Great Learning

I have completed the MIT Great Learning "Applied Data Science" degree program. This was an accelerated program that taught concepts and hands-on learning for multiple topics required. These ranged from Statistics, Probability, Supervised & Unsupervised Machine Learning, as well as Neural Networks. We used actual datasets and python coding to complete all of the various course exercises. The lectures and mentoring sessions were led by MIT instructors and the program was managed and supported by Great Learning. Together they made a great team to guide and support us throughout the journey. The Program Manager in particular assigned  to our cohort was also extremely helpful and responsive for any questions or needs. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to get into the data science profession or advance their career. It is valuable for anyone. Read less

I finished Applied Data Science course with MIT and Great Learning. It really was a great learning Experience! The journey wasn’t easy as I needed to juggle my full time job and the course. However the course is well designed and teaches you the concepts and how to apply them step by step, in addition, the Great learning team gave me all the support I needed. 

The content is challenging, comprehensive and deep but in the end it was a very satisfying journey.  Read less

I applied to this course in December, it started in March with 2 months of opportunity to do some pre-work, so It's basically starting in January. It involves a mix of videos, zoom calls, web tests, and python notebooks for some exercises. One of the nicest things about it is the mentored learning sessions involve experts in the field and it feels very privileged to receive their instructions and ask questions. It is at a fast pace but generally flexible. It covers a wide variety of topics and narrow in your focus as you go which I think is a good way to do it. I also found the instructors and managers to be very nice and have no complaints really. Read less

The Applied Data Science program, with MIT and Great Learning, was a truly fantastic experience. Beautifully organized, a width and breadth of material in statistics, with a good grounding education in Python - having had no experience in coding/programming, I walk away comfortable in it like I could not have imagined. The faculty and their lectures were superb and thorough. Rishi Shankar, my program manager, was a jewel. Always responsive and considerate, very thorough, and a pleasure to interact with. I cannot recommend this program enough. With my background, this was like a revelation and helped me think about analytics in a way that will forever be a new foundation! Read less

Great Learning might be damn expensive, it might be damn remote, but let me tell you, every damn piece of information you're gonna get is top-notch.

The quality of the professors' expertise will help you grow professionally by tackling complex concepts and showing you how to solve typical problems you'll face within data sets. However, if you're afraid of a change in your salary and professional growth, if you're intimidated by technology, if you're not a creative problem solver, if you're not willing to continuously learn, and if it's not your passion... then Great Learning might not be the right choice for you as it would be a waste of money.

On the other hand, if you're willing to put in the effort required to learn a challenging career, go ahead and join the community. Read less

I recently completed the Data Science and Machine Learning course, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. Throughout the course, I learned Python programming and various modeling techniques. My overall learning experience was wonderful! The program I attended was the Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions program. From this program I was able to learn how to make sense of unstructured data and the hands on process in creating models with different functions. What makes this course amazing is the topics covered, the mentoring sessions, and the case studies offered. My experience with Great Learning was incredible. I was kind of skeptical when I started a fully online program, thinking that I may not get the help that I need. It was an amazing experience with great learning while I was enrolled and continuing my study of MIT Applied Data Science Program 2023. I had similar experience with other learning platform but great learning was just outstanding. Everything was well organized and  scheduled on time. MIT ADSP 2023 curriculum was excellent, MIT professors and menors were just perfect. Great learning management and support team were promt and super responsive. As a seasoned IT professional I would strongly recommend this program for anybody who is interested about data science/AI/ML/DL. Irecently graduated from the Applied Data Science program and I think is the right program if you are willing to know more about analyzing data and AI. From the start, I felt the support from the team when I had additional doubts about an specific topic, so you will be able to navigate the program with all the tools that you need.

The course started with the basics in Python and Statistics, and then you go deeper into Machine learning, Deep learning, among other topics, so you gradually understand which tools you need to use depending on the project that you are facing.

