SheCodes Basics
Through SheCodes Basics I made my first experiences in coding. It was a lot of fun, the tutorial videos explained everything very simply and since you could apply it directly, you also got the practice. I definitely recommend it and look forward to the next course. -

“I think the basic course was a great high level overview of the coding essentials. I was able to create a simple site that could interact with a hypothetical external user. 10 years ago I wouldn't imagine myself creating a site from scratch, but the sessions were broken down well and gave you the time to absorb. I'm excited to start SheCodesPlus!” -

For a beginner like me the course was a nice start. All was well explained and good prepared with step by step lessons and exercises to practice. As a total beginner in programming it took me a lot more than 5 hours a week to complete the challenges and homeworks. -

“I was skeptical with how quickly or proficiently I could learn HTML, CSS, and JS in just 3 short weeks....I am pleasantly happy to share that it is possible! I take each lesson day by day and personally decide where I need to spend more time learning. I love this flexibility. If you need more time, they are accommodating but still have high expectations for completion. The final project was so much fun and I enjoyed my time creating my own site about cavapoos! I highly recommend. I will be moving on to the next part of the course and I am excited to continue this journey.” -

I really enjoyed the three weeks course and found it a great introduction to the world of coding, which seemed so alien to me before starting. I really like the format of the course, with instruction videos and challenges so that you get to practice the new skill you just learnt. I also appreciated how I could go at my own pace but still had the incentive of a deadline for the homework each week. Having the slack community was also great. Knowing that you are learning together with others can be very motivating. -

I didn't think I would be able to complete the course, or at least not very well, but the way it is instructed by Matt, and the allowance to take it all in you own time, in small or large chunks is very helpful! The videos make it easy to go back to something you learned before if you get stuck, and the online support system on Slack is amazing. I feel much more confident and better equipped now that I have completed the course! I plan to take more courses with SheCodes now and gain a better future! Thank you so much <3 -

This was an excellent workshop. I found the teaching and resources to be of fantastic quality. The instructions were clear to follow, it was all broken down into bite-sized chunks that were easy to understand and then practise. It builds up your knowledge gradually and your confidence grows with each step. Honestly, one of the best courses I've done (and I've done a few!) Cannot wait to do the next course. -

Initially I was quite sceptical about this but I gave it a shot as I had nothing to loose and no I strongly recommend this workshop to all the ladies that were afraid that they are "too stupid" to code. NO girl, YOU CAN DO THIS! You set up your own pace and Matt explains everything down to the dot. The weekly assignments are simple but yet challenging. I came to this thinking that I can't code because it's too technical, too this, too that. Before I even finish my first week I had bought the React pack! My final project was an ode to unicorns and fully dedicated to my niece, so you learn to code AND get to be the best & favourite aunt 😉 -

I joined SheCodes to have a first experience in coding as recommended by some friends. Matt is an excellent professor and it's amazing to have such a strong support from the SheCodes team whenever I got stuck in coding. I also loved the other SheCodes tools such as the Radio, the Color Wheel, the Gradient Wheel, among many others. What started as curiosity has totally become a real interest in coding and I'll certainly be joining other SheCodes Workshops to improve my coding skills 👩💻 -

I started SheCodes Basic because I wanted to get a better understanding of coding. SheCodes made it so easy to understand and a fun process! Matt is a great instructor, who explains everything very clearly. The assignments were great to implement everything yourself. I have no coding experience whatsoever. But after taking the SheCodes Basics workshop I feel that I can create a basic website. SheCodes is really exciting and I cannot wait to take the advanced courses. I am looking to pursue a career change and I think SheCodes will help me do just that! A couple of months ago I started looking into different coding workshops. None of them really speak to me. In most cases it felt like I needed more coding knowledge than I originally had. But then I came across SheCodes and the way your company introduced yourself felt so accessible and welcoming. This course was incredibly easy to follow and I am impressed with what I am able to do and understand in just a couple of weeks. Coding is quite enjoyable and although it can get a little frustrating when you're stuck, I still find it to be relaxing. It's like a fun puzzle & patience is the key! After participating in the 1-hour introduction session by Matt I was convinced that SheCodes is exactly the type of coding course that I identify with - and I was not disappointed. I really like the concept of learning in small chunks combining videos & exercises. It's pretty cool that all videos are recorded by Matt himself and appear very pure - small stuff such as slips are not edited / cut out, the coding itself is shown in its whole (uncut) so the viewer can fully witness and thus better understand every move. It gives it a personal touch, like learning from a friend.😊 It feels to me that doing the workshops is more than "just" learning how to code. It gives me confidence that I am not bound to what I've studied.💪 It provides me with tools and triggers creative sparks that are useful in many situations. And last but not least - super nice branding! It's a beautifully crafted brand and design. I am enthusiastic and excited whenever I talk to my friends about SheCodes. Looking forward to continuing my coding journey all the way to Pro! -
