Completed the Python + Data program in 2019. The course was really intense and demands a lot of work to be put in each week. Joel and Derek did a great job of providing 1-1 attention to all of the students. My class size was 7 students, which is something I really enjoyed at Coding Temple. I was successfully employed after the program and using the knowledge from what I learned at Coding Temple everyday as a Data Analyst.

Coding Temple provided me with the skills and resources to be able to be successful after completing their bootcamp. They were able to provide me with real world skills and projects that allowed for an easy transition to a full-time job. They also were able to help me find a full-time job! They have a great staff that provide you with the proper tools to be able to be successful. I found it best that if I met with them after hours and before they were able to help me solve critical problems. This is definitely NOT for you if you are not willing to put in the hours and work.I would HIGHLY recommend you take this bootcamp if you are serious about learning how to code. Joel is the best teacher I could ask for, willing to stay after hours to help anyone out. Ripal puts in a lot of time and effort into getting companies and recruiters to come in at the end of the course for potential career offers. Once you get a job and you will if you put in the work, don't forget to come back and visit coding temple the doors are always open to past students.

I took the Coding Temple Online program this summer. The online application was perfect for me as the lectures would be after work hours during the evening. Derek did a great job of providing a hands-on experience even though we enrolled in an online program. The class size was extremely small with four students, and Derek provided 1-1 sessions during the day which helped on days that I was struggling. The online program does require you to put in a lot of work outside of class time, so you will have to dedicate your weekends to Coding Temple Projects.

Coding Temple helped me land my first tech job. I have an Associate Degree, and I’d say the skills I learned from instructors Derek and Ananya put me on par with 4 year university graduates. With my new job, I was able to pay off the cost of the program in a couple of months. I know people who had no prior coding experience, and found great tech jobs soon after graduating from Coding Temple.

Coding temple is in my opinion one of the best bootcamps. The small class size (<10) is perfect because it allows for more 1 on 1 interactions with the teacher and allows for very in-depth conversations about the topics. Connor, the instructor, is very knowledgeable, patient, calm and understands that everyone is at different points in their learning. The cirriculum is very encompassing, we started at the basics and worked our way up to developing full stack applications. Each student also has a responsibility to learn and review on their own. The pace is fast and you are expected to study the material. You usually spend anywhere from 1hr to 5 hrs a night working on assignment or projects depending on the day, and there are projects assigned for every weekend. The post-grad help is terrific Ripal is constantly checking in on everyone. I'd recommend to anyone in the process of choosing a bootcamp.

After completing Coding Temple's 10-week web-development boot camp, I can confidently step into this new chapter of my career. Coming from a non-technical background, my instructor, Joel Carter, was able to make me comfortable with the material and introduced concepts in a way that flowed logically. I felt supported along the way, was able to do things on my own and learn through my own mistakes, and ultimately was able to get a job doing exactly what I wanted to do. To be successful, be prepared to show up every day, put in work when you're not in class, and try new things. If you've been thinking about doing this, don't wait any longer.

If you have no experience in programming and you want to kickstart yourself then this is the place for you. They will begin at a fair pace where you can get yourself familiar with the basic concepts. After the first week or so things will pick up and you will have to put in work outside of class if you want to have a chance of being a skilled programmer by the end of the course, the 40 hours a week is not enough. They provide you with the building blocks and you have to improve those skills. Don't do this if you aren't going to put in the time.
Coding Temple provides you with a collaborative environment to work and grow together with your classmates. They provide free snacks, drinks, video games, and a ping pong table to relax and rejuvinate after hard, thought-provoking lessons.

I took a 10 week course, going in with zero experience, and left with a wealth of information that helped me launch a new career. The course covers a lot and moves at a fast pace, which was great for me as I was looking to quickly move into a new profession. My instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and has been an invaluable resource in, and out of, the classroom. After completing the course, Coding Temple put considerable effort into helping me build a resume and to navigate the job market. I would recomend Coding Temple to anyone that is looking to start a new career.

Yes, I believe it was a good experience because it was very immersive for the 10 weeks that we were in class. Joel was very helpful throughout the course and is still available when needed to answer my questions. Ripal has done his part in helping with the resume and setting up showcase week and helping us with that along with job placement advice. I wish we did more group projects though since that is what the real world is more like, but I am not dissatisfied with that. Overall I'd give it a 9/10.

