The bootcamp was great. I really enjoyed how the price point was good and that I learned pretty quickly the ins and outs of design. Also, it being self-paced allowed me to work when convenient. Learning by doing is much more practical than sitting in some lecture for hours anyway. I'm doing Jumpstart as of this review but that has been good so far as well. The only complaint I have is though the mentors were great and incredibly helpful, it was at times very frustrating getting your work reviewed by a different mentor each iteration. I had one person tell me to put one thing only to have the next person not even bother to look at what the other person before me said on my rubric leading to lots of confusion. I felt like there was no standardization when it came to reviewing work at times. Each mentor wanted something different at times and understandably so but I feel like there should be some checklist instead of it feeling like one person giving totally different advice than someone else before. Other than that, I do very much recommend this bootcampq as the pipeline goes from no experience to having a job in half a years time, which isn't bad. -

I really enjoyed my time in Career Jumpstart. I definitely feel like I developed a lot as a UX designer and got a good idea of what it is like to work as a UX designer. The fact that you work on real client projects is awesome, and I developed a great portfolio that helped me to get a job. I think the structure of the course is good. They do a lot to make sure you understand what is expected of you, and they also make sure you have the necessary skills before you start working on client projects. The mentors in CJ are wonderful, and they give great guidance on how to stand out to recruiters and write an impressive resume.
I would not have been able to get into this field if I hadn't signed up for Avocademy, so I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get into UX! -

This was a great bootcamp and I could not be happier with the result. I was way too exhausted physically and mentally from my job to be able to learn UX design on my own and it was incredibly helpful to have a curriculum laid out for me to follow. It was also great that everything I learned was directly applicable to real world scenarios and there was no fluff material. There were, however, many links to articles and resources with additional infromation and topics to learn if you were interested. -

This is a terrific program. For the cost, the value might be the best out there. I was able to schedule unlimited mentor calls and could reach out for feedback at any point during the bootcamp. There is also a great community, which is super helpful for networking and not feeling alone in the process.
In terms of the curriculum, I feel like I had a solid understanding of the general UX process after the program concluded. I feel much more confident understanding the research process and using tools like Figma. -

I recently completed the UX/UI Avocademy foundations course and would recommend it to anyone wanting to build their design tools or transition into the UX/UI field. We worked our way through a project that hit on the ins and outs of research and design with continuous help from mentors along the way. I am now enrolled in the Career Jumpstart program, and am hoping to transition from graphic design/fine arts to UX/UI by the summer with the Avocademy team's help. Would recommend and I think this program just as valuable as any bootcamp out there. -

The foundations course was overall a great experience. The mentors are really nice and encouraging and are in your corner. I loved how they give you more than just the answers to your questions, they provide extra tidbits of advice when it comes to the tech industry and best practices in designing. If I were to change one thing I would want more mentors to be available, its very common to schedule a mentor session 5-7 days out before, and its shows why they are booked so often! Be prepared to advocate for yourself and to do some self-learning along the way, sometimes Figma can be finicky but mentors are always there to help! Give yourself grace through this course especially if you're in a full time job like I was. -

The best hands on experience I could ask for!
I was lucky enough to join Avocademy's boot camp and learn about the UI/UX world. The mentoring helped me grow and gain the confidence to switch careers! I later joined their Career Jumpstart program, where I could work on real client projects. Doing this gave me the experience I needed to step into UX. I am happy that I found Avocademy because I can work in a field I love. -

Avocademy feels more like a community of supportive design mentors and colleagues than a bootcamp. Yes you have to work hard and fast and yes you have to have dedication to do well. But, I felt supported and encouraged the whole entire way. I had access to mentors to ask about the work of designers, design tips, and review of my designs throughout the course. The foundations program is a great way to see if you are a good fit for UX without having to commit to a lengthy and expensive bootcamp. -

I completed the Foundations Course and Career Jumpstart with Avocademy. The best part of the program is how accessible everyone is. There is unlimited mentorship and guidance throughout the entire process. The foundations course sets you up for a great basis for career jumpstart. I would highly recommend doing both and following their curriculum. I started the program in April 2022 and got a job December 2022. I was skeptical at first, but the process genuinely works and I couldn't be happier about such a big career switch. This program rocks and you'll be supported through the entire thing. -

Avocademy is a great way to quickly learn and gain design skills. There is a TON to learn about design and this course is structured in a way that the information is not overwhelming. You basically go through the design process as you are learning and create a project with it. There are plenty of resources provided for students to aid with their learning. Something unique about the program is the unlimited mentorship. However, I do suggest hiring mentors with teaching/mentorship experience, or providing a training course for them. Some are great, but some really do not know how to give effective and objective feedback.
My favorite part of Avocademy is their career jumpstart program. You get to work with a team of designers on projects for real clients and its a great learning experience. Mentors help you with resume, job applications, interview prep, and portfolio. Overall, it's a great atmosphere with a lot of support and motivation. I'm very glad I took the opportunity to learn through this program. I was able to transition for my previous career in a matter of months instead of graduate programs that take years. -

