What matters for me is real success stories of both teachers and graduates. Careerist graduates work for tech giants such as meta or amazon. And teachers are current practitioners! That’s why I opted for Careerist. Now the funniest thing… When I graduated, I accepted an offer from a startup and not a tech giant because the conditions were simply superb…

Like any other course, whether it is online or in an university, this bootcamp have really good teachers that really know what they are talking about and are able to answer to random questions or give real life examples as well as simplified examples and also have teachers that they may be really good at their jobs, but they are not really good at teaching, some of them just read the slides and may have some difficulty trying to explain some concepts that may be obvious to a professional, but not so much to a beginner.
The first internship was really good, I was lucky to have the lead that I got, she was able to explain all the steps needed during the assignments of the tasks. This was definitely necessary to review some of the concepts that were not super clear to some of my classmates.
I am currently doing the second internship I look forward to meet with the mentors and to start using the job searching tool.Overall4.0Curriculum4.0Job supportN/AInstructors4.0 -

Careerist promises to give back 100% of the tuition fee to those who fail to get employed within 1 year after graduation. It made me feel more confident and I began to trust it more. I wanted a fully remote QA job with a flexible schedule and a decent salary. It took me four months to find such a job. Maybe, I could have coped faster. But honestly I didn’t concentrate my efforts exclusively on job search.

However, the QA lead of the external project wasn’t good with communication and could not elaborate on the tasks properly, but overall it was ok. The downside of the program is, Careerist is not honest with the Job market. It is challenging and almost impossible to find Jobs based on only manual QA experience; employers want people with QA Automation experience. I would have appreciated it if they were honest about this and gladly paid for the manual QA + Automation combo, knowing there would be a job for me when I finish the course. Careerist prefers when you do the manual QA first and then advise you and expect you to pay for the automation course(extra $4000) if you don’t get a job; that’s manipulation. It’s not a bad program/investment if jobs are available, but there aren’t; I’ve been looking for one for the past three months! So how can I pay a $4200 loan without a job? They also assured me of a money-back guarantee, but I doubt they will give me back my money if I don’t get a job; just another lie/scam.Overall1.0Curriculum3.0Job support1.0Instructors3.0Farida of Careerist

But in fact it turned out to be a really well-structured course with detailed information presented in a comprehensible form. But the best thing for me is that mentors do really help not to give up - they don’t only explain complex issues but also motivate and support. Now it’s 2.5 months after the course, my mentor still keeps in touch with me and I finally have my first offers! I’m very happy and thankful ☺️Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

What I want to say is that Careerist is not just a bunch of qualification courses. Careerist courses have 2 very important points that I can relate to. First – the tutors, the group, and the atmosphere itself keeps you on your toes and motivated. And second – you get hands-on experience through internships and a lot of help with your resume, Linkedin, and other profiles, so at the end of the day the course is made in such a way that you actually get a job in the sphere instead of just finishing another useless course.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

The mentor I had was very inexperienced and I felt cheated because the company advertised their mentorship program as one with experienced mentors. The resume writing assistance along with JAS application software they speak about are just selling points. In reality, it’s mostly DIY, where the resume writer gives you feedback and you input her suggestions yourself. The mentorship program is very shady, my understanding was that it would be with a real company but instead it’s what they call a “simulator internship,” where they repeat the same process that was carried out during regular classes. I would not recommend this course to anyone, keep your money!Overall1.0Curriculum1.0Job support1.0Instructors1.0Farida of Careerist
