Disorganized and Unprofessional

Those are the words that I would use to describe the experience that I had as a Full-time .NET student at Coding Temple. I can't emphasize enough how disappointed I am and was during my time as at this "school".
The Layout of the School
I don't really know where to begin with my dissatisfaction with Coding Temple. I will start with the bizarre physical set-up of the school itself: it's very similar to a college frat pad, but within the pad, there are two classrooms, both are poorly insulated from sound, but the .NET classroom is especially so. You can hear literally everything from the surrounding rooms, almost down to a whisper. Outside of the classrooms, there's a living room, with a fooseball table, two couches facing a big screen TV, some video game consoles, a bar-style kitchen, and an area to play darts. While this set-up may be appealing to some people, it wasn't for me, at all. You can hear literally everything that goes on in the living room, from the classroom: you can hear other students cheering as they play fooseball, loudly speaking to each other, and the TV blaring all-day. Since the classroom is also separated by a glass window, without blinds or shades, you can also see everything, too. There were so many daily (hourly, really) instances during the lesson that one of the students from the adjoining class, came out and made a ridiculous amount of noise. The isntructor, and the Coding Temple staff pay no attention to the fact that people are trying to learn (and mind you, paying quite a bit to do so)in the classroom, literally five feet away from them. Bottom line: if you are easily distracted (or, not even easily... absolutely anyone should expect to be distracted), this set-up will likely cripple your ability to learn.
The Students
I came into the program, with absolutely no experience, but I was clearly in the minority. Almost all of my classmates had some or considerably heavy exposure to computer programming. Because of the speed of the course, the depth of the subject and the careless assumption of the staff, there is essentially no learning curve: you jump right in, with very little introduction, and just do it. The program seems to clearly not be intended for students with no experience, so if you're like me, and come with no experience, you will likely sink very quickly, and have no concept of what you are doing, or how to even begin to get started. What you don't know, you may as well teach yourself, because the level of support provided is completely rushed, unsatisfactory and unuseful.
The issue was not only felt by me, but by a couple of others who also dropped-out of the cohort. The class started out with eight students, and after a week, there were seven, after two weeks, six, and after the third, five. The rigorous framework is not the issue, it's how it's delivered, and more realistically how absurdly disorganized the lessons are.
For the students that did have experience, prior to enrolling, they seemed to understand what was going on, or could grasp what was being introduced, but there seemed to be quite a few murmurs about lack of clarity, even from them.
Staff
The instructor for the course is really quite intelligent, and knows the industry, inside and out. He is patient if you have a *specific* issue, but for me, he was extremely technical in his delivery, often using jargon that I had never heard, with little to no explanation, which is okay for some subjects, but for computer programming, it can be incredibly frustrating to follow or connect the dots when a teacher is unable to convert that jargon into something more user friendly for novices or early learners. Oftentimes, his lectures left a lot to the imagination; there was a lot of skipping around, random, poorly placed visual components, and complete ommission of important topics.
The speed was, as to be expected for a bootcamp, break-neck. We were expected to "learn" JavaScript in 2.5 days, and by learn... I mean, master. It may work for some people, but those sorts of expectations are completely unreasonable. If you can't keep up, you had better grab an energy drink, and prepare to teach yourself, at home, on your own, using a different resources (not Coding Temple's), to battle through a way to catch-up. Even then, the next day, there's something new, and if you didn't get the prior lesson before the new one, have fun putting the pieces together. The Coding Temple staff won't help you with that, either.
The staff is, for the most part, generally pleasant, but nobody goes out of their way to be especially helpful. The teacher assistant that spent time in my course was an interesting guy: he had no interest in the subject that was being addressed, slept on his laptop during one of the days, and was not actually "present". Aside from him, once class is over, the staff goes into the living room, and hangs out, plays video games or watches TV. So, if you need something, you have to interrupt whatever is going on, and ask for help... It feels very juvenile, uncomfortable, and unnecessary.
The Format
The course is 10-weeks long, so there's definitely an element of urgency to mastering the subjects presented to you, in that short amount of time. The pace may be an issue, and could be the reason so much was omitted from the lessons. So, filling those gaps that weren't taught can be an overwhelming challenge. Most of the gaps that need be filled in should be done, outside of class, on your own. Having to fill those gaps, while also catching-up with the pace of the course, is essentially the most frustrating part of the experience. The course does an incredibly poor job covering the basics of really, anything. The instructor speaks to you, as if you already know the jargon (even if you don't), and provides nothing in the way of crash-coursing any concepts. Again, you hit the ground running, and if you want to succeed (and more importantly, get a job), and you're a beginner with no experience, this should serve as a warning to look elsewhere for a more learner-friendly bootcamp.
The Tuition
The tuition is $10,000 for a full-time course, which is pretty high, but not as high as some other bootcamps. With a price tag that reaches 5-figures, you are making a sizeable investment. With an investment like that, you can only hope for a return. In my case (and possibly your case), this was just wasn't true. You are better off taking your hard-earned money and either investing it into a more reputable, stable and well-established school, or saving it and studying on your own. Coding Temple is nowhere near worth the cost of tuition. The amount of time that you put into self-teaching, while in the course, and the constant head-scratching while listening to the instructor, and of course... the endlessly loud environment, makes your investment worth nothing. Here's what you pay for: a seat in a shabby classroom, lectures that are disorganized and lacking direction or clarity, free granola bars, a place to hang-out, and resources to help you find a job (if you get that far). That's it. It doesn't seem like you are paying for an education, you are paying for Coding Temple to provide you with networking opportunities. For some people that may be okay, but not for me... Not for $10,000. That's what networking events and LinkedIn are for.
Take Away
Do I regret my decision to enroll at Coding Temple? Absolutely. I can definitively say, this was one of the worst decisions I've made in my life, and I am sorely, financially regretting it. Was it worth it? To me, not at all. I really, truly, learned nothing. The one lesson that can be taken away from my time at Coding Temple is this: if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. In the case of Coding Temple, everything sounded great *before* enrolling, and then came crashing down once in the program.
Bottom line: if you would like to learn how to code, consider applying to a different bootcamp. There are many others in Chicago that are much more respected and esteemed. Coding Temple may work for people who already know how to code, and just want a place to hang out for ten-weeks and then get a job, but if you actually want to learn, and want to see true value in your investment, you may be incredibly disappointed.Ripal Patel of Coding Temple