The Avocademy Foundations course was an amazing place for me to start. Coming from a healthcare background, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to learn how to work in a whole new industry but Avocademy has made it a piece of cake! The information provided was very digestible and super actionable. You have access to mentors every day of the week, which is such an incredible resource. The assignment revisions/approvals may take a bit of time depending on what it is. However, this can be a non-factor if you schedule 1-on-1s with a mentor in a timely manner, as they are able to revise/approve assignments for you on the spot. -

I loved it!
Honestly, Avocademy is exactly what I needed! The mentors are all hands on, its very structured and it really helped me to stay organized and learn in a controlled setting. I completed Foundations of Avocademy in July and jumped right into their CJ program. I enjoyed the curriculum and they did a great job of assigning you real life clients to add substance to your portfolio. The only struggle I really experienced was with team members sometimes not holding their own in the projects. They do a phenomenal job prepping you for job applications, interviews, and negotiation. I landed a job after 28 days of applying. Overall, I would 100% recommend this bootcamp. BUT you must put in the extra work yourself too. They give you the tools and you must put in the additional hard work to make yourself and your portfolio. stand out to companies hiring! -

Throughout Avocademy's Career Jumpstart program, I was offered a plethora of opportunities that aided me in landing my first job as a UX designer. I was able to work on real client projects in teams, which taught me a lot about how to collaborate and derive accessible design solutions for actual users. I was also offered unlimited mentorship, ranging from design challenge reviews to mock interview prep. The staff at Avocademy truly want you to succeed, be it in the Foundations course or Career Jumpstart. You will be guided through every step of the way. -

Avocademy foundations and Career Jumpstart has been life altering! I was extremely unhappy in my field and came across Avocademy. The bootcamp is extremely comprehensive with so much mentorship help from designers themselves. Once I graduated from the boot camp, I was able to join their agency to get real client experience and continually learn about UX Design. I received even more mentorship with how to work with clients and do design handoffs, resume writing help as well as job searching help. With all the experience I have gained, I was able to land a Senior UX role. Avocademy has been so pivotal in my life! -

I started taking Avocademy's UX/UI Foundations course at the end of 2021 as I was interested in changing careers into UX/UI without paying ridiculously high prices for a course. After I looked at other reviews and reached out to the founder, I thought it would be a good fit and it was! You're able to work at your own pace and you have unlimited access to mentors. By the end of your foundations course, you'll have a portfolio with your own case study. They also have another course that you can choose to join called Career Jumpstart after doing their foundations course where you work with real clients on real projects. While in the Career Jumpstart course, the team and mentors help you apply to jobs and give great advice and encouragement throughout the process. -

Avocademy has been a dream sent. It offered me the opportunity to learn more about UX/UI foundations before spending additional money on Career Jumpstart Program. By the of the Foundations part, I was so eagerly ready to start Career Jumpstart because my confidence grew and I believed that I could do it. I've researched lots of UX/UI Bootcamps and am glad that I chose this one. It pushes me to do more and exercise what I learned. Even though it is a self-paced course, it helped me identify if this career direction was truly what I wanted. My experience with Avocademy has been all positive! In the beginning, I was a little iffy because they are one of the newer UX design bootcamps but I'm so happy I chose do to their bootcamp. The course is broken up into parts that make it so easy to learn and you get to go on your own pace. The unlimited mentor calls is what really helped me. No matter what my schedule was I could always find a mentor to help me with coursework. I also love that the course works on creating your first case study which really helped me learn what UX/UI is all about. This was the best decision I have met yet and glad I invested in myself with this program. Highly recommend! -

I had an overall really great experience with Career Jumpstart. The main motivator behind why I went with Avocademy over other programs was the price. Typically when something is significantly cheaper, it shows. But not with this program. I was able to learn so much as a designer and land my dream role. It definitely wasn't easy, especially working full time. But I am happy to finally be here after so much hard work. I never felt lost as I always had knowledgeable mentors helping and guiding me. -

Looking back at my work, I can truly say that Avocademy has equipped me with strong design skills that will hopefully land me a job in the near future. The mentorship has been my favorite part of this bootcamp. Everyone truly has your best interest in mind and are available to talk about anything and everything regarding careers in UX design. -

