at times. More than once my dashboard info (completion date or progress tracking) was not accurate and I had to reach out to fix it. Be on top of knowing what breaks or free extensions you take as well. I started screenshotting everything so if they messed up, I could refer back to those. 
- Billing. Had a few times where I was charged twice in one month. Always check to make sure there is no double charging. They got it taken care of right away, but after the second time, I wasn’t leaving anything to chance. 
- Not all mentors are the same; my first one was not very engaging in giving feedback so I ended up switching. If you are not clicking with your mentor, don’t be afraid to switch. After all, you’re paying for it and devoting time each week to get valuable feedback and mentorship.  Read less

I really liked studying at Springboard at UX/UI track. The program was very rich and professional, with lots of extra materials to dive into. Springboard's Software Engineering Career Track was fantastic. The classes were very high quality, Colt is a wonderful teacher, and my mentor, career coach, and TA's make you feel supported every step of the way. I recently completed the UI/UX Design Career Track at Springboard, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. The curriculum was comprehensive, covering essential topics and providing opportunities to dive deeper into specific interests. Seriously, I have a whole library of books I’ve ordered that I can’t wait to read thanks to recommendations in the curriculum!
Springboard’s mentorship program was really what stood out to me when I was looking into bootcamps, and it didn’t let me down. My mentors, Aida and Tatiana, were incredibly supportive and provided me with practical advice that helped me refine my skills and approach to design. Their friendly and empathetic approach made our interactions both enjoyable and productive, and I’m immensely grateful for their guidance.
Springboard’s support staff also played a crucial role in my success. They were exceptionally understanding and accommodating, especially when my twins were born prematurely during my course and had to remain in the NICU for some time. Springboard offered me multiple course extensions, allowing me to focus on my family without worrying about the additional costs of completing my certification. Their empathy and flexibility were invaluable, making a significant impact on my ability to succeed in the program.
As a result of the program and the Industry Design Project, I feel confident that I was able to build a robust portfolio and am hopeful it will help me find my dream job as a product designer. From the very beginning, the enrollment process was smooth and straightforward. The user-friendly platform made it easy to navigate through courses, assignments, and additional resources. The course material was well-organized and up-to-date, reflecting the latest trends and knowledge in the field. One of the highlights of my experience was the instructors. Pros: 
Great mentors and career advisors. Good support on slack. Other students were great to work with. Good scholarships and price guarantee.

Cons: 
Classes are taught with articles and videos from various sites so it can feel disjointed. Thought there would be video courses with a consistent teacher. Email correspondence can be slow. Student advisor was changed twice without letting me know. Sometimes got conflicting recommendations between mentors and graders. Curriculum feels outdated without any mention of AI or the current job market.

If you are considering taking the Springboard UX Design Track boot camp, you will not be disappointed. I did a lot of research on boot camps through articles and reviews, and I talked to alums and current students before I decided to go with Springboard. The main thing that I wanted to get from the boot camp was a portfolio that I could apply to jobs with. The other incentive that stood out was the Industry design project, where they paired you with a real-world company to work on a project for four weeks. This is the real-world experience that companies look for when hiring. 

The course was very intense for me because I had to juggle a full-time job, family, and a volunteer role during the curriculum. Thankfully, Springboard has tools to keep you on track in order to graduate. The hardest part for me was learning the research methods, which included a lot of reading and writing. The design part for me was not that difficult because of my background in graphic design. The only con is that some of the units had information and videos that were four years old or older. Although the basic UX principles are still applied, it would be great to have more up-to-date information. One of the pros is that you have a mentor you meet with weekly to ask questions and review assignments. Also, the UX Design track was affordable compared to other boot camps. 

In conclusion, the Springboard UX Design Track boot camp is challenging and requires a time commitment. It's best suited for individuals who are truly dedicated to becoming UX Designers, enjoy tackling challenges, and thrive in problem-solving environments.  Read less

I recently completed the Springboard Data Science Career Track, and overall, I am very satisfied with the experience. The curriculum is comprehensive and well-structured, covering essential topics such as Python, statistics, machine learning, and data visualization. The inclusion of real-world projects was particularly beneficial, as it allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, which is crucial for building a strong portfolio.

The one-on-one mentorship is a highlight of the Springboard experience. My mentor was not only experienced but supportive. Regular weekly check-ins provided personalized guidance, constructive feedback, and accountability.

Springboard’s career coaching is another standout feature. The career services team provides extensive support, including resume reviews, LinkedIn optimization, and personalized job search strategies. The one-on-one career coaching sessions were particularly helpful, offering tailored advice on how to navigate the job market and prepare for interviews. 

The community aspect is strong, with active Slack channels. Whenever I encountered issues, the support team was responsive and helpful. However, sometimes the response times were longer than expected, which could be frustrating when working on time-sensitive projects. The program’s flexible schedule is a major plus for those who are working or have other commitments. Being able to learn at my own pace was crucial for me. However, this self-paced nature requires a high degree of self-discipline to stay on track.