I had a pretty good experience here. Building all the projects was the most helpful in understanding how web dev. works and the showcase week has been great so far. My only feedback would be that the classes should be longer for future students. We averaged a time frame from 9:30am to about 1:30. I think the course needs to be longer (perhaps go to 5pm). Also, I don't believe that we got much hw to do over the weekends. In the future, I think the students should be given extra projects or coding challenges and their code should be checked. They should also showcase their code and explain why they did it that way. Also, I had hoped that we would have a little bit more understanding of JavaScript. Nonetheless, I think there was a lot of helpful information and all the projects we've created are great.

IIf you’re looking to take your career to the next level, a bootcamp is the fastest, most cost effective, and efficient way of doing so.
I chose Coding Temple over the other boot camps out there for 2 main reasons.
1) Instructors and curriculum
The instructors at this bootcamp have real industry experience. They know what they are teaching and do it well. The curriculum is intense, but if you put in the work during class and after class, it pays off. It’s designed to keep up with industry technology which is great for when you’re applying to jobs post graduation. We did coding challenges, peer coding, capstones, as well as instructor lead demos.
2) Job Seeking and Alumni Support
The staff at Coding Temple takes job seeking to the next level. During my time at this bootcamp, we had recruiters from various staffing agencies come to the classroom and I was able to introduce myself and my skill set to them. Coding Temple also brings back Alumni and lets current students showcase what they’ve learned to them. This was extremely beneficial because I was able to give employed Coding Temple alumni my resume and I have been referred by them to various companies, which have lead to interviews.
If anyone is hesitant on even reaching out to Coding Temple, my advice is to go for it. I was able to change my career completely because of this course. You just have to put in the work.

I took this course and loved the hands-on experience with the professor. It was much better than the online courses/tutorials I was using. They have these discussion classes along with the class meant to support students who need help. I finished the full stack course within 3 months and they found me a job right away. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in becoming a developer. I appreciate everything Coding Temple has done for my career!

Great experience!
Before Coding Temple, I was an Applications Systems Analyst. I had 1-2 years experiences in occasional coding and wanted to learn about Data Science and Web development in Python at Coding Temple because of its structured curriculum and hands on coding. Now I work as Associate Software Engineer and I couldn't be happier! I highly recommend Coding Temple if you want to learn computer programming.

I graduated college going into a sector I didn't like and on the recommendation of a friend that went through Coding Temple I made the jump. I had limited prior experience to JS from one college course and some R experience from learning online on my own.
I'm going to start with my advice because with will be long and most people won't read through: Do the assigned prework. Spending your nights the two-three weeks before the course to learn will allow you to move through the class at the required pace. Treat this like your full-time job. I spent the first four weeks winging it because I had prior experience and found I needed to kick into higher gear to keep pace with my class.
Overall an incredible experience that I'm glad I did. I am much happier at my current job. This course pays for itself in salary earned and job satisfaction.
Curriculum:
I found the curriculum challenging, but well designed. Starting with HTML was a nice way to start and see actual progress but also learn how on missing '>' or ';' can mess up a whole page. For python, learning the basics of loops leads well into learning about setting up a back end for a website and finally adding javascript to add more flair or advanced topics to a web app as you approach working on a final project. The best part about the curriculum was the use of modern frameworks. Flask for python and React-Redux for Javascript are two newer but rapidly expanding frameworks and leave you with good job opportunities.
Instructors:
Joe and Derek were awesome instructors. We had Derek for python and Joe for JS. Both had different teaching styles but had good excercises based on the material that caused us to think a little outside the box, but still use what we had learned to create something cool.
The School:
I loved the setting of the school. The two classrooms were a good setup to work collaboratively with other students and the main space was a good place to hang out, work, and ask questions. It does get a bit loud in their after school, but any office where you are working collaboratively won't be quiet and is a good way to learn to focus. They have ping pong, darts (my personal favorite), and video games to use during lunch or when you are done. My best experiences were in main area after work was done forming the community with our class and the other classes that were in there. It is quite brilliant the way they have the two classes offset. Your first three weeks are the last three for the other class where you get to see the final projects and learn what the experience is like and your last three weeks, you get to share your wisdom with new people coming in
Job Assistance:
Ripal was the man when it came to job assistance. He was reaching out daily until everyone in my class got a job they were happy with. He has incredible connections with companies and staffing agencies helping you set goals of applications and interviews. The Coding Temple alumni network is also an incredible resource offering us extra classes on Tableau and Hadoop and getting us meetings from grads that are now 3 years into successful development careers.

