Avocademy UX/UI Foundations is a great course! I love that you can apply what you are learning as you go, and that at the end you have a solid project. You learn the design process such as doing research, ideation, design, and prototype. You have access to one-on-one mentor meetings and feel led throughout the learning process. The mentors are amazing, and you can see that they are there to encourage you as you complete the course.

I come from a design background and I found Avocademy through Tiktok and immediately was interested in joining. First of all, you can't beat the price compared to other bootcamps. They have great articles and videos explaining the entire UX process. The 1on1 mentorship is unmatched. The fact that they are other ux/product designers in the field looking at your work while working through the program is great. You are learning these skills while also connecting and networking with other students. I would 100% recommend this to others who are wanting to break into the UX tech space. I have now signed up for the career jumpstart program, so I am excited to start that. -

Sometimes receiving the mentor feedback can take a while but that's all part of the process. I definitely recommend Avocademy to anyone who's interest in UI/UX design and needs structure and routine to transition. -

I could not have picked a better bootcamp experience! The curriculum was divided into east to understand videos and assignments. The mentors were so helpful and patient, especially since I had zero experience or background in the design/ tech field. I learned so much and you won’t get a better bang for your buck elsewhere. -

Learning alongside other aspiring UX/UI designers was such a great experience at Avocademy. One thing I must say is it wasn't easy, you have to dedicate a lot of personal time doing client projects. They are face-paced and sometimes can be a bit stressful. However, I don't regret doing it because the outcome led to success for me. Took me a few months to get the job which was OKAY! the mentors were always there for me to give me advice and cheer me through this difficult phase. The avo-community is definitely the best thing here, you meet a lot of interesting people coming from all kinds of backgrounds. My favorite part of CJ was the daily meet-up calls, it was always exciting to receive advice from other people who are also in the application/interviewing phase process. My advice in order to succeed in this program is to keep on talking to everyone as much as possible, if you are stuck reach out to the staff or students everyone is super friendly, and have fun! :) -

I joined Avocademy's Career Jumpstart in June 2022, started applying to jobs in August 2022, and got a job in October 2022. I completed 3 client projects that were added to my portfolio and got so many resources and support on my job hunt. I'm not sure how Maca does it but she develops a connection with all of her students and is always available to provide feedback and support. The Career Coaches and Mentors are all amazing. Could not have asked for a better program. -

Let me start by saying how incredibly supportive and kind everyone at Avocademy is. Maca, the founder, has created an awesome culture and is personally invested in the success of every student. From starting the bootcamp to the point of finding a job (with a 30k salary increase) took me 10 months. I wasn't in a hurry and worked at my own pace. Getting the bootcamp done in two months while working full-time was too much for me, but other people might be able to do it. The course content is really thorough and great. The only thing that challenged me is that there are parts in the course where you're supposed to take to the Internet to teach yourself certain things, but the directions at the time didn't explicitly say that and I was too dumb to figure it out lol. Overall though, I am career changing from running a horse barn to being a UX designer at a nationally recognized company within a year and making a great salary. I get to work from home and I have a big network of awesome and supportive people to draw from as I continue in my career and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made to join Avocademy! -

I thank CJ and the team for creating such an incredible program and am SO grateful to Tikok for leading me to Avocademy. I have met such wonderful folks that have truly pushed me and I can now say I am a full-time, hired, UX Designer in the field. CJ has given me the opportunity to work with various people from different backgrounds, provided me with experience with real client projects, and helped me fine-tune my user experience skills. It was hard work but if you're willing to be consistent and disciplined, this program is for you.
Many have asked if they can do this while working full time and I will say, this is possible!!!!! I was exhausted most days but knew this was all worth it and I was tired of not seeing my fullest potential. I attended CJ daily calls, which provided crucial information to connect with employers and tricks to perfect my interviewing style. I learned so much and it better prepared me for the job application phase. Mentors, career coaches, and other professionals were easy to contact, and it was easy to book appointments with mentors should I have any clarifying questions about my portfolio and work. I also was also fond of the overview videos for each deliverable we may need additional guidance on. The mentors/team will step in should you have any questions and will provide you feedback on things to work on. Again, thank you CJ for helping me transition careers so seamlessly!! -

