As a Senior Software Engineer, I learned a lot, beyond my expectations, on Theoretical and Technical aspects of probabilities and how to apply that knowledge using Python to practical issues and deriving useful conclusions and recommendations.

I recently completed the MIT Applied AI and Data Science Professional Certificate Program and I cannot be more satisfied with the overall experience. As a postdoctoral researcher in cognitive neuroscience, I was searching for a short, applied AI training program that could widen my understanding of the technology and give me a certified credential to support a possible job search outside of academia. From the start, I noticed that the advert for this program was much more organized and detailed than other equivalent offers. It covered a great range of novel topics for me—from machine learning to deep learning and generative AI—in a reasonable number of weeks and with a schedule I could actually combine with my full-time job. It was a huge challenge to dedicate my weekends and early mornings to the coursework, but it was absolutely achievable, and I’m so glad I made the decision.
First and foremost, the program was so well-organized and supported by mentors, professors, and the IT team that the learning felt much "lighter" than it could have been. The course platform is excellent and carefully designed; it was easy to find the curated materials, use the AI-assisted training tools, and complete the assessments. The teaching staff were also outstanding: very well-prepared, kind, and attentive when replying to questions with real precision. All these factors made the learning process truly enjoyable, and I felt consistently motivated to give my best when solving problems and final projects. By the end of the journey, I realized just how much I had grown; I’ve gained a solid understanding of business problems, acquired the specific jargon of the field, and got plenty of hands-on practice with Python packages and model evaluation. The Great Learning class i took was Designing Advanced Generative AI Workflows. In a word - it was awesome. I knew nothing about AI before the class and now, I'm an expert. I understand acronyms and terms and best of all, I understand where to apply my new-found knowledge. The staff and instructors at Great Learning won't let you fail. The support system is really good. They provide Internal resources that support learning. The instructors are excellent. They make sure you understand the content. The pace is perfect for learning. Again, failing isn't an option. You give the class your effort and they take it the rest of the way by providing support at every turn. The weekly quizzes keep you on track and the video instructors are great. Last but not least - the Program Manager is the most supportive person I've ever met. It's like you are her only student. Attending the MIT’s PE course in Applied AI and Data Science administered by Great Learning was a highly rewarding experience and one that I would strongly recommend to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of modern AI technologies.

I had such a great time with this course. Given the current AI inflection point where society seems to be I simply had to understand advanced Data Science and AI in detail. I thought I understood, in general, these topics. I was wrong. This course provided a news lens by which I can understand my field, data science, and AI in my day to day.
Like any good program it was designed to allow you to take as much out of it as you were willing to put in. It was boarder-line to complex, by design, the entire time because it encouraged me to be curious enough to think and puzzle over the small things. Working with my colleagues in the cohort it was clear that each of us felt that same way. It was also clear that each of us was taking from the course work.
Each of the course sections tackles a different aspect of coding, statistics, data science, machine learning, and ultimately generative AI. Depending on where you start, the curriculum can be like drinking from a fire hose from course topic to course topic. The deep learning course, for me, was where I hit some topics that were completely foreign and fascinating. Others topics, before and after, weren't as demanding (for me). The faculty was amazing. That MIT professors really know not only their field but how to educate. It was a joy listening to them all.
I had no coding experience and took on the "full code" approach to the assignments. It took effort, but I feel like the program equipped me with what I needed to accel. The quizzes, assignments, and even the final projects were fun and engaging.
One note, I have a solid background in statistics but had no background at all in matrix algebra. The course attempts to teach both topics, but the linear algebra (super important in this field) was something I had to really focus on throughout the program.Customer support of Great Learning

The pacing is well-designed; despite having a full-time job, I was able to keep up with lectures, review materials, and complete quizzes and assignments without feeling overwhelmed.
During the program, I faced a few personal situations that affected my schedule, but the program management was very supportive and flexible, extending deadlines for quizzes and even project submissions.
The instructors were knowledgeable and effective overall. The live sessions were engaging and interactive, and instructors made an effort to keep the class dynamic while also sharing practical insights and real-world experiences, which added significant value.
One challenge was that different accents among instructors occasionally made some parts harder to follow. I usually watched videos at 1.5x–2x speed, and switching back to normal speed helped, though it was slightly inconvenient at times.
Additionally, the assessments could be more engaging with a bit more creativity, which would make the overall learning experience even more compelling.

