I was in the 6 month self-paced program at Coding Temple from April to September 2022. It was a hard road to say the least. A working parent who has most of the responsibility of keeping the house in order because of my wife's schedule put a strain on the 6 months I couldn't have imagined. My instructors were Brandon Apol, Christian Askew and Schardre Dent during the 6 month program. They were always willing to help, but were also able to deflect back to me when it was imperative that I figure it out on my own. I originally was displease because I thought there could be more subject matter taught, especially the stuff that causes the most problems and that isn't the coding part. Looking back now, I realized that its always part of the process to figure things out on your own and the better you are at that, the more valuable you will be in the field. Also, figuring things out on your own gives you a confidence that surpasses any test you could pass and I mean that with certainty. Not only that but you will learn things and have the tools to be successful and you won't even realize it until you do start figuring things out on your own, which is what you will have to do in the field to be successful. I appreciate the effort of my instructors and there help when I needed it the most. I would recommend Coding Temple for anyone desiring to become a computer programmer or anything in the tech field for that matter because of its broad background of subjects covered. I would add however, that being a non-traditional student, this learning environment was very challenging. I believe therein lies the issues of my struggles early on.... teaching myself a lot of things was not what I was used to doing in traditional college/university. I am forever grateful for the time I have spent here and everyone involved with this program.... It is top notch!!!! -

I am graduating from Coding Temple in one week, and I have to say it has been an amazing experience since Day 1. The staff have been so welcoming and comforting throughout my journey. I have to give an extra amazing review for my teacher, Lucas. He is SO knowledgeable about the tech world, any question you throw at him, he either knows how to fix your problem instantly or works through your problem with you. He is the best teacher I have ever had. Highly recommend Coding Temple to kick start your tech journey! -

I had a great experience at Coding Temple. I completed a full-time 10 week immersive course and it was tough. Lot of cancelled plans and late nights working. But if you feel ready, I would highly recommend this bootcamp! I don't think there's ever a "perfect" time to make a decision like this. You just have to take risks sometimes and trust yourself.
If I could go back, I would have prepared more. They suggest 2 weeks to complete all of the prework assignments and I only had like 6 days. I didn't finish it all, and HTML/CSS is the last of prework, but you start it on Day 1 of class.
I wish that Ripal (admissions) had suggested I was enrolled in the cohort after. However, he was super nice during the admission process and granted me a $500 scholarship which was unexpected and very appreciated. The reason I bring this up is because I asked Nicole (student advisor) if I could re-enroll into the next cohort coming up. I just felt so behind and lost in HTML/CSS by day 3. She gave me the support I needed and pushed me to hang in there until the next week which was Python. If I still felt lost, we could arrange re-enrolling and waiving the re-enrollment fee. That said a lot to me about Coding Temple. That they are going to work with you if you ask for help!
Class over zoom was great. I had to figure out how to learn again. You don't need to type along during class because it's all recorded and your night is going to be re-watching the day's lecture over and over. I took notes to make sure Python concepts stuck in my head. And found youtubers who explained things in different ways. Derek and Lucas were fantastic instructors, I definitely miss seeing them every day. It was a serious challenge getting everything turned in, doing codewars, attending guest speakers, scheduling after-hours help, and just living your life. But once it's over you are exposed to pretty much everything you need to know for web development. I have assignments that I will definitely come back to tweak and work on.
After graduating, you get alumni support via slack forever. Marlene (career coach) and Nate (alumni tech instructor) are fantastic. They so work hard to help you succeed. There are tech workshops for coding interview challenges and job search support workshops where other alumni share their tips for getting a job offer. I like knowing that I could come back in a year or two to sharpen my skills or revamp my resume.
I chose this bootcamp because it's one of the shortest timeframes out there and they offer a money back guarantee. It's real - but it's pretty hard to achieve IMO. Just know that while there are horror stories out there about some bootcamps, Coding Temple is legit. It's very expensive, but I feel proud that I did it. I will never regret investing in an education. -

