The MIT Data Science and Machine Learning Course: from September 2024 to January 2025
 It is exceptionally well-structured to ensure students gain a deep understanding of the subject. The course includes numerous lectures, but they are carefully organized to be easily digestible.It covers a comprehensive range of topics, starting from basic statistics and fundamental machine learning models to deep learning, ChatGPT, and generative AI, offering a thorough overview of key areas in modern data science. I truly enjoyed this course because it gave me a clear, holistic understanding of data science as a field. While grasping the fundamental theories and core principles can be challenging, I found that going through these basics is essential for achieving a deeper comprehension of modern data science practices. Among all the topics, I found deep learning the most fascinating. There is so much more to explore in this rapidly evolving field. For anyone looking to master data science, I highly recommend this course! Read less

Enrolling in the MIT PE Applied Data Science program has been one of the most enlightening and inspiring experiences of my life. Balancing a full-time job while dedicating my evenings and off-days to studying and mentoring sessions was undoubtedly challenging, but the rewards have been immense.

I worked closely with coordinator Gautam from Great Learning and he has been a super star. Great character and great execution. I have worked with their rival company Emeritus also from India I think. Great Learning overall has a better feel. More warm, generally considerate and they hire nicer workers. I recently completed the MIT Applied Data Science course; overall, it was an incredible experience! The classes were thorough, covering a wide range of relevant topics in data science. The instructors were knowledgeable and engaging, making complex concepts easier to understand. Although some of the material was challenging, it pushed me to grow and helped me expand my analytical skills significantly.The program administration and our program manager were outstanding—always supportive and responsive, helping us stay on track and making the experience smooth from start to finish. I’ve been taking the online machine learning course by MIT, and it’s been an incredibly structured and rewarding experience. The course is well-organized, making complex concepts easier to grasp. Great learning is very flexible as most students are working full time which allows you the time to complete the program. They also allow you access to materials for 2-3 years. I certainly learned a lot and what’s exciting is that after the program you can still work with your chosen career counselor if your someone who is transitioning into this space like myself. Great platform support as online learning, live mentored session help to address any questions and go over the case study together. The content is very structured combined with real industrial case study to practice the theory. Good program overall. However, really need least 10 hours per week commitment.  Read less

This course is finely curated by MIT professors, and the way the mentors delivered it was well taken by all students and made the course very interactive. The case studies delved into Hypothesis Testing, Recommendation Systems, Networking and Graphical Models were the best part of understanding how the classical methods are applied using modern techniques.
Assignments, Q&A sessions and test projects are the best of this course to keep you aligned with the progress.
I certainly recommend this course for anyone interested in embracing these subjects which are applied in most fields in today's world. Read less

The MIT Professional Education's Applied Data Science Program proved to be an intensive yet fulfilling journey. The structured curriculum, encompassing Python, statistics, machine learning, and deep learning, provided a robust foundation and advanced knowledge in key areas of data science. Janvi, our Program Manager, was particularly instrumental in guiding us through the program, offering personalized feedback and support that greatly enhanced the learning experience. The Capstone project was a highlight, allowing for practical application of the concepts learned. While the pace was challenging, the educational payoff was significant. The only drawback was the compact schedule, which demanded a high level of commitment and time management to keep up with the rigorous coursework and project deadlines. Read less

Overall, this was a great program. They were very attentive and understanding of how to make the student experiences holistic. The course provided an excellent introduction to AIML and covered essential core concepts. Coverage around use of available no-code tools to implement such concepts augmented the learning experience. A variety of course materials were provided, which are all very helpful. At time of registration, the impression shared was that the course time is 10-12 hrs. / week. However, I felt more time commitment was needed.  It would be beneficial to allow students to download the video sessions as there're valuable explanations that are not all obtained via the slides and other course material. It is important to set expectations with students that topic specific course material should be reviewed prior to the mentor sessions so that the mentor sessions can be more productive with better discussions.

I decided to upskill by taking a class in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The class offered by Great Learning through MIT provided exactly what I was looking for in a class had the depth and content that I was looking for. The curriculum in this class covers the underlying data science, introduces students to appropriate tools and guides participants on how to apply these concepts in a business setting. The content, platform and delivery are very well structured, and the instructors are quite knowledgeable. The learning environment in Saturday sessions is quite collaborative and provides a good forum for asking questions. I would highly recommend this course and Great Learning to anyone.  Read less

This is an excellent program featuring live virtual sessions with MIT faulty members, weekend mentor sessions, and outstanding support from program managers.  The course materials are dense but super helpful.  There are weekly assignments and checkpoints to help students stay on track.  I highly recommend it. Enrolling in the Applied Data Science Program at MIT was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The curriculum was well-structured, and the instructors had an exceptional knack for breaking down complex concepts into understandable chunks. What truly amazed me was the emphasis on real-world projects. These projects not only allowed us to apply our learning but also exposed us to the challenges one might face in a professional setting. Shikha, our Project Manager, was an integral part of this journey. Her unwavering support, organization, and ability to keep our team on track were instrumental in the success of our project.
