It is a challenging experience where you learn from the very basics of Python syntax up to statitical analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, among a wide variety of DS tools and knowledge. Before DS4A I feel I was just roaming and drifting about my career. Of course, I learned a lot about Data Science on my own, but this was a fire test to realize what was exactly my skills level and all the weaknesses I needed to workup.

This course is amazing, prof.  Natesh is amazing, he makes the course very engaging, he is funny, the methodology lets you interact within the class with others. About the curriculum, for me it is really good, it covers several Data Science tools you need in order to do well as a Data Scientist, it covers Exploratory Data Analysis, Modeling, Hypothesis testing, Deep Learning, SQL among others which gives you a good overview of the basics of each subject. Maybe the content does not dive deeply into the specifics but I think is good enough. The other amazing thing is that for each topic, you are working on a real problem, with a real dataset, which is amazing as you are learning by doing (programming in python every concept) which let's you a better understanding and also there is a real project on which you have to work with a teams in order to apply for the graduation. At the end you have to pitch your project, your solution for a real-world problem which is amazing. I think the course is useful for people learning Data Science, not so advanced but a really good one. Read less

 As Mathematician, I have always wanted to study topics related to Machine Learning and Data Science, but I haven't really worked in Python; however I apply to the program and I love it. 

I like the fact that they have small "boot camps" used to learn or reinforce the knowledge in some programs/ python libraries; I also like "wide" of topics that we see, I don't know much, but I feel that we see a little of almost everything,  and if you want you can go deepen on some topics by your own. And the final project was also exciting for me, because have never been worked in a software solution and study in a similar real environment help me a lot (I learned about Slack, how to use git properly, how to organize a project and so on).

Finally, I have a doubt with the institution, they really help me to get a job, I could get a good one with a huge Medellín company.   Read less

Hello there!

I want to tell you a little bit about my experience on the DS4A program offered by Correlation One.

During the last months of 2020, the opportunity of participating in the DS4A program that was carried out in Colombia was presented to me in an unexpected manner. I entered the program after approving an interesting test with a mixture of feelings between nervousness and uncertainty since I didn't know what to expect. I had background working with data science related topics due to the work I had developed during my PhD and was uncertain if the course would be either too basic or too advanced.

Well, after completing the course I can say that it was fantastic. The program's content is aimed to everybody. It doesn't matter if you have data science or software development experience. It will take you from the fundamentals to some advanced concepts leaving you with all the skills needed to continue the adventure on your own if you find it appealing.

If I had to list the positive things I found on the program I would say:

• The practical lessons were original and really useful. The program will teach you the concepts through practical scenarios were you can review the concepts as well as testing them with software development.
• In my case, we had access to an amazing team of instructors from all around the globe as well as Colombia (so the language was not an issue if you don't have confidence in your English). All of them with the best attitude and willing to solve your doubts and support you.
• The final project. In order to graduate you have to present a data science project that can be developed either from your own ideas or with companies that need to solve an issue. Working with a company and having to coordinate with your team to obtain the best results is as close to reality as it can be.
• The material the course shares with you. Even now as I am working as a data analyst on a company, the books, the lessons, the forums and everything that the program shared with me has been useful to fulfill my responsibilities on the company.
• The people you meet and networking you obtain from the experience. I never imagined that in Colombia there was such amount of amazing people that worked around data science and machine learning. The program left me with really good friends and with several contacts that I know can be useful at any moment I might need it.

On the other hand, in my personal opinion, the things that can be improved are the following:

• The amount of time required for the program was quite demanding. One of the things that took me off guard was that I entered the program thinking that dedicating the weekends to it would be enough. Trust me, it was not. If I wanted to get the best from the program I had to dedicate at least a couple of hours of each day to study the lessons and complete the assignments. Looking back now, I can say that this effort is what made the experience so rich and really useful for me but I think this can be improved in the future since I had teammates that could not handle it with their work responsibilities and ended up having a stressful time.
• Among many other things topics that the program introduces, the topics related with machine learning were centered around regression only. I understand now that it is more common to find regression problems in the industry and that it is impossible to cover every single topic around data science and machine learning in such short amount of time. However, I believe that some practical cases around classification problems and its differences against regression can be really useful for anyone.

To sum up, I recommend the program to whoever wants to start his/her journey on data science or wants to solidify the fundamentals (if you have background, trust me there are things you have not realized that the program clarifies). You will meet a group of amazing people, have an amazing time with Natesh a great DJ and even more amazing professor and end up with a set of skills that will make you look at the world with another perspective. Enjoy the experience, make a lot of friends and of course learn as much as you can. At the end of the program you will feel proud of what you have accomplished if you made the honest effort.
