I'll say that while there is quite a lot of information to digest, I don't believe that changes based on your bootcamp.  I had a ton of support, even though I was flex-based.  I recommend this style of coursework  for organized and driven students who don't require a live setting.   If you have any doubt, I would urge you to do the live setting.    That being said, if you know this is something you are interested in learning, and are able to stay well-organized in your time, there are plenty of instructors who are willing to help you in your journey!

I liked Coding Temple. I believe there is a lot of value in their program, and that they are always working to provide more value to their students. My favorite part about the program was their instructors - my first teacher Travis and specialization teacher Dylan. Sarah was great too, but we only had her the first week of class. I loved having classmates, and I enjoyed having the option to do stuff outside of class, time permitting, with the workshops, codewars problems, and whiteboards. 

Coding Temple is hard. You have to apply yourself. I would recommend being sure that you want to do it before making the commitment, because it’s a big one. I spent some time on freecodecamp everyday a couple months before deciding to sign up for class. There will be things that really test your patience and mental strength. You will spend long hours on the computer learning complicated things. I found it to be a lot of fun, even though sometimes it can be very frustrating and/or difficult. There were days where I seriously wanted to rip my hair out. Go into it with the expectation that you will have to learn to teach yourself things and investigate. You will spend time reading documentation and troubleshooting by yourself, but you will always be able to schedule a 1-on-1 or ask your classmates for help. 

I think the front end core section of the course could have been a bit better. That was the main thing that I struggled with, and why I chose backend as my specialty. I felt like I didn’t have enough time to dive into JavaScript and React like I was able to with Python. I am happy with my decision though.  Read less

I personally enjoyed my time at Coding Temple, I had a need for structure when learning new things. I recently completed the frontend specialization at Coding Temple and had an outstanding experience. The curriculum was well-structured, covering everything from HTML and CSS to advanced JavaScript frameworks like React. The hands-on projects made learning practical and engaging.

I recently completed a software engineering bootcamp at CodingTemple, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows that ultimately culminated in a rewarding journey.
Backend Core and Specialization with Dylan Katina The highlight of the program was undoubtedly the Backend Core and Specialization segments, taught by Dylan Katina. Dylan was an exceptional instructor who clearly dedicated significant time to preparing for each class. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he had a unique ability to make complex topics engaging and understandable. Dylan's thorough approach ensured that we grasped the core concepts and could apply them confidently in practical scenarios. His teaching made the backend specialization a highly enjoyable and valuable experience.

Frontend Core ExperienceThe Frontend Core portion of the bootcamp, however, was initially disappointing. Our first instructor, Shoha, struggled to meet the expectations set by the program. His lack of preparation and novice demeanor were evident, which impacted the quality of learning. Recognizing these issues, I brought my concerns to the Principal and Student Success Manager at CodingTemple. To their credit, they acted swiftly and within a couple of weeks, we were assigned a new instructor, Christian.
Transition to Christian Although Christian joined us in the final two weeks of the six-week program, his impact was immediate and positive. Much like Dylan, Christian was well-prepared, knowledgeable, and engaging. His teaching style resonated well with the class, and he significantly improved our understanding of the frontend technologies, even in the limited time he had.
Overall Experience Despite the initial hiccup with the frontend instruction, my overall experience at CodingTemple was positive. The swift response from the administration to address our concerns and the exceptional quality of teaching from Dylan and Christian reaffirmed my decision to join this bootcamp. I feel well-prepared to embark on my career in software engineering, thanks to the solid foundation and practical skills I gained from this program.

In conclusion, CodingTemple's software engineering bootcamp, with its strong backend instruction and responsive administration, is a commendable choice for aspiring developers. I have had few instructors through this course, but I can definitely say that Dylan Katina stood out among the others with his professionalism, constructive way of explaining new technical material, dedication to what he does, respectful attitude to his students, and extraordinary ability to deliver lectures making complicated things look easy. From videos to documents, they even make great recommendations for websites to use to further your knowledge or help with your projects. I was very amazed by how much I learned in the short amount of time given to us, our teachers Brian and Travis were awesome they were very kind and patient and they broke concepts down in a very simple way, and I can't thank them enough for it. Overall Great experience definitely would reccomend. I took the full-time SWE course which was 10 weeks it will seem scary at first but if you put the time and effort you can pull it off. Read less

There is no network of employer they work with to place their students. Their job placement rates are grossly overestimated and they lied about job placement support. I participated in the flex software engineering course, I found it great and easy to jump into. Any issues I had, the staff was more than willing to address and find a solution as soon as possible. If you have never programmed at all, I would recommend taking the guided course versus the flex course as the flask and react sections were a little advance for me, as someone who has had previous programming experience. I will say the software engineering course is web based and not as much desktop application based as I thought. I would recommend this to friends and probably do this a lot earlier in life if I had known about it. Read less

My experience with the Coding Temple Flex Program has been 10/10! The instructors are SO helpful and responsive. They have so much additional material to offer students who are stuck on certain concepts. I also have to give a special shoutout to Aften with Student Success. I started the program working full-time, in school (separately) part-time AND planning my wedding-- really poor planning on my part. Coding temple is amazing! Specifically, ALEX AND RYAN are GREAT instructors!! I will say going through this bootcamp has been very challenging and intense however, Alex and Ryan made things a lot easier for me during through bootcamp. If you are going through life outside of this bootcamp all you have to do is communicate with your instructors what's going on (sometimes it can be rough to open up) but I will never regret it! Alex and Ryan have patience, understanding, and are willing to work with you as long as you communicate and put in the work! The best part about it is once you become alumni you can still communicate with them, and they will help as much as they can! Thank you so much for being so awesome, patient, and understanding!! I had the pleasure of being a part of Katie Sylvia's Data Coding and Analytics 8-week bootcamp, and I cannot recommend her enough. Katie's dedication to teaching and ensuring that every student grasped the concepts was truly remarkable.

What set Katie apart from other instructors in the field was her ability to teach in various ways to accommodate different learning styles. In a field as technical and fast-paced as data coding, it can be challenging for beginners to keep up. However, Katie's experience as a high school teacher allowed her to translate complex concepts into understandable terms. She focused on helping us grasp the "why" behind each topic and understand the goals and overall purpose, rather than simply memorizing code.

One of the things I appreciated most about Katie was her commitment to creating a fun and supportive learning environment. She fostered a sense of camaraderie among the class, encouraging us to work together as a team to tackle tasks and lean on one another for support. This small family-like culture made the learning experience not only informative but enjoyable as well.

Katie's willingness to go above and beyond for her students was evident in her approach to addressing questions and concerns. She never hesitated to revisit a topic or explain it from a different angle, utilizing visualizations or alternative explanations to ensure our understanding before moving forward. Her patience and adaptability were truly commendable.

Overall, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from Katie Sylvia. Her expertise, teaching style, and dedication to her students make her an exceptional instructor.