Wow, to say that this program is amazing is an understatement! I came into this course with a lack of confidence in my technical abilities, and now I am so proud to say that I've graduated from this program. The instructors are so incredibly helpful and completely dedicated to walking their students understand the content at hand. Christian Askew, Brandon Apol, and the rest of the Coding Temple team- thank you so much for guiding me through this invaluable experience. When I decided to enroll in Coding Temple, I had been job searching for almost seven months with little to no prospects. I began searching for bootcamps and I stumbled upon Coding Temple, and I sure am happy that I did. I had little coding experience heading in, but now I am a full-fledge software developer. The teachers, the other students, the resources, I really couldn't ask for anything better. If you know this is what you want to do, you will find no better place than Coding Temple.
I took the full-time course and I was working part-time through it. It was difficult, I won't lie to you and say it was easy. If you can, try to not have to work and solely focus on the bootcamp. But I promise you, if you work hard and really give it your all, in 10 weeks, you will have the skills to start a whole new career making a whole lot more money (or potential to make a whole lot more money) than whatever you were doing before. I started coding temple late march this year, I went into it not knowing a thing about coding. I really surprised myself with how fast, and how much I was able to learn thanks to my amazing instructors Terrell and Ryan. They made the class very fun and inviting but also very educational. If you are someone looking to get into coding, coding temple is definitely the place you want to be. -

Coding Temple was a great school! I learned a lot in my 10-week program. It was very challenging. You will put in a lot of hours outside of class, but it is really worth it. They teach you the most up-to-date technology and practices. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, and the support staff are great! You will be expected to put in the work and effort, but they provide a lot of support and help for you when you need it. Everyone is easily accessible, and they actually respond to you when you reach out to them. They provide a ton of job support after you graduate. You have interview support, job search support, resume writing support, weekly coding post-grad class, and continued coding challenges to help you stay up to date on your coding skills. -

I had a great time during my experience at Coding Temple, if you get Brian as your teacher consider yourself lucky. He's a great teacher, very patient and can teach difficult concepts to a brick wall. It is a lot of work, so make sure you have the time. You'll have homework (nearly) every night on top of a full day of class, and your weekend will be filled with a project covering all the topics of that week. I had a little programming experience going in, self taught mostly but nothing too special so the first few weeks went pretty well, but it quickly jumped in complexity and I found myself studying and programming late into the night.
Overall, I learned more in these 10 weeks than I ever could have on my own and I'm glad I was lucky enough to be in a position to take this course. -

If you're looking for a bootcamp that not only provides you with the resources to be successful but also gives you a sense of belonging, look no further! My instructors Ryan and Terrell were the absolute best. They were very patient with everyone in our cohort and extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention there was never a dull moment with them two.
After graduation, you are also provided with the resources that teach you how to successfully look for a job in the tech world. Marlene, the alumni director, is a rock star! She will provide you with valuable feedback and will tell you things the way they are, no sugar coating.
I am beyond grateful for the experience Coding Temple provided me with and I would highly recommend to anyone! You will get out of this bootcamp what you put into it. -

Coding Temple was a great way for me to finish off my self teaching in computer programming. Even though I have very good discipline, this really forced me to put in the work and to really learn in a fast world environment. You will learn a lot in a little time but you will learn how to problem solve and figure things out regardless of the language(JavaScript, Python, SQL...etc). I was able to land a job months after graduating thanks to their outstanding after grad program, this for me was a great help. I learned to write and create resumes, cover letters, talk with recruiters and possible employers about my abilities and myself. Then I continued my learning with more classes about algorithms and interview challenges that the school offers all while bouncing ideas off of other cohorts. -

I didn't want a program that was set up as a bunch of videos to watch with no real support. I could get that from YouTube. So when I was researching the different bootcamp options out there, I liked that Coding Temple offered an instructor. Most did for full-time/in-person courses but CT also offers instructor support in their Self-Paced program. The instructor was extremely helpful when I ran into issues or needed a bit more explanation on various things we were learning. The assignments were engaging, dare I say FUN and challenged you to truly apply what you were learning in the course. Once you finish the bootcamp, you then have a whole new support system in their Alumni team who help with resume building, application processes, and interview support - both technical and in general. -