If you start something from scratch so by definition you won't have prior experience. Neither have I when I started Avocademy BootCamp 1 year ago. It appeared to be the right decision because Avocademy had everything I needed to succeed. From foundation course to working on a real project and full job search assistance. Super cheap course btw and at your own pace. The best $2k I've ever invested in my life and my background is the financial advisor. The ROI on $2k is 5500% in 1 year because I landed a $112k/year job. -

I reviewed countless UX Bootcamps, but Avocademy continued to stand out to me. It had everything I decided I was looking for after doing research on what I would need/want in a Bootcamp AND it was affordable. I got an email about a graduate zoom call where Avocademy graduates shared their experience from day one to landing a job as a UX Designer. This call made me want to sign up immediately. Hearing their stories, hearing them talk about feeling that inevitable imposter syndrome and that it was normal and ok, reassured me that I, too, could do this. I just needed to START and get to work. So I did.
The course provides written and video content and lots of examples along the way, which was very helpful for a visual learner like myself. This course is so supportive in the way it is written; reminding you are doing a good job, reminding you to take care of yourself, etc. As a neurodivergent mom of 3 transitioning from being a SAHM and entrepreneur, those little details helped me a LOT. The project seems huge and overwhelming at first, but they do an excellent job of breaking it down into bite size pieces and reminding you to just focus on that one step in front of you. The mentorship they provide is amazing too, the mentors are great at what they do and always offering helpful tips and ideas, and the option to meet virtually with a mentor is available as often as you need.
There were times when I grew impatient, waiting for mentors to review my work and worrying I wouldn't meet my deadlines for each phase, but it all worked out in the end. Is this a perfect course? No, but it's ever-evolving and they are very transparent about that, which I appreciate. They are always always looking for ways to improve their students experience and that's a sign of the type of environment you want to be in.
The learning environment was exactly what I needed and knowing that I had the option to join Career Jumpstart to further my education and experience with support in my job search - well, I absolutely made the right decision in choosing Avocademy. -

If you're looking to get into UX/UI Design, this is the course to take! It's reasonably priced and you learn so much. I feel so confident about my skills from taking this course and I felt so supported by the mentor team at Avocademy. It does move really fast so you have to be ready to put in the time, but it's so worth it. -

I took Avocademy‘s UXUI foundations course and immediately enrolled into Career Jumpstart. The founders Maca and Alex are highly involved and supportive along with all of the mentors. I decided to continue with Avocademy because of their unlimited mentorship and affordability. The job tracking, resume and portfolio reviews, mock interviews, interview debriefs, design challenge help and salary negation offered are so valuable. I highly recommend Avocademy to anyone making a career change into UX/UI! -

I worked in law as a paralegal, and the job wasn't for me. I saw an add for Avocademy on IG, and it looked really interesting. I'm so glad that they did a great job designing the add, because it's been a great experience. They do a wonderful job giving you a foundation to build from. They also show you how to learn more, which is so important. Their "Career Jumpstart" program is literally why I have a job as a UX designer. I couldn't be more grateful or appreciative. Everything that they put on their ads and website is true, and I can't recommend them highly enough. I was a paralegal in February and I'm a Junior UX designer in September. -

I joined Career Jumpstart and was able to land a job 6 weeks after I started applying all thanks to Avocademy. In the past, I had been trying to find a job for a year and wasn't successful. I didn't fully understand what it takes to become a competitive candidate and land a job. Thanks to this program, I could create a good resume and portfolio. The mentors are great, they are designers and have been in the field for a while, so they give you great and actionable advice. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to transition into UX/UI Design. -

I just landed my first full-time position as a designer thanks to Avocademy!
It took me two months to complete the Foundations course. Almost three months to complete career jumpstart. And 32 days of job searching to land my first full-time role in tech. If you're like me, I was really curious about Avocademy and would come on here to read reviews because I was nervous about signing up for it. However, I can honestly say it's been the best decision. The course material is really informative + all the mentors are incredibly knowledgable. The career jumpstart portion allowed me to work with international clients and build my portfolio.
I feel prepared for my new role and highly encourage anyone who has wanted to make the career shift into tech to consider joining this program. It has changed the direction of my life.
My advice to new students: take advantage of all of the resources/people available to you! sign up for mentor sessions + really study the material being offered! Also, believe in yourself. You can do this! Tech needs more people like you in it! -

