Northcoders offers full-time, 14-week, full-stack JavaScript coding bootcamps in Manchester and Leeds, England as well as online. Northcoders aims to provide an exciting, up-to-date curriculum that teaches the skills that employers really want and need. Over the course of the bootcamp, Northcoders helps students acquire and develop skills needed to excel as software developers. Students will spend time in live lectures and sprint-based coding projects, focusing on JavaScript. Successful graduates should expect to learn design patterns, algorithms, and data structures along with related skills like agile, version control, and pair programming. Students at Northcoders will be able to work in teams, solve problems, and think clearly with the skill sets to be able to learn additional technologies on their own.
Northcoders applicants are not required to have any prior knowledge or experience with coding. Northcoders will help absolute beginners to get started as well as helping hobbyists and amateurs to further their knowledge. To apply, applicants should fill in a form, complete some basic preparation materials, and come to an informal Entry Challenge.
Northcoders prepares students for every stage of the job interview and hiring process. A dedicated team provides one-on-one coaching sessions, helps with creating a CV that will get students noticed, and continued support after graduation, including setting up interviews with students' choices of companies across the North.

- Journey to success- 1/18/2021Niko • Software developer • Graduate • Course: The Developer Pathway: Leeds • Campus: Leeds • Verified via LinkedInAt 28 deciding to change careers can be a tricky business but I could not be happier with my decision. The course was quite challenging at times but I was a able to land my first developer role before I even graduated! The tutors are amazing and always there to help and the careers department is amazing and helped me a lot with great feedback about my cv and job applications.
- Northcoders review- 7/3/2020Alex • Graduate • Course: The Developer Pathway: Manchester • Campus: Manchester • Verified via LinkedInTeaching is amazing, I felt so prepared and ready for any techincal test. However, the job assistance given after is honestly embarrassing. They seem to give no care once they've got your money and you feel isolated and left to your own devices. They HAD a decent amount of companies willing to hire from northcoders but as they expanded they didnt expand their job network and so many of us were left unemployed and ignored from their 'job advisors'. They provided next to no help with interview practice and advice and simply assisted with a first draft CV. The price has gone up since I left and honestly I wouid look elesewhere to get in the industry through either a degree or apprenticeship.

Title: Head of CareersFriday, Jul 17 2020Hi Alex, thank you so much for sharing your feedback. It’s hard to hear your feedback that you felt the support we gave you to help you find work simply didn’t live up to your expectations – we were really delighted when you were made your job offers, even though it was a shame the one you chose didn’t work out at the time. As we’re sure you understand, it isn’t fair to our graduates looking for their first role to continue to set up further interviews for people going into their second roles, so this is part of our policy. And you’re right, it has certainly been a challenging couple of months. There weren’t enough vacancies for every graduate to find work as fast as usual during COVID-19 and we acknowledge that our Careers Team were stretched. In response, we’ve repurposed our team members to focus on finding jobs, we’re creating a brand new library of resources to recent Northcoders Graduates do everything from build their personal brand to excelling at behavioural interviews, we’re putting in place systems to help you share their coding projects with businesses who may be hiring – to name a few. Simply put, nothing is a greater priority for us right now.We do feel that after we graduated that we did every thing we could to provide you with all of the career support you needed, from extra 1-2-1 sessions we arranged for you with our Careers Mentors, to helping you with those drafts of your CV, to the personal coaching and mentoring sessions we provided before your interviews. Along with the the support we provided in the dozens of job applications you made through Northcoders and those that you made directly on your own. However, it looks like we were off the pulse of how you were really feeling, and we know finding work can be overwhelming, so we are sorry. We are grateful for your feedback and sorry that our support fell short of your expectations. The good news is that we are starting to see improvements in the job market and we hope we can help you make the most of these new opportunities.
- An incredible course that will change your life!- 9/14/2017Rohan Hadnum • Junior Developer • Graduate • Course: The Developer Pathway: Manchester • Campus: Manchester • Verified via GitHub
I was on the third cohort for northcoders and I graduated at the start of this year. The course itself is really fun and you will learn alot due to it being so intense and you meet some amazing people in the process! I was the youngest graduate at the time and I now work for a finance company in Manchester City Centre as a Junior Developer, they are really helpful not only on the course but after as well as they help you improve your CV, general skills and make you more employable to companies. If you enjoy coding and want to persue a career in tech then I definitely recommend this course!

I was on the very first cohort back in April 2016. The course is intense, but incredibly well designed and exciting and left me feeling like I'd learned more than I had in 3 years of uni. I am still good friends with many people from the first cohort - all those I have kept in touch with are in work as software developers and loving life. The specific technologies you learn are very relevant but part of the real value for me was that I felt like I 'learned how to learn'. You leave the course being confident to pick up any new technology you need in the future which is the most valuable skill you can get. Thoroughly recommend if you want to get into a career in tech.
- Highly recommended!- 7/30/2019Kelly • Graduate • Course: The Developer Pathway: Manchester • Campus: Manchester
The course itself is really intense and challenging, but you learn so much in a short space of time! The tutors are fantastic, and the curriculum is constantly being reviewed and brought up to date. In the last few weeks you are put in touch with the careers team who give you some insight into what it is like to work in the industry and given advice on CV's, interviews and generally how to put your best foot forward. I had an interview lined up through Northcoders before I graduated and had accepted an offer within a week. It was really hard work, but I can't recommend it highly enough.
- Northcoders is genuinely special.- 9/13/2017Ruth • Engineer • Graduate • Course: The Developer Pathway: Manchester • Campus: Manchester
I consider myself incredibly lucky to call myself a Northcoder. Even when I was 3 weeks into the course, I knew it was the best choice I'd ever made, and I felt they deserved every penny I was paying - even then. I've been fortunate to make friends for life and am part of a very, very special Northern community in its own right - the Northcoders Community. You couldn't hope to find better support or more knowledgeable tutors.
