My experience with the IOD Cybersecurity Boot Camp was overall very pleasant. I came from a completely different field and felt that this course allowed for me to get a good idea of what to expect within the cybersecurity field. The instructors were very helpful and passionate about what was being taught, and made sure to that each student had the opportunity to work with someone if they had any trouble comprehending any of the curriculum. Each student was provided with the chance to gain practical skills and prepare themselves for the cybersecurity industry through an interactive and hands-on approach. I would definitely recommend this course for anyone hoping to improve their cybersecurity knowledge in a supportive and helpful environment. Read less

I recently completed the Part-Time Data Science And AI Course. The course was intensive, informative and the resources provided were great.
The Course was well structured and the learning objectives were clear from the start. the curriculum gave me a solid base to build on but it is by no way a deep dive into data science or AI. It does provide the tools and knowledge to build on and enables you to apply your newly acquired skills on real life projects. The teaching staff were very helpful and supportive and they are very knowledgeable both from a theory and practice perspectives.

The pace is quite fast which is usually expected from a bootcamp. Read less

I started off only know Excel. I signed up for the night course, while it was long, it was never too hard and never boring. Many of the lessons I was able to apply to my job at the time. Once I graduated, another company picked me up quick, surprised that I knew what I knew.

My instructor and the assistants were simply the best, and I consistently mentioned how wonderful I thought they were.

The labs were a little confusing in verbiage, but the assistants helped me understand what they meant.

Job services helped make an amazing resume, but I didn't really have to get help after that.

IoD was the start of my career as an Operations Data Analyst, and I will always be thankful. Now, I hope I get to become an part assistant instructor, so I can help others like they helped me! Read less

I studied a Certificate in Software Engineering through Institute of Data which was a great experience as it provided exposure to programs and methods that are used by Software Engineers in the industry. There follow along way of teaching along with individual tasks and bigger projects allow the learners to ensure they are up to scratch with what is being taught and are not lagging behind. The projects i found were the biggest benefit to my learning as it gave us a great opportunity to blend in all the skills or our favourite coding techniques into a project we had an interest is and really gave us a real life use of certain coding methods and functions.

The only downside i would say is that on the final Capstone project you are not given a certain mark to see how well you met the requirements, rather only given a pass or a fail grading even though the marking sheet has scores that can be allocated. This would of provided a great indicator for the students on what their strengths and weaknesses are.

I want to say first and foremost that I enjoyed my time attending this bootcamp. At first I was having a shakey start with getting settled with different time zones for class and having my supplies in order. Otherwise once that all got settled, the fun began. My strength is mostly hands-on task, so when I attended this program my instructor, Mr. John Farrell, and the rest of the guys made a big emphasis on that part. Each class period was very engaging and informative while mixed in with laughters here and there. Furthermore, the instructors were always pointing us in a direction of what is expected when entering this field and it was as realistically based while still giving a hopeful outlook. Before starting the course i was a little apprehensive due to the lack of I.T knowledge i possessed. However i was pleasantly surprised in how versatile and understanding the IOD staff were. Mohammed and Co are very passionate about what they do and it really made a difference in how they teach and explain concepts. The course itself is a bit challenging for someone with little I.T experience but please take it from me, aslong as you put the time and effort in you will succeed. i recently graduated from the IODs software engineering bootcamp course. I really liked the work from home structure and how intense the workload was keeping me and my classmates interacted at all times, leaving little to no time to even have the option of slacking off. the course instructors were amazing, jo's delivery of the content was perfect and there was nothing i wouldve changed if i could. both our class helpers to were amazing at helping us solve the issues we ran into without overwhelming us. overall it was a great experience and everyone made my whole class feel extremely comfortable. My Software Engineering (Full Time) program at the Institute of Data was a genuinely intensive, fast-paced course designed to compress a large amount of practical learning into a short period. Delivered over 12 weeks full-time, the program was structured to simulate a real working environment, with daily hands-on coding, group collaboration, and project-based learning that mirrors industry expectations. From the outset, the emphasis was on building real, usable skills rather than theoretical knowledge, which makes it particularly effective for career changers, professionals or business owners looking to rapidly upskill.

One of the strongest aspects of the course is modern breadth. The curriculum spans modern industry-stndard front-end and back-end development, covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, APIs, databases such as MongoDB and MySQL, and deployment tools like Docker and AWS . This full-stack exposure is valuable because it provides a holistic understanding of how modern applications are built and deployed. 

However, the trade-off is that the pace was overwhelming, especially for beginners like we without zero prior coding experience. The recommended pre-work (30–40 hours) is essential and should not be underestimated.

The teaching model stands out for its practical orientation. Instructors are industry professionals, and the learning environment is workshop-style, with a strong focus on solving real-world problems. This approach helps develop not only technical skills but also collaboration, debugging, and problem-solving abilities, which are critical in real software engineering roles. The inclusion of multiple mini-projects and a capstone project reinforces learning through application rather than passive consumption.

Another key component is the Job Outcomes Program, which provides career coaching, resume support, and access to job opportunities. The program reports strong placement outcomes, with a high percentage of graduates achieving job success within 3 to 6 months . While these figures are encouraging, outcomes ultimately depend on individual effort, prior experience, and how effectively students leverage the support provided.

On the downside, I stress the course can feel compressed given the sheer volume of material. You need to do your homework very night. Falling a day or two behind can be fatal.

Also, some topics are covered only at a high level, meaning students often need to do significant self-study to deepen their understanding. Additionally, while the course provides a strong foundation, it is not a substitute for long-term experience; graduates should expect to continue learning extensively after completion.

Overall, the Institute of Data Software Engineering (Full Time) program is best suited for highly motivated individuals who are comfortable with an intense workload and are serious about transitioning into tech quickly. It delivers strong practical exposure, industry-relevant skills and valuable career support. However, success depends heavily on the effort you put in. Read less

I found the Data Science and AI course to be rich in content, skillfully presented and well structured. The enrollment commitment is well stated to manage expectations: if you are a beginner then you have to allocate the time per week to be successful. I have a background in Accounting so I enjoyed studying this new field at a smaller school, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving everyone more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the professors. Read less

I recently completed the IOD data science & AI boot camp and found it to be a really positive experience. Great environment to get a working knowledge of a rapidly growing and exciting field. I had a very good experience at Institute of Data learning the Data Science and AI course. The trainers are very good at explaining difficult concepts and are very approachable when I got confused regarding certain difficult topics. I learnt a lot from the course content within 3 months, and I came out of it with a project to showcase to future employees. Some of the Data Science exercises had oddly worded questions that I couldn't understand but luckily my trainers could explain it well. The job outcomes programme people are very helpful, you could do CV and cover letter review, and practice interview questions which I very much needed. I did wish we could dive deeper into the data analytics section (eg. using Power BI or Tableau) and the deep learning section of the course but understandably we couldn't because of the 3 month short course.