Overall, I highly recommend this program to anyone interested in pursuing a career in data science or expanding their knowledge in this field. The support is something really outstanding and all the sessions are really fruitful and you can notice instantly where to apply the tools/topics. Read less

I just finished the Applied Data Science Program with Great Learning, which was offered in partnership with MIT Professional Education. We had lectures from incredibly distinguished professors from MIT, and great sessions over the week-ends with a mentor, professional in the industry, clarifying the concepts and dispensing helpful tips. The curriculum is very well curated to bring the most relevant content within a tightly operated schedule. Our program manager was kind, enthusiastic and very responsive, and she kept me going at a time when I felt overwhelmed with professional and family obligations. Great learning also has a wonderful dashboard for navigating course content, milestones, career, and community building.
I am very impressed with the education received, as well as the opportunities for networking with peers. We are concluding the bootcamp with an optional hackathon - which turns out to be quite fun! Read less

I had the pleasure of enrolling in the 12-week Applied Data Science Program offered by Great Learning. It was well worth the money and time I put into the program and I am extremely glad I took part in this program.

When I joined the program, I had no prior knowledge of computer programming or Python. 12 weeks later, I have a strong foundation into the principles of basic data science and I am interested in continuing education into the field of data science. This is because Great Learning did a great job teaching the most essential information about data science and making it easy to understand for a beginner like me to quickly learn as much as I can in this field. Great Learning had great teaching methods, such as video tutorials, video lectures taught by world-class professors in the field, and summarized information from the video lectures. This made it easy for me to quickly learn the essential information about data science in a short amount of time. Furthermore, there was help available 24/7 if I needed it. All we had to do to request help was to submit a query and the instructor would respond promptly to our message within 24 hours. All the opportunities that Great Learning gave to help me when I had questions made it easy for a beginner like me to quickly learn in the field of data science.

My program manager Rama Garg also did a great job as a program manager. She was always helping me when I had questions about what we learned in data science. Her class lectures were very helpful and she clearly and concisely explained the information we had to learn. She was very prompt in getting back to me when I submitted an online query for help. Her teaching methods were easy to understand so I felt I could follow along and learn quickly in the field of data science.

Even though many students do struggle to learn in online programs where communication can be limited due to lack of face-to-face interaction, I felt that Great Learning as an online program did a terrific job helping me learn quickly than most face-to-face/in class building programs have. The helpfulness and timeliness of the staff in answering support queries, multiple learning methods such as video tutorials, summarized information from lectures, practice quizzes, etc., and the mentored learning sessions took the hurdles of online education away and helped a beginner into data science like me learn a lot in a short amount of time. While starting the course, since I am passionate about programming, acquired python skills easily, but I was really hesitant about statistics since I learnt statistics during my college days. But I got confidence by going through Great Learning's Pre course content. 

Since I have been working, it was hard to join my weekdays professor sessions, but since it was recorded, I watched those during my nighttime, and I love instructors weekend sessions where I gained lots of knowledge about those weekly taught concepts. 

During the course of learning, my mind started to relate to my work-related stuff which was a great feeling. I learnt more deeper while doing assessments, case studies, and projects. This is fast paced course for sure, hence by allocating minimum 10 hours per week for learning will help to understand and experience better. 

When I compare myself before and after the course, now I am able to understand and apply any data science related articles and the code content. I am so glad that I participated this program and gained data science knowledge. Greatly appreciate Professors, Instructors, and the people who furnished the course content, assessment, case study and projects. Thoroughly enjoyed this program and highly recommend to everyone who is ready to acquire data science course with commitment.  Read less

I really enjoyed taking the course of applied data science with great learning and mit. Rama was such a great help during all course phases. What i really liked the most is the focus on actual fun learning by the provider. Although the content wasn't as easy but it was really fun. Well rounded program that covers academic teaching and hands on exercises to grow proficiency with Python and its various libraries applying the concepts of Data Science and Machine learning.  The program provided plenty of reference and practice material which enabled me to gain understanding and competence outside of just the instruction.  A thorough course with a lot of useful material! I had the pleasure undertaking the learning journey of the 12-week Advanced Data Science Program held by Great Learning from Jan 2023 to April 2023. 
After being a software engineer for more than 20 years, I decided to try something new explore the great world of machine learning.

When I started this program, I was baffled and perplexed about how I would get through so much content in such a short time.  However, the instructors, as well as the program managers made this program very viable with online recorded sessions , direct email and forum help and also a well design website which helps you correctly navigate the program as you progress from week to week.