I graduated from college with a degree in advertising and worked at a couple of agencies out of school. I realized I was not happy in my job and had always been interested in software development. I reached out to a friend who had gone to a coding bootcamp and he recommended Coding Temple. He put me in touch with Ripal, who was extremely helpful from the moment I met him. He answered any and every question that I had and made sure I knew what I was getting into.
This is not a course where one can just show up every day and expect to be successful at the end of the 10 weeks. The course is fast-paced and loaded with new information every day and is also project-oriented with real world situations that you can talk about in interviews. Each day builds on the previous day and it is vital to stay on top of the work.
If you do, however, find yourself behind or not understanding a topic, the instructors are approachable, friendly, and always willing to help. There have been numerous times that an instructor has stayed late with either me or a classmate to make sure we truly understood what we were doing and we were ready to hit the ground running the next day. Even if you don't need help, the instructors are almost always willing to stay after for a beer or two and just hang out!
Not only is Ripal there in the beginning, but around the 5th or 6th week he begins preparing the class for the job search. He helped us rewrite our resume, set up our LinkedIn accounts, get our resumes on the best job boards, etc. After the 10 weeks are over, Ripal set up multiple meetings with recruiters, alumni, and other connections that he has made over the years.
So whether you are looking to change careers or you just want some real world projects to supplement your CS degree, Coding Temple will give you all of the tools you need to be successful. The rest is up to you!

I attended the Python program at Coding Temple Boston in the fall semester. The pace of the class was definitely rigorous, but the instructor was excellent and cared a lot about ensuring that we followed the material. He was often available after class for extra help and always available by email. This dedication by the professor made the fast pace managable.
The course was a good split of javascript and python, with some SQL and data science at the end. Now that I am in the interview process, I feel like I was well prepared for an entry level position.
Definitely reccomend this program! -

I went into Coding Temple with no computer science or programming background, besides some research and part of an online class that went over some basic Python concepts. I'll admit, the first couple weeks were definitely eye-opening and difficult, but it is so worth it to stick with it! The instructor was patient and always willing to help and break things down when I was confused. The class moves quickly, so you definitely need to be prepared for that. Just when you are starting to understand one concept, the next one begins. It isn't a bad thing, but because the pace is so quick, it is useful to review the older topics (when you can) as you are learning the new ones.
I was worried about being able to find a job after the bootcamp when my background wasn't in tech, but I was just offered a position (only about a month after the course ended)! If you're ready to put in the work and time, it is absolutely worth it. It won't be easy, but when you finish you'll be amazed at how much you learned in such a short period of time. If you are a career-changer like me and thinking about coding, definitely take a look and try it!

My experience at Coding Temple was sublime. The quality, dedication, and commitment to student success that is central to the culture at Coding Temple is pervasive throughout every individual associated with the organization. It is immediately apparent that the growth of students, both personally and professionally, is the impetus behind every action of the Coding Temple staff.
Curriculum is fast-paced, but also uniquely tailored to individual student interests and career aspirations. Instructors are attentive, responsive, and constantly available to provide guidance through difficult course material. Yes, coding boot camp can be tough, requiring long hours both in and out of the classroom. However, the resultant development of immediately marketable and employable skills is directly proportional to the amount of effort put in by the student. With the tutelage of Derek and Joe, in a scant 10 weeks I went from utter coding naïveté to a solid understanding of the fundamentals of programming and an excellent working knowledge of Python and a wide diversity of associated libraries.
The quality of the career services mirrors the quality of the other aspects of Coding Temple; they are superb. Ripal helped to revamp my résumé to match my distinct and individual career interests. Within a day of posting my information on job boards, I was awash in calls and emails with offers to interview at top-flight companies. It took less than two weeks for me to find a job in my desired field – data engineering – with a company that will continue to allow me to grow and flourish.
My time spent at Coding Temple was fun, interesting, and transformative. Coding Temple provided me with not just an education, but also with friends and colleagues. Coding Temple isn’t just a coding boot camp, it is a community whose members respect and value each other and the organization that brought them together.