Having tried another bootcamp previously before Avocademy, I can truly say that Avocademy is top tier and number one. Before joining the UX/UI Foundations course a few months ago, I was feeling so lost and confused on where I wanted my career to go. I had no direction and wasn't sure how I'd afford the average bootcamp which costed more than I was making per year.
Avocademy not only saved my career, but it gave me hope and allowed me to find what I truly wanted to do in life, all without spending my entire life's savings. To add, the curriculum was so straight forward and easy to follow, which allowed me to grow my knowledge without feeling stuck or confused. I received all the help I needed in a quick amount of time. Also, the job assistance was some of the best I could ever possible imagine receiving. They really give all the tools you need to be very successful in this industry. Please, do yourself a favor and join Avocademy. It's literally the best the out there. -

I was initially hesistant joining a bootcamp I saw on an Instagram ad but from my experience the last 2-3 months have been amazing. The source material is great and the mentors are always updating it to fit industry standards, the mentors themselves are knowledgable and patient with us newbies in the field, and the overall experience we gain as students to prepare us for the real world is unmatched. The foundations class helped me learn more the UX design side with UI mixed in. The Career Jumpstart program which I'm in now has been good for learning to work in a group and with actual clients on projects. Maca and her team really care about us all and want to us to suceed in the field. With their help and our hard work, I feel good about making this career change. -

I first came across Avocademy on Tiktok. I thought it was another overpriced boot-camp with little to no human interaction, and I was completely wrong. The support system from Avocademy exceeded my expectations. You will learn everything you need to start in the UX/UI world, this is why it's called "foundations". The unlimited mentor sessions is one of their best features. If you ever feel lost doing an activity there is someone always around to help or give advice. I will be honest, its not easy but what you get out of this experience is priceless. The learning pace is very individualized, if you need to take a break or something has come up where you need to pause the boot-camp, Avocademy will work with you. Overall, I enjoyed my time with foundations so much that I am currently in their Career Jumpstart program. If your looking for a reasonably price, individualized boot-camp, Avocademy is for you. -

This bootcamp honestly exceeded my expectations and it's really given me skills that would have taken me so long to learn on my own. Avocademy is not only much cheaper compared to other bootcamps out there, but the community is also a lot more tight-knit, with helpful mentors and a well thought-out course. I can tell that the people in charge really care about the quality of work from students, which encourages me to do my best as well. I would highly recommend for anyone who is serious about transitioning into a UX design career. -

I am so glad that I choose Avocademy as my UX bootcamp. The initial foundations curriculum is very extensive while still being able to complete in a few months. Definitely take advantage of the many mentors available who currently work as UX designers! I learned so much just from asking a ton of questions. The Career Jumpstart (the second bootcamp after foundations) has been an invaluable program experience working directly with clients while having unlimited support from mentors. I feel so prepared to go into a UX job while not breaking the bank to peruse a new career. -

I joined the UX / UI Foundations Course in March of 2022. I found the academy through TikTok and I was hesitant at first but for the price and the deliverables I felt Avocademy was best fitted for me. The course is structured by modules - and if you've ever had any online school it is very similar to how those modules are set up. All the lessons are broken down into clear lessons and instructions for activities. However, if you have a hard time theres a plethora of people you can reach out to for help. I also feel like Avocademy gives you a really good community of junior ux / ui designers to network with. Overall I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to switch careers / learn the foundations of ux and ui. -

I think Avocademy is a GREAT value for the money. They provide lots of help, are remote, and their Career Jumpstart program helps you through the job application process seamlessly, and with lots of support. AND you get to work with real clients on real projects, which really gives you credibility when you apply to jobs. If you follow their steps, there is a 100% job placement rate. I'm not sure how it gets much better than that. -

