SheCodes Basics Reviews

As a professional Marketer, I have always been fascinated with website building and design. Thanks to SheCodes, I discovered a fun and accessible way to learn a new valuable skill. What I appreciate about SheCodes is how user-friendly the platform is. The lessons and challenges are designed in a way that gradually built up my coding skills, so I never feel like I'm in over my head. Plus, the community of fellow students and mentors is always there to lend a helping hand and offer support. What sets SheCodes apart is the practical approach they take to teaching coding. They focus not only on theory but on real-world applications. As a result, I have acquired the skills and confidence I need to succeed in the marketing and tech industries.

I never thought I would be able to write a line of code and make it functional, but SheCodes made me believe. I loved the experience, the videos in each lesson are very enlightening and the practice exercises are great. They are not exact copies of the examples given in the lessons, which makes it all the better to practice. Step by step, Matt makes you able to build something. I can't wait to continue and sign up for a new workshop!

I HIGHLY recommend SheCodes. I took the free workshop and immediately wanted to take the 3-week course. I come from a teaching background so I was very nervous, yet excited to learn coding. SheCodes was a lot of fun and not as intimidating to learn than I thought. Matt explains things explicitly and in digestible chunks where you can apply your knowledge in challenges. When submitting the challenges and homework, I received prompt and helpful feedback. I am excited to learn more about programming and open to new career possibilities. I have tried other coding classes in the past and SheCodes was the only one that helped me truly understand JS. Matt, the instructor does an excellent job at organizing the weekly lessons and assignments in a way that really speaks to my style of learning. I was able to follow along and loved that after you submitted your challenge, he would go over the solution so you can understand where you may have went wrong and how to fix it. I wanted to see if coding could be for me and I loved the creativity and organization that goes into it and I'm so glad I took SheCodes Basics. I plan to enroll in SheCodes Max soon!

The lessons are bite-sized, easy to follow and digest, and work well for busy people. I will rate this five out of five! For me, it is perfect as it is :)I love how the video lessons demonstrate the instructor’s expertise, and understanding of the students’ possible dilemmas. This virtual empathy helps in alleviating the learners’ worries, transforming them into motivations to work through the assignments and the course project. 

This workshop really helped me learn not only the basics but also the capabilities you can achieve. I loved being able to be creative and challenge myself to produce what I set out in my wireframe. I would recommend this course to anyone because it allowed me to learn at my pace, yet feel challenged and supported at the same time. I will continue my dev educational journey in the next SheCodes workshop.  

When I was at university I enrolled into a Computer Science course to complete my studies. It was an horrible, extremely confusing, experience. We were left alone trying to cope with things that were never explained to us. I somewhat managed to pass, but whenever I would hear the word "coding" I would just label it as something I couldn't do. I decided to give coding a second chance when I saw SheCodes and I'm extremely glad I did! Sometimes, all you need is a good teacher and dedication 🌞