As a whole, Avocademy is a a great if not the best way to switch careers considering the price, mentorship, and content/curriculum. I found the education covered everything one would need to know to enter this field of work successfully.
The only concern was deadlines sometimes as often they had to be pushed back due to the time it took to get a submission reviewed, but 1. I wasn't in rush, 2. it was never longer than a few business days, 3. there were no consequences for not meeting original deadlines as they are accommodating and understanding, so it wasn't really an issue. -

Wow! I expected to be write this review but just not as quick as I am! Let me back track...I originally found Avocademy via Youtube. I was learning what UX design was and if it was something I was interested in because I was making a huge career switch. I just graduated with my master's in 2020 and was now deciding to go another route come Sept. 2021...I ended up doing Avocademy's Foundations course (which can be a whole other review in itself) and to make that long story short, I was beyond impressed with the knowledge and skill I got out of the course. When starting Foundations my initial thought was to use the course to test the waters instead of paying the 10k-12k at another bootcamp for the same experience. What I got from that first part of the course was beyond my expectation. There wasn't too many reviews at the time so I did feel like I was take a risk but after meeting with Maca I just felt the genuineness associated with the company and after my experience I can truly say that you get a quality experience! But anyways, that was foundation. When moving onto Career Jumpstart (CJ), it was around Nov/Dec 2021. I knew I want to go start into CJ because I wanted to add more project into my portfolio, work with teams, and get extra help in making sure things can be at their best (my resume, my portfolio, etc.). I was in CJ from Nov/Dec 2021 to May 2022. Within that time frame I established a great resume that highlighted my experience, worked on 2 real client projects with other students (as a team) in order to create final designs that can be added to my portfolio (so I ended up have 3 projects minimum on my portfolio in total - 1 from foundations course, 2 from CJ). I also received support from mentors and peers! I also made amazing friends along the way! After finishing my client projects, writing up those case study and getting prepped from job search it was already March 2022. I applied to ALOT of jobs ( ~200 applications, MANY rejections, and like 4 company interested in moving forward with interviews). By end of April 2022/early May 2022, I accepted a job offer. So in less than a year (8 months since Foundations Course and 6 months since CJ) I was able to land a job as a UX Designer. I would be lying if I said there were shed tears along the way, I mean making a big career change is hard!! But I'd do it all over again because I've learned so much out of this program and have grow personally for myself and professionally as a now UX Designer. Even the job I've accepted the offer from said it themselves that they were impressed with my work in my portfolio! So I just wanted to share my experience, I remember when I was looking for reviews and couldn't find anything when I first started so I hope this helps anyone that is reading this! -

The Avocademy Foundations program is great for anyone wanting to learn the fundamentals of UX/UI designs. The course takes about 6-8 weeks to finish (don't worry they give you extra time if you need it) and every module is very informative. There are mentors throughout the course to guide you and you can also have 1 on 1 mentor sessions. I tried self learning prior to signing up for the course, but had difficultly figuring out what to learn first and how I should be setting up my portfolio. I decided to look for a bootcamp to help me get started and all the other bootcamps that I found were a bit out of my budget. I found Avocademy and was a bit hesitant since they were still new compared to the other bootcamps, but I'm glad I went with them. By the end of the course you'll have one project and your portfolio set up. If you're a new grad or someone looking to transition into UX/UI from another field this is a great course. -

Avocademy Foundations course was a great experience! The mentors were helpful throughout the program and you could schedule an appointment to have one on ones if you needed too. I thought the feedback I received during my module activities were fair and helpful. Sometimes getting activities passed through was a little slower than I hoped. However, I think with how they are growing it was to be expected, so it wasn't too big of a deal. I did the program while working full time during the day and I felt it was manageable to dedicate time to it. I'm now doing the Career Jumpstart Program offered through Avocademy as well. I felt like the information was valuable especially at the price it's offered. I would recommend the course to any newbie or even if you have a little bit of experience. -

The course is a decent value priced at $1500 and you can learn a lot, but not enough to score a good job unless you have previous design experience.
Most of the "mentors" are people without experience who just graduated from Avocademy and are on a job hunt.
The curriculum is 98% links from other FREE resources online + random Youtube videos.
It is a better value than some other $10000+ bootcamps but if you google "ux/ui" you will find the same links that are in the Avocademy curriculum for FREE!
There are plenty of free and paid mentorship platforms where at least you can learn from experienced UX designers and will cost you half the Avocademy price.
From my experience, getting a job without the Career Jumpstart (7% of 1yr salary) is hard and if you calculate 7% of the average UX pay in the US and add the $1500, it cost the same as bootcamp with legit mentors and curriculum.

As someone who comes from a science background, this course was very helpful and it allowed me to learn so many UX/UI techniques in just a few weeks. As first I was very hesitant to start this course due to my lack of knowledge surrounding design but I was very satisfied with my experience. I recommend this course to anyone who is thinking of making a career change into design!