Springboard is an investment, but considering the quality of education, mentorship, and career support, I found it to be worth the price. There are also financing options available, which can make the cost more manageable. Overall, Springboard’s Data Science Career Track provides a well-rounded education with solid support systems in place. The hands-on projects, personalized mentorship, and dedicated career coaching make it a great choice for those serious about pivoting into a data science career. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in response times and mentorship consistency, the strengths of the program far outweigh the negatives. I recently completed the UI/UX design bootcamp with Springboard, and overall, it was a rewarding experience. Despite my background in design, I found the curriculum well-curated for both beginners and experienced individuals. The curriculum was comprehensive, covering everything from the fundamentals of design principles to the latest industry tools and trends. The online platform was user-friendly and well-organized, making it easy to access course materials and communicate with instructors and peers.

The hands-on projects were particularly enlightening, allowing me to apply new skills effectively. I especially enjoyed the Industrial Design Project with Springboard peer members; it boosted my confidence and helped me discover areas for improvement. 

However, There were a few areas where I felt the program could improve. The pacing of some lessons felt rushed, taking more time than expected for me to fully grasp the concepts.

Overall, I highly recommend Springboard's UI/UX design bootcamp for anyone looking to break into the field or advance their skills. With a solid curriculum, hands-on projects, and supportive mentors, it provides a strong foundation for a career in UI/UX design. Read less

I recently completed the Springboard Cyber Security Career Track bootcamp, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. The curriculum was incredibly thorough, covering all the essential aspects of cybersecurity, and the hands-on exercises were invaluable in helping me truly understand the material.  One of the standout features of the bootcamp is the support system. Whenever I faced challenges, the Slack channels were a lifesaver. Students and Peer Mentors were always ready to help with any questions or issues. Additionally, having an assigned mentor for regular meetings provided personalized guidance and support throughout the program.  The structure and pacing of the program were also well-designed. It's self-paced, allowing flexibility, but you need to complete it within six months unless you opt to pay for additional months. This setup kept me motivated and on track without feeling overwhelmed.  Coming into the bootcamp with no prior cybersecurity background, I was amazed at how much I learned and how my skills improved. The Capstone Project, where we conducted a simulated penetration test of a fictional company, was a highlight. It provided a comprehensive learning experience, from executing the pen test to writing an executive summary as well as a detailed technical report.  I would highly recommend the Springboard Cyber Security bootcamp to anyone looking to switch gears and enter the cybersecurity field. Whether you need to brush up on your skills or start from scratch, and especially if you don't have time for a four-year bachelor's degree, this bootcamp is the next best thing.  Ken Bliss  Read less

The course structure is great and there is a lot of resources to get you help when you need it like the mentor that is assigned to you and the student slack community. There is a steady increase as you go through the course with regular assignments and assessments which is nice because it does point out how much you have actually learned and what you need to improve on. My only complaint is with the On-Demand mentors, I had more than once where they either didn’t show up or showed up really late. Read less

I was looking for more UX courses after graduating from undergrad as I realized my current knowledge of the UX industry was lacking. I came across Springboard and was sold by the one-on-one mentorship and the portfolio building projects. The program did not disappoint as the program provides in-depth lessons on key UX topics and I was able to get client experience to boost my portfolio through the IDP Project at the end of the course. I had minimum analytical experience before starting this course, other than a Finance degree, knowledge of statistics, and above average Excel skills. I began this course to prepare me for a career in Data Analytics and I can confidently say that after seven months I feel very prepared to succeed in this field. I learn by doing, and that is how the majority of the Springboard curriculum is set up. When learning new skills, they provide guided real world practice, simulations, and guidance to complete projects on your own. The mentor aspect was huge for me - having someone help you along the way on a bi-weekly basis who knows you personally and wants to see you succeed. I enjoyed the career readiness aspect but I feel some of the Technical Interview aspects could have been implemented sooner in the program. All in all, I am very satisfied to have completed this course and am excited to put all the skills Springboard has taught me to use in the real world.  Read less

Having recently completed Springboard's UI/UX Design program, I can confidently say it was an enriching experience overall. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the people I had the opportunity to connect with, especially my mentor, who demonstrated genuine care and expertise throughout the journey. Their guidance was invaluable, and I feel fortunate to have been matched with such a supportive individual.


The curriculum provided a solid foundation in UI/UX design principles, equipping me with the necessary skills to tackle real-world challenges. However, one area for improvement could be the currency of the content. While the program covered essential concepts, incorporating more up-to-date technological advancements would have enhanced its relevance in today's rapidly evolving landscape.


Despite this, I emerged from the program with a deeper understanding of UI/UX design and a newfound confidence in my abilities. I would highly recommend Springboard's UI/UX Design program to anyone looking to embark on a career in this field. Read less

I just completed Springboard's Cyber Security Career Track program and am very happy with the results. The program offers one-on-one bi-weekly and on-demand mentorship with industry professionals, monthly and on-demand career coaching, as well as comprehensive training in the basics of Cyber Security. The coursework prepared me well for the CompTIA Security+ exam, which I was able to pass on my first try without ANY professional IT experience! Springboard is a largely self-paced bootcamp, though there are still milestones that need to be met by the student. I would say for me the biggest pro of Springboard is that they offer their students more career support than any other program out there, which is massive! The con of Springboard is that there are no live lectures, so if that's the environment in which you learn, then the nature of this program can be difficult for you.  Read less