We've attempted to reach out to "A." to resolve some of their concerns in an amicable manner. In the interim, we feel that it is important to acknowledge that, for several reasons, we did not meet the expectation of a student that enrolled our full-time .NET Class.
Specifically, the Coding Temple team would like to address criticism about the level of professionalism demonstrated by our instructors, our facility, our curriculum, and our expectations of enrollees.
One of our goals at Coding Temple is to balance the demanding pace of the course material with a relaxed learning environment.
After several hours of intensive instruction, we often encourage students to utilize our lounge area to play games or to converse with fellow students or instructors.
To this end, we furnish a full-size ping pong table, several video game systems, a dartboard, and board games for students to use during designated break times.
At the time of this writing, I will note that we do not, in fact, have a fooseball table, though we may consider adding one in the future.
We also frequently have music playing in the lounge, but actively monitor the volume so as not to distract from class activities.
Given the construction and size of the facility, this can create noticable amount of noise.
As such, we strongly discourage students from playing ping-pong or engaging in loud activities during lectures, and we feel that the noise levels during lectures are in line with a typical office environment.
That said, each student will have their own subjective tolerance for ambient noise and chatter.
We encourage all of our prospective enrollees to visit our facility prior to enrolling in our courses, which should provide a sense of the environment and pace of instruction.
We briefly interview each prospective student to get a sense of aptitude and to undestand their expectations.
Ultimately, we try to advise each prospective student on an appropriate way to become a software developer - in many cases, we've suggested alternate materials and courses that are aligned with their aptitide and expectations.
As "A." points out, it is possible to teach yourself to code using freely available online tutorials, and some of our prospective enrollees may also benefit from a more traditional learning environment that moves at a more relaxed pace and spends more time on each topic.
We ask each prospective student about prior experience with computer programming, and clearly outline the commitment of time and effort required both in and out of class by each student.
In the case of reviewer "A.", there was a clear miscommunication on both of these issues.
Moving forward, we've modified our enrollment process to make sure that such miscommunications do not happen in the future.
We'll continue to examine our process for evaluating applicatants to make sure that we meet the expectations of everyone who enrolls.
Per the organization and delivery of the material, we've spent a great deal of time creating a scaffolded curriculum that builds toward overall understanding of the concepts of full-stack web development.
We feel that the terms, concepts, and tools covered in our provided curriculum and used during class are adequate to teach the skills required.
As reviewer "A." points out, there is an abundance of online learning material that can be extremely helpful in supplementing the instruction and materials provided by Coding Temple,
Students may benefit from differentiated instruction or explanation not provided by Coding Temple.
One of the challenges of teaching web development is the constantly-evolving ecosystem of technologies.
Our instructors are constantly updating and refining materials to keep topics relevent, and to create materials to differentiate content based on individual student aptitude.
At the conclusion of each course we actively solicit feedback from students to understand where we can improve our course materials, and instructors put in a great deal of effort outside of instruction hours to provide the best curriculum we can.
In conclusion, we take this sort of feedback seriously.
We want each student to have a positive experience at Coding Temple.
As this review clearly indicates, we did not meet the expectations of "A." in terms of learning environment, level of professionalism, or course material.
We are attempting to address the concerns as we've outlined, and we're confident that that changes we are making will have a positive impact on the experience of our future students. -

