I recently completed the web development program at BrainStation, and after much consideration, I decided to enroll in their UI Design course to enhance my web design skills. Looking back, I am extremely grateful for that decision because the learning outcomes were immensely valuable, especially in terms of acquiring figma-related skills.

I thought I was going to learn some "new skills" so I could just apply for designer jobs. Boy - I was wrong. Not only was this the hardest thing I have ever done scholastically, it was also the most rewarding. I truly had no idea what I was in for - I thought I would just be "creating" but what I do know now is becoming a UX/UI designer in this course has levelled me up.

My teachers were amazing, especially our TA Laura. Christina was also someone who will make the world greater.

At Brainstation, you quickly find that you're in a community and this community wants to see you succeed and not only that; they want to see you thrive.

This bootcamp stretched me mentally, emotionally, and physically but there is an end and if you can hold on, give yourself some grace, and take it one day at a time - you'll be ok. Read less

Junyi Wang was a great teacher and carried us through the data analytics process from beginning to end, from data gathering and initial exploratory analysis in Excel, through working with large datasets, more detailed analysis in SQL and conveying these finding in Tableau in a clear and professional manner. I have no doubt this will help me going forward in working in data, or taking these skills into another industry. Could not recommend enough. I took this course as a way to familiarize myself with modern marketing leadership strategies, themes and frameworks. As someone who's transitioning to a leadership role, it was valuable to learn and discuss the course material with experienced instructors and professionals. I recently completed the UX Design Certification at BrainStation. 
Most of my peers were interested in a career in UX design, and I think this was a great first step for them. 
My objective was to learn about UX Research and Design as well as the use of Figma as complementary skills for my career as a Product Manager.

I have been in the tech industry for many years.  I understand many concepts through experience, but I have to say that it felt good to sit down and pay attention in class.  Even though we were a small group, we shared and learned from our instructor and from one another.  Scott Weinreb has thoroughly gone thru all modules of the class and has done an excellent job at explaining and taking the time to teach while using his own professional experience.  I can honestly say that I walk away with a better understanding of some concepts that I thought I fully understood.  Thank you Scott for your dedication, and thank you everyone at BrainStation for the opportunity to learn. BrainStation and the courses they offer are a great way to jumpstart your education. I know for me, learning has always been a passion, but I struggle with keeping myself accountable long enough to learn the basics. BrainStation has been has been a valuable way to keep myself accountable while learning all the skills I need to get a jumpstart in the tech industry. Speaking only for the software development course, I learned the core tech stack to be a full stack developer, but more importantly, I was taught the skills to continue my education through self discipline and the skills to learn concepts and new technologies quickly. The Career Accelerator Program is also very valuable as it provides accountability through bi-weekly standups and check-ins to make sure you're putting your best foot forward in job applications. I found it very helpful to be able to reach out to the CAP team whenever I had questions about where to go, what to say during interviews, and what I should be focusing on. I found that the greatest value at BrainStation isn't the content of the courses you take. There are countless resources available to learn all of this on your own. The greatest value is the people and the support they give. I needed accountability and support to know what to focus on, and the BrainStation educators and support teams were always there to guide me and help me figure out my next steps. It is with their support and confidence that I have now landed a job in IT and am starting my own web development business. This course, cybersecurity, was a great intro to IT field. I am in construction industry and I wanted to increase my knowledge and understanding in information technologies. I have learned great concepts and we went over real life case studies. We did final projects to solidify the information we covered during the course. I came to this course at Brainstation looking to build some foundational skills in SQL and Tableau in particular, and that's exactly what I got.  I feel I got 100% of what I was looking for to be able to go out and put these things into practice to build my skillset and a portfolio.  It also gives me a new understanding and appreciation for the data analytics work at my current company and how to interact with that team better now because of my understanding of these programs.  The instructors were very knowledgeable and injected their real-work experience into the lectures to help put things into context.  The class was fun and engaging while also getting just deep enough into the technical stuff to challenge me.  Would definitely recommend the course to people looking to get into the world of Data Analytics or to dive further into it if it's something they've started to dabble in. I had a blast learning data science. Having to go from absolute no knowledge of python coding to being decent at manipulating large datasets gives a sense of accomplishment. I can confidently say that large datasets are no longer scary, I am able to make sound and outstanding interpretations into visualised graphs and diagrams that are easy to understand professionally. The course is great for all types of audiences. If you are new to cybersecurity, you understand the concepts of cybersecurity and also how different parts of the organizations (IT vs Business) need to look at security. The course also takes us through multiple streams of cybersecurity so we can pick what interests us the most going forward. 
For a person who has some experience in cybersecurity, the course can be a great opportunity to look at cybersecurity from a fresh perspective and understand certain concepts much better.
The case study at the end of the course gives ample opportunity to reinforce all concepts learned throughout the course. And it is great to collaborate with people from multiple backgrounds and experiences. Read less

This was my first Brainstation course and overall it was a really positive experience! I had taken an intro to Python course several years ago and this course helped me ramp up and contextualize how Python can be leveraged for the field I'm building a career in: Data & Analytics. The course is very comprehensive with an in-depth overview of python basics, and Zubia did a great job of breaking down tough topics and offering support throughout the course. I was also very proud of the project I completed as my deliverable for the course; while it was challenging, I had many learnings that I look forward to transferring over to my work with Data Scientists on my team. The only area of improvement is on the course curriculum, where it would've been helpful to have a break in classes before the final project due date instead of on the 8th week. This would've given more time to prepare since the last lesson felt rushed to add to me final project. All in all, big thanks to Zubia and Brainstation, looking forward to my next class!   Read less