I took the .NET/C# 10 week course at Coding Temple and it was worth every penny! I had zero experience in coding before deciding to step into this industry. I was fresh out of college with a degree that I was not sure I wanted to make a career out of so after lots of research I came across Software Development. I was referred to Coding Temple by a friend and it seemed like the best option compared to any other bootcamps relative to price, class size, and their raving reviews.
Attending this bootcamp will take a lot of dedication and you need to be ready to work! For me, it required quitting my job and putting my 100% into the course even before it started. It is so important to do the pre-work assigned prior to class and to fully understand it as well. It will go such a long way throughout the course. I also recommend self-teaching the basics of object-oriented programming prior to class so you are not left behind and playing catch-up throughout. You need to put a lot of effort, both in and out of class.
Joe is extremely knowledgeable and a great instructor! He made sure to help us understand and apply the material. There is one on one interaction with Joe throughout the whole course due to the small class size which came as great advantage for me. All the languages and material we covered through the course was up to date and most relevant with the job openings today which really helped throughout the job search.
Towards the end of the course, there was a lot of assistance through the job placement process. We received assistance with our portfolios, resumes, how to make a presence on job boards and LinkedIn, how to search for jobs, mock technical and behavioral interviews, list of possible technical interview questions, etc. Ripal helped tremendously throughout this whole process from matching with potential recruiters to providing possible job postings for roles that best match your interests.
I received a job offer a little over a month after finishing the course. The whole process is grueling and at times you will feel frustrated but it is well worth it in the end if you are looking for a change in career. Coding Temple is incredibly personable and everyone there is always willing to assist you throughout and make sure you succeed.

I recently attended Coding Temple and took part in the .NET cohort. I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I knew very little coding going into the bootcamp and learned even more than I had anticipated. The .NET cohort covers a great range of technical skills necessary for success as a Software Developer. I now have a job working with SQL, C#, and other skills I learned while I was a student. The class size was one of the deciding factors for me in choosing Coding Temple. The small class size helped with problem solving and if one of us was struggling, anyone was willing to help them. While I greatly enjoyed my time at Coding Temple, it was not without its challenges. It required dedication outside of class hours and active participation while I was in class every day. I had quit my job and knew I wanted to change my career, so it was 100% worth all of the time and effort this past summer. Joe, Ripal, and the entire Coding Temple staff were instrumental to my success. Joe is a phenomenal teacher and it was rare there was a question he could not answer. I could not be happier with my experience at Coding Temple and would highly recommend it to anyone!

I took a one day course at the coding temple over tableau. I had little to no experience with tableau, making me question if I would be able to keep up in the class. This was not the case. The instructor was very good at explaining any questions and would make sure the class was on the same page before moving on. The instructor would also go into detail on how you could apply these concepts in the workforce such as finding financial data. The class had a very interactive feel due to its size, almost like a one on one training session. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience at the coding temple. I was amazed at how comfortable I was with tableau after just a one day course. I would absolutely recommend their courses to anyone looking for a hands-on learning experience with a very helpful instructor.

I was always interested in learning how to code and being a developer, but thought I had missed the boat because I didn't study it in school. Then I found Coding Temple and was so excited to have the opportunity to learn how to be a software developer in just 10 weeks! It was scary quitting my job, but the bootcamp was more than worth it. I learned so much in the bootcamp and am thankful for the experience.
One thing I liked about Coding Temple more than other bootcamps is that it focuses on small class sizes. This was crucial for me because I didn't have much coding experience and I was worried about being left behind. My instructor Derek was a great teacher, answered all my questions, and made sure I really understood what we were doing. We worked on a lot of projects using the topics we were learning about and did one final capstone project. You really do get out of the class what you put into it though. You need to be invested and prepared to work hard.
Ripal has been great to work with for career assistance. He has connected me with recruiters and companies, helped me with my resume, and how to talk about my experience. I graduated less than a month ago and have already had 10+ first round interviews, 2 second round interviews, and 1 final interview. There really is a demnad for developers and Coding Temple will teach you everything you need to know.

I had virtually no coding experience going into the 11-week program, but I came out knowledgeable and confident. I was able to land a job as a Junior Developer about a month after graduating the course. Small class sizes and extremely knowledgeable instructors make Coding Temple well worth your money. Put in the time & effort, and remain curious and passionate, and you will be rewarded - as I was.