I had learned some coding and SQL basics before I started the bootcamp experience. This full stack course took it to a whole another level. I was challenged and push which is what I like in order to learn and retain information. Not only were we held accountable, and it forced me to think outside that box which is rare for me as I find challenges fairly easy. I liked the course challenged me every day and I was able to solve and learn things I didn't think about. Other than the teaching aspect, I loved sources were provided. The program is rigorous and challenging, I came in with an experience prior and still found it to be overwhelming at times. But challenges are what we must endure to both values something and get us where we want to be. I recommend the program. Success depends on how hard you work. They lead you to move in the right direction, and you push yourself to learn.

Going into this program I had 0 experience with coding! none whatsoever!!! Brandon made learning all the information a lot of fun and understandable, and at the end I had learned things that I never in a million years thought I'd understand. One critique I'd have with the self paced program is giving students the ability to get the pre-work done before the actual start of the course. Outside of that... It was an absolutely amazing experience and I can't wait to see where my career goes from here! -

The program was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Coming from someone who already had some experience with programming, the amount of knowledge I gained from this experience is unmatched. I learned every skill I needed to take with me into the job search and landed a terrific role within 5 months of graduation.
The instructors were extremely helpful anytime I did not understand something or needed more information. The tools that were given to me were everything I needed to succeed. Marlene does an amazing job providing assistance in the job search post graduation.

I had a great experience at Coding Temple! My instructor was Nate Welter and he did an amazing job at adjusting the pace of the course so that everybody had a working understanding of the material. There really was no question he couldn't answer on the spot, and if by chance something did come up, he was very resourceful and had an answer nearly immediately (which is probably the greatest asset there is for a programmer).
Our TA was also very helpful and would stay late after class on an individual basis if anyone felt they were falling behind (spoiler- they wouldn't be falling behind for long).
I can't personally attest to the abilities of the other instructors, but I know they're a tight knit group, and I've heard nothing but good things from students of their classes. Algo Night is offered every week to brush up on skills, and the support system for post-graduates is relentless, you will never feel left behind.
If you're looking for a bootcamp to get yourself a full-time engineering job or just want a better understanding of computer systems for your current placement, look no further. -

Most challenging and rewarding learning experience I have had post-college. I am a month post graduation, and after doing the 10-week Full Stack program, I feel really prepared to enter the workforce in my new field. Coding Temple overall has a tremendous support outside of the actual classes, but the poeple working for Coding Temple, have been genuine, warm, and very intelligent. Derek, my instructor is one of the most brilliant people I have been around, he has extensive knowledge about all subjects covered, but he is able to show complex operations with the languages/frameworks and still explain it in a clear and concise fashion. Lucas, my teacher's assistant had a infectious enthusiasm for coding that really impressed me, and his knowledge of coding and how to communicate it was also wonderful. -

I had an amazing experience with this bootcamp!! The staff is very interactive and always available when you need them. My instructor was wonderful, he was super knowledgeable and did a great job preparing me for a career in tech. I would recommend this bootcamp a thousand times over to anyone looking for a bootcamp. All reservations I had for participating in one disappeared within a week of starting my cohort. As a part time student with full time work responsibilities I was nervous about the work load and how much it would dominate life. It did not dominate whatsoever and the school is very willing to work with you and your schedule. It is not just the instructors, the staff in general is amazing, from student relations, to career counseling, to the post-grad job-search assistance, I really cant recommend this school and its staff enough!! -

Coding Temple is a GREAT bootcamp! They not only see you as a student but a person as well. They will work with you into to the hours of the night to help you learn new skills and processes, they make sure that you as an individual are picking up on the skills being layered in front of you, they will force you to think and problem solve, letting you make mistakes and learning from them, and most of all they care about you and your future endeavors.
My experience with coding temple.
I signed up through Career Karma, did the pre-work, and started class pretty soon after that. The classes where all online and in a class room with a Instructor teaching the days material (usually doing a code-along) then they would give us our home work, some of the work was pretty straight forward but some needed further explaining usually from a instructor or the instructor would guide you to more information via Google, W3 schools, StackOverflow, or GeeksForGeeks. They really lay down the frame work for you learn how to learn and teach your self about what you are learning.
Curriculum.
My only critique is the Curriculum. I wish the Part-time course was 14 or even 16 weeks long I fill the class could have used more time in a few of the subjects but other then that I think the Curriculum was very straight forward and was taught with precision and accuracy. My instructor Kevin Beier was qualified and over all a great guy to work with the way he tackles the Curriculum is very thorough and was a ton of help.