Six Months ago, I found myself on this very site reading about Coding Temple as well as other bootcamps hoping to learn more about this interesting new avenue. I had dabbled in HTML/CSS, but had nearly zero experience when it came to actual programming. I decided I wanted to change that. Before long, I was booking a visit to head down to Coding Temple's office in downtown Chicago to check it out and learn more about the programs available.
Right around Christmas I made the decision to go for it and signed up for the inaugural Python Full Stack course. It was a scary decision to say the least but I would do it all over again if asked. The Python course was awesome, Joel (the instructor) was knowledgable, kind, and most importantly went to great lengths to make sure all students in the class were able to comprehend the material.
I can't say enough great things about Joel, Coding Temple, or the Python course itself. Going into my final week, I accepted a job as a Software Developer at a very large IT consulting firm and am also comfortably handling a couple of my own projects thanks to what I learned at Coding Temple.
In addition, I spent a lot of time talking with Joe (the C#/.NET instructor) and sat in on a class of his as well. He is a veteran of tech through and through yet plenty amicable and comprehensive in his approach in his own right.
If you're like I was six months ago hoping that this might be something that could change your life for the better, give it a shot. I don't think you'll regret it.

While researching coding bootcamps in Chicago, Coding Temple stood out to me because of the focus on the Microsoft .NET stack, small class sizes, and positive Course Report reviews. I signed up for the Winter cohort after attending a Meetup, where I was able to connect with several alumni and the course instructor to get my questions answered, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. As someone whose only prior experience with coding was some HTML/CSS and a single Ruby on Rails tutorial, I felt the course was really well-paced and there was a lot of individual assistance throughout. Joe, the instructor, is incredibly knowledgeable and has a strong professional background that informs the content of the curriculum, ensuring you learn how the theory and technologies are applied in a real-life work environment. I was very happy with the portfolio of work I put together over the session, and there were several opportunities to present projects to recruiters and practice for technical interviews. Ripal, the business development manager, was a great resource throughout my job search, and was excellent at connecting us with contacts and positions that suited our interests. A few weeks after graduating, I received two job offers in the industry, and I'm grateful to everyone at Coding Temple for providing an effective experience in a positive, friendly environment.