I am a researcher in Education specializing in qualitative video data analysis, with particular interest in methodological innovation and the integration of AI into research practices. I had a genuinely very positive experience with this MIT No Code AI & Machine Learning Program.
What I particularly appreciated was the way the program brought together a strong academic perspectives and managerial expertise. This combination created a rich and balanced environment, where conceptual understanding was not treated in isolation but continuously connected to real professional practices.
For me, this was especially valuable. The course did not simply introduce tools, nor did it stay at a purely theoretical level. It articulated both. Concepts were grounded, discussed, and then translated into hands-on applications in a way that made sense from a research as well as a professional standpoint.
This kind of alignment between theory, methodology, and practice is not always easy to achieve, and I found it particularly well executed here.

Because of an ongoing medical condition, I had to withdraw from the course on one occasion. Each time, the Great Learning team met me with empathy, understanding, and flexibility. They allowed me to rejoin the course without friction. That kind of human-first approach — treating learners as people, not just students — is rare. I deeply appreciate how they supported me through difficult times without judgment or pressure.

I enrolled in the Walsh Program at this institute with high expectations, but my overall experience has been mixed. There are several important points that prospective students should carefully consider before applying.
The program is significantly more expensive than other comparable programs in the industry. Unfortunately, the quality of the content and learning resources does not justify the premium pricing. In fact, similar educational material can be found elsewhere at a much lower cost, which makes the overall value proposition questionable.
Additionally, there is little to no placement support provided by the institution. Students are largely on their own when it comes to securing job opportunities after graduation. If you are expecting structured career guidance, campus placements, or a smooth transition into a new role, this program may not meet your expectations. Be prepared to invest additional time and effort independently to build your career.

I had a chance to go through GL's PG program in Generative AI for Business Applications and I could say I have learnt a lot from this course. Right from first chapter towards end, they have covered a vast variety of topics in Gen AI field. I know now how Gen AI works at the backend. Instead of just using, now I understand what's happening underneath.
This course also gave me opportunity to implement my learnings into practical applications, which helped me in understanding the nuances of Gen AI (such as negative case testing, security and how to use AI responsibly). Using techniques like RAG, Agentic AI, LLM as a judge, RAGAS etc has given me confidence in applying same in my career wherever applicable.
What could be improved:
Due to nature of how AI is evolving, my suggestion is to keep updating the syllabus as new things come out. Instead of extending the program timeline, swapping more recent and important topics would help keep timelines intact and also providing chance for cohort to be updated.
Program manager:
I also would like to call out my program manager, Amit who has been a great source of help throughout the program. In one specific situation when I reached out to him he promptly helped me by guiding and suggesting on how to navigate through the uncertainty I had in my mind.

I am a 17-year veteran of the security compliance field, and I decided to enroll in the Johns Hopkins Applied Generative AI course because of the profound impact AI has had on our industry. Nearly every major client assessment, advisory effort, or strategic initiative crossing my desk involved some degree of AI, LLM, or MCP integration. It became clear that my team and I were underprepared for the scale of technological disruption already reshaping pur profession.
The JHU Applied Generative AI course was genuinely transformative for me. Over the span of 16 weeks, I went on a true “zero to hero” journey. I began the course viewing AI as little more than machine learning with extra hype, and I finished it with the ability to automate work that once took months and reduce it to weeks. The curriculum covered the full spectrum: AI fundamentals, transformers, Python, and the core libraries needed to build AI applications and orchestrate agents effectively.
Before this course, I had little understanding of neural networks or practical AI implementation. By the end, I was building automated virtual employees with targeted skill sets, capable of performing complex tasks and collaborating with one another to solve larger organizational problems that had persisted for years. I also went from having virtually no development background to applying the skills from this course through GPT Codex to build fully functional applications with user-friendly interfaces in less than four days.One of the most valuable lessons this course taught me is that AI is not just a glorified search engine. Many people dismiss it after a poor prompt or a hallucinated response, but this program made it clear that using AI effectively is a skill. Prompt engineering, data preparation, workflow design, and output validation all require discipline and practice. This course provided an exceptional foundation for developing that skill set and for moving into real-world AI-assisted problem solving and solution building.
Today, I automate more than 70% of my workload through AI agents and agentic orchestration. The field is evolving at an incredible pace, and without the knowledge and practical experience I gained here, I would have been left behind. The value of this course comes not only from the subject matter, but from the delivery: hundreds of high-quality CBTs, real instructor-led training, and practical midterm and final evaluations that required students to build a full-service AI platform from the ground up, step by step.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to get their foot in the door with AI, as well as to professionals in any field who want guidance on how to truly unlock the potential of AI-assisted work.