Prior to coding temple I had no experience.
However the structors(Kevin, Alex, Devon) were able to give me the tools to get me where I am today. There's was some points where I felt lost but meeting with them helped me and got me through. From the initial phone call, every single person that I've encountered at Coding Temple has been extremely helpful. The prework definitely helped me prepare for the bootcamp. When I started, I was completely new to coding/programming. I had Terrell and Ryan as instructors, and they did an amazing job breaking down and explaining every single language/concept in the program. The 10 weeks go by very quickly but there are a couple that feel to drag because of the information overload. Figuring out the best way that I learned and retained information really helped me get the most out of the program. You really do get out what you put in. Remaining curious and asking lots of questions makes a huge difference!
I would definitely recommend this program to anyone that is ready to fully immerse themselves. No matter your level of experience, Coding Temple will help you learn what you need to learn to confidently start your new career. They have so many resources and are continuously adding more to the career services program after the bootcamp. -

I took Coding Temple's course full-time from August to October and couldn't be happier. Terrell and Ryan were awesome instructors and human-beings. Nicole was great and keeping all of us happy and on-track. Marlene was an indispensable resource in the job hunt; thanks to her guidance I was lined up with an accepted offer and a start date within a month of finishing the program.
I waited to do the review until I had some time in at my new position to be able to speak on how the program prepared me for my role. I can happily say that I was given the knowledge and resources to either out-right know what I was doing or know where to look if I needed guidance or documentation. I would absolutely recommend Coding Temple to anyone who wants to become a software engineer. -

I graduated from the program in January 2022, and I got to say this was one of the best decisions I made. The program is very fast-paced and you learn a lot in these 10 weeks. The instructors and support staff were always available whenever I needed help. Be ready to spend 70-80 hours a week if you want to get the most out of this Bootcamp. You'll get what you put into it. I highly recommend this to anyone trying to get into the Software Engineer or Data Analytics industry. -

I went into the program knowing that I wanted to perform data analysis, with some experience performing statistical analysis in an academic setting, but completely uninitiated in computer programming. I appreciated the introduction to a broad catalogue of technologies. If you're familiar with programming languages you might want more depth, but for a newbie it was a perfect introduction and I'm now confident in my ability to go deeper on my own time.
Pros: I was introduced to a broad swath of technologies. This not only helped me narrow down my interests (data engineering), but it also made me feel more comfortable talking about programming in social and professional settings. I also appreciate the broad introduction because I developed skills I would have otherwise overlooked.
Instructors were knowledgeable and approachable.
I made great connections with my peers/classmates.
Cons: Hard to call it a con, but if you are unprepared for the pace it can be detrimental: the program moves very quickly, it's very easy to fall behind and feel overwhelmed if you don't check in with yourself and others OFTEN. -

I wish I had made the leap sooner. Going from a small business owner, to a student preparing for nursing school, to pivoting again in light of the pandemic, I made up my mind that software development was a path with limitless opportunities if only I could get through the door. I started researching, reading reviews, and calling different companies, and everyone I spoke to sounded the same, "Our program is the best! We have over a 95% employment rate..., etc.", but most of my questions weren't answered directly and I was tired of the canned responses. I was starting to wonder if all bootcamps were like this. Then I got a call back from Coding Temple.
Ripal was sincere, had direct insight into the program, and was willing to have an honest conversation about the commitment it would take and how long it would be before I found a job (average is 3 months). His candor was what ultimately sold me on Coding Temple. He wasn't trying to sugarcoat anything, and I could tell he believed in the program. Turns out he was one of the cofounders! That conversation, along with the financing that allowed me to complete the program and likely find a job before paying anything back, gave me the confidence to step into a new career I knew nothing about, but I came away equipped with the experience to have professional conversations during my interviews and a portfolio that impressed recruiters. Marlene knew how to prepare me for the job search and put my best foot forward with my applications, and thanks to her guidance I had 2 different offers within 6 weeks and was able to start at an amazing company within 2 months of graduating. I couldn't have imagined making such a big decision and it turning out so well, and I owe it all to Coding Temple. -

