Great Learning

Being at the ML AI MIT training course with Great-Learning has been one of the most enriching and challenging learning endeavors that I have come to experience.  From day -1 (Pre-Training) to the very last day I was inspired to learn more and more, to achieve more and more, to think more and more and to answer questions that I did not know existed before.  I have 20+ years of professional experience and I thought I have seen most of what it was, wrong that I was, I fount Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence horizons beyond the limits I would have initially imagined.   

The faculty, the program management office and specifically my assigned program manager were best in class always there to help, guide and challenge me to learn more and open my mind horizons to the next level.  I am most grateful for the experience. Read less

Great Learning and MIT IDSS have collaborated to produce an excellent program. 

The Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions program is the result of a collaboration between Great Learning and the MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. The program is exceptional. It is well organized and managed. Each cohort has a PM (Vineet Mishra for our group) who is there to help, whatever the question or issue. This is one part of a support system that is there to make sure the learners have the best chance for success. The program mentors (Nirupam Sharma for us)  provided detailed sessions explaining the background, theory and hands-on applications of various topics. Leading to the mentoring sessions the learners can review video lectures from the world class faculty at MIT and work through hands-on assignments.  The topics are wide-ranging and treated with a good balance of conceptual background, theory and applications. And, there were guest lectures, curated lists articles of interest in the industry, and more. 

I personally had a great experience. The program provided me with important and substantive content in areas that were familiar to me as well as several all together new concepts and topics. My hope is that this certification will tip the balance in favor of some hiring manager giving me a chance for that dream job and a meaningful career in data sciences and machine learning.

I recently completed 12 weeks Advanced Data Science Program with MIT and Great Learning batch September 2022. Initially when I applied for this course I was not sure how I will find time to study and at the same time to manage my full time work and family. I must say this course is designed and delivered exceptionally good. It is very interactive program, faculty and staff members are super helpful. Specially my program manager Shruti Gupta provided me the needed guidance. Those who are interested in this course should prepare themselves to study at least 8 hours a week in order to successfully complete this course. Read less

This bootcamp was a great experience. I like to tell people that if I had to do it again, I would. I joined the bootcamp without any prior data scientists experience, other than my bachelors degree in applied mathematics. The program allowed me to refresh my math skills, and learn Python. To be more specific, the following topics were covered: Foundation for Data Science, Data analysis and visualization, practical data science, deep learning, recommendation systems and Machine learning. To start I was unsure I would be able to balance work and the work load of this program. After diving in and giving 110% I found myself giving my final presentation- it was a great challenge to take on! This is a great program if you want to learn applied data science in depth. This course provided the foundational knowledge on a wide breadth of subjects and techniques, as well as the tools and hands-on experience to demystify these techniques. Not only does the course walk you through the background and theory, it also provide you with coding templates and hands-on instruction to help apply what you're learning in real-world contexts. The course covers a vast array of subjects in a short amount of time so the pace can be a bit break-neck (and certain subjects, such as NLP, aren't covered due to time limitations), but I received tremendous support from my program manager (Miriam!) to stay on track and excel.  Read less

The whole program was well planned, the learning platform (website) was very easy to navigate, complete and very helpful. The professor are very much not only experts in their fields but also very much approachable, the mentors are also very accomodating and understanding in ensuring that we all understand what needs to be understood, and most of all the program managers really guided us and supported us all through out the program in order to complete the program successfully.

This course covers a lot in Data Science and Machine Learning, such as unstructured data, regression, prediction, recommendation, deep learning and etc. Each section is taught by different instructor, and their style varies, I like some, but some could be boring. I like the practice case study which you can fill in the blank and learning while most of script is ready (it’s good for a short course like this), and I also like the quiz that it actually tests your concept by twisting the question instead of a sentence directly from the course. I wish the all sections provide more study case and samples, hands-on is always the easiest way to learn.

• I had an amazing  experience with Great Learning on facilitating the MIT IDSS Data Science and Machine Learning program. This program is well designed with 8 modules from basic principles to advanced levels. There are eight to eleven learning instruments available in each module so that the students with different strengths can have relatively flexible and suitable forward paths to strive for success. I started this program as a beginner, with basic coding background though good math and statistics knowledge. With the help of Pre Work module and Foundations of Data Science, I have got myself prepared well for the journey of the subsequent modules of Data Science. Although I was too busy on daily work, I’ve successfully completed all mandatory modules and gone through the tests and projects thanks to the great mentorship and detailed instructions/leaning instruments. 
• In a word, I would like to thank Great Learning for leading me to the wonderful world of Data Science and Machine Learning. By any chance. This is a great program! It met my expectations and I have learnt a lot! The Olympus platform is very user-friendly and the lecture videos very useful! I really loved the live mentored learning sessions where my questions arising from the lecture videos were answered and difficult areas covered and clarified! I joined this program with zero coding experience. I was hand held with well structured videos and intermittent feedbacks to learn how to code and then dive deeply into the data science and machine learning world. I had to show commitment, taking the regular quiz assessment and project assignments. It was a great experience with support from my dedicated program manager Twinkle and mentor Mahesh. I have just completed "PG Program in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning" program offered by Great learnings in partnership with the University Of Texas at Austin / McCombs School of Business.  At beginning, it looked exhaustive but the suggestion is to just commit for it not think soo much, the course is designed such that you get all the key concepts by going through self-paced learning materials. There is a weekend session with a mentor who further clears all the doubts.  Overall Program focuses on hand-on exercises (projects) , case studies are very interesting as well.  The program office of great learnings acts as a strong pillar to help you along the way and they are pretty much available 24x7. I got time to time help from the Program team on my questions and all administrative aspects.  It was overall a wonderful experience for me, I not only learned new skills but also the ease of learning mattered to me a lot.   I would recommend this program to anyone who is a beginner or intermediate on their AI-ML journey.  Read less

I recently completed the "Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions program by MIT IDSS" and I have to say that it was an incredible learning experience. The course material was well-organized and easy to follow, with a good mix of theory and practical exercises. The instructors were knowledgeable and always available to answer any questions I had. One of the things I appreciated most about the course was the variety of topics covered. From data cleaning and preprocessing to data visualization, classification, recommender systems, and networks, I felt like I gained a comprehensive understanding of the field. The material covered was extensive, with a good combination of theory and more importantly practical, take-away examples. I enrolled with the Making Data-Driven Decisions program by MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) on Great Learning platform in the September 2022 Cohort.


Overall the course is updated and very suitable for working professionals, beginners wanting to venture into the new domain. The videos of training are from the top notch, first line, highly experienced executives of ML/DS domain. Top marks for the instructors whose videos forms the crux of the training for the entire course in addition to online weekly Live mentored learning sessions.


Being from a Chemical Engineering background, and having classical engineering job experience, I had almost no background on Statistics and Programming Languages. Post the course I have been equipped with skills, which I am applying to perform data analysis for our company (who sponsored the course) quite successfully to solve problems and get more insights to formulate further strategies.


I would also like to have a special mention of Mrs. Akshatha / Sandhya and also Senior Trainer Dr. Abhinanda Sarkar (Academic Director) who has been phenomenal in this journey of my training with their best abilities to contribute to my upskilling.
