Completing the MIT Applied Data Science and AI Program through Great Learning while balancing a full-time role at Johns Hopkins Medicine and an active PhD program was no small feat — and I genuinely could not have done it without the flexibility and support this platform offers.
I originally enrolled in the October cohort but had to step back when my team at work underwent a major platform migration (Tableau to Power BI), which consumed most of my bandwidth. Rather than leaving me behind, my Program Manager worked with me personally to transition into the January cohort — a level of accommodation I did not expect from an online program.
Even in the new cohort, balancing doctoral coursework, professional responsibilities, and the program remained challenging. My Program Manager continued to check in, offer guidance, and keep me on track until I crossed the finish line.
The curriculum itself is rigorous — covering everything from machine learning fundamentals to deep learning and applied AI. My capstone, a CNN-based malaria cell detection model, achieved 98.92% accuracy, which I’ve since presented in professional and academic settings.
If you’re a working professional or graduate student considering this program, know that Great Learning meets you where you are. The support infrastructure is real, not just marketing language. -

I attended this course from February to June 2026 (12 weeks), and I was impressed by the amount of material that was provided throughout the program. The lessons were detailed, and the topics were thoroughly explained and discussed.I found the practical component (python) particularly valuable, as it was extensively reviewed and discussed with the mentor during the lessons. The assessment-based approach helped me stay on track and maintain a steady pace throughout the course.The program also provides additional learning resources that I have not yet had the opportunity to fully explore, but I look forward to doing so in the future.Overall, I am very satisfied with this experience. It was challenging and required commitment, but it was also highly useful and rewarding. -

The course is excellent. Course is conducted in such a way that you prepare yourself with self paced training during the week and on the weekend you have 2hr Live session with the faculty and another 2hr practice session (hands on) with another faculty. Got to learn hands-on on tools like RapidMiner, KNIME, Teachable Machines, n8n and Google AI studio. The faculties and the course content is excellent.The example taken for the practice and capstone projects are real life industry problems. I will recommend this course for anyone who wants to be relevant in this rapidly evolving world of GenAI and Agentic AI. -

I recently had the amazing opportunity to take part in the AI and Data Science program with MIT in conjunction with Great Learning, and cannot say enough good things about it. The courses started from basic python, and made its way up to machine learning algorithms which are used everyday in the field. This structure makes this course welcoming to everyone even if you have no prior programming experience.
The course content is extremely informative and is packed with resources for you to use in order to help you understand the concepts of the material for the week. Along with that, the projects are real industry problems to solve that allow you to get experience in machine learning, as well as build your portfolio for the future. The Hackathon is the perfect activity to close up the program and it was a great experience to try and test my skills against those of others. Doing this on a time crunch also helped to simulate what one might experience when trying to deliver solutions in their everyday job. I would highly encourage anyone who takes this course to take part in this event as it is a one of a kind opportunity.
In addition to the content, the mentors for the mentored learning sessions and optional masterclasses were very knowledgeable and cleared up doubts from any and all students with relative ease. My mentor in particular, Dewey Bazirake, did a great job not just teaching the material, but trying to involve everyone in the lessons by including discussion questions with every session, and letting students try their hand at explaining some slides with concepts from the previous weeks content. This allowed me to have a much more in depth learning experience than if i just sat there listening to someone solely read the material.
My program manager, Samarpita, made navigating the program as smooth as possible. She was always there whenever I had any questions regarding course content, reminding me of due dates of assignments, or just checking up on me every so often to make sure I was doing okay. The support provided by Great Learning is second to none and takes professionalism and dedication to a whole nother level.
Even after graduating from the program such a short time ago, I can say that the post program support I have experienced so far has been great. I had one session with Mohammad Raahemi and he gave me some extremely valuable tips and tricks to help perfect my resume and aid me in finding a job in the industry. I am looking forward to continuing to use the excelerate programs resources to help with in my future endeavors.
Overall, this program was an invaluable experience and I would recommend it to anyone that has any interest in Data Science regardless of your skill level. If you take the leap, believe me, you will not be disappointed. -

I’m fully employed with several side hustles, and the only way I made it through the course was with support from the program manager Samuel, and flexible course logistics (recorded lectures, asynchronous activities). The curriculum is strong and more than helpful for anyone trying to break into the data science field. The lecturers had some of the most impressive backgrounds and they were extremely knowledgeable and insightful.