Going into this course, I told myself that the ONLY criteria upon which I would judge this course was if it led to me getting a job as a programmer. I was not disappointed.
TLDR:
If you take this course seriously, do all of the coursework and prework, and you genuinely enjoy what you're doing, you will grasp the fundamentals of programming and will get a good paying job. I found an amazing job shortly after graduation and therefore recommend this course 100%.Onto the review:
About 6 months before taking this course, I decided to switch jobs and was considering my options. That is when I came across "Coding Bootcamps". At first, I thought that they were too good to be true: Expensive, hyper specialized courses aimed at teaching you all the fundamentals to land a job as a programmer in about 10-12 weeks. After researching the heck out of them, I was convinced that they were indeed legit, and decided to look for a good local school to invest in.There were several choices that I had in the Chicagoland area. Coding Temple stood out as the most affordable, which immediately put them on my radar. While I didn't know the value of it yet, they were also one of the few schools teaching C# and Python, two of the most popular and useful programming languages. The rest of the schools that I've seen tend to focus on Javascript, which is useful, but in my experience, more helpful if you're looking for a front-end programming job.
I scheduled a visit to Coding Temple, and was immediately impressed by the lead instructor, Joe. His understanding and prior work experience was extensive. The layout of the classroom and break room were very nice, but overall the impression that I got from the instructor is what sealed the deal for me. I knew where I was going.
Before the course began, you are given course prework to do. DO IT! There were two students who never did the prework. Throughout the class, they were struggling and never really did catch up. I'm not sure if they got jobs after class was finished.
The first 5 weeks of class generally focused on front-end programming (HTML/CSS and Javascript). Because of it, I have a better understanding of front-end development than most of the back-end programmers that I work with. The second 5 weeks focus on the back-end (SQL, C#, ASP.NET MVC) and our final projects. The pace of the course definitely picks up as the course continues, so be prepared for that.
I really enjoyed the course hours: 9am to 3pm, Monday through Thursday. They give you a good amount of time to recoup and study after getting bombarded by information during class. Fridays are an optional study day. I would HIGHLY encourage you to go to these, since in my class, most people skipped Fridays. Coming to class on Friday was an excellent opportunity to get one on one instruction with Joe and to catch up on concepts from the week.
The final week of class focuses on wrapping up your Final Project/Resumes and preparing them for the recruiters. In my opinion, Coding Temple does a great job sourcing recruiters from top staffing companies in the Chicagoland area. Ripal helped tremendously with my resume, which is part of why, I believe, I was able to land the job that I did.
Criticisms:
I only have 1 real criticism of the course. I wish the course were 11 weeks long, to give an extra week to wrap up the Final Project. Things seemed very rushed during the last couple days of class.Where am I now?:
I was able to land a great job as a .NET programmer at a top web development company in the Chicagoland area within about a month of graduating. I am surrounded by people with 4-year Computer Science degrees (I have a degree in Chemistry) and many of them even have Master's Degrees. Honestly, I feel like I cheated the system to get to where I am. It just seems too good to be true, but it's not!If you're looking for a Coding Bootcamp to become a Front-End, .NET or a Python developer, look no further than Coding Temple!

When I was first considering coding boot camps, I was very hesitant to make the investment. The Coding Temple reviews seemed too good to be true. After further investigation, I found out that some people I know through mutual friends have gone through the program and are very successful. I went in to meet the instructors and my mind was instantly at ease. Going through this program was the best career decision I have ever made. Not only did I gain a solid understanding of development, I learned how to debug and run through issues within programs. I tried the self-learning classes online and I now realize that the education I gained at the Coding Temple would have never been achieved if I continued to try and learn solo. It’s a very scary and intimidating process but in the end, I am extremely satisfied. It has been less than a month from my last day of class and I have had multiple job offers (I believe the only reason it took this long was because of the holidays). If you have any hesitations, I suggest reaching out to them or going in for a visit to see it for yourself.

I attended a Coding Temple Winter course back in 2016. I had graduated with a finance degree, but shortly after my job search I had realized that many of the jobs that I had an interest for required some sort of technical background. I attended the Coding Temple .NET course.
Small classroom setting
1-1 interaction with the instructor (TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS)
A lot of job preperation
I am currently using my finance background and my new technical skills at a career in Bank of America.