I was part of the full time/full stack .net course. Since the beginning it was a challenging course but the instructors are there to answer any question you may have; the classes are small so you can get the most out of it. The thing that I loved about the course is the hands-on experience, the chance to create your own projects, so you can see what you really know and what you need to study a bit more. It was really well taught; to the point that someone who never had contact with coding could learn and comprehend it. Super friendly environment, the staff are all great people that will help you at any way they can. It was a great experience overall; definitely one the best choice I've made.

I took the Javascript Part-Time course in the fall, and I have to say that it was one of the best decisions. I feel like I learned more real skills that I would use working in the 10 weeks than I did in my 4 years of undergrad. Coding Temple is very focused on hands-on experience which I think was the key in learning so quickly and in-depth. They are also very good about helping find a job after you graduate which I think makes them stand out from other bootcamps. Great school and also great people that run it.

I found Coding Temple during my search for a career change. Programming is something I have always wanted to do, so I decided to give it a shot. Overall I had a great exerience at the Coding Temple. There is a great environment and the small class size really allows the instructor to be available whenver you need him. Joe was extremely knowledgable and professional. Ripal was very helpful with job placement. Several recruting companies came in to meet the class. I was actually able to find a job the following week of Coding Temple. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into coding!

I took the full time/full stack .net course which is a 10 week class. From start to finish I found the course extremely challenging but also rewarding, and importantly each class assignment turns into a project for your portfolio. Most importantly though not only did I feel ready to take on the technical aspects of a job as a developer, Coding Temple leverages their resources with the tech recruiting community to help find your first position. I graduated the course on Thursday and reported to my first full time paid developer position on Monday just 4 days later. The skills, portfolio, and recruiting prep you receive at Coding Temple I believe sets them above other competitors.

Coding Temple was a truly amazing opportunity. The focus on .Net and the smaller class size really sets it apart. The curriculum is in-depth, well taught, and really practical. They're also great about connecting their students with recruiters and advocating for them. I booked a coding job less than a day after I finished. Also, they make themselves available to you post graduation as you progress in your career. This can be an invaluable asset if you want to brush up on a technology, prepare for an interview, or are just looking for advice from a senior developer. One of the best choices I've ever made.

The .NET course was really helpful and learn a lot about different concepts and used various tools throughout the course. The instructor is really good at teaching different concepts and good at explaining how each concept works for all languages. He was also good at helping out with hands on concepts and work with strudents one on one to help understand the concept better. We build many different applications throughout the course. I worked on building a e-commerce application for a clothing line. There was a lot of different pair programming and group that was involved at Coding Temple, which I really enjoyed. I would recommand anyone that wants to learn .NET.

I attended a beginner SQL course. The course was very interactive as well as informative. jennifer the instructor did a very good job at making sure everyone was following along and understanding the material being taught. The course moves at very good pace allowing students to rasp the material very well. Also during the course there was a breif presentation by robert half who demonstrated how much of a dmeand there was for people with skills in SQL, also they remained after the course to provde help with students looking for jobs. I would definetly recommend taking a course or attending a workshop at coding temple as they have very skilled teachers, and their strong focus on helping their students get placed in the work force after graduation.

I was a student for Coding Temple's first cohort and I can defnitely say that it was a valuable experience. The instructor, Hitesh, was an expert at all the topics that were covered and was able to answer every student's questions and provide us his insight from his career experience. The class size is kept under 8 students so everyone has their indivdual attention and learning needs accomodated for. There are multiple projects assigned throughout the course that forces you to take a "learn by doing" approach; projects that are then available to add to your portfolio of development work. Since it was a part-time camp with an intense amount of topics that needed to be covered, the instructor also made himself available outside of class to assist anyone that needed additional help. Coding Temple provides you with all the resorces and infomation needed to develop your skills to be fit for an entry level development role. The experience was nothing short of superb.

