A full throttle engine on Data Science.
It is a challenging experience where you learn from the very basics of Python syntax up to statitical analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, among a wide variety of DS tools and knowledge. It is a experience you have to live at least once, but i believe that a second round would still have a lot of juice to learn from CorrelationOne experts.

Before DS4A I feel I was just roaming and drifting about my career. Of course, I learned a lot about Data Science on my own, but this was a fire test to realize what was exactly my skills level and all the weaknesses I needed to workup.

This course is amazing, prof. Natesh is amazing, he makes the course very engaging, he is funny, the methodology lets you interact within the class with others. About the curriculum, for me it is really good, it covers several Data Science tools you need in order to do well as a Data Scientist, it covers Exploratory Data Analysis, Modeling, Hypothesis testing, Deep Learning, SQL among others which gives you a good overview of the basics of each subject. Maybe the content does not dive deeply into the specifics but I think is good enough. The other amazing thing is that for each topic, you are working on a real problem, with a real dataset, which is amazing as you are learning by doing (programming in python every concept) which let's you a better understanding and also there is a real project on which you have to work with a teams in order to apply for the graduation. At the end you have to pitch your project, your solution for a real-world problem which is amazing. I think the course is useful for people learning Data Science, not so advanced but a really good one. -

DS4A was an incredible program, the quality of the lectures and the excellent design of the study cases make the experience unique.
During the training we covered many of the most relevant topics related with data science, which gave us tools to deal with a huge variaty of real world business problems.
DS4A can take to the next level the career of a beginner data scientist and also of an experienced ones. The way the program is design allow everyone to learn a lot, it does not matter how experienced and how much previous knowledge the participant has. -

As Mathematician, I have always wanted to study topics related to Machine Learning and Data Science, but I haven't really worked in Python; however I apply to the program and I love it.
I like the fact that they have small "boot camps" used to learn or reinforce the knowledge in some programs/ python libraries; I also like "wide" of topics that we see, I don't know much, but I feel that we see a little of almost everything, and if you want you can go deepen on some topics by your own. And the final project was also exciting for me, because have never been worked in a software solution and study in a similar real environment help me a lot (I learned about Slack, how to use git properly, how to organize a project and so on).
Finally, I have a doubt with the institution, they really help me to get a job, I could get a good one with a huge Medellín company. -

Everything perfectly thought out and developed.

Hello there!
I want to tell you a little bit about my experience on the DS4A program offered by Correlation One.
During the last months of 2020, the opportunity of participating in the DS4A program that was carried out in Colombia was presented to me in an unexpected manner. I entered the program after approving an interesting test with a mixture of feelings between nervousness and uncertainty since I didn't know what to expect. I had background working with data science related topics due to the work I had developed during my PhD and was uncertain if the course would be either too basic or too advanced.
Well, after completing the course I can say that it was fantastic. The program's content is aimed to everybody. It doesn't matter if you have data science or software development experience. It will take you from the fundamentals to some advanced concepts leaving you with all the skills needed to continue the adventure on your own if you find it appealing.
If I had to list the positive things I found on the program I would say:
- The practical lessons were original and really useful. The program will teach you the concepts through practical scenarios were you can review the concepts as well as testing them with software development.
- In my case, we had access to an amazing team of instructors from all around the globe as well as Colombia (so the language was not an issue if you don't have confidence in your English). All of them with the best attitude and willing to solve your doubts and support you.
- The final project. In order to graduate you have to present a data science project that can be developed either from your own ideas or with companies that need to solve an issue. Working with a company and having to coordinate with your team to obtain the best results is as close to reality as it can be.
- The material the course shares with you. Even now as I am working as a data analyst on a company, the books, the lessons, the forums and everything that the program shared with me has been useful to fulfill my responsibilities on the company.
- The people you meet and networking you obtain from the experience. I never imagined that in Colombia there was such amount of amazing people that worked around data science and machine learning. The program left me with really good friends and with several contacts that I know can be useful at any moment I might need it.
On the other hand, in my personal opinion, the things that can be improved are the following:
- The amount of time required for the program was quite demanding. One of the things that took me off guard was that I entered the program thinking that dedicating the weekends to it would be enough. Trust me, it was not. If I wanted to get the best from the program I had to dedicate at least a couple of hours of each day to study the lessons and complete the assignments. Looking back now, I can say that this effort is what made the experience so rich and really useful for me but I think this can be improved in the future since I had teammates that could not handle it with their work responsibilities and ended up having a stressful time.
- Among many other things topics that the program introduces, the topics related with machine learning were centered around regression only. I understand now that it is more common to find regression problems in the industry and that it is impossible to cover every single topic around data science and machine learning in such short amount of time. However, I believe that some practical cases around classification problems and its differences against regression can be really useful for anyone.
To sum up, I recommend the program to whoever wants to start his/her journey on data science or wants to solidify the fundamentals (if you have background, trust me there are things you have not realized that the program clarifies). You will meet a group of amazing people, have an amazing time with Natesh a great DJ and even more amazing professor and end up with a set of skills that will make you look at the world with another perspective. Enjoy the experience, make a lot of friends and of course learn as much as you can. At the end of the program you will feel proud of what you have accomplished if you made the honest effort.

