SheCodes Basics Reviews

I stumbled upon the SheCodes workshops by accident, but it feels like it was the perfect opportunity at just the right time. I tentatively registered for the free class but was hopeful. I had no previous experience coding, and frankly, no clue what coding entailed. But after the free class, I immediately signed up for the first SheCodes Workshop. Between the lessons, community chat, and encouragement from Matt to do more research on the material we were learning- I was hooked! Coding never seemed accessible and so I never knew I would hold any interest in it. SheCodes took the intimidation, self-doubt, and mystery away. For the first time in quite a while, I'm excited to learn again and feel confident that SheCodes will help me develop new skills. I'm proud and excited to say that I am enrolling in the SheCodes Plus React workshop to continue my training!!

I've been trying to learn coding since I was 11, when I was copy pasting basic html snippets to change my Neopets shop background 😂I've never really been successful, until now.Every time I have tried to take a web development course the instructions have always seemed abstract and disjointed. This course has by far had the simplest break down of how each language actually works and how they all are used together.I've learned more HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in 2 weeks than I have in 18 years. Now onto the second workshop! Thanks Matt Delac and SheCodes. 

Being a medical student, juggling three jobs, course work and medical placement; I didn't think it was even remotely possible to pick up a new skill like coding! I always thought it would be wayy too difficult and I wouldn't find the time but this course made it so straight forward to build a foundation. I am so happy now as I will be able to explore a whole new world of ideas and innovations and be able to know the basic working of them. Can't wait to see what the future holds, maybe build a website or even an app?! Who knows

I have truly enjoyed the SheCodes community, workshop, and assignments. Each week I've been gaining more and more confidence. Being able to see the results of my work was inspiring and motivating to learn more and explore the world of coding. When I started working in the IT industry, I didn't feel like I belonged there. “I loved the course! I want to take another! I was very impressed with this course because I don't like to take courses on the internet, and I saw the ad, it caught my attention and I signed up, but I didn't know what to expect. I started the three week course, and I was always very attentive with the videos and exercises and Matt explains them very well step by step so you don't get lost and he can take the course with ease. The platform that handles "slack" helped me a lot when I didn't understand something, I put it there and they solved it for me. The course is highly recommended.” 

I am absolutely blown away! I honestly wasn't expecting an online workshop to be such a good learning experience. Matt is an incredible instructor and he made the lessons really fun. Every concept is broken down into bite sized portions, and while his lessons are clear, he also doesn't spoon feed you. You get to learn through hands on practice and trial and error, which really helped me understand the "why" behind the concepts. This course was challenging while still being totally doable. I was able to ask a ton of questions and get quick and helpful answers from both the other students and some awesome professional coders. Overall it's a 10/10! Thank you, SheCodes Team! 🥳

 “This was by far the best coding introduction. I wanted to start programming for a long time not necessary for web design, but for other programming languages that are more used in my field. Nevertheless the course was so intense that it kept me awake for some nights and was proud for each little step I got further. the structure was clear, easy to understand and I really enjoyed my final project. Both thumbs up, totally worth it.”
