Amazing experience!
Lessons are taught so well! You are provided with most of the knowledge needed to complete the assignments but, not all. You are forced to use Google to search for the missing requirements to complete the homework, which really teaches you how to find the info you need, like you will be doing in real life. Really enjoyed the workshop, I will definitely be continuing with more lessons. -

Amazing coding workshop!
I am a Designer and a Luxury Marketer and I had always wanted to develop my coding skills to the next level, but I always postponed it because I thought it was very complicated and hard to understand until I got to learn from Matt! He explains in a very smooth and easy way for you to completely understand and his team is always there for your questions. This workshop is exactly what I was looking for, it gives you the ability to apply and create while you are learning and that is what helps you to make the most out of this course. I am now excited to continue with the next workshops to become a front- end developer. -

I can't believe how easy it was to learn! I played around with HTML back in middle school and early high school so the HTML part of the course was like a nice refresher. CSS was super fun since you get to start the designing part of the coding. Then came JavaScript. It was a challenge but still super fun! I can't wait to move on to the next course to expand me knowledge! If you are considering joining, do it! You will not regret it! -

SheCodes Workshop was easy to follow, and so engaging!
The creator is the instructor, and not only teaches to you the basics, but he shares with you all the tips to make your code as detailed as possible and readable to other developers.
The homework ensures you practice what you've learned after the lessons and ,if you have any doubts, the assistants are available via Slack, which I think is the most powerful tool for communication nowadays.
Being a mom with a full time job didn't make it easy to start, and I was unable to find a course with deadlines I could follow with my agenda.
The price is very good, and they give you the chance to pay in instalments if you prefer. They can offer a discount if you are student or unemployed too.
I'm so grateful Social Media led me to SheCodes, this is a perfect fit! I’m starting the second week of SheCodes Plus and couldn’t be happier. -

This is a great first step in understanding how to code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript using VS Code. While working, I found this model of teaching to be perfect for me as I could fit the lessons and homework around my schedule. There is a range of easy to complicated prompts, which help you build ideas one step at a time. There are tons of lessons for each week so they do not skimp in touching base on aspects of coding. Matt also shows you valuable tricks on how to use the internet to answer your questions as well as offer insights into how current coders work, which strengthened my confidence. You won't regret it. -

Matt provides easy to follow, step-by-step video lessons on learning code, always paired with written code and other resources to supplement the videos (links, examples, etc.). I found the homework to be an extra challenge beyond the lesson content! Which is exactly what I want out of this course--to be challenged to use the newly learned material independently. I also also appreciate the weekl homework as it keeps me accountable for practicing and building code often. Help is always available, of course--I personally found the slack community to be VERY helpful when I got caught on homework. Plus, there are solution videos after every lesson and homework assignment. All in all, I feel like my understanding of code has grown substantially after taking this course. I look forward to continuing Matt's advanced courses! Thank you everyone! -

I've wanted to learn coding for a while but, when working a full-time job, it can be tricky to find a course that offers a flexible timetable, and that's also affordable. I've really appreciated that it's possible to choose the 3-weeks workshop before eventually continuing with the more advanced courses. It's a great introduction, and allows you to see if you're happy with what you learn. I had a lot of fun working on my first project, and cannot wait to enroll on the longer workshop. -

Great course!
I am a QA and Tester. I have been curious about coding always but never had the motivation to do so, until I cam across SheCodes on my Instagram feeds. I must say I have enjoyed the 3 weeks workshops, challenges and homework. The final project was a great way to bring all the learning into practice and I am feeling more confident now in terms of coding and understanding code. -

First, I would like to say that I have no coding experience whatsoever. I just graduated from college in May with a Kinesiology/Physical Education degree. My intention was to coach basketball at a University, or the public school system by the time August came. Second, while I was "sheltered in" due to COVID-19, I began to think about the future and what skill I needed to learn to keep myself valuable in the marketplace. Thanks to YouTube's algorithms that led me to a black woman who is a software engineer, and research about how the tech field will experience a 28% growth between the years 2018-2028, I decided that coding was it. I searched the net, came across SheCodes, and thought "Go for it". Lastly, for me, this journey into the unknown has been exciting, frustrating, challenging, and conquering. I am learning so much and seeing it manifest before my eyes. I look forward to continuing on to SheCodesPlus and React. -

Excellent course for beginners!!! I had many preconceived notions about coding: 1) that it's mostly for men, 2) that it's hard, 3) that it takes a long time to learn. SheCodes completely shattered these ideas and gave me a newfound confidence in my computer skills. Matt's tutorials are easy to follow and the online course allows me to learn at my own pace. Now when people ask about me: "Can she code?", the answer is: "Yeah, She Codes. -

I was certain this course would be of excellent standard after attending the "Free Coding Class" by Matt. He has a very simple way of teaching code that is easy to understand for all. It amazes me how much I have learnt in only 3 weeks and look forward to continuing this journey with the more advanced classes. The most enjoyable part for me was working on my final project - you learn so much more from applying what you have learnt in the context of a subject you are passionate about! The course is worth every penny. -

The SheCodes workshop is a great introduction to coding, learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript in an interactive, engaging and supportive way. I would highly recommend the workshop to anyone, especially if you are someone like me, who needs that little extra motivation provided by the weekly assignments. The task based teaching is great, allowing you to test your new skills as you go, and makes the experience of coding a joy to learn. I had touched upon coding as an undergraduate in university and been put off by poor teaching and unfriendly environments, convincing myself it wasn't for me. With SheCodes, I have had the complete opposite experience and am looking forward to continuing my coding journey and seeing where it can take me in the tech world! -

heard about coding for a while now, but it always seemed intimidating. Thanks to SheCodes I managed to surpass my expectations, and create this project. This worksop has given me valuable skills in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript ES6 (with the help of CodePen and Visual Studio Code) that I strongly believe anyone should have in this day and age. You will never feel lost or stuck, as the SheCodes team and the other students are there for you at any point. The classes are well structured, and you can take them in your own time. Thanks to Matt and his workshops I have discovered this new passion of mine. Next for me is to learn more and create a well developed portfolio to show off! -

Other courses I tried either went to slow so I got bored or went to fast so I got frustrated. The lessons on SheCodes are taught at the perfect pace and are extremely engaging. It also really helps to have the Slack rooms available to ask for more information or help if needed. I'm proud of the basic coding skills I've learned in the past three weeks and I'm eager to learn more! -

Ever since I took an introduction to programming course in high school, I was always intimidated by coding. I didn't understand how or why people enjoyed spending hours at a computer. The words they were writing did not make sense to me (and that black screen with colored words = frightening!).
However, deep down inside I've always wanted to learn how to code. It's such a useful skill to know! SheCodes gave me the confidence I needed to learn about coding! Most lessons are followed by a challenge, and at the end of the week you complete a homework assignment. Matt makes everything understandable.
If you have questions, João, Lexi and other SheCodes coders can be reached on the Slack channel. I also love that Lexi follows up with each coder each week! I am hesitant about self-paced courses, but Lexi really helps to keep you accountable.
I now understand how coders can spend hours at their computers--they are doing something that they love! This is a course for all ages. I highly recommend! At the end, you'll get a certificate that you can post on our LinkedIn website. What are you waiting for? Sign up! :) -

I've always wanted to learn code so when I found out about SheCodes I decided to dive into it with their course and I can honestly say it was. a great decision (I just graduated from the introductory course and am continuing onto the plus course). One of the things I appreciated was their level of flexibility so I didn't have to worry about not having enough time for my school work. The lessons are also really well thought out and their staff are all patient and helpful :)