I attended the introduction to C# event through Meetup this weekend and it was much more informative than I expected for a free workshop. The presenter/instructor, Avi, that taught the workshop was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
My main intention for attending the workshop was to see if I would fit in the 12-week course that is coming up in January and I was assured that my very limited understanding of programming would be just fine. I'm looking forward to future workshops and hopefully being accepted into Coding Temples next course.

Coding temple is a very great way to start your computer science experience. And if you have experience than you can also get master at it and expand your knowledge on various topics... Location is best .. Close to union station or you can take cta trains too. Teaching and organizing staff are awesome. They will work with you at your on convinent time. They will do everything that they possibly can do to help you like skype help, out side school help and also they can meet you up in near by location. Instructor will give you real life example to explain you what is exactly your are require to do in this field. They will also train you for interview and also they will train you at your best. It requires more time outside of on campus classes but at the end it will pay of good:)

I attended Coding Temple's C# workshop this week and found it really helpful. I was not too familiar with the language prior to the session, but the instructor did a good job at introducing it to us. I talked to a couple members of the team afterwards as well and they were really helpful in answering all my questions about the courses they are offering. I can't wait to see what big things this school will do!

I think it's worth it

My experience with Coding Temple has been okay overall. I’d give it four stars, not because it was an exceptional program where the staff went above and beyond, but because it did what it promised: provided a structured outline to follow and helped me stay accountable.
I did the asynchronous course, which meant I was mostly working independently through lectures and videos. This setup definitely requires a lot of self-motivation, it’s not the kind of program where you’ll be handheld to the finish line. You need to be willing to put in consistent effort, often 4–8 hours a day, and manage the challenge of retaining a huge amount of information on your own.
The support team was fairly quick to respond whenever I had questions, which I appreciated. However, one challenge I ran into was that the curriculum is being updated constantly. While I understand this is a reflection of how fast the tech industry changes, it sometimes made the learning process a bit confusing.
That said, I do think the program is valuable. It gives you the foundation and structure you need to build skills, and the fact that you’re paying for it adds an extra push to stay disciplined. But it’s important to be realistic: Coding Temple won’t, on its own, fully prepare you for a full-time software engineering role. It equips you with the basics, but success depends on putting in extra time and studying beyond what the course offers.
In short: Coding Temple is a good program for motivated self-starters who want structure and a baseline education in software development. It’s worth the investment if you’re willing to put in the extra work outside of the curriculum. Also, shoutout Jessica Sosa for being so helpful throughout my time at Coding Temple. -

challenging, intense and stressful
This week marked my first week in this bootcamp, i must say that i did not expected to be so overwhelmed, lots of information and lack of support i can also say. I have tried to get some clarification on the project but it seems only 2 or 3 people were available for all the students. I hope that I can finish this bootcampRuta Kuisyte of Coding Temple

My journey with Coding Temple

This is the only SE bootcamp I have experienced, so I cannot compare to others, but overall I had a positive experience with Coding Temple. I did the self paced SE program. While learning the core material Coding Temple made some changes to the structure of the teaching, it felt hard to keep up with the changes for a little while, but it seems like the changes are settled down. Katelyn Mehner was a great resource while learning the core material, ready to help with any question you throw at her. The backend specialization was really well organized and well taught by Dylan Katina. The effort that you put in the program is what you'll get out of it and I think that really applies to the self paced course. Coding Temple has all the material, great instructors, career resources and more, if you put in the effort Coding Temple will help you get the most out of the program.Ruta Kuisyte of Coding Temple