Data Science for All / Colombia 3.0 (DS4A) was beyond any expectation. It's the result of mixing a solid curriculum of Data Science algorithms, approached with Python programming, uncovering patterns by means of exploratory analysis and data visualization and sophisticated machine learning methods. DS4A also teaches the right mindset for solving non-trivial problems while deeply understanding main ideas behind procedures. Data Science for All/ Empowerment was my very first time learning how to code, and it was the best introduction for my start in the data science field. The curriculum is very difficult, and as a new coder the fast-paced teaching and 4 hours of lecture every week was a lot to get behind, but the fellows and their guest speakers keep you motivated! My teaching assistants were extremely helpful and were so willing to work with you if you could not make it to their weekly office hours. And, most importantly, the community that this program was able to create was unlike any other institution, program, or fellowship I have ever been a part of. Fellows just wanted to help and see you succeed whether that be connecting you with people in their network, sharing job opportunities or grants, or hopping on a Zoom call to help you with homework. If you're interested in learning how to code or strengthen your coding skills, apply to the next DS4A cohort!

I'm so happy that I was able to take part in this program. Overall, the instructors were very knowledgeable and professional. The subject matter was relevant and easily digestible, and the TAs were always willing to help you in your understanding of complex concepts.
I was hoping that the conclusion of this program would lead to job opportunities in operations analyst roles, but I was fortunate to land an interview at a big tech firm during the program. I've now been at the company for 3 months and my manager said that "[my] participation in this program directly contributed to [his] decision to hire me." I would absolutely recommend this program, the instructors, and the TAs for anyone looking to enter into this field. Happy learning! -

The DS4A program was fantastic overall, the exposure to industry Data Scientists and academics was greatly rewarding. Having come into the program lacking confidence, the program helped to teach me that often we are far more capable than we know. Working alongside other graduates, data professionals and those trying to change careers allowed for the transfer of skills and opportunity to form professional relationships. Im going to give a quick breakdown of positives and negatives:
Positive:- Fantastic teachers
- Exposure to reputable companies and support for career development and job applications
- Working alongside the most diverse Data Science cohort
- Hands on learning with real world use cases
- Very well structured
- Great support
Negative/can be improved:- The course focussed significantly on Data Analytics not allowing for enough time spent on Data Science topics
- The classes did not completely align with project work, we were sometimes taught topics after we were expected to submit project tasks which required that knowledge
- More structure for mentors to allow for more useful meetings.

This program was the best way to explore a field that I had been curious about. I had telling myself for years that I wanted to learn to code and had started by teaching myself but this program kick started my data science education into gear.
The professor is quite possibly one of the best educators I've ever had. I'm convinced he could teach data science to a baby. The way he explains difficult concepts is in a way that anyone can understand. The DS4A staff are all open to questions and want to help you understand the material as well as complete your project strong.
Data science has helped me think critically about how analyses are done and how data can be manipulated. It has made me a more analytical person with the tools that make me stand out amongst other people in my field. I'm very excited to use my new skills in my work now and into the future. Needless to say, I'm also pumped to learn more. -