Before attending Coding Temple I was working in operations management. The pay was great but the job was mundaine and stressfull. I was attending school part-time and working towards getting a degree. A good friend of mine approached me and asked if I "wanted to become a software developer after taking a 10 week course at these new schools called coding bootcamps". I immediately told him that it was a scam and told him that it sounded too good to be true.
Intrested at what my friend told me I looked up coding bootcamps and found many testimonials online on various sites like youtube, reddit, various forums, and here at coursereport.com. I approached my friend and agreed to look around at various bootcamps, and that I would attend with him as long as we found one that we were both satisfied with. We ended up looking around at all the bootcamps with the best reviews and decided to contact them and visit. We headed downtown one day to visit various bootcamps and to make a decision if we found one that we wanted to attend.
The decision was easy, Coding Temple was the one. Ripal was one of our first contacts and also the most informative person we talked to that entire day. We even got to meet Joe who was going to be the instructor of the class we were interested in taking. That same day we had the opportunity to talk with students that were there and they all had positive things to say about Coding Temple. I would reccomend anybody planning on attending a coding bootcamp to do this and see if they get the same first impression from any other bootcamp.
Overall Experience (5 Stars) - Coding Temple is a very relaxed enviornment. Everyone there has a great attitude, and they all have an interest in your success. The school offers 2 classrooms where the instructors teach to the class and will answer any questions that you have. The teacher to student ratio is great, and allows you to have individual attention that no university or college will ever be able to offer.
Instructor (5 Stars) - The instructor for my class was Joe. He was very personable and very knowledgeable. He has many years of working in the industry, and any questions that you have about working as a developer he will be able to answer. Joe wants everyone to succesful and will do what he can to the best of his abilities.
Curriculum (5 Stars) - I ended up taking the .NET course and it was comprised of learning - C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular JS, SQL, Entity Framework, GitHub, and ASP.NET MVC. Don't worry if you don't know anything I just said because I didn't have any experiance with any of this before taking the course (My only experiance was Visual Basic in high school and C++ class that I took in college). Over the course of 10 weeks all the languages were broken down and learned week after week. **Disclaimer** You won't be an expert in any of these languages. If you put in the time and incorporate some study time you will be in a position to be job market ready. There was pre-work before starting the course (3 weeks) to teach you fundamentals of programming.
Job Assistance (5 Stars) - Ripal was the best resource for finding a job hands down. He helped with writing a resume and any questions you had writing a resume would be answered. He was always available on a chat platform we used to ask for advice, and would followup and give advice on what to do as your next steps. Additionally, at the end of the course we had recruiting companies come and you would present what you learned, and projects to them. The exposure, job assistance, advice, and other resources during the job search set Coding Temple apart from other coding bootcamps.
My entire class that finished the bootcamp ended up finding jobs. I feel that we were prepared very well and have a great future ahead.

Better than my college classes

Prior to Coding Temple, I attended some college classes and did some self-learning on the basics, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, even some SQL. I had a job in tech support using some light HTML and CSS, but I really wanted to get more into development. I wasn't getting the one on one attention I needed in college classes, and they weren't teaching us the newest technologies. I did a TON of research before choosing Coding Temple. The main thing for me was the .NET stack, which is very popular in the Chicagoland area. This meant better opportunities for me after completing the course. Joe was a fantastic teacher. He was charismatic and knowledgeable; he definitely knew his stuff and class was rarely boring. There's a new topic or technology about every week. Some lessons are more of an overview, while others are really in-depth. We learned C#, Angular, SQL, how to build and use a database, MVC, ASP.NET, and useful frameworks like Bootstrap and TypeScript. There was also a brief section where we learned about how to use an API and built an app with one. After completing the course, we got to meet with some recruiters and get on the job search right away. Some students had jobs within a week (mostly contract roles). I found one about 5 months after, since I was looking for a direct hire job in the suburbs. Ripal was really good about checking in with me every few weeks to see how the job search was going. Joe even put in a good word for me and helped me land my first development job (where I'm still currently working)! Overall I would say you needed to do some work prior to the bootcamp. Learn the basics, and you should be set up for success. It's not easy, nor should it be. It's for dedicated people who are serious about a career change. -

After I decided to do a coding bootcamp, I went to 5 diffferent schools and asked questions, sat in on classes and researched them heavily. After speaking to Joe, the .NET instructor, I decided this was the place I wanted to be. I went from not having any coding background to being headhunted by recruiters for developer roles. But this isn't a get rich quick scheme. The classes are challenging and you HAVE to put in the work. Just showing up is definitely not enough. You must work on projects at night after class and on weekends! There is a reason why developers get paid well and you will be learning a new language almost every week. But all the instructors are very helpful, make themselves available, and encourage you to grasp the knowledge. Ripal is great at getting you in front of employers and helping with the job search after you finish class. Also, a big perk is they offer scholarships and they do financing. This made it accessible to me and I am now proud to say, I'm a developer.

The best Boot Camp ever

Last winter, I made the decision to attend the Coding Temple. After 10 weeks of study and few months of work, I have realized, that this was one of my best decisions.
First of all, the atmosphere in Coding Temple is amazing. You don't feel like you are just a student. You feel that you are the part of the family. You feel that peaple around you, your teachers, Ripal, another students ... , they really care. They support you. They answer all your questions. They try to do their best to help you to become the best. And this motivates you.
Secondly, after finishing the course, you will have all skills that you will need at work. Of course, you will not have all knowladges. But you will know how to learn fast. And in developing world this is much more important. You will know how to solve problems, how to find and fix bugs, how to deal with new framework in a very short time and so on . And in the world when everything changes so fast, this is a necessary skill.
Thirdly, you not only learn a theory, you practice. You proctice a lot. You do projects every day. And after course you will have the whole GitHub repository full of code you wrote. And it will help you a lot in future.
And last, but not the least, you WILL get a job after graduation. All students from my class got a job within a month ot two. Ripal helps you to write a resume, prepare you for interview and help you during the whole proccess...
So, if you are thinking of joining the best bootcamp, Coding Temple is what you are looking for. And this 10 weeks will change your life.