They are always trying to improve, which is great. Things will change often, but if something doesn't work out, they’ll help you go back to the older version. The staff is great and easy to reach.
The core curriculum felt fast-paced and didn’t go very deep into some topics, and it was hard to grasp without a technical background. But overall, I enjoyed the program, especially the backend specialization. They offer other specializations too.
Dylan was the best part of the backend experience. He was always there to help. Any time you had a question, he took the time to explain things clearly and would sit with you to figure out errors. He put real effort into creating a strong curriculum that takes you from zero all the way to deployment. I learned a lot from him, and his teaching made the backend part of the course not just doable but enjoyable.
Michael always helps us get career ready and introduces concepts outside of the curriculum, which is super important for both job applications and understanding real-world systems. He genuinely cares and is always there when you reach out.
Sean supported me from day one, and I owe him. Jessica was really patient and helped me learn how to solve problems when I didn’t know anything.Thank you to all the instructors for trying to help us as much as they can. I haven’t applied for jobs yet, but I’m confident they’ll support me when I do. Staff turnover happens from time to time, which can make things feel a bit uncertain, but I still appreciate the effort everyone puts in to support us. You just need to put some effort in too. Don’t feel shy to reach out for help. Before the program starts, they give you some basic material, which is helpful, but it doesn’t really cover the deeper ideas or explain how things actually work together. Having something that introduces more foundational understanding, not just tools but the ideas behind them, would make a big difference for people coming in with no background.
They used to have advanced problem-solving sessions with tougher challenges that helped build confidence and push us a bit further. Now there are whiteboard sessions, which are good, but I wish there were more chances to watch more difficult problems being solved live, step by step, by experienced people.
If you don’t have a tech background, I’d definitely recommend starting to learn some of the harder or general concepts early. It really helps once the program starts.Ruta Kuisyte of Coding Temple

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful - I really appreciate your honesty and your kind words about our team :) I'm especially grateful you gave shout-outs to Dylan, Michael, Sean, and Yessica - they care so deeply about student success, and it means the world to see that reflected back. I made sure your feedback got to them! You're absolutely right - we’re always evolving and trying to improve, but we know that pace of change can sometimes feel like a double-edged sword. Thank you for acknowledging the effort we make to listen and adapt when something isn’t working - and thank you for sticking with us through the updates. We also hear you loud and clear on the need for deeper foundational support, especially for folks coming in without a tech background, and that feedback is already helping us shape what’s next.I also really appreciate the callout about advanced problem-solving sessions. That push to go further - and see how experienced engineers think through complex problems - is something we’re working on reintegrating into our new live support calendar. Your comment was perfectly timed, and we’ll be using it to inform our next steps. You’ve clearly put in real effort, real care, and real reflection - and that’s what makes this journey work. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we’ll be here cheering you on when you’re ready to start the job hunt. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ve got your back. 💪

I recently completed the part-time, online Software Engineering Bootcamp at Coding Temple, specializing in Front End Development, and overall, I had a positive experience.I chose Coding Temple because of its strong reputation, the included career support, and the flexibility it offered—I needed a program that could fit into my busy schedule while I worked full-time. That said, I want to highlight both the high points and the challenges of my journey.
The instructors were phenomenal. In particular, I can't say enough good things about Allan Ahmed and Daniel Erazo. Daniel was incredibly helpful—even on weekends—consistently answering questions and offering guidance. Allan was my instructor for most of the Core phase, and again during the Frontend Specialization. He truly went above and beyond—often staying past scheduled Zoom sessions to make sure I understood the objectives and that my code was working properly. As I was finishing my final project, Allan spent over an hour and a half with me, patiently debugging until everything finally worked. He was always quick to offer encouragement and support.
However, the program did have some rough patches. About halfway through, the structure of the course was significantly changed. As a result, the transition at the end of the Core phase felt disorganized. It became unclear who to turn to for help, and at times, it was extremely difficult to get the support I needed.
Despite the challenges, I successfully earned my Software Engineering Certification and developed a strong foundation in fullstack development. I would definitely recommend Coding Temple to others—but with a word of caution: be prepared for a serious time commitment. Balancing a full-time job and the bootcamp was incredibly demanding. Every spare minute outside of work went toward completing assignments and learning.Ruta Kuisyte of Coding Temple