This program is top notch! Taught by world class professors and professionals, the course covers key data science concepts while affording the opportunity to explore advanced concepts as well. In addition to providing participants with the real world cases to apply data analysis and science skills to, the program provides something just as valuable, a supportive and encouraging community of like minded individuals. Its hard to say which component of DS4A is so impactful, because all areas of the program were huge for me. If you are looking for a program to teach you skills, develop community, real world experience, and provides mentorship and career exploration tools, DS4All does just that. It is challenging, but challenging in such a way that you know that you are learning skills that are necessary. I can't promise that this program is easy, but it is definitely worth it! -

I'd like to begin by saying that first and foremost, the staff is dedicated to the cohort; this is extremely important because without this type of dedication, perhaps a program like this would not survive. Second, the program is absolutely free, which is mind blowing, albeit it does require an entrance exam, and is also diversity based, which is understandable for the nature of this program.
It is a course meant for non-technical students, so from an engineer's perspective it was not as theoretically challenging as I would have hoped, however, it is not to say I was not challeneged. They teach you a lot of the basics of Python, some statistical concepts, and many other python libraries like numpy, pandas, matplotlib, etc. that are invaluable to a data scientist; the course primarily focuses on understanding your data, analyzing your data, and understanding certain issues that exist within data that create issues when deep diving into a dataset. Quite a few of these things were challenging for me in their own respective way, and I've been able to get a realistic view into the life of a data scientist.
With that being said, the format of the class is case study based, with a few take home assignments that span a week or two to complete; there is also a final project that is done as a group (4-6 students), where the groups are selected based on a few factors including area of interests, and skillset - my group had a PM, I was the programmer, a junior engineer, and an analyst. We were very successful - as were the other groups - and all our projects were quite incredible. All in all, you have to put in the work... with almost everything in life it is a 'what you give is what you get', so you should fill in all the gaps and not blame the course because it gives you more than you could ask for.
We also received links to jobs, a virtual career fair, a mentor from industry (our mentor was the director of data science at Wayfair!) - just a whole bundle of perks that is too good too be true.
Lastly, our class was just awesome, my fellow colleagues were all bright, positive, intelligent people whom of which I was thoroughly impressed with, and just impressed with how much input everyone gave. For the first time in a long time (if not the first) I was in an academic environment where everyone was happy to be there and actually wanted to pitch in, and participate and get the most out of this program. The teachers too - all super qualified, extremely bright people - the staff ...

Last August, I selected skills and areas I wanted to focus on during my last year of grad school - one of which was data analytics. Coincidentally, within the next week, I received a promotional email about a data science "Bootcamp" through Correlation One. The program hopes to provide more access to the data science field to folx from marginalized identities - creating Data Science for All (DS4A). I applied for the program the next day and was accepted into their very first cohort. After a long 15 weeks where I dedicated 9 hrs of my Saturdays, I finally graduated from the program a couple of days ago!
During DS4A / Empowerment, I learned data analytics through practical cases using real data sets and completing assignments. I also completed a team project where my group aggregated Department of Ed data on colleges and created a tool to help high school seniors make the best college decision for them. I am proud of all I learned: technical skills like Python, data concepts like A/B testing, and overall data literacy. Looking forward to using my new tools in my journey post-graduation. -

It is probably the selection process, complete with practical tests and incredibly competitive admissions (<6% for our cohort) that created such a great experience. Every other fellow there was passionate and brilliant, and the cohort was incredibly diverse both in terms of work experience, educational background, and life experience. Our team could not have been better, and I hope to continue working relationships in the future with the four other fellows that were assigned to our team.
The quality of instruction was the best I've ever had, and the engagement and encouragement has helped me better define my plans going forward. I am considering more education because of how wonderful this experience, led by professors from top universities, was.
There are a lot of job opportunities for Fellows who are looking to change careers. Several people I know received good offers as a part of the program, even if they had little formal tech experience. The partner companies are very active in recruiting, and fellows have access to Q&A sessions and interactions with representatives from those companies. Despite not looking for a career change, I attended several of the sessions and learned a good amount about how different companies are structured and what they are doing in terms of both Data Science and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
I'd hire any one of the fellows I graduated with because I know how intensive both the training and the initial recruitment process were. I recommend this program to everyone I know, and plan to stay involved in the future. I would do it again if I could!