From no knowledge at all to now being a full-time employed UX Designer in a total of 9 months.
From my experience, this particular BootCamp sets you up for success.
The course is designed to teach you how to find information for yourself. There was always a mentor available if I needed someone to "hold my hand" so to speak if I really didn't understand a topic. But the course walked you through the topics, and encouraged you to do further reading and research to understand the topic before they took you to the next activity.
I found that when I tried to fast-track myself or skip over the "recommended reading", it took me longer to grasp a concept and I made more mistakes. Eventually, I understood the reason they asked us to do this. I don't know if other students did what I did. But it took me some time to understand that I needed to be motivated to not do the bare minimum but to go beyond the expectations and read the suggested extra material. That's what made my knowledge expand.
They get you to hit the ground running with the software from the very start. Looking at where I was then to right now, it's leaps and bounds of a difference. A lot of that knowledge was acquired through activities, talking with other students, and sometimes doing live mentoring sessions where a qualified designer would help talk me through the challenge I was struggling with.
I took longer than 8 weeks to finish the course, but they worked with me every step of the way. The company wants you to succeed, and if you reach out, and put in the work, you will.
The Career Jumpstart program was worth its weight in gold. That was 100% the best investment in myself I have ever made. It was incredibly intense, fast-paced, and hands-on learning. You work with real clients, on real-world projects. You're not a student, you are a designer. But each project is set up so that there's a senior design lead who helps guide the project, mentors who oversee all the designs to help with any roadblocks, and with the hands-on learning you gain so much knowledge and insight into what a designer really does outside of a classroom. I personally gained enough experience under my belt, that I was leading teams in the end. It felt like a full-time job, but I knew that this was all in my best interest. They helped coach me to be ready for interviews and be job ready. And I got my first paid position with a six-figure salary within weeks of the job application process.
The keys to my personal success were leaving my ego at the door, always being open to constructive feedback (as it was always in my best interest), and motivating myself. There were many roadblocks. It was intense and hard. I took it each day, and each day I was further along the process. This course turned my career and life around. This is one decision I will truly never ever regret. -

I joined Career Jumpstart in February 2022, began applying to jobs on June 9th, and signed a job offer on June 30th.
I can't express enough gratitude for this program. The real-life experience that this program affords you is vital for actually landing a job. There are tons of interesting projects to work on and many skilled mentors that will ensure you deliver quality products. Case-in-point: the company that ultimately hired me was won over by the high-quality portfolio that Avocademy helped me produce. The position I applied for required 3-4 years of experience but they hired me because of my growth potential, despite only working in the field for 6 months. This is not an unusual experience for Avocademy students. Follow all of their advice and instructions and you'll be golden. The two weaknesses I experienced when I started this program have now been addressed, so I can't think of a reason why not to do this program.
STRENGTHES
+ Flexibility - most students are also working full-time.
+ Mentorship - you are never alone. Every step of your project is reviewed by mentors, and often the founder herself to ensure that you are on the right track. Mentors are kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.
+ Real-life clients - you also get to choose what projects you want to be a part of.
+ Community - despite being completely virtual, I felt great camaraderie with my fellow students because of the daily zoom calls for job hunters and the supportive Slack community. The job application process can be incredibly lonely, draining, and discouraging.
+ Responsiveness - Avocademy is always willing to listen to its students and dedicated to improving its courses based on student feedback. Every day they are researching industry trends, updating content, and trying to find new ways to support us.
WEAKNESSES (***which have now all been addressed as of June 2022!!!)
- Technical training - when I began CJ, there wasn't any content created in-house for building your technical skills (such as with Figma). This wasn't a huge problem for me as I found tons of other free resources on YouTube, but not all students took the initiative and struggled with some of their projects. My understanding is that Avocademy has since remedied this issue, and created several videos in addition to masterclass courses to help students hone their design, research, and project management skills.
- Screening of students - As Avocademy strives to be inclusive, their initial application/screening process for students was very lax. As a result, I encountered some students at CJ that were not as serious or motivated as the rest of us. Sometimes life happens and we aren't able to keep up with all of our commitments, but at a base level, to be successful in the UX field, attention to detail, the ability to learn on your own, and collaboration skills are absolutely critical. Avocademy now has a more intensive application process for its CJ program, but it is inevitable that you may encounter classmates who are difficult to work with. This is arguably a good learning experience as well.

My job was weighing down on my mental health, and I needed a change. I consider myself creative, empathetic, a problem solver, and a visual learner. After searching for the right career and deciding I wanted to enter the design field, the challenge was to find the right school. I landed on avocademy and gave it a chance. Avocademy's foundation course helped me set foot in the design world and opened endless opportunities for me. I learned all the technical, and soft skills required to become a UX/UI designer and applied them when working on my project throughout the course. I am glad I took the chance because I genuinely feel I found my passion and enjoy working too. The mentor's feedback on the project, resume, portfolio, guidance at every step, and networking are some of the main pros. Although, sometimes it took longer than usual to receive feedback.