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this, and huge congratulations on completing the program while juggling full-time work — that’s no small feat, and we see the grit it took to get here. It means a lot to hear how impactful Allan and Daniel were throughout your journey. They truly go above and beyond, and your shoutout is so appreciated — I’ll be sure to pass this on to them directly. You also raised an important point about the mid-program transition. I’m genuinely sorry that shift created moments of confusion and made it harder to get the support you needed. We're actively working to smooth out those rough edges and ensure every student always knows exactly where to turn — no matter what phase they’re in. I’m so glad to hear you walked away with a strong foundation and a finished final project you can be proud of. You’ve already proven how dedicated and capable you are — and we’re here for you through the job search phase too. Let us know how we can keep supporting you. You did an incredible job. Thanks again for being part of the community and sharing your story so openly. 💛
Kind regards,

Let down post-bootcamp

My experience during the bootcamp was great, the instructors were all awesome and I had all the support I needed to complete the course. However, once I graduated, I realized that the course material was hardly relevant to the current job market. I was looking for part-time positions, and of the thousands of positions I reviewed online, not one had prerequisites the bootcamp prepared me for. So I couldn't apply to any jobs, and their money-back guarantee is voided if you don't apply to 10 jobs a week. When I asked to receive further instruction, I was told to ask ChatGPT. Also, apparently the vast majority of Coding Temple graduates who have landed jobs already had a bachelor's or master's degree. So probably just get one of those instead, or try a different bootcamp. Overall, I'm happy with my experience learning the material, but not optimistic anything will come of my time here. Don't recommend it.

What a waste
No refund and no job and going on a year. Asked about a refund even though we were certain we would not get it and have not heard back. They should not guarantee something unless they back it up and I will tell you my husband was the top of his class and not one person from his class has a job yet. It's almost a year sinse he finished. -

Life changing experience!
I was able to learn new skills that I can actually apply to a real job in such a shorter amount of time than attending a 4 year college program. I increased my salary and had a better work life balance. Coding temple had damaging teachers and career support. Best decision ever. -

So bad in so many ways

I really could write a book about how horrible this bootcamp is (but I'll keep it brief). For one, there is no vetting of the students. The bootcamp will literally will accept anyone, even if he never saw a computer before. One student asked how to add spaces between lines (answer: hit the enter button). It took so long for students to do simple things or understand basic concepts. Instructors were also new to coding, which made the pace of the class so painfully slow. I was hoping that at least the career services would be helpful considering the "Job Guarantee" (tuition refunded after nine months if no job), but the job placement assistance is a total joke. They send bootcamp graduates emails containing severely outdated jobs (several years old in some cases), jobs not at all matching what was taught at all, and jobs that we are completely unqualified for. Also, the Job Guarantee has conditions that are impossible to maintain for nine months. In my cohort's group chat on discord, everyone is saying that they feel like they got scammed/ripped off. None (not even the top student) is anywhere near getting an interview for a coding job, let alone landing one. -

It was an amazing experience!
Throughout these 4 months I have learned so much and gained amazing friends along the way. My favorite instructor was Dylan katina. He was very nice and thorough with his teaching. It made everything very understandable! -

This Course was Effective.

To those wondering if they should enroll in Coding Temple, I would recommend it. First and foremost the school is affordable, (not necessarily cheap), but definitely cost effective. I liked that they give an option of how you want to go about your education (I chose the flex-go at your own pace route). The subject matter was for the most part not dificult to understad, hough I had some issues towards the end. I was also impressed by the sheer bulk of additonal resouces provided pertaining to the curriculum. I would rate the school an 8/10. Again, highly recommended to those looking for a low risk/high reward path into the IT career field. -

Wonderful school and teachers

I graduated from the full time software engineering course about a month ago, and this review has been long overdue. I took the course with Brian and Travis, and had an incredible experience. Brian’s teaching style was very easy to follow and understand, while Travis was incredibly supportive in his role. Whenever I needed help, I knew I could rely on both of them to help. In fact, every member of the staff that I have worked with has been in red generous with their time. I learned more than I could’ve imagined, and I feel that they have prepared me to embark on a new career with confidence. -