An Ideal Learning Environment

My experience with coding and web developing was little to none before I started the Full-stack Python course at the Coding Temple. Now seven weeks into the course, and I can't believe how far I've come. The Coding Temple creates the ideal classroom environment by keeping class sizes small and allowing for plenty of hands on teaching from friendly and highly knowlegable Instructors. The course moves very quickly so this is quite important. The Instructors will answer every you ask but if you don't ask then they might now answer, so it is good practice just to ask a lot of questions. I would highly recommend this course to anybody who is interested and willing to learn this amazing trade.

Coding Temple proved to be everything it promised and more. A fun, intense course focusing on not just how stuff works but also makes you put all your learning into action, changing the way you think in 10 weeks.
Very supportive instructors and TAs. With a small class size, everyone was guaranteed individual attention. Amazing management who help you on every step from enrolling into the course of interest to job search.
The content of the course covers all aspects of the Fullstack from the front end to the back end involving all the current trend in technologies.
Got to learn a lot, code a lot and meet great people.
Definitely helped make my transition from a software dev to a FullStack smooth. -

Update 1 (2 months Post-Graduation): I'm working in Investment Banking through a fortitous series of events(NETWORK!) and I cant help but feel super grateful to my experience and the training I recieved at coding temple from the instructors and the staff. I feel prepared and am programming at a level I never thought I could achieve when I first started whiteboarding problems our first week in camp. If you are interested in finance or analytics, Python with Joel is the way to go. On to my original review:This is an exerpt from a message I sent to an inquiring potential student while I was enrolled at Coding Temple:
"Good on you for doing your research. Coding temple is good. I hadn't had much coding experience before and I will tell you that the earlier you start the better. Start now. Once we crossed into Javascript (week 2-5) I had to put in a lot of extra hours pouring over basic stuff and it was taxing. I think that you can't go wrong with any code camp, learning this skill is a valuable asset and a great idea. That being said, you will essentially get out whatever level of effort you bring to it. Unlike a traditional education program at a university, it is less like a course where you need to get good grades, but more like an apprenticeship or mentorship where all your success and failure is dependent on your ability to accept some direction from the instructors while simultaneously immersing yourself in the subject and spending lots of your own time and energy working through problems and testing your limits. As far as coding camps go, I'm sure you get what you pay for essentially. A larger, more established and expensive camp would probably provide a more intense experience than Coding Temple, but you're also more likely to be just another random face passing through. I felt like here everybody is very close to the students and eachother, and are committed and on a very close basis with the students (management constantly checks in on us and gets feedback both anonymously and verbally). It can seem like a more relaxed atmosphere and the instructors are laid back but they are industry veterans and know their shit. Its all about feeling like you can access them personally. Go to the different camps and get a tour. The best one is going to be the one you feel the biggest personal connection to. And as to the value of the camp, I feel like coding temple will definitely get me placed so the saved money from here versus hackreactor or full-stack is nice. So to reiterate everything and add in a few caveats, choose carefully but know that no single camp can make you into a programmer. Its all about how much of your own focused time and energy you spend punching away at the keyboard, its your own sweat and tears(many many tears) that allows you to breakthrough from abstract understanding to writing your own code. That being said, a coding camp can guide you and cut down the learning curve(which can be intimidating) significantly, and is well worth the investment if they have job placement and payment plans(so they have a financial interest in your success). Lastly, what environment are you looking to study in? That will determine which camp is best."

