Great Learning

I started the Great Learning AIML course with no prior experience with python and limited experience with PL-SQL and SQL.  Since the course uses python for all of the machine learning topics I did not want to be burdened with learning to program at the same time I was learning complex modeling algorithms.  So I signed up for the python boot camp and it was fantastic.  My SQL experience does not translate very well but understanding programming logic was helpful and the methods used for teaching python made the material very easy to understand.  Lots of hands on practice and quizzes to test knowledge but it worked very well to get me where I needed to be so I could concentrate on learning ML instead of worried about the programming. Awesome beginner course for those wanting to get a fundamental understanding of Machine Learning and the techniques used to gather data, processing data, visualize data and drawing insights from said data processing. The building models to automate the process.

The video lectures and supporting team has been amazing. The weekly mentored session have aided me greatly in getting a better understanding of what is expected of me in the industry and how what I am learning applies in the working world.

The mentors are patient and never leave a question unanswered.

I am doing PGP Course from Great Learning and UT Austin. The curriculum is very well designed. The Faculty is world class and they bring all their experience to the class. You don't need to be a Math Whiz to do this course.  Explanations of  concepts are detailed and cover wide range of topics and real time scenarios.

Support from Program manager is exceptional.  Work professionals need flexibility in schedule and the course offers that. Program manager ensures you are following the schedule and that you are getting all the support you need. The course covers a comprehensive number of topics which quickly bring you up to speed and teach you the skills to understand and delve deeper into the world of data science. The teaching is delivered in a variety of ways with a mix of videos, live lectures and tutorials. 
I undertook this course whilst working full-time as manager of a team of analysts in the midst of developing a new automation solution for our company which definitely increased the pressure, however the support from staff such as my program manager monideepa was excellent and helped me juggle and deliver for both priorities.  
I personally preferred the recorded learning sessions more than the love lectures as I was able to complete them at my own pace and review the content multiple times for clarity as needed, the live lectures whilst excellently delivered by the MIT teaching staff, reminded me of my time at university in that we would often deviate from the prepared lecture and go down rabbit holes based on questions raised by fellow students which whilst informative for some of the more complicated aspects of some topics I would probably have preferred the majority of the content to be prerecorded with perhaps one live lecture a week. 
The tutorials were fantastic and really helped flesh out the weeks learning ahead of the courses exam or project due date. 
The projects were time-consuming but a lot of fun and having the option of either a full code or low code method was massively beneficial for someone like me who, whilst picking up python quickly (and loving it), would have been intimidated and a little out of my depth completing the full code methods. 
All in all I think the course is excellent and is a fantastic way to get a broad understanding of key data science practises and processes whilst upskilling quickly. Ultimately leaving you at the end in a strong position to delve deeper into any of the subjects as well as go on and integrate the new found knowledge into existing roles &/or the experience to take on new ones.

The course is excellent; it spanned 12 weeks. We learned complex concepts from actual MIT professors, who dedicated a lot of time to clearing doubts and helping us understand the curriculum.


Great Learning is an easy-to-use platform; everything you need is readily available on the dashboard. The lectures are well-organized, and the courses and content are straightforward. The examples provided are easy to understand, and the content is divided into well-structured sections for ease of use. The tests are also appropriately challenging, which is perfect for enhancing your learning and understanding.


Moreover, the course features dedicated program managers with whom you can communicate via phone, Slack, or the Great Learning platform. They are always available to help address any doubts you may have.


The Great Learning platform also offers mentored learning. The mentors are professionals actively practicing what we are learning in real-life scenarios. They provide real-world examples and help recap what the MIT professors taught. This is an excellent way to summarize and revise the course content from the entire week.


On average, you are expected to spend 2-3 hours a day on coursework. Overall, this platform and course are definitely recommendable. I highly recommend it. Read less