Informative and fast paced

I came in with virtually 0 coding experience and was not sure what to expect. The full time course packs a lot of curriculum into 10ish weeks which can be a lot on your plate, especially if you don't have experience, but I think the instructors were very helpful and available and I was pleasantly surprised with how much progress I made in such a little time. I will need to continue to internalize and get deeper into what we learned, but I think expecting to fully learn and master so much information in 10 weeks is unrealistic anyway. The course was informative and I liked how everything came together at the end and I was very happy with it! - The only thing I think could have been better is having more time to learn in more depth but it seems like their career services will take on that journey from here! -

awesome experience

I loved the flexibility offered by the flex software engineering program. I have a full time job and a family. I couldn't afford to a full time bootcamp and have no income. Coding Temple seemed to offer experience I was looking for and they delivered. The instructors were both empowering and honest. I only wish I was able to attend more of the live sessions because I believe there was valuable information there as well. -

An experiance I'm glad I had the opportunity to experiance twice

I'll be honest, it had been almost 18 years since I was part of a class where I was a full-time student. This experince through Coding Temple has been quite challenging for me. It is extremely fast paced, with a lot of new information given to you on a daily basis. For someone like me, with absolutely zero experience or knowledge on anything coding related it was a bit overwhelming. Having said that, I have my instructors Ryan and Alex to thank for making this experiance managble. Their combined knowledge, experiance, patience, fun and approchable personalities made it easy to reach out to them whenever necessary. When I first started in 2023 a personal matter kept me from completing my course and I was really concerned for what that could mean. I really appreciated the staff at Coding Temple including my instructors who helped guide and inform me through what my options where at that time. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity of picking up my Sofware Enginnering journey with Ryan and Alex when I was ready to start up again. To my instructors I can't say enough how great you were and how much of a crucial role you played on my journey to completing this bootcamp. Ryan and Alex you both complement each other so well in the classroom, it would be a shame not to have the two of you working together offering that same experience to any future Coding Temple students. -

The Flex Data Analytics Course was a fantastic course to take with Coding Temple. It is very organized, very descriptive, and allows you to complete the course at your pace and time. I think that this is a good course for all individuals wanting to learning programming languages to manipulate data to create stories and manifest conclusions. I think the instructors at coding temple are very engaging, willing to lend a hand, and are very resourceful to provide extra material to refine skill sets. I would recommend this course to all individuals who want to take the next step in data analytics and develop knowledge in various programming languages. -

Full-Time Software Engineering Bootcamp

I come from zero background in tech, wanting to switch careers from Food & Beverage/Hospitality to Tech. From what I've experienced, if I could go back and start over knowing what I know today.... I would just do Udemy courses, practice coding on Leetcode and Codewars. There's no need to rush to finish a course fast because entry level jobs wants 3-5 years of experience (most of the time) it is something that takes time to be comfortable with. It's a marathon.... be patient, persist and give time to time. -

Amazing place!

Coding Temple is where you want to go if you want knowledgeable and helpful instructors. They are constantly evolving their curriculum to keep up to date with the ever changing trends. I took the full stack program, the staff is so wonderful and the teachers really care about your success. If you’re a total newbie like I was be prepared to have your mind blown! You will be dreaming in code by the end of the program. There were a couple advanced students in my class and they adjusted the topics so that it was challenging for everyone. If you’re doing full time, be prepared to spend four additional hours outside of school each day if you want to really make the most of this program. There are nightly assignments every night and weekend projects, both solo and group. I met some fantastic people, challenged myself, grew and learned so much. I don’t want to leave the school because they’ve been so great. If you care about your success, go here because they will take you to the next level!! 10/10 recommend, you will only regret it if you don’t put in your all.