Worth every penny

I attended Coding Temple's full stack development course this year and found a Software Engineer 1 position less than 2 months later!
I do have a background in programming, I was in college as a Computer Science major for 1 year before dropping out, plus some visual basic experience in high school. If you have no programming experience going in you will do just fine IF you treat the 10 weeks like a full time job 40+ hours a week.
I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a rigorous program that teaches current code practices needed to get a job in the market today. You must be willing to work outside of class and do ALL of the pre-work. I myself went through a c# tutorial class from WiBit.Net as well as completing the pre-work before starting the first week. The people who dropped out of my cohort were the same people who did not complete the pre-work and got overwhelmed quickly. So as I said before, people of all backgrounds CAN excel in this program, if they have a genuine interest in coding and a desire to work/learn.
There is a lot of material and not a lot of time. We were only able to spend 1 week on angular which was not nearly enough in my opinion. The sections on C#, .NET MVC were the core strength of the program.
The atmosphere of the program was fantastic, felt like a San Francisco startup without the crazy! Joe, the .Net instructor, was an amazing teacher who can answer any question you can throw at him. His teaching style was engaging and informative. The small class size was the reason it was such a good course. Joe spent as much time as possible 1 on 1 with every student. The personal instruction and 1 on 1 help I received from Ripal with my resume and job search was what made the course exceptional!
Computer science is a Field that moves quicker than you can write textbooks about it. Having a senior developer who has been working in the field as your mentor and teacher is worth every penny.
4 steps to understanding
-
Clueless - you don’t know what you don’t know
-
Naively Confident- You think you know, but you still don't know what you don’t know
-This is where I was at going into the program -
Discouragingly Realistic -You know what you don’t know
-This is where you want to be, it means you can REALLY begin learning -
Mastery Achieved- you know it
-I am not sure if any programmer has ever achieved this level in this ever changing world!
If you are willing to put in the work to figure out what you don’t know, coding temple can get you over the first rise and over your first pothole if you are willing to ask questions and try. How far you master your skill past that is up to you. If you are serious about being a software dev Coding Temple is far and away worth your time and money.

Workshop

We had an amazing experience with coding temple at the University of Illinois at Chicago. They came to teach the students a workshop which was a great tool for any student in this generation. Majority of the students were unaware of this skill therefore it gave the students a proper insight and better understanding of what programming really is. Been given the opportunity to be able to attend such a great workshop and host it, inspired a lot of students to learn this course. Since they also had a small presentation where it showed how much easier it was to get a job after going through with this program. It wasn't just a workshop where they plainly just taught coding. But they also interacted with the students and showed how fun it could be.I believe it's a great and useful way for anyone to succeed more in the future. Coding temple does the perfect job to provide the right assets for the students to learn.

Well-Organized and Refreshingly Unprofessional

Note: This review is somewhat in response to the anonymous review posted on 4/2/2017, titled Disorganized and Unprofessional. Read that review if you want to know what Coding Temple is like for someone who is not genuinely interested in computer programming.
If you are interested in computer programming, and you've taught yourself enough about the subject to know that you can see yourself doing it for a career, then you should be more than happy to fork over the $10,000 investment in Coding Temple. The experience is 100% worth it if you want to start your way on becoming a programmer, or if you already have some experience and are just looking to refine your skills, you should still do it. You'll learn a ton, and more importantly the knowledge you gain will be immediatly applicable in the real world (meaning at a job or in personal projects).
If, however, you are not interested in programming, but instead are interested in making money from programming, then you will, I imagine, end up very unhappy at the end of your 10 weeks and $10,000.
My compatriot below, though his complaints are valid, should not deter any serious students from enrolling in Coding Temple. At least go down and give the place a visit. As soon as you step into main hangout space you'll be sold. While, yes, a monster TV, on-tap beer, and a ping pong (not fooseball) table seem like a recipe for distraction, it's really not that bad; and the boon of having chips, oatmeal, gronola bars, nuts, fruit snacks, coffee, and alcohol available whenever you need them is invaluable.
Not to mention that Joe (the .NET instructor) is a top-notch teacher, easy to talk to, and has what seems to be a bottomless wealth of knowledge about programming and the programming industry. If you have tried to teach yourself coding before and find that your brain is flooding with questions, fear not, for Joe can probably answer those questions, almost always in a non-jargony way.
Final thing: The reviewer who gave this school such a scathing review is a good example of someone who should not do this program. That's not to say that this reviewer is wrong, but I was in his/her class at Coding Temple and know that he/she was not only not interested in programming, but in fact didn't even do the small amount of pre-work we were asked to do before the start of class. I think he/she gave some of the questions a go, but clearly did not put in the effort required to understand the basics of programming. The pre-work is designed to give even complete beginners somewhere to start, so that by the time class has started, you at least understand enough so that everything the teacher says isn't gibberish. If you don't do the pre-work, don't learn about computer programming outside of class at least a little bit, and don't actively want to do both of these just for fun and learning, then don't expect to have fun at a place called Coding Temple; you would do well to respect the warning of my former classmate. If you don't love (or like the idea of) coding 24/7, then Coding Temple is going to be a torture chamber for you.
TL;DR You'll gain a hollistic, pragmatic understanding of computer programming, and you will get a job after (or even during) the program if you put in any amount of effort, and, most importantly, if you actually enjoy coding (or are at least interested and have done some prior research).
