University of Washington (UW) offers a 12-week, full-time, online web development course. The full stack curriculum includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Express.js, Node.js, databases, MongoDB, MySQL, and Git. The coding boot camp is taught by experienced instructors, and there is extensive student support.
Applicants do not need programming experience to enroll, but once admitted, all students will complete a pre-course tutorial. UW Boot Camps are designed for working professionals and students who are actively pursuing a career change or advancement or looking to gain a new skill set.
Throughout the boot camps, students have access to career planning services, portfolio and resume reviews, technical interview training, virtual tech panels, 1:1 coaching, and more. Graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion from UW Professional & Continuing Education and will have a portfolio of projects demonstrating a working knowledge of web development or financial technology.

The program started out poorly with the initial instructor not seeming to care much about the program. That instructor was then replaced by a couple subs and eventually someone named Tom McCarthy. Tom was one of the best instructors I've ever had - he cared about each student, was extremely knowledgeable, and provided extra resources outside of the course material to help us. Then, after the program, Jen Alexander our course coordinator sent out helpful emails related to potential jobs. But the course is very stressful, with only 6 months and 3 lessons every week, you need to put in a lot more time to study by yourself, and especially in the beginning, it is really hard to follow up.

The instructional team was very supportive and always made themselves available (even outside of class hours) to help answer any questions or help out when needed. Especially during project weeks! The course is very grueling but it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The pace of the class is non-stop and found it was so important to keep up with the homework on a weekly basis as you may find yourself feeling left behind as the course progresses. I found that having a weekly tutoring session on top of attending the pre-class/post-class hours was the most beneficial way to find solutions or get un-stuck on whatever issue I was having.
I am so grateful for the instructional team and the time they put into helping everyone understand the concepts and giving us the the best chance to succeed. The assignments and projects allowed a shared learning experience with a collaborative and competitive cohort. During the course, I could genuinely feel whether web development was something I could continue to learn. The instruction of the course is perfectly paced, and I thought that I eagerly needed to improve my comprehension to keep up. Had a super fun experience and lucky to have been in this cohort with John Young as the instructor, and then Ben, Lynna, (+ other TAs who helped join in during projects) because they were super helpful and supportive!
The atmosphere and learning environment was comfortable and friendly, even with random breakout groups for activities, we were all able to learn even with our different skill levels. Loved using the bootcampspot site, easy to use and understand. All the intros for how things worked were helpful. You learn not just the code but the associated coding infrastructure that I found super helpful (git, mongo, heroku, etc). I got more practical experience in the course than independent studying from a book. I feel competent enough to continue practicing and studying code and actually building apps in a way independent study did not - so it was worth the time/money/blood/sweat/tears (there will be actual tears).