If you are looking for 10 weeks of rigorous training in a specific tech discipline, this is not the place for you.
If you are looking to transition from another field, and have no idea where to start, but lots (and I mean LOTS) of motivation, this is the perfect starting place. Full-Stack means this place teaches front-end technologies and gets you making websites, but they also show you how to make databases and programs in the back-end, and hook those together with the web interfaces. TLDR: You can get a bunch of different jobs that will use skills you learn here.
Now to the important stuff: Culture at Coding Temple is fantastic! They provide intense levels of support in the form of patient instructors, night-time AIs, career support that extends months beyond the end of the boot camp, interview training, algorithm practice, and I guess I'll end here: advice from a career advisor who is an experienced expert in her career.
I am writing this after receiving an offer for a tech job in a tech firm rated in the best places to work in Chicago, so this is not me being optimistic; Coding Temple works if you do your part. -

I chose to make a career change much later in life. Much later than most of my classmates. There are sooooo many different options for bootcamps out there, which made this decision even tougher. I researched and researched and decided Coding Temple had it all and in only 10 weeks. I knew it would be tough, and it sure was! Thankfully, I was dedicated and determined and that is key here. You must be ready to put your social life aside and really put in your time.
Coding Temple was a wonderful experience for me. Nicole was very fun and pleasant to work w/ for onboarding and mid-course reviews. My instructor (Derek) and TA (Lucas) are incredible at their jobs. They were very thorough and always available to help, if we got lost or it didn't click right away. I aim to be at their level someday.. Marlene (Alumni Director/ Career Coach) knows everything there is to know about resume-building and interviewing. She's an amazing support/resource to have in this process of job hunting.
I would highly recommend Coding Temple if you're looking to make the jump into a tech role. They have everything you need and the support to get you through the process. Two thumbs up from me! -

I'm a recent graduate of the full time full-stack + data science program at Coding Temple (remote). Why Coding Temple over the others? The staff! The staff was helpful before, during, and still after the program is complete. They really want you to succeed but you get what you put into it like most things so be prepared. The curriculum was intense but doable if you commit yourself. Full time means full-time so all of my free time was spent doing homework and projects. What I didn't expect was developing the bonds with the other students that were and still is a great support system til this day. Send Coding Temple an email or give them a call, what do you got to lose? -

I took Coding Temple's 10 week full-stack developer course and it was amazing. I went into the program with no coding experience whatsoever, and Coding Temple got me from there to job ready in less than 3 months. Since there was so much information, sometimes I needed extra help, and there was always assistance available (even on weekends!!). My instructor Terrell was very knowledgeable and the assistant instructor Ryan was awesome. Between the 2 of them every question anyone asked in class was answered thoroughly and usually they gave us a link to some additional info for us to look at if we wanted to as well. Even though it was a lot of work, Terrell and Ryan taught the class in a way that made it fun to learn. After graduation Coding Temple provides a career services program that is amazing. Marlene is an incredibly valuable resource, giving so much insight to resumes, the ins and outs of interviewing, and how to prepare yourself and your work that I really felt confident about the whole process. Nicole was so great too. She organized activities and game nights and things that really focused on team building, which is a really important aspect of this whole thing, because these relationships turn into networks, and that leads to good things. Overall, I only have positive things to say about Coding Temple. I cannot believe how much I learned in such a short period of time, and how cool and fun the things I learned are. This was totally worth the investment, and I cannot recommend Coding Temple highly enough. -