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect when I signed up, but this course has been a great experience. The good part? It's built around no-code AI/ML tools, which makes diving into machine learning so much more accessible. The Sunday mentored sessions kept the learning consistent and structured. Having that dedicated weekly touchpoint to discuss, ask questions, and learn with peers really helps you stay engaged throughout the program.
A big shoutout to Mehak Gupta for being such a proactive support. Whenever we got stuck, she was right there to guide us.
But the real highlights for me were the hands-on sessions and case studies on KNIME and RapidMiner. I joined this program with the goal of learning the basics of AI and exploring opportunities for a startup.
I was able to learn through comprehensive courses taught by MIT professors and researchers.
The quality of learning is excellent, and the sessions provides a solid foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
My favorite course is “Business Applications of Generative AI,” but we covered all the key areas, including data exploration and analysis,
classification, regression, neural networks, and computer vision. Finally, the “Ethical and Responsible AI” course is a real plus for understanding the real-world impacts and pitfalls to avoid.
The Great Learning team was very efficient and helpful:
- The Olympus platform is very user-friendly and runs smoothly. Everything went well, and the resources are readily available
- The videos are high-quality, and the playback options are comprehensive
- The mentors were very instructive and patient
- The sessions are live, and multiple time slots are offered, which was a huge help. The videos are also recorded.
- The hands-on sessions allow you to practice and work with tools like KNIME, RapidMiner, n8n, and more.
- The assessed projects allow learners to apply their knowledge to end-to-end business cases.
This program exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend it to my colleagues.

I recently completed the “MIT Professional Education No Code AI and Machine Learning” program delivered by Great Learning, and overall it was a well-structured and worthwhile learning experience.
One of the strengths of the program was its structure. The pre-work helped build a useful foundation, and the mix of self-paced content with mentored learning sessions made the material easier to follow, especially for topics that can otherwise feel quite technical.
The rigorous structure—including quizzes, projects, and mandatory attendance for mentored sessions—ensured that we stayed on our toes and remained actively engaged throughout the program. A special thanks to our Group Mentor, Mr. Olabode James, for his expertise in helping us grasp difficult concepts, and to our Program Manager, Ms. Saumya, for her constant support throughout this entire learning journey.
The curriculum covers a vast landscape, from Generative AI Foundations to Neural Networks and Recommendation Systems. A tremendous amount of content was packed into these 5 months. Since I retain access to the course materials and recordings, I will certainly be revisiting them to brush up on my knowledge—or as we say in ML terms: Reinforcement Learning.
This program was rich, engaging, and truly challenged the way I look at data, fundamentally changing how I perceive AI. For anyone serious about learning and ready to put in the necessary commitment and effort, please go for it. It will change your perspective entirely.

I recently wrapped up the Applied Data Science Program from MIT Professional Education, and I went into it with pretty specific expectations—I wasn’t looking for theory-heavy academia, but something practical that I could actually apply.Overall, I’d say it delivered on that.
What worked well for me was the structure and consistency. The program walks through core data science concepts—EDA, supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation—in a way that’s approachable but still meaningful. The case studies and assignments were probably the most valuable part. They forced me to think in terms of real-world problem solving instead of just “run this model and check a box.”
I also appreciated the discipline it created. With a full-time job and everything else going on, having a structured program kept me honest and progressing, which is honestly half the battle with self-learning.
That said, this isn’t a deep-dive, cutting-edge program. If you already have strong experience in ML or are looking for advanced topics like deep learning, large-scale systems, or building production-grade ML pipelines, this won’t go far enough. In my case, coming from an SRE background, it was actually a good fit—it helped me connect the dots and build a solid applied foundation without getting lost in theory.
One unexpected benefit was how it shifted my thinking. I now approach problems a bit more “data-first,” and I’m more comfortable evaluating models, asking the right questions, and thinking about trade-offs.
Net-net: if you’re trying to break into data science or add applied ML skills to your existing role, it’s worth it. If you’re already deep in the field, you might want something more advanced.

It reflects a genuine commitment to keeping the curriculum current, and it adds meaningful practical relevance in a professional context where these tools are increasingly central to decision-making.The support received throughout the course was positive. Live mentoring sessions are a genuine asset, though the experience does vary depending on the mentor. Occasionally, sessions leaned too heavily on quiz-based revision of module content, which added limited value compared to more applied or discussion-led formats. A more consistent approach to session design across mentors would strengthen this element considerably.What I found most valuable, beyond the technical skills themselves, was the broader shift in mindset the course encourages: learning not just how to use these tools, but how to think about them strategically and apply them effectively in a business context.