If you're looking for speed, this is the way to go. Take the time to set the rest of your life aside for ten weeks and dive in - this program will absolutely teach you what you need for entering the industry. Not only will you learn the technical skills, but you'll get the advice you need to navigate the industry, pass interviews, and more. The course is not just oriented around getting you a job, but truly giving you, the student, the requisite resources to continue growing after graduation and deeply understanding the code you'll write and work with.
A word of advice to students who enroll.. Spend the time with the pre-work basics. I highly recommend at least googling some of the topics that are listed on the course offering ahead of time - Coding Temple staff are able to both teach people who have never written a line of code before, and they are also able to help people who have prior experience to "polish" their code, and in all things seek elegance. The staff at CT are the true gems of the program that set the institution apart from the rest - whether that's extra student activities and the community built, or the career guidance by people who could be elsewhere but have chosen to look after the students instead, or the knowledgeable TAs and instructors who are ready to help. I highly recommend Coding Temple to anyone who wants to take coding seriously, and fall in love with an incredible field of study.
And to those who are concerned (naturally) with getting a job as soon as possible after graduation... I had interviews scheduled before I'd finished graduating, and had classmates walk out from graduation into jobs the following Monday. It works. -

The course is fast paced, and you need to work a lot of hours to keep up, but that is why it is called a bootcamp! I had taken a couple of coding courses online before but attending this bootcamp helped me stay on track with my work and gave me a strong basis in full-stack development. It is incredible how much you can learn in such a short time! -

The people working here is among one of the most supporting and caring people I've ever met. I started out struggling a lot because I have no prior experience with coding. With the support of the instructors, TAs, and my classmates, I ended up graduating and grasping the fundamentals of programming. I would vouch for the people here as they have been a part of my growth every step of the way. Despite that, understand that this is still a bootcamp so you will still be expected to put your own hours in to study and understand the material taught. Would absolutely recommend this bootcamp to anyone who is interested in learning full stack programming! -

Attending Coding Temple's online web development and data science bootcamp has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made. The program, while challenging, not only taught me the in-demand technologies and coding skills required to work in the tech industry, but it also gave me experience creating and developing real world projects that I was able to leverage in my search for full-time employment as a software engineer. The faculty and TA's are not only knowledgable and experienced but they make sure to serve as a guide in the professional development of each and every one of the students. If that's not enough, the student relations and career services provide extensive 1-on-1 support to make sure each student is progressing, not only in the program, but also in their professional development. The program does require students be dedicated to showing up and doing the work daily for 10-weeks, but students who do the work and stick with the program are sure to gain the tools and resources they need to work and succeed in the tech industry. I recently was offered and accepted a position as a software engineer that I couldn't have dreamed possible without the support and guidance from all of the faculty and staff at Coding Temple. Coding Temple has truly transformed my life and started me down my new journey as a software engineer and I couldn't be more grateful. -

Where to start, I'm not sure. Writing a review for Coding Temple and my experience is some what of a emotional situation for me in a good way. Some words about the employees first....Caring/Honest/Family/Supportive/Involved/Passionate/Open Minded/Creative are all words that come to mind when I think about the employees ranging from top to bottom. Some words for the program.........Tough/Achieving/Testing/Frustrating/Happy/Tiring/Lost/REWARDING! Coding Temple is possibly the hardest course I have ever taken in my life and I am someone that went to college for Computer Science and got Math burn out literally after 2 years non stop of it. Along my path at Coding Temple I met some awesome people and had the experience of my life. I truly felt like my success mattered to each and every person that worked there and my class mates as well. It is a tremendous amount of support at every turn you take......failure is not a option and I assure you there will be times when failure seems like a very real option as I hit that point more than once and was picked right up by the best group of people ever. Hell I still wonder how they all managed to be employed at the same place, it just isn't common anymore in my experience to be met by literally an entire workforce that falls in the category of my words about the employees. This program I would say is geared to someone ready to make a leap and achieve something that will create a career for themselves and test a person beyond words. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a Full-Stack bootcamp.
Final thoughts........Ryan/Terrell/Joel/Nicole/ and Marlene are all kick ass awesome individuals!
